This book had exactly the kind of emotional payoff I love.

Liam and Penny completely stole my heart. What starts as an unexpected night together turns into something neither of them planned, and I loved watching their connection grow into something so genuine. Penny is exhausted from a messy divorce and trying to hold everything together for her boys, while Liam is used to feeling like the backup choice. Together, they just fit.

It was the way Liam quietly became Penny’s biggest source of support that got me the most. He never tried to take over, he simply supported her, made her feel seen, and slowly became part of her little family. Watching him bond with her boys melted me, and I loved how their relationship was built on friendship, trust, and genuine care beneath all the chemistry and heat. The angst and unexpected twists kept me completely invested.

This was such a sweet, steamy, emotional romance, and I loved every minute of it. Liam and Penny made me laugh, swoon, stress, and root for them so hard. Seeing Liam finally realize he wasn’t meant to be anyone’s backup plan, but someone’s first choice, was incredibly satisfying.

Sweet, steamy, emotional, and completely addictive.

A huge thank you to Lisa Suzanne and Valentine PR for the ARC! 😍 All my bookish thoughts are completely my own. ✨

Liam & Penny were the best out of the blue connection that we should’ve seen coming. Sister’s best friend is almost as fun a trope as Brothers. That taboo, the sneaking around… it all adds that extra flair. Not that these two need extra flair, they are already blowing the roof of the place. The steam starts popping early and I was fanning myself by chapter 4. They may have known each other in the past, but once they’re alone they can’t keep their hands to themselves. In all those ‘connections’ they form even more bonds as they get to know each other inside and out. I loved how easily Liam saw her, and every time she needed to ‘handle’ a situation he was right there ready to help. He didn’t take over, but he supported her in ways she had never been. That quiet support is what made this story shine. For a man who never wanted a family, he seamlessly became one on day one meeting her kids. Liam’s friendship with Delores, his 65 yr old housekeeper is absolutely wonderful. And when the story twists, you are so invested in how things will turn out that you are glued to your seat. This story is both steamy and sweet and oh so cozy.

Ryan Lee Dunlop gave such a tender voice to Liam. He truly had such playful dad vibes that made us see Liam’s ease with kids. While also heating it up in the other scenes. Iykyk. Bridget Bordeaux is both the friend we all need and the best mom voice. The way she seamlessly cycles through all the modes of sìngle mom 101 was exhilarating. From frazzled to sultry and everything in between. The chemistry between these two made it feel like they had always been together. They truly breathed life into the story.

Great on Audio! 🎧
I really enjoyed this one!! && honestly, if I’d had read the previous books in the series, it probably would have been a five star. This book is book six of The Bradley Legacy series, and you can definitely read and enjoy it on its own, but I think it would be even better if you’ve read the other books. I will definitely be going back to read the previous books, while waiting for the last book in the series. This book was so swoony, so real and so emotional! We follow Penny, a mom of two boys that is going through a divorce, and is actually stuck living with her ex. Liam is Penny’s best friend’s little brother, and a football player. They run into each other at a bar and she tells him about her dilemma, and he tells her to move in with him, with her two boys. Liam has been playing as a backup quarterback, and has come to realize how lonely and empty his life has become. When Penny and the boys move in, he truly sees what he’s been missing out on. They start to form this beautiful family, but Liam may be moving to San Diego for a job and Penny is going through a messy divorce and custody battle. && things get even more complicated when Liam finds out that he has a baby of his own on the way. I loved this book! && I can’t wait to read the rest of the series! The audiobook was also great! Performed by Ryan Lee Dunlap & Bridget Bordeaux (who honestly has a very impressive man voice 🤣). They really brought these characters and their emotions to life and I loved every minute of it!

✨AUDIOBOOK & EBOOK REVIEW✨

I got hooked on the love story of Liam and Penny with their incredible chemistry and how much they both cared for each other. Liam was so adorable with her kids and the perfect father figure for them. They were exactly what they each needed in a partner and even with the age gap between them and the forbidden aspect of their relationship, they couldn't stay away from each other.

I did immersive reading with the audiobook and totally loved it! The audiobook is performed in dual narration by Bridget Bordeaux and Ryan Lee Dunlap. They were both incredible at bringing the characters of Penny and Liam to life. Bridget was amazing with the emotional scenes and you could feel all the emotions behind her voice. Ryan was perfect as Liam and we couldn't have asked for a better voice for him.

This was my first book by Lisa Suzanne and even though it's book 6 in The Bradley Legacy series, it can easily be read as a standalone.

I have loved every book in this series, and Liam you did not disappoint. Liam and Penny had a night out, with a deeper connection, but that he continues to show up for her, is heartwarming and swoon worthy.

Liam is the youngest of the Bradfords, the back up quarterback for his team, and never anyone’s first choice. Until Penny.

Penny is a single mom. In the middle of a messy divorce, what is supposed to be a night out to forget the mess becomes so much more.

Outside forces keep things messy, but the connection and support Liam and Penny show each other makes this story. The balance of chaos, second chances, romance, found family and so much more makes this one of the best books in the series.

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review

I love the Bradley family and I didn’t know what to expect with Liam - but he delivered over and over again in this book. The one night stand with his sisters bestie turns into way more than either he or Penny bargained for. I love how he showed up for her over and over again - and her boys. I wasn’t sure how Izzy fit in but I liked how it all worked out. I love this family and how they each found love - lisa Suzanne knows how to write a great love story. And the spice!? Yes please for the dirty talking football player. Highly recommend!

