What Janie Wants

Rate this book
Signing divorce papers the same week she turned forty wasn’t part of Janie McAlister’s happily ever after. With an empty nest and no cheating spouse to look after, her future’s in desperate need of a makeover. Her quirky sister’s tropical getaway gift seemed a perfect place to start. But instead of thatched roof huts and designer pools, she’s landed at the one seventies throwback in the Riviera Maya—and caught the attention of a bold young man who won’t take no for an answer.

Zade Painel’s a man on a mission—grab some much needed R&R at Gypsy Cove, and figure out how to reclaim his boudoir photography business. He never thought the answer would come in the form of a curvy, forty-year-old redhead and an accidental knee to the ‘nads, but Janie’s a force of nature with a penchant for fixing things. She’s also sexy as hell, despite her hangup with him being a younger man.

He’ll show her age is just a number, starting with a very grown up invitation—stick to what society says is right, or give time and attention to her own desires and claim what Janie wants.

EDITED REVIEW WITH ADDED EPILOGUE

What Janie Wants by Rhenna Morgan is a fun, sexy, sweet short story about two people taking a week out of their lives to slow down and search for answers at a beach resort in Mexico. But what they find is something neither of them expected. This book was generously provided to me in exchange for an honest review by NetGalley and by Rhenna Morgan.

Janie McAlister has had a rough year. Her husband of over twenty two years just came home one day, packed his bags and said their marriage was over. The divorce is now finally over and Janie just turned forty years old. Her sister gave her a gift of a week’s vacation in a beautiful beach resort in Gypsy Cove, Mexico. Maybe this is just what she needs, a quiet week to pull herself together and decide what to do with the rest of her life as a newly single woman. She hadn’t been there five minutes when she literally ran into Zade Painel.

mexico beach resort - Google Search

Zade is twenty six years old. He just sold his successful boudoir photography business but there were some stipulations in the contract that he wasn’t aware of. So he is taking this week at his Uncle’s resort to figure out what to do. But when the beautiful red headed woman plowed into him in the hallway, the only thoughts in his head were how to convince this woman to spend time with him and get to know her better.

“Everyone deserves a chance to be daring in paradise, don’t you think?”

kissing at the beach - Google Search

I want to say, before anything else, that Zade is perfect. Sexalicious doesn’t even begin to describe this man. When he looks at Janie, he doesn’t see her age, he sees a beautiful, sexy woman that has been hurt and suffered a blow to her self confidence. And he is determined to do everything he can to help her to see herself the way he sees her.

“The first time I looked at you my world tilted. That’s a connection, and I want more.”

Cheyenne Tozzi shows her modeling prowess under just a bed sheet ...

The days (and nights) Zade and Janie spend together are magical and perfect. But this would never work in the real world. She can already feel the judgment from everyone regarding their age difference. Zade isn’t all that much older than her own son! Zade, though, wants this to continue after they get home. He wants more. How can he convince Janie that what they share is worth holding on to?

“The first time I picked up a camera and took a shot, a whole new dimension opened up in my life. It was there all the time, I just didn’t know it. Once I felt it, I wanted more. Meeting you? Same thing.”

I loved this book!!! Zade and Janie steamed up the pages. But the chemistry wasn’t all that made them so fantastic together. They were just what each other needed when they needed it. Zade was perfect for helping Janie to see herself in a new light. And Janie knew just what to say to help Zade figure out what to do about his business. And the things Zade said. He melted me into a puddle while at the same time, I needed a huge industrial size fan to cool myself off from the hotness factor.

sapostiks's Blog | Being deeply loved by someone gives you ...

This book has gotten a brand new cover and the author has added an amazing epilogue. We flash ahead two years from the day Janie came home from Gypsy Cove and see how she and Zade are doing. I love epilogues and this one was perfect.

So if you enjoy a quick, sexy, sweet, funny and hot read, this is for you. I hope you enjoy Janie and Zade as much as I did. Congratulations to Rhenna Morgan for such a fantastic book.

The trolls might be right. Kelly and I both read this one wrong.

