I LOVED THIS. For once the fmc had the personality that is usually found in an mmc. Cold, stoic ,broody, possessive and territorial. It was so refreshing. I think i will have to reread this many more times to come. I wish you had more books i cant wait!

Amazing

I often read books where the mmc saves the girl but finally found one where the girl saves the boy. This was perfection

DNF 54% chapter 16, Not a fan of an MMC talking about being with other women even as a joke. what did he think would happen after he told her he might be sleeping other women? that she would congratulate of fist bump him? so dumb. his confession after saying that shit was useless and only annoyed me further.

"And the clubs, Viktor?" I press. "Are any of the women there interesting you? Are you having fun playing the big, protective man for them?"
Viktor’s eyes narrow into slits.
"Ah," he murmurs, a dark smile pulling at the corner of his lips. It’s a terrifying expression. "I see. You want to know if I am fucking others."
Yes. Exactly that.
"Why wouldn't I?" he continues, making my stomach violently twist. "The clubs are full of beautiful girls, Valentina. Girls who do not look at me with pity. Girls who gladly press their bodies against mine and whisper how big, how strong I am. Maybe after a long shift, I take one into the back alley. Maybe I let her take care of the frustration you leave me with."
A blinding pain hits me in the chest. I genuinely think my heart is tearing in two. The image he’s painting makes me want to throw up. I open my mouth to say something, but nothing comes out.
Seeing the absolute devastation on my face, Viktor’s cruel smile vanishes.
He lets out a harsh growl and lunges across the cushions. His hand cups the back of my neck, his fingers tangling in my hair as he yanks me forward. He forces my face inches from his, his grip possessive.
"You are so stupidly blind," he growls, his teeth bared as his hot breath fans across my lips. "Did you actually believe that bullshit? I was being sarcastic, Valentina, but you are so eager to think the worst of me that you bought it hook, line, and sinker."
"Viktor—"
"Listen to me," he commands, his thumb pressing hard against my jawline. "There are no other women. I do not look at them. When they touch my arm to ask for directions, it makes my skin crawl. My cock only grows hard for you. My mind only drives itself mad thinking about you. I am burning alive in this penthouse every single night because the only woman I want is too proud to let me in."

I don't think I've ever read a dark romance quite like Owning Him. Most trafficking stories place the woman in the vulnerable position, but here the victim is the MMC, a man who has spent years being bought, sold, controlled, and stripped of his agency. The role reversal was refreshing, especially with Valentina being the wealthy, powerful woman who purchases him, not for sex, but because she sees the sadness in his eyes and wants to give him a chance at freedom. What made this work for me was how completely feral they became about each other. Their possessiveness was mutual, their loyalty absolute, and neither ever felt more invested than the other. The novella format hurts the story at times, particularly with how quickly the MMC recovers from years of trauma and rebuilds his life, but the emotional connection between them was strong enough that I happily overlooked some of the unrealistic elements. Watching two equally obsessive people choose each other over and over again was easily my favorite part of the book. 4 stars.

Tati Hayes’s writing has gotten extremely better as her books have progressed. I hope eventually she will publish because I want to buy her novellas 🙏 I loved the FMC in this book!! She had personality, she was morally grey but also had values, she had a backbone, she was cold, calculating and smart. She was a fullt developed character even which many authors struggle to write when they have a morally grey fmc.

My only ick??? The daddy nickname… maybe some are into that I AM NOT 😭😩

This was short but didnt feel rushed like there was breathing space but it didnt drag which i see a lot but thats not what people want to hear the characters omg first of the rolls are practically reversed the fmc is in charge powerful and relatable and then the mmc is hurt ece I rlly enjoyed this and would recommend

It was a quick read. I haven’t read many books like this before. The writing itself wasn’t the strongest I’ve come across, but the story behind it was what drew me in and kept me reading.

Owning him was a nice change. A powerhouse female and a used male. He falls first, she tries to pretend she can't be with him. I truly wish more books were like this. This book made me feel so much sympathy for the MMC. The FMC giving him the platform to build something of his own was the cherry on top.