Omg Liam, he’s so up there with Archer and Dex! Ughh, melted!! Liam is the QB brother; he falls in love with his older sister’s best friend. She’s a soon-to-be divorced mother of
two, and he falls with every side of her. The single carefree woman, the nurturing mother, his sister’s best friend, but most importantly - the partner.

They definitely have their issues, their secrets, and doubts. Liam has a shocking surprise that alters his life, but after realizing they are absolutely right for each other and head over heels for one another, and Liam being so in love with her sons as well, Penny, with Liam’s surprise, finds their beautiful HEA.

Such a sweet, funny, sexy book, made even more so by narrator Ryan Lee Dunlap’s always unforgettable delivery. That little twang that never quite disappears, the range of emotions, the pace. Always a treat.

Backup Plan is the sixth book in author Lisa Suzanne’s The Bradley Legacy series. By now we’ve met all the Bradley siblings and watched most of them get their HEAs; not always easy, but always entertaining. Now it’s time for youngest brother Liam’s story.

Liam is a talented NFL quarterback, but he’s always the backup and he’s tired of being the backup plan – he wants to be THE PLAN. When we first encounter Liam he’s in the Bradley hometown of Chicago, impatiently waiting – and desperately hoping – to be picked up by another team since Pittsburg didn’t renew his rookie contract. Everything in his life is unsettled: his mother recently died, his father is awaiting trial for operating illegal casinos and his love life is blah. He heads down to the corner watering hole for a little sorrow-drowning. He’s a young, hot, handsome guy; maybe someone will catch his eye and brighten his night for a few hours.

Someone sure does. Penny’s life is unsettled, too: her husband’s cheating was exposed on the Jumbotron and went viral. They are in the middle of a very contentious divorce. Brent won’t agree to anything she requests; he’s rude, cruel, ignores their two little boys Sammy and Benjy but insists on his “deserved” visits and refuses to buy her out of their shared house so their house is still shared. Very uncomfortably shared. She doesn’t want to go home yet after a late business meeting and stops in the bar to unwind.

Penny isn’t just anyone who catches Liam’s eye, she’s his older sister Everly’s best friend. He recognizes her and they begin to talk. Liam is a natural helper, and after a few drinks and a lot of conversation he offers her and the boys rooms in his penthouse to get out of the tense environment she’s currently in. To be expected from Liam, because he always steps in to fix things; what’s not so expected is after those few-turned-into-several drinks and lots more comfortable, pleasant, fun conversation he also invites her to the penthouse the night.

It’s scandalous (or so they think). She’s about seven years older than his 26, about to be divorced, and what would his sister think? But it’s only one night and he’s finally received an offer from the San Diego Storm (of course it’s another back up offer) so they won’t really be seeing each other again anyway. He does convince her to move in with the boys but everyone will have their own room and they don’t intend or plan on any hanky-panky. Intentions are good, but sometimes plans change. They discover a strong attraction between them and Liam and 7-year-old Sammy and 5-year-old Benjy bond almost instantly. This new “family life” feels good.

Backup Plan is full of fun and romance and emotion and tough decisions. Liam and Penny feel so good, so natural together but they delay sharing their relationship with Everly or anyone else far too long. Penny’s almost-ex is more difficult by the day and will stop at nothing to get the upper hand. Amidst all the fun and laughter and good times are custody fights and neglectful parents, a giant surprise in Liam’s life and misunderstandings and fear to move forward. What we wish and dream (and deserve) isn’t always what we get. And he does not want to be Penny’s backup plan.

I received an advance listening copy of Backup Plan. As noted above, Ryan Lee Dunlap’s performance as Liam was perfection as always: the right tone, pace, emotion, a voice I could listen to all day. Bridget Bordeaux expertly portrayed Penny as a thirty-something mom who is so overwhelmed and beaten down you can’t help but want to wrap her in a hug and take her away: way too much on her plate - a job that’s okay but not her dream, two little boys she loves beyond measure but the raising of those boys has always fallen to her, and she’s afraid of what level Brent might stoop to in order to make her even more miserable. Liam is a bright light she never expected but how can that ever work out. Bordeaux gives us all that in a vibrant, very emotional performance. I enjoyed Backup Plan and recommend it without hesitation. I voluntarily leave this review; all opinions are my own.

Backup Plan brings us back to the Bradley family for Liam's story, and once again Lisa Suzanne delivers an emotional sports romance filled with heart, family, and characters you can't help but root for. Having loved every previous installment, I had high expectations going in, and this book absolutely didn't disappoint.

Liam and Penny are incredibly lovable together. What starts as one unexpected night quickly evolves into a relationship built on friendship, trust, and genuine emotional support. Their chemistry feels effortless, but what really sold me was how naturally their relationship developed. Nothing felt rushed, and watching them slowly become each other's safe place made the romance all the more rewarding.

This isn't just a love story between two adults. Penny's two young boys become an important part of the relationship, and seeing Liam bond with them completely stole my heart. Those quieter family moments gave the story so much warmth and made Liam an even more endearing hero.

Lisa Suzanne once again creates characters who grow together, struggle together, and continually put the people they love first. There are several unexpected twists along the way that kept me invested, but the emotional core of the story always remains front and center.