Don't get me wrong. I didn't hate it. It just had some good parts and some bad parts.

First the good.
Janie goes off to the beach in Mexico to get away for a bit due to her husband finding himself a younger woman and their recent divorce. Her sister had set up the trip as a gift to her.
She gets their and realizes that it's a clothing optional resort.

*note to self-don't google nude beach gifs*

That's as far as that story-line really went. I wanted some nakedness.

Then she bumps into Zade (she actually does this)

Chicago commercial photographers

Zade decides she is a hottie and that he wants to bang her. All guys want to do this after groin kicks don't they? *reminds self to ask Jeff and Lono*

My husband is quite a bit younger than I am. So I did love the part where the older woman got the hawt guy. Janie is forty and Zade is twenty-six..hells yeah.

Chicago commercial photographers

Then the bad:
Unprotected sex. For reals?

I don't give a rats ass if she thought that he hadn't been with other women. And that there was a love connection.
If a guy is as experienced as this guy was...he has had some practice.
Put a hat on it sister.
Chicago commercial photographers

But it was a connection. And it was profound.
Chicago commercial photographers

But in the end I've read worse. It's a quickie little story and the older woman gets the guy so totally rocked. There needs to be more stories featuring that.

My friend Carol (StarAngel's Reviews) liked this book a lot more than I did. (there's nothing wrong with that either-we all have different tastes in books and that makes it fun) Go check out her wonderful review.

What Janie Wants currently stands at a 4.50 rating on Goodreads. Obviously I read this one wrong.

Alright, so here’s the problem. I am well aware that I am not the target demographic for sexytimes books. I generally find the women to be pathetic, the men to be super creepers, and the bumping and grinding to be squick worthy. That being said, recently I have discovered that romance books containing a lot of humor (especially of the slapstick variety) score REALLY high with me (and I can even ignore a barf inducing poke session or two). When I saw Janie up for grabs on NetGalley, I jumped all over it. I wanted something light and sending a recently divorced woman to a nude resort without her realizing it sounded HI. LAR. IOUS. Unfortunately, it turns out I already read this book several years ago . . . .

Houston commercial photography

and it was way better the first time around . . .

Houston commercial photography

This wasn’t a rom-com at all (aside from an unfortunate meet and greet involving Janie and her future beau’s nutsack). I mean, Janie didn’t even venture down to the beach at all. WTF is the point in putting those kind of teasers in the blurb? I wanted some of this . . .

Houston commercial photography

However, I’m not a DNF-er, so once I figured out this book wasn’t going to offer the fun and frivolity I had been expecting, I buckled down and got to reading. Then the talk of mounds and aching sex and “feasting” on parts began and . . .

Houston commercial photography

Right?

Houston commercial photography

Ahhhh, that’s better.

Now let’s move on to Zade. I’m sure panties will be dropping across ‘Murica for the oh-so-perfect Zade. Once again I’m the odd duck and could totally imagine the Mr. Perfect façade quickly dropping away upon the return to reality and him turning into a regular dude-brah who gathered up a collection of board shorts and t-shirts like this . . .

Houston commercial photography

Still, I’m perfectly aware that all of these issues are my problem and my star rating would have been padded because of it. Until the “bareback” scene . . . .

Houston commercial photography

Thanks, Big Carl.

Where was I? Oh yeah, unprotected sex that happened because (and I quote): “Zade didn’t sleep with just anyone.” How in the name of Tom Cruise do you know that, you dumb bitch? You’ve known the dude for 5 days. He is Matthew McConaughey from back in his hay-day reincarnate. You really KNOW he doesn’t sleep around?!?!?!?!? And you’re a mother of a high school senior and another in college????

Houston commercial photography

Shame sticks on you, Janie. Your rating drops to a 2.

My Thoughts - Story
This book had it ALL…humor, romance, angst and the biggest plus was the fact that our heroine was in her 40’s. Definitely, a book I could relate to.

The romance was cute and especially since Zade was a much younger guy who appreciated a person for what was on the inside instead of age.

