Dr. Noemi Spencer and Shawn Teller meet by chance at a bustling bakery called Serendipity in Boston, known for its famous mini cupcakes. Noemi, a renowned pediatrician, stands in line with her nine-year-old daughter Katie. Shawn, a successful hedge fund manager and self-proclaimed playboy, unknowingly buys the last three cupcakes, leaving Katie visibly disappointed. In a surprising gesture, Shawn offers two of the cakes to Katie, making her giggle and catching Noemi off guard with his movie-star charm. He introduces himself and suggests they treat him next time before strolling out of the bakery, oblivious to the attention from other women. Two weeks later, they bump into each other again at Serendipity and decide to enjoy their treats with a walk along Boston Harbor.