And honestly... every time I return to the Bradley family, it feels like coming home.

What I Loved

✔️ Sweet, caring hero who falls first
✔️ Single-mom romance done beautifully
✔️ Liam's relationship with Penny's sons
✔️ Emotional story with several unexpected twists
✔️ Strong family dynamics throughout
✔️ Bradley family cameos
✔️ Romance built on trust and friendship

🎧 Narration

Performed in dual narration by Bridget Bordeaux and Ryan Lee Dunlap.

This audiobook was an absolute joy to listen to.

Bridget Bordeaux continues to amaze me with how effortlessly she switches between characters. There were moments where I genuinely forgot I was listening to dual narration because her male voice is just that convincing. She perfectly captured Penny's emotional journey, balancing vulnerability, strength, and warmth throughout.

Ryan Lee Dunlap was everything I wanted for Liam. He brought such an easygoing sweetness to the character while still delivering all the emotional moments beautifully. His performance made Liam impossible not to fall in love with.

Together, they created fantastic chemistry that elevated an already wonderful romance into an audiobook I'd happily recommend.

Final Thoughts

Backup Plan is another wonderful addition to The Bradley Legacy. It perfectly balances romance, family, emotional healing, and a few surprising twists without ever feeling overly dramatic. Liam is one of those genuinely good heroes you can't help but adore, and watching him become part of Penny's little family was easily my favorite part of the story.

If you enjoy football romances with single moms, heroes who fall first, found-family vibes, emotional growth, lovable kids, and a romance built on trust rather than unnecessary drama, Backup Plan is absolutely worth adding to your TBR.

Liza Suzanne has done it again! Backup Plan is everything I love in a romance—emotional, heartfelt, full of angst, and packed with characters you can't help but root for.

Liam Bradley has spent his entire life feeling like the backup plan. As a second-string NFL quarterback and the youngest Bradley sibling, he's constantly battling the feeling that he'll never be anyone's first choice. Watching him finally find someone who sees him for exactly who he is made this story so rewarding.

Penny was such a strong and relatable heroine. She's in the middle of a painful divorce, still living with her manipulative soon-to-be ex while trying to protect her two young boys. When she unexpectedly reconnects with Liam, her best friend's younger brother during a chance night out, what was supposed to be one unforgettable night turns into something so much deeper. Their chemistry was undeniable from the beginning, but it was the emotional connection between them that really stole my heart.

One of my favorite parts of the book was watching Liam naturally step into Penny's life with her boys. He wasn't trying to replace anyone, but he simply loved them, and they became a family long before anyone was willing to admit it. The secret relationship added just the right amount of tension without feeling overdone.

Then Liza absolutely ripped my heart out.

Just when Liam and Penny finally seem to have found happiness, Liam discovers that a one-night stand resulted in a pregnancy. Isabella's decision to let Liam raise the baby rather than place the child for adoption completely changes the course of his life. Add in his trade to a new team and Penny's vindictive ex using the pregnancy against them during the divorce, and the heartbreak was almost unbearable. Liam ending the relationship to protect Penny was devastating because you could feel how deeply they loved each other.

Thankfully, Penny finally realizes what truly motivates her ex, money and control and makes the ultimate sacrifice by giving up any claim to child or spousal support in exchange for full custody and the freedom to relocate. It was such a powerful moment that showed just how fiercely she loves her children.

The ending was everything I wanted. Liam embracing fatherhood while realizing that Penny and her boys were the family he truly wanted made for such a satisfying happily ever after. Watching them become a blended family with Liam's newborn was incredibly heartwarming.

This book perfectly balances romance, family, second chances, found family, and emotional growth. Liam's journey from always feeling like second best to finally becoming someone's first choice was beautifully written, and Penny was the perfect partner for him.

If you've been following The Bradley Legacy, Liam's story is absolutely worth the wait. It's emotional, swoony, and filled with all the heart that has made this series so addictive. I laughed, cried, stressed, and smiled my way through every chapter.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An emotional, family-centered romance that proves sometimes your backup plan turns out to be exactly the life you were meant to have.

Book 6 in the Bradley Legacy

This was a fun, flirty, passionate fueled journey.
Steamy, "forbidden", tension filled and emotionally charged, Liam & Penny will have you begging for more from the very beginning. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll definitely scream in frustration but mostly you'll be rooting for these two from the very start. With high heat and intense chemistry these two will absolutely set you on fire!!!

Fate has a way of finding you when you least expect it and for these two, it's about to strike! A man walks into a bar and two lives are turned completely upside down and inside out, in the most delicious of ways...

Unsigned Free Agent Quarterback, Liam Bradley, is looking for a landing spot after being released from his rookie contract. With his life in turmoil and the unknown breathing down his neck, this irresistibly delicious man is determined more than ever to prove himself. Type A to his core, even more changes in his life are about to have him questioning everything that he ever thought he knew about himself or wanted out of life. Fiercely protective, endearingly sweet and all shades of charming, he'll have you swooning every chance he gets just by being himself.

A year after her husband embarrassed her by cheating for the whole world to see, Penny Calloway is still dealing with the fallout. Between a nasty, drawn out divorce, still living with her soon to be ex, working full time and parenting two very active little boys essentially on her own, she's at the end of her proverbial rope. Beautiful both inside and out, she's sweet yet fierce, loyal to a fault, prideful and extremely independent, so when she runs into her best friend's little brother and he offers her a place to stay, she's hesitant to say "yes"... Until she isn't.