So with that said, Ms. Morgan did an excellent job at expressing the characters and each of the scenes ---- she pinpointed emotions ranging from humor to sadness and developed a perfect love story.

Re-Cap
Janie goes on a vacation that her sister gifted her, but it turns out that it is to a resort that clothing is optional and reminds Janie more of Gilligan’s Island than a plush getaway.

She meets Zade accidentally (and a bit clumsily) and the sparks fly. Janie tries to fight it since he is younger but Zade won’t take no for an answer.

From here, it is a game of cat-n-mouse until more than just lust and sex is between them.

4 - "Whatever you're here for, I'd like to help you find it." Stars!

What Janie Wants is the first book I have read by Rhenna Morgan, it is certain to not be the last though.

I love a good ’Older Woman, Younger Man’ romance and the author really delivered with Janie and Zade’s story. From a knee in the balls introduction, to plenty of sexy-times and low level drama, this was the perfect book to start my holiday with!

This is an easy-going read, nothing too surprising with the storyline of the tropes used, but it is really well written, the characters are relatable and likeable. Zade was sweet, sexy and the kind of guy any woman of a certain age would happily have a holiday fling with. I liked that Janie although dealing with the feelings from her recent divorce, didn’t capitulate to his charms, without making Zade work for it a little bit.

”You’d look perfect naked on a beach.”

I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Another slam dunk by Rhenna Morgan! I got hooked on her writing through the Unexpected Eden series, which is urban fantasy romance (SUPER HOT btw). But I was really excited to see she'd branched out into contemporary romance too! I love it when authors i like try writing new things. Morgan's new book What Janie Wants was a total hit for me!

Janie is a really fun heroine, she's spunky, fierce, but not crazy in a way that would be annoying like some heroines are too intense or bitchy to be real. Janie is not like that all, she's got a mission and she's out to live it until she unexpectedly ends up a nudist resort of sorts.

Picture hilarity ensuing and sexy times with the all too gorgeous Zade. How can you not love a hero with a name like Zade. I love that his business is a Boudoir photography company. This man is all about making a woman look and feel good for a living! How's a girl to turn that down right?

I loved the chemistry between Janie and Zade and how it felt natural and sexy and fun. This is an excellent read for anyone who wants a fun story by the pool, but I don't mean that in an negative this is a fluff book way. This is a great, well written, polished and emotionally moving romance too, it just happens to be best appreciated while sipping mai tais by a pool preferably with a sexy pool boy close at hand *wink

Ok, so you read the blurb and you’re like…not really interested in reading a “cougar” book. I know you’re thinking it because I totally thought the same thing. But here’s the thing…the author did a great job with the story that I didn’t care.

Janie is trying to get over a divorce that has left her feeling less than desirable. She’s got two older children who are either in college or on their way and Janie is looking for a new “place” in her life. Her sister convinces her to take a well-deserved vacation and recommended a little unknown resort in Mexico.

Zade is a boudoir photographer who has made a serious mistake with his career. In order to clear his head and regroup, he visits his relatives resort in Mexico, hoping to figure out how to get back on track.

Something must have been in the air, because these two literally run into each other at the resort. Although Janie finds Zade attractive, he’s not much older than her child is having issues, even though she can’t stop fantasizing about him. Zade could care less how old Janie is. He sees a beautiful woman both inside and out and is determined to not only get his paws on her, but to help her see her true worth.

This is a sweet story about a woman who needed a little guidance to rediscover herself, surprisingly from the last person she’d ever expected. Learn something from Janie and don’t judge a book by it’s age.

This is a beautiful story about finding yourself, sexually awakening and going after what you want in life. Janie just wanted an escape from her life, a few days' break. What she never expected was Zade. She thinks Zade's all about the chase, that he's just after sex, but she gets so much more than she bargained for with him...

"Sex is the single most intimate connection we can make with another person. I don't engage with just anyone. Won't cheapen it with something that's surface deep or with someone I don't have a connection to."

Zade is perfection. Wiser beyond his years, sexy as hell, and one of the most well-rounded and unique male characters I've ever read. He knows how to get what he wants, he knows how to push all of Janie's buttons, and he's intelligent and cheeky to boot.

