In the swamplands of the Florida panhandle, in the little town of Dowde, you’ll findThe Crew of Dowde
Nine friendsTogether since they were toddlers They were the outcasts The outsiders Tragedy strikes them all at different points They always make it through together
Early into adulthood the baby of the crew is brutally attacked and assaulted Her attackers released without so much as a slap on the wrist Her dad brings the crew together to take matters into their own hands so she’ll feel safe again
After that first kill, more calls to end those that thought they got away came in
Suddenly they find themselves getting paid to serve their own justice. Job after job. Kill after kill. Scumbag after scumbag. Doing what no one else does.
After years of freelancing and excelling They’re approached by Frequency A network that does exactly what they’ve been doing-- Dishing out justice where it’s not served as it should be Equipped with superior technology, training and financial backing Access to resources beyond their wildest dreams Endless lists of criminals to remove.
***The Crew is thriving. Frequency jobs are being executed without issue. Their town has grown to respect the local outcasts. They watch and protect their community. Life is exactly as it should be.
Until it isn't.
A contact within Frequency informs the Crew to lay low after taking out a portion of what seemed like a small group. Turns out it isn't so small. It's countrywide and they've been active for decades. Now the Crew might have a target on their backs. With the news of them possibly being tracked and watched, the guys all become hyper aware of everything in their small town.
A recently widowed, single mother moves to Dowde the same day they're informed of this group. She strikes an instant friendship with one of the women. She refuses all offers of connection to anyone else in the Crew. Paranoia sets in and the Crew can't help but wonder if she's connected to what their contact gave them somehow.
Is the late husband of this widow one of the Crews jobs? Has she been sent to watch them? The timing of her move is too coincidental. Or is it deeper than they realized it could be?
⭐️🖤⭐️🅱🅾🅾🅺 🆁🅴🆅🅸🅴🆆⭐️🖤⭐ Gravity by S Vixyn is book one on the Dowde Crew series and is scheduled to be released on July 17th. Gravity is a love after loss, found family, instant attraction, obsessed MMC, pierced, small-town, secret societies, strong FMC, touch her, and ☠️ debut novel. I was not prepared for the emotional rollercoaster this dark romance had me on, but I loved every single minute of it, and I can’t wait for Vitality! I highly recommend everyone add Gravity to their TBR!
I received an Advance Reader Copy (ARC) of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own and were not influenced by the author or publisher.
As this was a pre-release edition, some content may differ from the final published version
Book 1 in the Dowde Crew series: Brody and Trina. This is a love after loss, single mom, secret organization, instant attraction, strong and feisty widow FMC, OTT protective morally grey hero MMC, touch her and d!e, hitman/vigilante MMC, autism rep. (FMCs daughter), both have sworn off relationships, small town, found family, size difference, dark romance. First and foremost, I gotta say right of the bat that the found family trope is one of my all time favorite tropes and this book did it perfectly! Every single character and the friend/family dynamic between them was incredible. I couldn’t get enough. This is definitely a true and pure found family. I absolutely loved this read. Brody and Trina are absolutely perfect for each other and I loved reading their story. This man fell HARD. Who doesn’t love an over the top obsessed and possessive MMC and he really was perfect. I loved that Trina could dish it out just as hard and that they were each others match. I was so locked into the read and all its twists and turns. This being S. Vixyn’s debut novel is incredible and I will read anything she writes from now on. I can’t recommend this book enough and I cannot wait to continue the series!
