This novella is included into Love Without Boundaries.

Lord Oryon and Lady Isis of House Rigel are returning home from a historic meeting of the Assembly of Lords. Their universe has drastically changed in the last weeks since they arrived on Tornian and both are trying to adjust.

For Oryon, he was amazed how his Isis had blossomed. The support and companionship of the Earth females had given her a confidence he had never realized she lacked. She now touched him as she said she had always wanted to. She rested with him every night and was demanding to take a more active role in their lives.

For Isis, she couldn’t believe the things Earth females considered normal, things that she had never known were possible. Resting with a male. Going when and where they wanted to go and talking to whomever they wanted. Being involved in the running of their own House and then there were the amazing things they had told her that males and females could do together… during Joining.

House Rigel is going to be turned upside down and not everyone is going to be receptive to these changes.

If you really want to read a book about a couple that has been married for 25 years, you can read one about me and my husband and find it just as entertaining as this one. But, we are funnier. Much funnier.

I really enjoyed this novella. Yes, the Torian's are still assholes. But I loved seeing the relationship between Isis (terribly unfortunate name) and Oryon blossom after 25 years. I liked that her relationship with her son improved and that she really came into her own with her new outlook on life. Now I can only hope that more females will step up and stop being cold bitches.

Oryon was so happy and I loved how he happily told everyone about how much he loved Isis and that they should respect her and listen to her. It is sad that they lost 25 years of being close by behaving in a way neither wanted in order to confirm to society, but they are still such an inspirational couple.

I know she is 43, but I hope they have a baby girl one day soon.

Safety gang safe

I love reading about Ynyr's father & mother - Lord Oryon and Lady Isis. Oryon is one of the loyal Lords of King Wray.

*****Re-read for the 2nd time*****
I really enjoyed this book. I liked re-reading this book about Oryon and Isis and even though they've been together for 25 years I like how the their lives are affected by the new changes in the Empire. I like that Isis makes changes to her life almost instantaneously. For example she has always asked Oryon to see their home from space, but has never done that and after the first few years of being together she stopped asking. Now she realizes she could just go to the observation deck and see it herself without having to wait for Oryon to bring her.

A novella that continues the Tornian series, Oryn surprised me for I didn’t expect to like it. Lord Oryon and Lady Isis of House Rigel are coming home after meeting with the females from Earth for the first time.

I was afraid there would be nothing new to add to a story of a rare couple that has been together for a long time. I was wrong.

The idea that women ruled and were cherished by their males could not be more wrong. It seems they were valued basically for breeding, and behaved accordingly. They lived segrated, even from their male offspring. A behavior based on attitudes from both males and females. Therefore, there is a lot to be changed.

Even Oryon and Isis have to revalue their relationship, and it’s good to see they are able to improve it and discover how happier they can be. But change doesn't come easily, and they will face a considerable opposition.

I enjoyed it and rated it with 3 stars. I prefered the first two books, if you don't know the series yet start from the beggining. I recommend it.

Originally I didn't think I was going to like this story. I mean, seriously they are already married so what's the big deal. I was pleasantly surprised. Their story is well written and just long enough that you don't get bored with them. The only thing I don't understand is that they are constantly telling us that women have all of the power because they are breeders, yet, they tend to treat women like they are less than the men. The "how dare she speak to me that way. She is a female", type of mentality is not what I would think you would find when referring to someone you hold in such high esteem and "reverence". It just seems to be the opposite of how they say they treat women. In all, I enjoyed their story more than their son's. I would loan this book to a friend. TTFN-Elise.

A story about a married for 25 years' couple might be boring. Not this one. I definitely enjoyed reading about Oryon and Isis and I can't wait to see what the Goddess has in store for them. It seems she will be quite merciful to them. All the female babies!!!! :)

Series: Tornians #3.5
Rating: 4 stars - It was really good

This story is about Lord Oryon and Lady Isis on their return home from the Joining Ceremony. Their world has just drastically changed and everyone is still adjusting to the changes. Isis has realized she wants to stand beside Oryon and be a part of everything in his life. She pushes for change and challenges everything people know about Tornian females. House Rigel is being turned upside down by all the changes and not everyone is accepting of it.