"Is this a date?"
He grinned up at her and a rakish lock of hair fell over his breathtaking eyes. "I showered, put on decent clothes, and fed you. Next on my agenda is getting you comfortable enough you let me sample your lips the same way you tackled dessert. So, yeah. It's a date."

Zade is every woman's fantasy. Forget what Janie wants, I want my own Zade! This story was delightful and the 'will they/won't they' suspense of the story made me not want to put it down. Very well written, highly recommend it!

**ARC copy provided by author via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.**

I loved this book. It was a pretty predictable romance plot, super cute, but the meaning behind this book. Holy shit. It was phenomenal. It was about loving yourself, and accepting yourself, your body, just the way it is. Which is beautiful. I just wanted to sing and dance with how well the author got this point across.

 photo tumblr_inline_moiklnRQJ01qz4rgp_zpsoz3fk4fr.gif

Both of the characters are well-written, and I liked that Janie's kids were so supportive of their mother. I also liked that Zade was not dissuaded by anything that Janie was so scared about. He was such a good guy, and Janie deserves him.

I think that this is a book that all women (who are okay with quite a but of sex scenes) should read. It was pretty heartwarming to read this type of story.

**I do want to note that there is an age difference between Janie and Zade (although nothing too major, so don't worry). Some people have called this a "cougar book", however, I didn't get that feeling. Janie didn't prey on him, nor does Zade only like older women. THEY JUST FELL IN LOVE PEOPLE!

A perfect hot romance for the beach or by the pool! Loved both characters (though Rhenna's guys are always my favorites--alpha males with just the right amount of emotional intelligence.)

When Janie McAlister checks into a secluded resort in the lush Riviera Maya, she expects a quiet week to rest, hide, and heal her wounded psyche after a devastating divorce.

What she doesn't expect is a clothing-optional beach. Or meeting a gorgeous young man with an old soul.

But Zade Painel isn't your average guy. And when he comes to his uncle's resort after the sale of his business went wrong, he has some things to work out, too. First, though, he wants to know more about the stunning redhead who accidentally decked him in the lobby.

From the start, their attraction seems genuine. Yes, there's an age difference. But Zade isn't worried about it. And through his wiser-than-his-years observations, Janie learns to relax. More than relax. She learns to take a deep breath, open her arms to life's possibilities, and maybe for the first time ever, ask for what she wants.

This is a quick, fun read (with OMG hot sex scenes). But there's wisdom here, too. And genuine emotions that come from experience. If you like contemporary romances with a spicy-to-hot rating, I highly recommend WHAT JANIE WANTS

5 Romantic Stars

I was given this book for my honest review.

Man, this woman was priceless. Effortlessly beautiful and full of expression. He’d love to have an hoiur alone with her and a camera. To capture the way she quirked her mouth, that sweet blush, and the way she looked as she lowered her eyelids over an expression heavy with need. Zane

Zane-hot and sexy

Janie-pretty, smart and reserved

Starting over isn’t as easy as one thinks from a past that comes with emotion and heartache but with a little encouragement a lot is to be said for what could be and what should be. This is Zane and Janie’s true story that will have you in awe. It will make you scream in all the right places, laugh in the unknown places and have you in pure ecstasy in others.

Age is just a number but to some it is more than that it is a definite setback in some relationships that can be conquered with just the amount of patience. The love at first sight comes into play even when one thinks the heart knows not but the brain is too dense to see through the fog. The sex between Janie and Zane is like cheese on a burger with just the right amount added it can melt into something that is delicious on that palette. Yummy

The author did one heck of a job in creating a wonderful read to be read by all. The sensual yet realistic value placed upon these characters will be a delight for all.

Happy Reading

Loved it!!!!

As a woman close in age to Janie, it was refreshing to read her and Zade's story. What woman wouldn't be flattered to have a younger man think she was sexy. Zade has such an old soul that he come across as being older than he actually is. Janie having been caught up in her family, as many women tend to do, didn't realize she had stopped living for herself when her husband pulled the rug out from under her and asked for a divorce. Janie is learning to live for herself again and Zade is right there knocking all her preconceived notions aside and shows her that she can have love again.

