Very repetitive! Same thing, different chapter. Made it 100 pages and had to throw it in DNF.

May Read: Where No One Can Find You by J.E. Rowney Book II in the Survivor Stories Series. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was a dark, emotional thriller that hooked me from the beginning. The story follows Maggie, a twelve-year-old girl who has spent her entire life moving from place to place with her father. What she eventually realizes is horrifying: the man she trusts most is a predator who uses her to help lure victims. The premise alone is unsettling, but what really made this book stand out was seeing everything unfold through Maggie's eyes. Her fear, confusion, loyalty, and growing awareness felt believable and heartbreaking.
The strongest part of the novel was Maggie's internal struggle. She has been manipulated and isolated for years, making her decision to stand against her father incredibly difficult. The tension builds steadily as she tries to break free from the only life she has ever known. While some parts required a little suspension of disbelief, the emotional impact and psychological elements kept me invested.

“Where No One Can Find You” by J.E. Rowney hit me just as hard emotionally as the first book in the Survivor Series. This one is told from the perspective of the child of a serial killer, this story dives into some incredibly dark and heavy stuff. It’s intense, emotional, and at times difficult to process in the best possible way. The impact of this one stayed with me long after I finished. I genuinely had to sit and stare at the ceiling for a while just taking it all in. J.E. Rowney does such a great job pulling you into the emotional weight of the story. I absolutely loved it.

I still think of Where no one can hear you often, so I was really looking forward to diving into this one.
It didn't have me sobbing as much as the first installment, but Maggie's backstory was heartbreaking and it was definitely a very emotional read.
I enjoyed my time with it, and I'll be thinking of this one often too.

This was one of those rare books that completely pulled me in from the very first chapters. It was intense, emotional, and full of shocking moments that kept me turning the pages late into the night.

My heart absolutely broke for her. The life she endured, the pain she carried, and everything she had to face made her such a compelling and unforgettable character. I found myself hoping things would finally get better for her, and I became deeply invested in her journey.
J.E. Rowney did an incredible job creating an atmosphere filled with tension, suspense, and emotion. The story is dark but it’s also thought-provoking and impossible to put down. The pacing is excellent and the emotional impact lingers long after the final page.

Could have been 100 pages shorter. So many repetitive sentences it was like reading the same and the same again and again. Plot was interesting but it was exhausting to read

Where No One Can Find You was an absolutely fantastic follow up/prequel to the first book in the Survivor Stories series.
We first meet Maggie in book one, learning that she is the daughter of the killer. In book two, we get her story.
And it was more devastating than I was prepared for.
Maggie goes through it, her whole life. Literally from being five years old, she is exposed to the horror that is her father. Not that she understands at first what is going on, but when she realises? When this child realises that there is an incredibly dark side to her father? Devastating.
There was a satisfaction in this book - just like in the first book - in the way that you see the gradual shift in mindset occur.
There comes a point where she stops blaming herself and learns to see herself for what she really is - another of her father's victims, just in a different way.
Maggie was such a strong character, even if she couldn't see it most of the time, and my heart went out to her. I just wanted her to get somewhere safe, away from him, and live a good life. That is what kept me turning the pages.
I absolutely loved this book, in a different way to the way I loved book one. I am in awe of the realism on these pages. The subtle shifts, the reality of the characters, the pacing of the story.
If there is more to come for this series, I truly cannot wait.

This book follows Maggie as a 12-year-old, beginning to realise that the life she’s always known isn’t normal and that what her father is doing is terribly wrong. It takes us right back to the beginning, showing how everything unfolded before the events of No One Can Hear You another easy 5-star read for me.
This is a harrowing yet incredibly heartwarming story about Maggie’s life, her courage, and her escape from the control of her father. While some moments are difficult to read, they’re handled with sensitivity, making Maggie’s journey all the more powerful and unforgettable.
I became completely invested in Maggie’s story and would love to read more about her future, especially how her relationship with Amanda develops after everything they’ve been through.
Both books are absolute must-reads, and this series has made me a fan of J. E. Rowney’s writing. I’ll definitely be picking up more of their books in the future. 📚🖤

I am still thinking a lot about the first book in the series - Where No One Can Hear You - and had really been impatiently waiting for this one to drop. Just like book one, the story here is heavy. You sometimes want to look away - to stop reading - but you can't. This book does have you in your grip like a chokehold, and it's not going to let you go.
Just like I wanted to hold Maggie. I wanted to tell her it will be okay. I wanted to tell her that at one point, she can stop running. But can she really? When the man she is running from will do everything in his power to get her back?
All in all - I thought I would be ready for the emotional trauma. But I was not. And now excuse me while I spend the rest of the evening staring at a wall. Oh... and you all better go and read this book in the meantime!

For as long as she can remember, she has moved from motel to motel with her father, who tells her he is keeping her safe from a dangerous world.
Maggie eventually discovers a horrifying truth: her father doesn't just hurt people, he hunts them. He uses Maggie as bait, having her stand by the side of a path looking lost so that kind women will stop to help.
When one of the victims tries to run away, Maggie is forced to make an impossible choice. She must decide whether to stop the woman or save her, ultimately turning against the only person she has left. To escape her father's grasp, she must use the very survival and evasion skills he taught her.

This book was hard. I have no history like Maggie but I did have a family member raped and murdered when she was 18. I was 12 at the time and my parents didn’t tell me too many details. It wasn’t until my cousins, her siblings, got older and I got older that conversations filled in the blanks. This story as I said, was hard. I found myself holding my breath a lot and at the end of the book I let out a huge, long breath.
Thank God for Bill, and Claire, who opened a new door for this young woman. This book felt real, true crime real.
The author is great storyteller even though her stories are ‘t about pleasant things. They are about unexpected friendships, trust, and forgiveness. This book is a good read.

This book will be in my brain for a long time. It’s story of a serial killer told through the eyes of his young daughter who suddenly realizes at the age of 12 that he has been using her as bait. It’s emotionally gripping as she struggles with the knowledge of his crimes versus the affection he shows for her. The book takes a turn when she gets old enough to realize that she has been controlled and manipulated her entire life. I loved this book

I picked these books to read from my Amazon Kindle library. Read the 2 books in the right order for once. Amazing stories. I read every night and usually have no problem setting a book aside, but not these 2 in the series. Well written and keep you wanting to help Maggie somehow.

This is a strong 6 stars for me! Absolutely loved the first book and I thought there is no way this one could measure up. Boy, was I wrong! I am utterly destroyed and gutted by this story.

The first 200 pages are repetitive but haunting as this little girl recounts the tragedy that is her life. It is sad and gut-wrenching. And the last 150 pages I just had tears streaming. A story of trauma, courage, and surviving.
