Science has a way of sometimes surprising the heck out of people. As happens here in Starship's Brain by author Scott Bartlett.
Henry Morgan was a marine and marines are extraordinary well trained soldiers that are usually eyed with high regard. As was Henry Morgan.
But getting killed by a "flying lawnmower" is extraordinary, a one of kind of thing.
However, getting resuscitated as a spaceship? Somebody must have become bonkers! Yet, it is reality as Henry soon discovered.
Science can do so.
But with a hidden rare danger lurking in his future unbeknownst to him and Earth.
That is but only a small part of a new life amongst the stars that will have you finish this Part 1 of Starship's Brain series with stars in your own eyes as well.
Author Scott Bartlett excelled with this introduction to a new space opera series. I can't wait to see what happens further in the series, i.e. Part 2.

The author got me right at the start of the series when he ‘killed’ off the main character with a flying lawnmower and made him into a sentient AI. One of the main threads running through the book is how the various characters interact and treat the sentient AI that used to be alive.

The story takes us on a journey through near and far space in order to evaluate and deal with a possible/probable threat to Earth. The story was fun, interesting and moved at a good pace. The series gave me a very good story line, plot twists and turns and plenty of action to keep me reading.

Started off quite good

See above , by the 3rd book it f Would still have to read the end though lolelt like the story was being padded out to reach the 50k words per book. The whole tale should have been about 3 books worth.

Interesting space opera

I liked it. Kept my attention and kept me reading. I am going to buy the next box set. Scott is a good writer.