There aren’t enough stars available for this book. This was incredible! By far one of the best books I’ve ever read. Girl, you did your homework and then some. This story felt so real, so relatable. A justice system that at times I wish really existed. This crew Took. Out. The. Trash. No regrets. I loved that. I loved the personalities of each of them. And I definitely loved Trina and Brody. These two were the highlight of this story. They were like the cherry on top. They balanced the good with the bad and I couldn’t get enough of them. It was amazing seeing the work that they did and then have a company want them to work with them and be backed by them? Hell yeah. This book was intense, and chaotic. It was thrilling and kept me tightly bound to this story. If I could’ve devoured this in one day, I would’ve. I was completely obsessed with this. It brought every emotion, and I felt every single one of them. My heart broke for Trina. Losing her husband, being under suspicion after the crew was told to lay low because someone was cutting them down. But when they realized she wasn’t there for them 🥹. Her and Brody were truly the perfect pair. Fun and loving, goofy and serious. True joys to my heart. Now let’s get down and dirty with that spice…🥵🔥 there was nothing left out. Talk about getting hot and naughty. Down and dirty. I had to take two showers after this book. Cuz dayum! Take it to the finish line! There was nothing lacking in this department. Loved every dirty and wickedly delicious moment. And trust me, I backtracked a few times 😉. When it comes down to it, this is a very well written story with a beautiful depth, characters that felt real, and description to rival others. I am so blessed to have been able to read this bad boy as an ARC. Thank you very much Ms. Vixyn. ❤️ I hope to read the next one in line.

I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. It read to me like a movie. The characters developed into one another so very well. The relationship that the characters had with one another were unbelievable. The relationship was like Dom and his crew from fast and furious. This book gripped me from head to toe and I felt it absolutely everywhere. You have forced proximity, tattoos, edging, passion, yearning , hard-core motorcycles, Ford F150s. The MMC has six piercings down below. I’m telling you not only is this book Hot hot hot, but the plot is well well well written.
The FMC is a widow with an eight year-old daughter that has a disability. Her husband that passed was a police officer. She couldn’t bear living in her home anymore, so she moved to a small town. You think that she’s there out of chance, but it turns out that nothing is by chance.
I am so thankful that the author shared this read with me. I hope everyone enjoys it the way that I have.

This book was amazing!! Tension, drama and so much spice! I loved the Crew and all the chaos that came with them. They all had a heart of gold and I loved how easily they accepted Tiny and Addie into their family. Found family is one of my favourite tropes! I absolutely can’t wait to read more of the series! Thank you so much for the opportunity of being in this amazing ARC team!
5 ⭐ 3-4/5 🌶 It is very explicit but it's not a lot. Tropes: Found family Deep rooted friendships Touch her and 💀 Single parent Tattoos/tattoo artist Pierced (both MC's) Instant attraction Secret society Fiesty FMC Over the top MMC (over the top male characters honestly 😅)
**CHECK THE TRIGGER WARNINGS!! This book is somewhat dark (in my opinion it's not that dark) with possible triggering scenes. Possible triggers, directly from the book, as follows:
-----NOTE------ this is a comprehensive list, it may not be a complete list & possibly may not include everything that could be considered a 'trigger' to some.---------
-Death of LEO spouse (off page and not descriptive) -Light BDSM (it is in fact light) -Child with autism (speech delay, brief on page melt downs, otherwise thriving) -Murder (some sanctioned by government alphabet, some not) -Death by forced laced OD -Death by Xylazine (tranquilizer used by veterinarians) -Pregnancy -Anal play/sex (consensual) -Edging -Forced orgasms -Restraints -Gagging -Blindfolding -Breeding kink/pregnancy fetish **Mentions of & off page triggers** -Trafficking (humans, weapons, & drugs) -SA -Kidnapping/disappearance of a loved one -Forced OD (this is also on page but it is mentioned as well) -Attempted suicide
First off, Mrs S Vixyn....miss ma'am, how dare you make me feel all of the feelings!!! Let me start off by saying I absolutely loved every single second of this book, so much. Brody, and even Trina are the dream/wish/fantasy partner(s). Everything about the MC's scream adult, emotional intelligence (minus the short fuses when it comes to the ones they love), logical & realistic mind sets, just freaking perfection. The rest of the characters are up there as well, but this book is about Brody and Trina, so that's who we see.