I was really getting into this story and the characters, but the ending was a little bit of a let down for me.

I was really looking forward to reading this, as these stories seem few and far between with the female been older than the man. This is still taboo even in today's day and age. So there I was reading away and so focused on what was happening that I didn't even realize that the story had finished. I felt there could have been more done for these characters. I'm left hanging to know if they will get their happy ever after in the real world.

I have to say that this isn't my normal read. Books shorter than 200 pages rarely capture my interest. Books about love at an island resort, even less so. Happily, I went into this book pretty blind to the facts and I ended up enjoying anyway!

There was very little to DISlike about Janie. She recently turned 40 and got divorced. She's taken a real hit to her ego with her husband having an affair with a younger woman. I never felt bad for Janie - not once. Yes, I felt pissed for her, but never felt bad. I thought she was extremely relatable - she doesn't feel like the most beautiful woman in the world and tends to focus on her flaws a little too much. I felt like she was really brave to go on vacation by herself. I mean, wow, I don't know if I could ever do that! But she did and it definitely worked out well for her! ;)

Zade was almost too perfect. If he was any more smooth, it would have been too much. But as he was, he seemed to know the right things to say when he spoke from his heart. I felt like Zade was a little bit magical, with that gypsy blood flowing through his veins. He had a great attitude about life in general and it seemed like all of that came from his family. I loved that he wanted to get to know Janie better and that he was willing to keep at it to convince her to give him a chance, despite their age difference.

The way Zade put Janie at ease felt effortless on one hand. On the other, I knew he had to work hard to get Janie to trust him. It was definitely worth the work though because Janie really blossomed with Zade and I felt like she really rediscovered herself. They were pretty hot together and there was sufficient Sexy Time. Zade brought out the vixen in Janie!

I didn't expect to like this book so I was pleasantly surprised when I ended up really enjoying it. I felt like it was very well paced all the way until the very end, where it ended very abruptly. There were no major loose ends to tie up but I think it would have felt more complete if I could have seen a couple of months after where the book actually ended. Other than that, this was fun to read. The characters were real and likable, Zade and Janie were hot together, and there were even a few laughs! I would recommend this to any woman in or approaching her 40's who feels like there's no chance for romance for them. This book will make you believe again! :)

OMG, what can I say, I received a free ARC for honest review. I totally loved the story between Zane and Janie. From the beginning it caught my eye, read in one sitting.

Zane needs to get away, due to some bad business and gets away towards his uncle resort. He's 26 yrs old, handsome, photographer, and a good head on his shoulder.

Janie, well her sister gave her a getaway, since she's recently divorced and needs to know what she wants out of life. 22 years of marriage gone because her Ex met someone younger.

Janie, is shy, all to herself, she's never been away, she thought she lived a good life, until 9 mos of dealing with the divorce agreement/finalized.

Well at the resort, while touring around with Arlo, owner of the resort, Zane and his friend playing football, while trying to catch the ball, bumps into Janie, and gets hit on his balls, well lets just say, it was worth it.

He feels he has to get to know Janie, she's beautiful, ginger hair, but not quite sure how too. He finds a way. Janie is so sorry, but wow, he's so handsome, but he's young, way young, she has a son 21, that no way, will she be a cougar.

Well while she goes sunbathe, Zane spots her and wants to show her around, she doesn't feel good around the young crowd, college kids by the pool, wants to show her where she can have a private beach side actually close to her room. He makes her feel uncomfortable/comfortable, asks her if they can have dinner and so she does. Well lets just say that Dinner turns out to be a magical night for them both. But Janie being 40 yrs old, feels its wrong, even though Zane persuades her that age does not matter, but not to her eyes, and other. Will she let that difference of there age, not have a life together? Will her kids accept her if she goes out with a younger man? And the distance of where they live, cause issues to keep this relationship going?

