This is a powerful read that sweetly demonstrates the evolution of grief and the erosion of writer’s block.

A booking error brings a tenant writer and a grieving widow and daughter into a close proximity situation. Luna steals the spotlight as only a seven year old can. Her perceptive gaze and narration break down Callum’s walls.

Coexistence gradually evolves as Iris releases Callum’s writer’s block and his belief in her releases her creativity to paint her true self.

All of them needed this summer for different reasons. I enjoyed the opportunity to follow their evolution and was so proud of Iris when she shares some difficult truths with her mother-in-law. I also enjoyed the brief cameos of the characters in the first book and am looking forward to the next.

Another great sweet read from Violet McBride.
Early read thanks to the author!

Violet McBride has done it again with this next installment in the Season's of Second Chances. This time we're in a lake setting. A slight booking/listing error brings together an author , a 7 year old, and her artist mother. The insanity that could happen. Luna, the 7 y/o, almost steals the show in ny opinion. But the story of understanding between Cal, the author, and Iris, the widow/owner is there for sure. Quite nerdy interactions between all of them, specifically Luna and Cal, made me chuckle. Also love the lead- up to a new book in the Epilogue.

It's a great quick sweet read!

When Iris and her young daughter, Luna, arrive at the lake house for the summer, they find that there was a double-booking error and the house is already occupied. They need this time away and end up sharing the house with the current renter, a thriller writer with writer’s block. He came for peace and solitude, hoping to break through the writer’s block. He gets something so much better.

A lovely story about two people, as opposite as can be, who see through each other to what’s been hidden inside each of them for so long. Luna is an adorable delight!

“Stuck with My Summer Catch” by Violet McBride

-A double-booking at a lakeside cabin brings together grieving widow Iris, her delightful daughter Luna, and author Callum, who is struggling with writer’s block. I received a free copy and am voluntarily sharing my honest thoughts.

The story is sweet, heartwarming, and filled with charming moments, with Luna nearly stealing every scene she appears in. Cal and Iris are opposites who slowly help each other heal, creating a believable and touching romance.
The result is a thoughtful, clean summer romance.

Iris and her young, precocious daughter Luna, are going to the lake house. Only problem was she forgot to take it off the rental market and now Callum, a writer, is at the house as well.
As these two opposites navigate living together, Luna and her plastic frog Frederick, give them play by play action.
Iris must deal with her husband's death and all it comes with besides tge loss.
Callum is dealing with his own mental block to writing. Nothing is making it right.
This is a sweet book. Easy read.

a double-booked cabin has never been so fun. add a dock & lake — it’s worth the double-booking! a writer (with writers-block) meets a still-grieving widow with a 7-year-old extremely intelligent girl, who has a plastic frog named Frederick. over the summer, love comes unexpectedly. Iris & Callum are very different but still make everything work. read this book & smile all the way to the end — you’ll love it! enjoy!

She has lost her husband so she is taking her daughter and going away to a beach property she owns. There is a complication because a writer has rented the property for the summer. This surely causes a problem. This is a fascinating story that I thoroughly enjoyed. The author has done an excellent job at making the book enjoyable. The little girl was a great character and kept surprising me throughout the story. A must read!

shes suffering from loss when she decides the cabin is where they need to decompress and just be. though noticing a blip she forgot to block off there at the lake cabin is him

hes got writers block and well recovering from the public eye of judgment.

but what they both dont know is they are about to help each other heal.

this is a slow burn type of book. but for what the author is putting across from a Interror third person ( you mind is writing the story your seeing) it is worth the read

Another fabulous trip to Willowbrook!

Two strangers both tired of pretending and seeking some summer solace end up on the same cottage. Will their summers plans be derailed or will they both find exactly what they need?

I very much enjoyed reading this one and loved the connection between Cal and Iris as well as the colour commentary of little Luna!

A super cute read, absolutely perfect for a beach day!

This is a though provoking, heartwarming clean romance. Violet McBride has given us another great summer read. This one involves Iris, her daughter Luna and author Cal. The characters are well rounded and believable, the dialogue flows seamlessly from beginning to end. Loved how Cal pitched in and helped Iris fix the dock, also how he treated Luna. You can’t go wrong with this wonderful book.

This story was filled with heart and healing. Cal and Iris are both grieving but help each other find healing. Sweet young Luna steals the show with her wild ideas and wisdom beyond her years. This sweet summer romance provided a pick me up and was perfect for a quick afternoon read.

This was short, cute, sweet and great read. If you liked the books before from this author then you will love this one. A mix up in booking a cabin between Luna and Callum starts something special. Actually the title of this book says it all. Definitely a great read

This book was really good, but I do love this author! The grandmother in this book really made me upset, but I was SO glad that the heroine stood up for herself. Can’t wait for more from this author.
