This has an interesting village premise and characters that start out engaging but is an example of telling vs showing. There are a lot of jumps in the narrative where past conversations are mentioned, for example, but never happened in the book. Expected reactions, which the reader would have assumed, are described in detail while the sense of time is uncertain, leaving the characters' relationships feeling false. I think this writer has a lot of talent but needs a good editor, someone willing to drag through the details to make the story shine.

I chose this book because I wanted a lighter read and the story seemed interesting. BTW, the cover is also really pretty. This book was a cosy, romantic read that takes place in a lovely, small town called Bramblewell. There are apples everywhere and plenty of apple butter and jams to experience. The main character Clara discovers the true meaning of home and fondness for apples and meets a handsome carpenter there named Noah.

A quaint read

I liked the community that was built in this story. It was quaint and gave cozy vibes. I had a hard time understanding the timeline. I still don't know if the story took place over days, weeks or months. There were a few plot holes that had me going back through the story to see if I had skipped something. I found the main character a little annoying and wished there had been more development in the relationships and character personalities. Overall it was an easy read and reminded me of Andrea Severson's small town romance series.

it was a cute story in theory (emphasis on in theory) but the way the author executed it was horrible.
WAYYYYY too much detail. too too much. like 90 percent of the book was talking about her surroundings and the other 10 percent is talking.
they both miscommunicated SO much and it actually pissed me off.

This is a sweet and whimsical story, that might have been a little better for me if I hadn’t been so preoccupied worrying about “the presentation that never was” that Clara was supposed to do 😉
In all seriousness, this was a cosy, spring themed story, more introspective than slice of life, and definitely with overtones of Miss Read’s Thrush Green in the amusing characters presented within. In fact, the introspection was probably my one gripe about the book- I would have liked to actually know more about the characters in the village of Bramblewell, and maybe see them a little more clearly.
A bit dreamy, definitely with a bit of whimsy, this is the kind of book you read when you want something light and fluffy- and might just be a perfect bedtime read (you will probably dream of apples though!)

And Noah? 🤎 Quiet, kind, helpful, and just the right amount of swoony. I really enjoyed the slow-burn between them and those little moments where you can feel the relationship growing naturally.

This was a cute, easy read.It definitely has that cozy, small-town vibe and focuses more on healing and relationships than anything super plot-heavy. It’s the kind of book you read when you just want something light and comforting, not something that’s going to completely consume you. For me, it felt a little slow at times. I kept waiting for something bigger to happen, but it stays pretty mellow the whole way through.

Very much a heart warming tale of a burnt out city worker inheriting her aunt’s home in the quaint village of Bramblewell. Life seems straightforward for Clara till she hears of her inheritance. At first her aim is to do up the cottage and then sell or let it out. Gradually she becomes immersed in village life and drawn to her quiet but helpful neighbour Noah. A misunderstanding sets them briefly apart, but as with all good romance stories, all is resolved for a happy ending.

Bramblewell, A perfect place to live

I loved this story. I'm definitely a country girl. Why anyone would want to live in an anonymous, cold city like London when they could wake up every morning under apple trees, listening to birds chirping, and a stream bubbling nearby is beyond me. Everyone has their own desires but mine would be Bramblewell. And the quirky, fun neighbors would be a plus. Especially if there was a Noah next door, a man who was quiet, funny and supportive.

Very cute story about a Type A workaholic being called home to the place she treasured as a young child - her grandmother's place, filled with love, care, the smell of apples and gardens, which is opposite of where she currently is. She doesn't think she can stand the quiet, being so used to big city living with all the sounds, the stress, and the pressure. The little girl inside may have other ideas.

I will definitely come back to this series in September. I felt like autumn the entire time I was reading this book. So, I will read this one again and continue the series in September. I can’t wait. Too saccharine

The story was clearly inspired by far too many truly marginal Hallmark movies. I honestly struggled to finish it because the writing was nauseatingly sweet. Rosie Callahan evidently tried desperately to model her writing style after Brooke Skie, but fell well short of the mark.
I doubt I’ll brave another of her books.