Well I guess you have to find out, read the book, first book read by Rhenna Morgan, and I loved it!
I will have to check out more of her books! :)

This is my second story from the talent Rhenna and it was totally different than the first . This was a spicy one .
Not only does she knocks him down but her hands go somewhere where it hurts between the legs. He is younger than her but he makes her feel fantastic. He is attracted to her . Janie is stuck on the thing that Zade is younger than her and she doesn't know how to handle it. She is really attracted to him. There is some funny parts to it and some sexy parts to the story She opens his eyes and makes him see how he can get his live back . It will surprise you with the story . its a must get Highly Senussi and it will touch your heart

Cute story of Janie, a very recently divorced 40 y/o curvy woman on vacation.
Getting her GROOVE BACK. Hey, I'm not kidding. She meets Zade (I don't like his name). Zade is 26 years old, tall and handsome & single. check, check and check & double check!
They have a meet cute - sorta. Then he does the ol' double take & puts the moves on Janie. She hesitates for a very short time. Then they begin their destination affair. I was thinking that this was sort of risky on both their parts. They did have some talking time. Janie kept pointing out their age difference. Zade kept saying that it wasn't that important. Janie was just a little too wishy washy about what would happen next. This is 3 person POV, mostly Janie, but some Zade too. I deducted a little for the insta-smex, and a little for the author mixing up her kid's names( 1 is a boy and 1 a girl, oops). There was no epilogue. a little deduction for that too. I know 2 couples that are cougar woman & younger man Both married over 30 years. This was a cute story and I enjoyed it.

Huh...that ended rather suddenly. I guess I was expecting more of a fuss.

3.75 stars!

I liked it quite a lot. The way Zade brought Janie out of her shell and made her feel beautiful while at the same time falling in love with her, and her him. My only issue is the above mentioned thing: the ending was a bit sudden, which dropped my rating from 4 stars.

Maybe I'm just a sucker for older woman, younger man romances :)

This was a wonderful, fun and fast read. An older woman and an old soul nearly her son’s age meet in a beachside resort. The chemistry is wild and since hubs fell in love with someone else, Janie finds her freedom and learns to let go. Rhenna is an ace at one liners that make you react on impact. What Janie wants, Janie gets, and it’s a great ride.

This was wonderful. I loved how we got the perspective of the young man and how he saw the older woman and the older woman and what she was going through. Janie is the older woman who is feeling useless and has no self confidence. She is the giver the caretaker for everyone but when her world goes downhill and her husband jars her confidence in herself she is floundering. This prompts her to go to Mexico and in steps Zade. Zade the young man with the old soul and heart of gold. He sees the woman as beautiful in all respects. Not just on the outside but what the inside has as well. And Janie is no exception here. In fact she really gets him to see what it would be like to be with someone long term. She gets him to want more and to want a partnership but he is dealing with a bad decision and trying to figure it out. This doesn’t however stop him from showing Janie how beautiful and amazing she is. In the process he falls head over heals for her. Zade is an amazing guy and I love how he sees the inner beauty and tries to get others to see how amazing they are. His uncle Arlo is awesome as well. His protectiveness over Zade in the end is great. He sees Zade has opened himself up and was hurt and wants to keep him from feeling more pain. His aunt is interesting and I think part of what helped mold Zade into a man who sees beyond the physical outside of a person. Janie is lost at first but you feel for her. The author writes this in a real and telling way. You see her struggles with her confidence, confliction over Zades age and acceptance over time that Zade is what makes her happy and is a partner in every aspect of the word. He is kind, supportive, affectionate and loves unconditionally. The connection between the two is sweet outside of the intimacy and hot in the intimacy category-they click. A wonderfully written real story of a older women struggling with confidence and finding herself- her place in life and her inner and outer beauty and the journey she goes on to see who she is and what she wants. In the end it is the amazing man who helps her see herself and helps her become comfortable with who she is and what she wants. A beautiful story on romance and seeing beyond age to see that love and partnership comes in all packages if we just let ourselves feel and be real