Just like Stella, Penny has lost her groove and Liam is all too happy to help her find it! One hot, steamy night will lead these two down a path that neither expected. 'Hiding' in plain sight. Stolen moments. Heated glances. Giving into the temptation only makes them crave it even more. And as her chaotic little family descends upon Liam's quiet, orderly life, he finds himself quickly falling. Not only for Penny, but for her little boys too. Yet as feelings begin to grow into so much more, so do the doubts. Are they willing to lose everything by stepping out of the shadows? And with Liam now set to leave, could they make it work being so far apart? After all, she can't leave and he can no longer stay.

With twists and turns you won't see coming, the sparks are absolutely flying between these two from the very beginning... With so much heart and heat, against the odds, and a little detour along the way, these two will fight hard for their forever and it's oh, so sweet.

Take the journey. You won't regret it. The risk is so worth the reward as these two are absolute end game perfection!!

The Bradley "Legacy" strikes again...yet this time we have healing, reconciliation and the building of a whole new future... Together.

It’s a reverse age-gap romance for the youngest Bradley brother, Liam as he falls for Penny, his oldest sister’s best friend, after running into her in a bar where they’re both drowning their sorrows. Liam has just been let go by his team and no other team seems in any hurry to sign him, while Penny is reluctantly stuck living with her estranged husband while they try to figure out the mess surrounding their divorce and their two young sons. When Liam hears what Penny is dealing with, he immediately goes into fix-it mode and offers her his penthouse until her divorce is sorted. Of course, things get complicated pretty quickly when they end up spending that night together before she’s even had a chance to decide whether to move in!

Backup Plan was such a fun, easy-to-read book with all the feels and just the right amount of forbidden romance vibes thrown into the mix to add to the spice. Liam and Penny have undeniable chemistry, along with a genuine friendship and growing respect for one another which made their romance feel that much more believable. As with the best romances there are, of course, plenty of complications along the way, and things become increasingly difficult particularly when Penny’s soon to ex-husband decides to cause problems, creating tension between her and Liam especially once Liam receives a tempting job opportunity from an out-of-state team. But just when it seems as though everything is finally falling into place for them, an unexpected twist turns their lives upside down once again especially Liam’s, but I’m not saying anything more because spoilers! What I will say is that the story does a great job of showing him figuring out what and who really matters to him. As for Liam, honestly, as heroes go he might just be my favourite of the Bradley brothers! For such a dirty talker he was also incredibly sweet and so quick to step up for Penny, even when he had absolutely no idea what he was doing when it came to kids and I loved reading as he built a relationship with her sons. It was a lovely part of the story. I also liked that their age gap wasn’t made into some huge dramatic issue. Yes, Penny is several years older than Liam, but so what? After all, if the situation were reversed, and Liam was older nobody would bat an eyelid, and I loved that the story treated it exactly that way.

As always, there are plenty of strong family vibes, both from the existing family, and I loved catching up with familiar faces from the previous books and seeing how everyone is getting on but also the found family that develops as Liam and Penny find their footing together. Overall, Backup Plan was an enjoyable addition to the series. Great chemistry, a super-sweet hero, plenty of emotion, strong family feels and a romance that kept me invested from beginning to end. Definitely another touchdown for the Bradley brothers!

Backup Plan, part of the Bradley Legacy series by Lisa Suzanne, shines the spotlight on Liam Bradley, the youngest member of the family, and Penny Calloway, the best friend of Liam's older sister, Everleigh.

What I loved most about this story is that both Liam and Penny are genuinely kind, generous people. Their biggest flaw isn't selfishness...it's that they're constantly putting everyone else's needs ahead of their own. That made them incredibly relatable and easy to root for.

Although this is a football romance, don't expect a lot of sports action. Liam is between teams for most of the story, so the focus stays firmly on the romance and the characters' personal journeys. The drama is relatively low-stakes, making this a sweet, comforting read that's perfect if you're looking for something heartwarming without a lot of stress or angst.

I think this story resonated with me because I also tend to be a giver, sometimes at my own expense. I love seeing people succeed, and both Liam and Penny share that same selfless nature. Penny is navigating a difficult divorce while trying to support her two children on a modest income. Liam, who comes from a financially secure family, offers her and her children a place to stay in his condo while she gets back on her feet. His kindness never feels transactional...it simply reflects who he is.

Of course, living together means sparks begin to fly. But is starting a relationship during Penny's divorce the right move? And what would it mean for her friendship with Everleigh if she started dating her best friend's younger brother? To avoid complicating things, Liam and Penny decide to keep their growing relationship a secret. As it turns out, though, they aren't the only ones hiding something. I'll leave those surprises for you to discover because they're best experienced without spoilers!

The romance has several spicy scenes throughout the book, but they're brief and not overly explicit. If you typically hesitate to pick up romances because of steamy content, this one strikes a fairly balanced approach.

Overall, Backup Plan is a warm, feel-good romance about two compassionate people learning that it's okay to let someone care for them, too. If you're looking for a sweet friends-to-lovers romance with lovable characters, family dynamics, a touch of forbidden romance, and just enough drama to keep the pages turning, this is definitely one to add to your TBR!