I liked this quick novella about Oryon and Isis. They are the only couple that has stayed together in recent Tornian history and have four males because of it. Even though they have been together for 25 years they have continued to conform to Tornian tradition and Isis has still been secluded. Now their relationship is blooming again and together they will make a stronger house. I also loved how she develops a stronger relationship with her sons.

Overall, a nice story for the OG couple. I really can’t wait for the next book!

Well again with this book. Nothing but having warriors move furniture. I don't think I've ever read a book where the Heros parents are the spinoff couple. Odd turn in the series for sure.

Wish upon a star

This has to be one of my absolute favorite series, and one of my favorite books in it. Well, so far anyway. I absolutely loved this couple! They have been through so much with little to no support, and now it’s their time to shine. But not without a few hiccups along the way. The author really drove home how the ladies of the empire have been under appreciated in the past, and not everything is as it should be. I enjoyed watching their relationship with each other and their males blossom throughout the story and I can only hope that the other shows us how blessed these two are by the Goddess in the rest of the series. This story was a quick read that I didn’t want to end. I can’t wait to see what happens next!

God I love this whole series. Every single book (except Wray, which I've been afraid to read because I'm concerned about the rape trigger) is just like delicious crack.

This shorter work is still extremely satisfying for all the reasons that Grim and Ynyr are:

Plucky woman telling the men how they're all wrong? Check.
All the (good) men realizing she's right and then immediately changing their behavior based on it? Check.
Sexy sex? Check.
Bad guy's plot unraveling in a satisfying way, with action and explosions and reversals and bloody fights? Check.
Furniture arranging and interior decorating? Check.

It was interesting to read about an old married Tournian couple rather than the Tournian warrior + plucky Earth female of the previous books, but it still worked. I loved reading about Isis and Oryon. They had plenty of discoveries about sex, which hadn't been done in the previous novels, so those scenes felt fresh and interesting. And MKE writes great scenes of mothers and children, so I enjoyed those touching moments too.

Grim is still my favorite. Despite its major spelling/grammar problem, there's just something about the "wounded warrior redeemed by a no-nonsense heroine" that appeals to me on a deep level. Oryon had much better editing, with only a few wrong words ("too" when it should have been "to" for example.) But they didn't interfere with my comprehension or enjoyment, and I thought this novella was even better done than Ynyr, so I will probably reread.

Can't wait for the next one in the series!

This story was good but very short, That is my main complaint.

It takes place right around the same time as book 3, Ynyr's story.

I liked that Isis defied tradition and stayed with the man that she loved.
It comes out that she had a major role in her children's rearing yet her sons never knew,
I found that rather odd, especially, since they were shocked by her participating in her sons growing up?
If she defied tradition and stayed with Oryon, then why would anything else she did or did not do
surprise anyone?

Brilliant addition to the Tornian series. I was drawn to Isis and Oryon in Grim and was intrigued by their story. I'm so glad I got to see them in their own right. It didn't disappoint. The characters it introduced were well rounded and I want to read their stories too, especially Vali's. Overall, the themes of honour, trust and love continued to be central in this story and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Looking forward to the rest of the series. Highly recommend.

I really enjoyed this little in-between book. The story takes place in House Rigel and Lady Isis finally comes into her own and becomes the women she's always wanted to be.

I love how she sexually experiments with her husband Oryon and he's freaking out but loving it as well.

I hope she has the girl she desires and that her remaining single sons find females.

