An excellent book for preparing yourself for the birth of your child. It is comprehensive and written with a voice that has an opinion which makes it different from the politically correct What to Expect When You're Expecting variations. This means that it sounds like you are listening to a person rather than a reference book, but at the same time, means that you have to understand that it is just an opinion, albeit an informed (and German) one.

There is a good portion of the book devoted to Homeopathy which I skipped over, I can understand that a nice smell might relax/benefit you but whether it is rose or lavender seems a little like micro-optimisation to me. The first half of a chapter, the author may talk about the preparation of home birthing, what you need to know, who you need to call, when, what to bring, how to handle emergency situations, what to look out for etc, then the second half of the chapter is totally dedicated to the benefits of homeopathy! Krass!

Also many of the poems and lyrics simply don't translate well... but the actual meat of the book is very well translated. If she didn't mention Germany specific rules, regulations and anecdotes, it would be hard to tell that it was originally written in German I think.