Another wonderful story in this series by Lisa Suzanne and I still can't decide which is my favourite Bradley brother.
This is younger brother Liam Bradley's story and does he have a story..He's a Football player a quarterback...But he is always on the sidelines because he is always the back up Quarterback,he has been let go by his team and is waiting for a team to give him a chance, that team happens to be in San diego.
Penny is going through a bitter divorce, she has 2 children boys Benji and Sammy she is best friends with Liams sister. She needs a place to live so she can get away from her soon to be ex husband's cruelty.
They randomly bump into one another at a bar and chat and have a few drinks together, they are both going through big changes in their lives and take this one random meeting,to have a passionate night together.Getting lost in eachother for one night..But that one night changes EVERYTHING.
Liam offers her the option to move in with him until she finds a place of her own.
She excepts because she has no choice.
Liam is so freaking sexy and so sweet the way he interacts with Penny's boys is swoon and the way he is attentive to Penny OMG he is perfection.Except he doesn't do relationships apparently but Penny changes all of that, and under her spell he really does change as they embark on a secret relationship.
This is an age gap romance as Penny is 7 years older than Liam, not that you will notice the differences in age.Liam will do anything for Penny and give her anything.
I liked the honesty and vunerability that Liam showed when his feelings for Penny and her boys became apparent.
Penny is going through alot and she is a great mum to her boys, she is also very strong..Liam also changes her she learns what real love is and to ask for what she wants and needs...but her divorce is a shadow in her and Liam's growing relationship.
It does feel like there is everything against them, circumstances, distance, secrets and lies all getting in their way.
Narration is brilliant by Ryan Lee Dunlap and Bridget Bordeaux whose expressive portrayal of the characters in this story is exceptional,I really loved listening to them both, and relished their vocal storytelling.
Lisa Suzanne has written another compelling book and I am enjoying this series so much Back up Plan is a Fantastic edition to The Bradley Legacy.
Loved listening.

Backup Plan by Lisa Suzanne
Narrated by: Ryan Lee Dunlap and Bridget Bordeaux — 🎧Audiobook Review 🎧

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sometimes the backup plan turns out to be the best decision you never saw coming. 💕🔥

Backup Plan by Lisa Suzanne pulled me in with the perfect mix of romance, emotional tension, complicated feelings, and characters who had me invested in their story from the start.

This one definitely gave me those “I should probably stop listening… but I absolutely will not” vibes. 😂🎧 There were plenty of moments that had me swooning, stressing, and yelling at my headphones like the characters could actually hear me.

I loved watching the relationship develop and seeing all those messy emotions, unexpected twists, and vulnerable moments unfold. Lisa Suzanne knows how to create characters that feel real enough to make you care—and occasionally make you want to shake some sense into them. 😂

🎧 The audiobook narration was a great addition to the story. Narrated by: Ryan Lee Dunlap and Bridget Bordeaux, together they
brought the emotions and chemistry to life and made it incredibly easy to get lost in the audiobook. To say they did a fantastic job is an understatement. Definitely worth Having in your ears!

5 Stars.

Backup Plan
By Lisa Suzanne

The Bradley family has had it’s share of trouble. Thomas, the father, has involved his sons in some shady deals in a misguided attempt at legacy of the Bradley name. Recently, their mom passed away from cancer. The Bradley boys; Madden, Dex, Ford, Archer and Liam, are football and baseball players. There are two daughters Everleigh and Ivy.
This story is about the youngest son, Liam. Liam was playing his rookie season with Pittsburgh as the backup Quarterback. He was gone from practice and late many times due to his mother’s hospitalization and subsequent death. As a result, they did not renew his contract and now he is hoping another team will pick him up. It looks bleak. He seems to be always someone backup plan, never considered first. He is twenty-six years old and feels he is at a loose end. He lives in Chicago where he grew up. He leaves his penthouse and decides to go to the local tavern for a drink and some dinner, perhaps to make plans for a future.
Penny Wade Calloway is Everleigh’s best friend. Everleigh is Liam’s older sister, about 6-7 years older. She is going through a painful divorce. She has been married for eight years and together with Brent for over ten years. They have two children, Benji and Sami. Brent was found cheating and does not seem to care about the children.
Liam walks into the local tavern and sees Penny. They have a fun catching up and they talk about Everleigh’s coming wedding. Liam impulsively offers his penthouse as a place for Penny and the children to live while the divorce proceeds. As they drink, things turn steamy and they indulge in a one-night stand, but is it?
Liam falls for Penny and the children almost immediately. He then gets an offer from the San Diego Storm. How could this work, he will be leaving soon. Penny cannot come with him with the pending divorce. What if Everleigh finds out she is sleeping with her younger brother? What about their friendship?
This book was a fun one to read. Penny and Liam both deserve to be the first choice. There are so many variables that keep you reading (way past my bed time). The steam is awesome. The characters are interesting. There are unexpected events. I love Liam and Penny and the family they have created.

