A small town, friends to lovers, secret relationship romance from NY Times Best Selling Author Samantha Chase.
Evie and Slater were supposed to be friends. That was the first mistake.
She wants forever, but he’s always known he’s not built for it.
The last thing Evie Parker expected was for her boss’s best friend to witness her getting spectacularly dumped by a man who barely remembered they were dating in the first place. Desperate to escape her lackluster romantic history, Evie jumps at the chance to spend a month at Lakeview Harbor Resort. A fresh start is just what she needs…especially with Slater—the one person who’s always been easy.
Slater was never supposed to notice Evie. At least not like that. But somewhere between a competitive trivia game and a kiss that definitely didn’t mean anything, he can’t stop thinking about her. Having her at the resort was supposed to be easy. Evie was his friend—the last person who could complicate everything.
One kiss turns into one night and suddenly the lines between friendship and something more are impossibly blurred. They don’t make sense. They don’t fit. But forever might just be possible.
Samantha Chase is a New York Times and USA Today bestseller of contemporary romance that’s hotter than sweet, sweeter than hot. She released her debut novel in 2011 and currently has more than seventy titles under her belt – including THE CHRISTMAS COTTAGE which was a Hallmark Christmas movie in 2017! She’s a Disney enthusiast who still happily listens to 80’s rock. When she’s not working on a new story, she spends her time reading romances, playing way too many games of Solitaire on Facebook, wearing a tiara while playing with her sassy pug Maylene…oh, and spending time with her husband of 30 years and their two sons in Wake Forest, North Carolina.
While I am sad to see this series end, I am thrilled to get Slater’s story. We are back to Lakeview Harbor and Slater is the last single standing, the longest he has ever stayed in one place. His friends and partners being there made it easy, but seeing them pair off one by one, and their happiness, will he fall next?
Evie, you stole my heart you know your crush on Slater is going nowhere, you take the innocent flirting friendship as this is all he can give. A trivia game and a hug just might change both of you.
I loved every single friend and couple I have met during this series. Each character brings something to the table. This book will give you all the feels, and plenty of emotions. A friends to lovers done very well. I was hooked from the first page.
Thank you to the Authors for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review
Samantha Chase has done it again! I absolutely loved #Resort Kiss, the fifth and final book in her Lakeview Harbor series! #Resort Kiss is an incredible love story, which filled me with a rollercoaster of emotions, I was hooked from the first few pages, and it was impossible to put it down. I loved every moment on every page. Samantha Chase continues to deliver the incredibly written love stories that I LOVE to read and is a must-read author for me. I love boss’s best friend/friends to lovers love story, the Harbortown setting, and the amazing characters, they feel like family! Samantha Chase does not disappoint her readers with all the feels in #Resort Kiss and has once again delivered an amazing story filled with everything that I have come to love about and expect from her books. Who does not love hot sexy men, strong, passionate females, big loving families, and caring friends, who always support each other? #Resort Kiss is a love story between Evie Parker, corporate executive assistant for Milo Keene, founder and CEO of Armor Wave and Milo’s friend Cal Slater, tour guide and activities director at Lakeview Harbor Resort. Milo is opening an office in Harbortown and has convinced Evie to join him and help set up his new office. Evie has had a crush on Slater, since she first met him, but has never told him. Evie and Slater are staying at nearby cabins at the resort. Evie and Slater are trivia partners at the lodge, when they win Evie spontaneously and quickly kisses Slater. This changes things between them. Things quickly heat up as Evie and Slater spend time at the resort. Conversation between Evie and Slater flow easily. I love the group chat between Slater and his friends. I love the chemistry between Evie and Slater, and the nickname “Bean” that she calls Evie. I love the heart-to-heart conversations that take place in #Resort Kiss, especially when Slater reveals his relationship with his parents, especially his father, it is truly heartbreaking. Slater is named after his father, baseball player Cal Slater, but he chooses to go by Slater. Cal Slater’s former baseball team is having “Cal Slater Day” to celebrate Cal and retire his number. Cal wants Slater to attend the event; his PR team has encouraged Cal to reach out to his son. I love how Slater stood up to his father. Evie’s time at the Harbortown, and the Lakeview Harbor Resort is coming to an end, and she will be returning home to Seattle. Slater’s time at Lakeview Harbor Resort is ending, and he needs to decide what to do next. They are not sure if they want to give long distance dating a try. Especially since they want different things from life. Neither one is willing to admit their real feelings for one another. An unexpected plot twist involving Evie, changes things for them. I was so happy that Evie and Slater finally admit their true feelings for one another, and the changes that they are willing to make to have a life together. I love the ending of Evie and