Having enjoyed Unexpected Eden it was a no brainer for me to pick up What Janie Wants and I’m happy I did. It is a quick, fun and flirty read with not only likeable characters, but ones I could relate to that had me hooked from start to finish.
Janie has had the rug pulled out from under and while she isn’t broken by the detour her life has taken, she is bruised and trying to figure what her next step should be. While I can’t relate to the circumstances that had her venturing to Gypsy Cove, I could relate to how she saw herself as a woman. After what she has gone through it’s easy to see how she could look at herself and only focus on the not so great parts of herself, but what I liked about her is that regardless of how she may see herself it wasn’t able to dampen her fiery personality. Zade definitely proves that age is only a number. He’s charming, sweet, open and determined. He goes with his gut and yet isn’t impulsive. What I enjoyed the most about him though was how he viewed the world. Having friends who are photographers it’s true that they see beauty in things that others may miss, or simply ignore because it’s not right in their faces, but not Zade and he saw Janie when she was unable to see herself.
I enjoyed how Zade and Janie’s budding relationship progressed and didn’t fall into the whole insta-love realm, especially because this is a novella length story. What there is, is an attraction between two people story and they decide to act on it and find after spending time with each other, in and out of bed, that there may just be something more going on and have to decide if they are willing to explore it back in the real world. Then there is the whole older woman/younger man-cougar thing and well, as I said, Zade proves that age is only a number in the end.
The Bottom Line: If you’re looking for a fun, sweet read about two people taking a chance on each other then this one is for you!

Are you in the market for a hot romance? Something to take you away while sitting on the beach? Then "What Janie Wants" is a perfect choice.

Janie McAlister, heads out to lick her wounds after her divorce, she thinks she is going to a nice quiet resort and wants to heal, hide, and try to start getting over a wicked nasty divorce. Little does she know that the resort is clothing optional or that she will run into a drop dead hot younger man with a very old soul.

Enter Zade Painel, he has come home to his Uncle's resort, when the sale of his business isn't what he expected. So, he is sorting out a few issues of his own. When Janie runs into him in the lobby he is instantly attracted and wants to know more about her.

They are both attracted to one another, but can Janie learn to let go of the age difference? Can Zade prove himself and get her to open up to the possibilities and get Janie to admit what she really wants?

If you are looking for a great short read with some majorly hot sex scenes. This one is definitely worth the time. Ms. Morgan's characters are strong and well rounded, and you can't help but root for them.

The story of Zade and Janie.
Janie is recently divorced and just turned forty. Her sister convinces her to go on a Mexican vacation for a week. When she gets to the resort, it's a little rundown, but charming. After check-in, she's reading through the resort information when she spots a problem. The beach is clothing optional. Uh oh. She turns around to go to a nice, respectable place, and connects with the privates of a hot, but younger, guy.
Zade isn't as young as Janie thinks he is, and he thinks of age as nothing but a number anyway. He views life through his camera lens, at least he did until he made a mistake that left him wondering what to do in his professional life. All he knows is that this woman is gorgeous, and he's going to do everything possible to spend some time with her.
I'm not sure I have ever really read many 'cougar' type romance books (older woman/younger man). I must say, I truly enjoyed it. While some of it seemed sudden, the author explained things in such a vivid, colorful detail that you could swear you felt that ocean breeze in your own hair!
It did seem to end abruptly, and I would have liked a bit more at the end to see where they wound up. That is the only reason I counted off a half a star! Otherwise, I loved it.

What an important story. Honestly, at first, I kind of thought this book wouldn't be for me. Younger man, much older woman...it couldn't work. Could it? Well, I must insert foot into mouth because it worked and then some! What Rhenna Morgan did in this tale is teach women everywhere a lesson not only about love not having an age barrier, but that the mirror it sees through is crystal clear. As we age, and I feel confident in speaking for women in my age bracket (30's and 40's), we really start to worry about our appeal. We start comparing ourselves to other women, younger women, mothers, older women, you name it, we've made a comparison. In this age bracket things start to change and for a lot of us, it doesn't always feel like it's for the better. Do we regret our children for giving us pooches, and stretch marks, hell no! Any woman I know would do it again in a heartbeat for one single smile on their child's face. However, that doesn't change the fact that we still FEEL different. And not only that, we LOOK different even though in our minds eye we're very much the same. This story took the reader on a woman's journey through acceptance and loving oneself from the inside AND outside. On top of that, we've got one wicked hot guy to drool over.