The Backup Plan is the sixth book in The Bradley Legacy series by Lisa Suzanne and it was worth the wait. Though her previous books in the series had mentioned Liam, I had no idea what to expect as we didn’t get much of a hint regarding what type of guy he was. Turns out he’s the best kind of guy. Liam Bradley is the youngest of the Bradley brothers and also a quarterback in the NFL. He was recently released by his current team and hoping to be signed by a new team while also dealing with the loss of his mother as well as his father’s trial for his illegal activities.
So he has returned to Chicago and one night runs into Penny at his local neighborhood bar. He knows Penny well – she is his older sister’s best friend – and they spend the evening drinking and talking. He learns about her ongoing divorce and the nightmare she is living dealing with and still living with her soon-to-be ex. The sparks start to fly and with her kids staying the night at her mother’s, she goes home with him and they spend an unforgettable night together. A secretive night together because they don’t want his sister to find out about it.
During this time, Liam offers his home up to Penny and her kids as a place to live while going through her divorce. It offers her the opportunity to get out of her current situation and away from the toxic environment created by her ex for both her and her kids. She eventually takes him up on the offer and their one-night-only night begins to turn into so much more. Liam is instantly drawn to her kids and her kids instantly fall in love with him. That alone just adds to how attractive Liam is to her.
Of course, their budding relationship runs into many twists and turns and bumps in the road and this is a wonderful story that shows how they handle these unexpected events and find their way back to each other. It’s a wonderful story of love and such selflessness in both Liam and Penny that you will stand up and cheer when they both get their true love and insta-family. I really enjoyed this latest book in this series as well as the numerous updates from many of his siblings that we’ve met in previous books. It also has us counting the days for Ivy’s story!

The Bradley’s are back with book 6 in the Bradley Legacy series by Lisa Suzanne. Backup Plan reminds us not all heroes wear capes. Sometimes they show up offering a place to stay, bring calm to the chaos, and make you remember you deserve all consuming love. Along with Lisa’s staple romance and emotional journey, I loved seeing the MMC be a person to the FMC’s kids that he didn’t have to be. My heartstrings were being tugged on continuously.

She may not have felt it all the time, but Penny is a strong woman and fierce mother. She is doing everything she can to keep her boys safe and cared for. Her divorce has been tough emotionally, physically, and mentally. She never thinks she could handle being in love again. When she takes her best friend’s younger brother’s offer to stay with him, she only thought she would find peace within her storm. What she finds instead is real love. The kind that sees past your imperfections, doesn’t hold grudges, and is unconditionally your partner.

Once Liam realizes he is in love with Penny, he holds nothing back. This man loves out loud, but doesn’t expect anything in return. As he shows Penny what real love feels like, he is also shown a love he’s never experienced before. The bond he creates with Penny’s kids is so cute and wholesome. He puts her and her boys above everything, even if it means his own happiness is put at jeopardy. He may be the younger of the two, but he is wise beyond his years and truly has a handle on things many his age don’t.

The way that each Bradley has been better than the last with Liam taking the trophy. Lisa has written such a sweet story. This book has dreams being realized, new dreams being made, and old dreams coming to an end. The love story extends past our MCs, which reminds us that love is limitless and there is plenty to go around. Lisa, you have perfected the sports romance stories and I am excited to see what happens with Ivy.

As always, review any author notes before reading.

What to Expect:
🏈Football Romance
✨Sister’s Best Friend
🏈Love After Divorce
✨Age Gap Romance
🏈Forced Proximity
✨Secret Relationship
🏈Single Mom FMC
✨Protective MMC
🏈He Falls First

I would give this book a million starts if I could because I just loved it so much!

I knew Liam Bradley was going to try to steal Dex and Archer’s first place in my heart, and he did it😭🩵 he totally did it!! He’s just so perfect! The way he bonded with Penny’s boys just instantly and how he learned to love them and taking care of them was so beautiful 🥹 and how he was willing to protect them and Penny even if that meant breaking his own heart and letting them go even for just a bit 😩😭🩵 he’s a care giver by heart and the moment he knew he was in love with Penny, was the moment he was willing to do anything for her and her boys 😭 since spoiling them to be there making sure they have enough Lego sets 🥹🙊 I just love him! I have anything else to say about him, because even when he chose the noble thing to do and tried to stay away from Penny even when that hurt them all, his intentions were pure and solely to protect them 😩🩵

And my girl Penny! I loooooove her! She’s just so brave and strong and resilient for her kids, she never thought she could fall in love again after being disappointed by her ex husband, but when Liam stood up for her and her boys she realized she just was with the wrong person, because Liam showed her she was worth of loving, and worth of fighting for, and not just for her but her boys too, she’s the greatest mom ever and I love that she get her HEA finally 😭🩵 oh and the moment she knew that sweet girl? (I’m not saying anything else about this because I don’t want to spoil anything) that melted my heart 😩🩵 because Liam and her made just the perfect family and they knew it 🥹🩵

I just loved this book so much and it’s hands down my favorite book in the series 🩵 I have nothing else to say but thank you to author Lisa Suzanne and Valentine PR for continuing trusting in me and giving me the chance to get the arcs of this series ✨🩵

I can’t wait for Ivy’s book! But I know already it will be bittersweet because is the last book!! And I don’t want this series to end 😭😩

But yes, I can’t wait to read it because I’m sensing it’s going to be messy and intense and just perfect 🙂‍↕️✨

Yet another fantastic instalment in the Bradley Legacy series. Back up Plan is book 6 and the penultimate book in this surprisingly emotional sports romance books.

Liam is the youngest son of the 7 Bradley children and has always felt he hasn’t quite measured up. I mean it must be hard when all your elder brothers as in professional sports teams, Liam is not on the starting line and having just been dropped by his home team, he is beginning to wonder what’s next for him.