This book hurt my heart in the best possible way. It depicts the kind of over & relationship that most females want & wish for. I laughed, I swooned, I cried (happy & sad), & my heart felt like it burst from the happiness I felt towards the MC's. The yearning (what I consider to be yearning) is so freaking good on both sides. Those parts actually pulled on my heartstrings and made me tear up. It was so easy to imagine the characters engaging in the 'fluffy' love scenes, like Brody chasing Trina through the house (playful), or Trina letting go and acting ridiculous (she doesn't care what people think of her) dancing and singing to her favorite songs. The way that the love, trust, emotions, trauma, the freaking ADULT conversations that were written, is nothing short of amazing. This book made me cry happy tears due to the fact that I love love. I love seeing other people in love, I love reading about love, and this was some of the healthiest love that I've ever had depicted on paper. Yes there are dark aspects in this book, Brody works for an organization that deletes people off of the earth, but it doesn't really bleed into his personal life & it doesn't really seem to make him a 'darker' person. He is morally gray & will burn the world, & kill, for Trina (obviously excluding their loved ones). That is the ultimate partner fantasy, in my opinion. The sad tears came when I realized that I was actually a little jealous of Trina. The fact that Brody is showing her that he cares, makes her feel loved, safe, desirable, and absolutely sure of his feelings toward her.
Okay, mushy feelings aside, the plot/timeline of this book was so well written. Every single thing that happened in this book, happened in chronological order. All of it flowed so well together that a reader will never be lost in what's happening. The spice in this book is described very well and it's very tasteful but it is still explicit. There were some typos, well what I would consider typos, like the . missing from Ms, or a comma &/or apostrophe missing/misplaced. No ridiculously misspelled words or crazy grammatical errors that I noticed. This book is the first of what I believe to be interconnected stand-alones of the Dowde Crew because of the epilogue. I cannot wait to see how the other characters' books mesh with this one.
Bottom line, this book has romance, love, spice, family (real family, the ones you choose), & emotions. This book is not a waste of time. Buy it, read it, & hopefully you love it as much as this reader does.
Thank you S. Vixyn for the opportunity to ARC this. I am leaving a review voluntarily.
Excuse me while I pick my jaw up off the floor. This was such an amazing book!!! 600 pages that kept me engaged the ENTIRE TIME and kept me guessing from start to finish. When I say that the next book coming in the fall can't come soon enough, I am not joking with you.
The way that the author brought in this single mom struggling to mentally make it after her husband's passing while raising a beautiful daughter with autism, you can feel her need for love and for a place to belong. The way that our MMC comes in and LOVES them BOTH fiercely makes my heart just so freaking happy.
Now that we have that noted - the SPICE WAS DELICIOUS!! Multiple pages for one scene and the amount of detail was finger licking good!! This is one of those books that your other half will appreciate you reading because... phew!!! It was so good. But how good? Here's some microtropes: - Toys are most definitely friends - He's pierced - both tongue and *wink* below - She's pierced - her cherries - Gags, spanking, ropes, masks... - You look so pretty when your mouth is wrapped around *cough* - Your *cough* was made for me (Children could see this page, I'm protecting, just read the book!!!!)
I am SO thankful I got to read this book as an ARC book because I LOVED IT SO MUCH. If you need a book that gives Found Family a whole new meaning, a motorcycle club who protects women and children, and a couple that has a delicious bedroom life, this right here is the book for you!!
The story made me feel like I was right there with the characters. The found family aspect, the way the Crew looks out for each other and their ladies was playful but so protective.
I enjoyed that the spice didn't take away from the plot, it just enhanced it. Brody and Trina's relationship had sparks flying, so much chemistry.
The plot itself flowed well, knowing what the Crew does for jobs, makes the story intense at times.
The way Brody protects Trina, talks her down when needed and let her take the show at times, was wonderful. Trina is a fiesty FMC and I loved that no matter who it was, she was ready to fight for her loved ones.
My favorite part of this story is the found family aspect. There are a couple of side characters, that when brought together, are passionate about what they set out to do job wise, & you really get to know them while reading, see how they love fiercely and with such devotion.
This isn't a full MC Romance but feels like it if that makes sense. It's a bit long winded, some things could have been condense. I'm enjoying it for the spice for the most part. 5 star spice level! It's a mystery as to whom they have to find as they are not sure who it is. Brody is a bit suspicious as the new woman and her child come into their small town. But as he gets to know her, he falls for her and her child. Trina comes to a new place to get away from memories of the lives she lived with her husband who passed away. She has an adorable autistic daughter who is loved by Brody and the group of friends. I love the bond of the friendship. I would want to continue to read the series to read about the other characters' stories too. Good read overall.