***MINOR SPOILERS***
This book is part of the Tornian series. Some of the characters from other books are mentioned or appear. Oryon and Isis have 4 children and 2 are featured in their own books: Ynyr and Ull.
I had been looking forward to reading this book. I saw how Isis had seen how the human women were changing their world and I wanted to see her try out some new ways of doing things. She had already challenged some conventional ways of doing things and, in this novella, she makes changes because of the way humans look at relationships and how they interact with the Tornian world. Isis is a product of Tornian history, but she embraces the new possibilities.
The Tornians have a severe shortage of females. It has upended their society and females control relationships. Males are the warriors and are in charge of protecting their females and their houses. Isis and Oryon have been criticized for staying together when Isis could have gone on to another male. Later in the book, you find out that Oryon had concerns about losing Isis.
Oryon has always loved Isis and vice versa. Oryon has also seen the changes that is happening to the Tornian society because of the humans. Unlike many other males, he is accepting of the change and supports Isis in trying out her wings in this new way.
I liked the relationship development between them. They both wanted the relationship to succeed and were open with each other.
It was also good to see Isis and Oryon’s relationship and care for their children. They are wonderful parents.
There are several editing mistakes throughout the book.
The point of view switches between Isis and Oryon.
Isis and Oryon’s son, Ull, appears and is having a hard time with the changes that the humans are bringing to Tornian society. He is also having hard time with the fact that his brother, Ynyr, has become a lord before he has. Ull is featured in a later book in the series. Ynyr’s story was told in a previous book. There is a sweet moment between Isis and her second son.
I liked this book. I decided to continue on to the next book in the series.

Wonderful!

This whole series builds gradually until the reader is totally immersed in the world of the Tornian's and wishing they could stay!

I listened to the first four books on Audible and enjoyed them immensely! I found myself ignoring everything around me and listened until the finish. I couldn't pry myself away! It's a good thing I am retired/disabled so I didn't have to make excuses to anyone but my husband, lol!

Seriously, I have finished very FEW series because our income is severely limited but I just had to know what was happening to the Tornian Empire, so I purchased the other books.

The Audible books are incredible with an excellent cast of voices that bring it to life as you listen. The narrator was exceptional, knowing just where to put emphasis. If you can afford it, I would definitely recommend listening to these books, even if you physically read them also. It is an experience worth having.

I really enjoyed the story. I don’t understand why all the female leads are always at risk of being raped. The villain in this story, was a thief. Isis unknowingly discovered his deception. He threw her across the room. That was more than enough abuse. No need of a threat of rape. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Isis just blossomed while being around the earth females. It was wonderful to see. Oryon changed as well. Although, he was always a good man, watching his Isis grow, changed him. You could see the love between them grow stronger. Her relationship with her children got stronger as well. Love it. This story, like Ynry’s, seems unfinished. I look forward to more.

Oryon has for years wanted what he thought he could not ask for. He has wanted his female to stay in his chambers even after the joining. To touch her without permission and cause. Now that Isis has been speaking with the earth females she has come into her own. And part of that is something they call kissing, which Oryon likes a lot. Isis also believes that it is now time to help her man run their house. But now all is on board with these changes. And a deadly plot is uncovered that would harm one or both of them.

clickTornians #3.5
Oryon by M.K. Eidem was originally published as part of an anthology and as a result is novella length. This book also, chronologically speaking, falls completely within the timeframe of Ynyr (Tornians #3). It is short, but sweet, covering only two days, but I can hardly wait to read further stories of this family.

Since reading this the first time, I have discovered that there is another series that falls within this universe which I have titled, "All the Known Universes" which is a statement often used in these books, and I thought it a good play on the word universe which is typically what something is called when two or more series are linked together. In this case, the Tornians and the Kaliszians. They are two very different species that are still similar. More similar in fact than I believe either of them realize yet. I am looking forward to how these series will unfold.