Penny is just about holding everything together whilst divorcing her thoroughly unpleasant cheating husband, whilst still living in the same house as him and being the primary carer of their two sons, whilst holding down a full time job. She misses her best friend Everleigh as she is getting married and moving away.

Penny decides to stop and have a well earned drink after a long day, when in walks Liam, Everleigh’s little brother. They get to chatting and have dinner, getting on really well together, then the flirting starts. Both think this can’t go anywhere due to their relationships to Everleigh.
Yeah well after a few drinks, maybe that’s not an issue or concern for the night.

Penny has the best night of her life and Liam offers for her and her sons to move in to his place so she doesn’t have to stay living with her ex. Which happens the very next day.

Liam can’t believe the night he had with Penny and doesn’t even second guess his suggestion they move in. He’s just been offered a chance in San Diego and thinks that as he won’t be there, it makes sense. BUT, they’re not going to Ev about it as it was just a one time thing. Or so they thought.

We follow the two of them fall in love, deal with several outside issues, from ex husbands, to criminal investigations into a parent, to an unexpected baby.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with Liam and although he has previously been mentioned throughout the series, it hasn’t been much, but he did not disappoint.

I would absolutely recommend it and cannot wait for the final book in this series.

I received an advance reader copy of this book, and I’m delighted to share my honest review.

Another Bradley sibling! This time, we get a closer look into Liam’s life. He’s the one who had to primarily deal with his father while simultaneously juggling his football career. Now, he’s in Chicago and currently unsigned to a team. So, imagine his surprise when he heads out to a regular bar one night and runs into his sister’s best friend, Penny.

We first met Penny during Everleigh’s story, and now she’s going through a divorce after discovering her husband cheated on her while also caring for her two sons. This season of life hasn’t been easy for her, and even though Liam is younger than her, she decides to take a chance and enjoy one night with him. But Liam doesn’t stop there. He offers to let Penny and her children move into his place so she can get out of the house she’s currently sharing with her ex.

Then Liam gets the call to head to San Diego, where he finds himself being relegated to the backup position once again. As his career takes another turn, so do his feelings for Penny. Liam never thought he wanted children, but spending time with Penny and her boys fills a part of him he never knew was missing. So, when he has to leave for San Diego, he asks Penny and her children to come with him.

Of course, Penny’s divorce is complicated, and with everything happening within the Bradley family, Liam starts to worry that being together will only make things harder for her. He convinces himself that the best thing for both of them is to walk away. But despite their age difference, the complications surrounding them, and everything life keeps throwing their way, the love they’ve found may just be worth fighting for.

Liam is absolutely covered in green flags, and I loved watching him treat Penny with the love, patience, and respect she never received in her marriage. I’m loving getting to know each of the Bradley siblings, and Liam and Penny’s story was another fantastic addition to the series!

5 It’s Her and Me Stars!

🎧Audiobook Review🎧

I loved every single thing about this book. Liam Bradley and Penny Calloway have known each other for quite a while because she’s his older sister’s best friend. Aside from the 7 years between them, until recently, she’s been married. Everything changes though at his sister Everly’s wedding which sets in motion a romance that wasn’t supposed to happen, but is literally the best thing that’s ever happened to both of them.

I loved the push and pull between Liam and Penny. He’s much wiser than his age and Penny has never seen this side of Liam. Before I go much further, their chemistry is HAF!! They’re literally burning up the sheets, the counters, and furniture LOL!

The minute I started listening to Ryan Lee Dunlap and Samantha Summers bring these characters to life I was all in. They truly enabled me to feel each and every line and scene. There are so many moments of vulnerability that are counterbalanced with a deepening friendship between Liam and Penny. Liam is a man that will protect not only Penny but her little boys Sammy and Benjie no matter what comes at them and it usually involves Penny’s soon to be Ex. I loved this for all of them.

While Penny and Liam are growing closer together, thanks to them all living together in Liam’s amazing apartment, Liam is on the road to figuring out what field he’s going to land on as a backup quarterback… this all comes into play the deeper Liam and Penny fall for each other.

It’s definitely not an easy journey for all of them. There is in fact a surprise that no one was expecting which truly changes the dynamics for everyone! I’ve listened to all the books in this series and this one has become my favorite. In this book we also get some closure on the Bradley family drama, but I’m pretty sure there’s more to come on that end in Ivy’s book which is up next.

If you haven’t started this series, what are you waiting for? Run, don’t walk and one click these books and get ready to fall in love with an entire family and those that they love!

The Back Up Plan by Lisa Suzanne
Sometimes you pick up a book thinking you're here for the romance, and before you know it, you're completely invested in the characters, their family, their lives, and basically everyone around them. Yep… that was me with The Back Up Plan.

This was my first Lisa Suzanne book, and I can confidently say it will NOT be my last! I loved every second of Liam and Penny's story. The age gap worked so well for these two, but what really got me was the emotional side of their relationship. There were moments between them that felt genuine and heartfelt, and Lisa did such an amazing job of making me feel invested in both of them.

And Liam with Penny's boys? That absolutely got me. Watching him treat them as his own and build that relationship with them added another layer to the story that I really loved.

There was also a surprise I absolutely did NOT see coming, which is always a win for me! and the way it was handled...Perfection!

This is book six in the series, but you don't have to read the previous books to understand Liam and Penny's story. That said, you do get to meet all of the Bradley siblings, and now I find myself wanting to go back and start this series from the beginning because I NEED to know all of their stories!

