The Milat Letters Innocent or guilty? This book contains letters from Ivan Milat who is serving seven life sentences for the murders of seven backpackers. They say he had someone or others with him which we will never know. He still denies his guilt in the brutal murders that were carried out in the Belanglo forest. He has been inside for twenty years now. He is in supermax at Goulburn. One of our highest security goals in Australia. He has been on hunger strikes, Even cut off his finger and wrapped it in paper And put it in an envelope addressed To the judge who has been rejecting his appeal Applications as he protests his innocence. Look into the mind of an infamous crazed killer who had no mercy on his victims. You could find this book an interesting story about the way Ivan thinks. An infamous killer pleading for his innocence.
This book is just a compilation of the letters Ivan Milat wrote his nephew. While it is interesting to see ramblings of a man who is going more and more stir crazy, the book itself had little to no effort put into it. Some of the letters would have been nice to have come context from the author/nephew. Also in the foreword his nephew stated that he did not want to bring up innocence or guilt but to present the letters and let us decide, however the book illustration is splattered in blood and has the knife and guns in it. If he wanted readers to be impartial I feel these would not be the best illustrations to choose. This just feels like a cash grab to me and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Found this book some what interesting, though full of denial. Would of been better if the letters sent with the responses to each letter. I mean reading replies to letters was a bit confusing. Ivan has been found guilty of a crime he was found guilty of doing. Ridiculing the police involved, the publishers of his book when they were doing there jobs is always the case with a guilty man.