Now as for the reading order of these series… It’s not quite as straightforward as most series are and as a result, many arguments can be made for the order in which the books should be read within “All the Known Universes” as most of them significantly overlap chronologically with others. Therefore, as this universe contains two separate series thus far - the Tornians and the Kaliszians - it is somewhat important that the books are read in the order that advances the timeline/storyline best. If they aren’t, many surprises, twists and turns in the series will be spoiled, which may in turn take away from the universe’s overall enjoyment. I know this from personal experience, as I read A Grim Holiday immediately following Grim because that’s where it’s listed on the goodreads Tornians series list, thus spoiling an announcement/choice made at the end of Treyvon (Kaliszians #2), the most recent book published in this universe. This is why I am providing you with my suggested reading order below, in the hopes of helping you avoid the spoilers where possible.

All the Known Universes suggested reading order:
1. Grim (Tornians #1) - Grim Vasteri & Lisa Miller
2. Ynyr (Tornians #3) - Ynyr Rigal & Abby Jamison
3. Oryon (Tornians #3.5) – Oryon Rigal & Isis
4. Wray (Tornians #2) - Wray Vasteri & Kim Teel
5. Nikhil (Kaliszians #1) - Nikhil Kozar & Mackenzie (Mac) Wharton
6. Treyvon (Kaliszians #2) – Treyvon Rayner & Jennifer Neibeaur
7. A Grim Holiday (Tornians #1.5) - Grim, Lisa and the girls
8. A Grim Pet (Tornians #3.75) – Grim, Lisa and the girls
9. Ull (Tornians #4) – Ull Rigal & Trisha Burke
10. A Grim Baby (Tornians #5) – Grim, Lisa and their daughters
11. And hopefully many more to come…

Who would have thought? A book about a couple who has been married for 25 years. Seriously? But, it was worth the read. I am actually enjoying everything in this universe and it was important to understand the one couple who got it right in the Tornian Universe. Even though they were the relationship that went against the norm, they are still having to adjust. It becomes apparent how though, how absolutely crazy this world has been shaken.

Those crazy women from Earth and their crazy ideas! Fun, fun, fun......

I ended up breezing through the ENTIRE TORNIANS SERIES. So i am reviewing the series as a whole. Even the KALISZIANS SERIES which do go hand in hand.

YES, THERE ARE MANY ERRORS in the first few books. However IT DOES GET BETTER in my opinion and the overall STORY IS SO INTRICATE AND UNIQUE. I think its more than worth ignoring the errors. I understand there are many who can't get past it, I was honestly one of those, but I managed and it did get so much better in later books.

AMAZING STORY. I wish there was more as there is still so many characters who's lives I want to dive into and so many other species who need their stories told!! This is the first SCIENCE FICTION ROMANCE series that I just COULDN'T PUT DOWN until I devoured all the books, hungry to know the story of these new HONORABLE AND STRONG ALIENS.

Amazing series

I love how this author pulls everything together and includes even the goddesses in the conversation so you kind of know what's going on and you don't just get left hanging I don't like books that don't feel complete they kind of just throw stuff at you and this book is amazing it doesn't do that and the rest of the series is pretty amazing too I can't wait to get to the next book

this one was awesome. I really loved Isis when we first met her in the first book and knew that she had more of a story and I was so happy to find out that she and Oryon got to do that. even though she's stayed with her male the longest of any Tornian female she still learned a lot from the earth females about what couples do together. it was really sweet seeing them rediscover each other.

Such A Great Book

This book is just filled with good stuff from beginning to end. Very hard not to grant it 5stars. It was so filled with all the things we hope to find in a real fairy tail romance, only this one takes place with two people who are mature and have been together for years without being able to truly be together. Adorable

I love this couple! Yes! This was everything I wanted. Isis is boss and she was made to be the Lady of the house. She’s an amazing mom and I loved how she put her sons in their place. Her H stood behind her and allowed her to take her place as Lady of the house. I would love for a longer epilogue with her being pregnant with a daughter!

isis and airy on love that survive

Oryon was lord of his planet. He was held in high esteem to a point. Isis was the key to his whole world and possible downfall. For Isis she gains a strength she did not know she had. She gaines much in self and more.

I am very much enjoying the growth of the Tornians’ and the women they love.