And then there's the audiobook… stellar performances by both narrators. Bridget Bordeaux has always been a favorite of mine, and she was fantastic here. Ryan Lee Dunlap was also phenomenal and is quickly becoming one of my go-to narrators. They were both absolutely perfect for these characters, and I'm so glad I listened to this story.

Lisa Suzanne has officially made it onto my author list, and I'm already looking forward to seeing what I read from her next!

The Back Up Plan gave me the romance, the emotions, the family feels, the chemistry, and a surprise I didn't see coming. What more could I ask for....Oh ya more Lisa Suzanne. Lucky for me she has a huge backlist that I will be diving into!

The latest in the Bradley Legacy series definitely does not disappoint. I had a hard time putting this down once I started. I absolutely loved Liam and Penny's story.
Penny is a semi-single mother going through a divorce. She is having a moment in a local bar when Liam unexpectedly walks in. They share dinner, drinks, then a very hot night together. She thinks things are done at that point, until Liam offers her and her boys a place to stay until she can find a place of her own away from her gaslighting ex. Reluctantly she takes him up on his offer. Liam is 7 years her junior, an NFL quarterback with loads of women at his disposal, no experience with kids, and her best friend's younger brother. How could he possibly want anything more with her? She is in for quite the surprise.
Liam is a backup quarterback out of a job and searching for his next team. Tired of being the backup, he longs to be the starter and live out his dream. Penny and her boys are the life twist he never saw coming. He quickly becomes an important figure in their lives, building blanket forts and Lego creations, keeping the peace, and being a solid source of support for Penny. He takes care of them in ways her ex never did and he finds he is loving every bit of it. He is also falling for Penny hard. Stolen moments between the two become much more. It is sweet and steamy and everything you could possibly want for these two. He gets an offer to move to California to be part of a team, but leaving Penny and the boys behind would be harder than he thought possible. An unexpected pregnancy from someone other than Penny adds another layer to the story and to Liam that was a complete surprise, but ends up being a very good one.
The characters were engaging and authentic which pulls you into the story and holds you from the first page to the last. I highly recommend giving this a chance. While it is part of a series, it can be read as a stand alone book.
Thank you to Valentine PR and Lisa Suzanne for the advanced copy to read and review.

Liam Bradley is the star of this book and boy does his story make you sad this series is nearly finished. This book is full of emotion, angst and characters you can’t help but fall in love with. Love interest is Penny Calloway, best friend to Liam’s sister Everleigh. Romance is the last thing on her mind after being the middle of a messy divorce but one chance night with Liam might just prove her wrong.

I love these two together. They just gel and their one night evolves into a friendship then a relationship built on trust and chemistry. For me their relationship never felt rushed it was something that has come along naturally even though they feel the need to keep it a secret due to events happening in both their lives. Add in Penny’s two boys the bond Liam builds with them and this is a cute and loveable relationship that really kicks off when Liam offers them his spare room.

it wouldn’t be a Bradley book without a bit of drama and not in the form of Liam’s father, but an ex partner who drops a bombshell on him. Faced with reality Liam struggles to deal with the news and the fact that he is joining a new team in a new city possibly without Penny.

Penny gets her chance to shine in this book. She is an amazing mother and always puts her kids first, she even puts up with staying in the family home with her toxic ex while the divorce goes through until Liam offers her sanctuary at his house. She is one of those characters who you want the world to be right for and feel for her when her ex uses her living arrangements to his advantage in the divorce courts. She comes across as a genuine person who puts others before herself. I love how she evolves and finally gives her ex the comeuppance he deserves and the stability her kids need.

This book is the perfect addition to the series. It balances romance and family themes with a few twists and turns thrown in for measure. I love how Liam and Penny overcome these and try to protect each other and put each other first. It’s an emotional story of how found family should be.

If you love the other books then this is a must read. It can be read as a standalone but best read in series order to understand the family dynamics.

I received this as an advanced reader copy and have left my own review

Liam has officially become my favorite Bradley. He blew me away with his love and care for Penny and her boys. He is the baby brother of the family and he is (to me) the smartest and best well rounded of the bunch. Even though he was the youngest boy of the family he shouldered a lot of the weight for alla of the Bradley Children. He was there for his mom and dad while all the others were away doing their own things. He never let it break him but you can see that he struggled the most with not having all the things he wanted and needed. Whe we first meet him, he does not even know if he wants to be a dad or settle down. He has known Penny all his life because of her being his older sisters best friend. They meet up by chance and they choose to spend an evening together. What was supposed to be a one night situation turns into more very quickly. Penny is going through a divorce from her ex and Liam offers her a place to stay to get away from him. Quiet moments at home turn into something real but can they overcome all the obstacles stacked against them? I love how Liam changed his mind about family and his future with every interaction he had. All those little moments added up and made him realize he was missing out on some great things in his life. He tries to be a good man and not allow himself to complicate Penny's life even when it is not in his best interest. They both have a lot of ups and downs in this book. Every interaction and set back is an opportunity for them to both grow and change with in their dynamic. Liam show that he is dependable and that he is not like her ex. He shows up in little ways. He is the textbook definition of the perfect book boyfriend. If you love a good sports romance with characters that are flawed but also real and true to life this book is for you. I love how this author always has great development of not only the story but the characters. You cannot help but fall in love with these characters.