Heat level about a 7 out of 10. Really amazing book. I look forward to more erotic romances from this author.

Oh, my heart and eyes! I did not expect to love this so much that my heart almost exploded out of my chest! God, this story is so beautiful! I am forever indebted to Rhenna for hosting a giveaway on here. This is an AMAZING romance book. If you are as open minded about love as I am then this is the perfect book for you. It spoke to me in so many ways!
It was hilarious and heartwarming. Best first encounter ever! And Zade, godDAMN Zade. He is so intense and passionate... I blame my high temperature throughout the book solely on the summer heat!!
Usually a book this thin is a complete letdown but this is not the case here. I will always treasure this story and reread it everytime I second guess myself.
The message and the mind-blowing passion in every page speaks volumes for Rhenna's magnificent talent for writing. This book is worth so much more than many lengthier novels out there.
Every woman who thinks they aren't good enough and don't deserve a second chance at happiness must read this! Like hell if you won't change your mind after the last page.
This story is uplifting and kept me grinning from ear to ear. I hope they make a comeback because I miss these two so much already!

Janie is newly divorced and needs to get away. Zade has a business deal go wrong, so he's licking his wounds. Fate pushes these two together for the greater good. I laughed out loud at parts, and really roots for Janie and Zade toward the end of the book.

This was a good, easy to read book. it would be a great beach read. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.

Fans of the older woman/younger man theme will want to add this to their list of enjoyable reads with its likable characters and steamy encounters. It's a pleasant read, set mainly in an exotic locale, that charmed me even as it addressed the familiar issues surrounding this favorite theme of mine.

Janie's on vacation after signing divorce papers from a husband who cheated on her with a younger woman. For twenty years she devoted herself to her family, never going after what she wanted. Coming to an island full of sun and surf has her vowing to relax and decide what she wants out of her new life. Meeting the sexy and younger Zade helps her embrace the fun life has to offer and has her seeing herself in a whole new light, a womanly light where her vibrancy calls to him. Though she has concerns over their age difference she can't deny how supportive he is of her, how good he makes her feel, and how much richer life is when he's in it. With their time on the island coming to and end will she go with her heart or let other's preconceived notions take away the other half to her soul that Zade's become. Janie's a strong-willed woman who's not as bitter as most divorcees as she can admit she's excited by this recent change in her life. She's a bit leery of Zade at first but their crackling connection soon wins her over. Her concerns about age are understandable but an altercation towards the end of the story felt a bit manipulative and overly dramatic and left me disappointed in Janie.

Zade may be young but he's wiser in years than most young men his age which will come in handy as he has to use every ounce of charm to win over Janie. It's a fortuitous meeting between two apparent opposites as he too is on the island to reassess his life. Before now he's never had trouble getting women but Janie's initial low self-esteem has her leading him on a merry chase and him using charm, sexiness, and playfulness to win her over. Zade's the quintessential hero as he says and does everything right. He compliments Janie at every turn, supports her and inspires her to live life wholeheartedly. Through his artistic talent he shows her her true self-worth even as she lets his age blind her to the truth of their feelings for each other. He's sweet, sexy, and caring and you can't help but fall for him.

This was an enjoyable read with a delightful hero and admirable heroine. The setting is exotic and romantic and helped bring these two people together through fun and flirty encounters. The sexual interludes were scorching at first and got even more fiery and frantic as their time together came to an end. The issues surrounding their age difference are familiar and dealt with in a mostly believable manner with the final confrontation feeling a bit over the top. The ending too was wrapped up a bit too quickly as I wanted Janie to be the one to chase after Zade for a change. On a whole though this was a fun and flirty read with a drool-worthy hero that's still invading my dreams and I recommend it as a decadent diversion to the stresses of the day.