Slater’s love story and all the changes that take place in their lives; I especially loved Slater’s proposal and the location where it took place. My favorite part is the epilogue that happens four months later is the perfect ending of their love story and the series. Another favorite part is that Shaughnessy is the band that performs the first concert at the new amphitheater. I love all the changes that Evie and Slater make in their lives to have a future with one another. #Resort Kiss was an amazing love story; I am so glad that Evie and Slater’s got their happily ever after. I loved all the plot twists and surprises that filled the pages of this love story. I love how Samantha Chase always manages to create the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong, sassy woman on her own, to balance out the sexy, swoon worthy man. Samantha Chase continues to deliver all that and so much more. This page turner is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments, plot twists, and surprises. I also loved all the moments that had me laughing. I love that Samantha Chase writes her stories from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting inside their minds and knowing their thoughts and how they really feel. I love catching up with all the characters in this series, it was an incredible farewell to the series and the friends. It felt like a family reunion, I enjoy all the interactions among their friends, it feels like family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. I love Evie’s friendships with Harlow, Lexi, Nora, and Maisie and Slater’s friendships with Walker, Connor, Milo, and Axel. I love that Kelsey and Jayce return for the good bye and all the surprises that were revealed. I love the descriptions of the Harbortown and the Lakeview Harbor Resort in #Resort Kiss. Who does not love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? What an incredible farewell to the Lakeview Harbor series. Highly recommend this beautifully written love story. Received an advanced copy from the author.
After reading the previous books in this series, I have been waiting for the story of Slater, the seemingly carefree playboy, and it does not disappoint. Slater has watched his friends and fellow owners of the resort find their life partners and a happily ever after, but he is not looking for the same. His parents’ marriage was a disaster thanks to his father’s ego and cheating ways. Slater’s mother turned to alcohol to dull the pain and died far too young. Everyone has always mentioned how much alike he and his father are, and Slater refuses to subject any woman to the pain his mother injured. His nomadic lifestyle and adrenaline junkie ways are meant to fill the empty space in his life.
He is starting to get restless and knows that it’s time to move on, but once Slater realizes that Evie will be spending the next month at the resort, helping his friend and her boss Milo get his satellite office set up in Harbourtown, he decides to stick around. Slater and Evie have become friends over the past couple of years and he is happy to show her around the resort and spend some time with her. One kiss changes everything. Now he can’t get her out of his head and being just friends with Evie is the last thing Slater wants. But she doesn’t do casual relationships and he doesn’t do commited ones. Then, there are the opinions of Slater’s friends and their protectiveness of Evie to contend with once they discover that he and Evie are no longer just friends.
Slater is different around Evie. Happier than he has been in a long time, but also more confused and conflicted, Slater doesn’t know how to define his feelings for Evie or what to do next. The last thing he wants to do is hurt Evie like his dad hurt his mom. He doesn’t want to let her go either. With her he feels less flawed, more confident and more open about his past. Evie has had rotten luck when it comes to romantic relationships. With Slater, she is bolder, and free of expectations and more confident. She can be herself instead of making herself smaller, and allowing someone else to take control. Slater is happy to let her take the lead and she can be honest and open with him.
Once his friends know what’s going on between them, she tries to retreat, but in truth, she doesn’t want to, and neither does Slater. In her heart, Evie knows she’s setting herself up for more heartbreak because she’s leaving in a few weeks, and he’s moving onto the next adventure. Neither say the word love, at least not to each other, because they truthfully don’t know how they can make their lives mesh. Thank goodness for great friends. They are not shy about giving advice and are there to support and encourage Slater and Evie to choose love and each other. Love makes the hard work of maintaining a relationship worth the effort.
This heartwarming and angsty book has my wholehearted
Samantha Chase ends on a super high note with Resort Kiss, the fifth Lakeview Harbor book. Yes, it’s part of the series, but it stands alone without breaking a sweat. If you've read the other books, you'll find familiar characters ... but if you haven't, the author did a masterful job of crafting a story that will pull you in. Fair warning that if this is your first Lakeview Harbor book, you'll want to read the rest of them!
Evie Parker is such a relatable, endearing heroine. Fresh off a spectacularly public dumping that her boss’s best friend (Slater) witnesses, she’s ready for a change of scenery and a break from her string of lackluster romantic disappointments. Heading to Lakeview Harbor Resort for a month feels like the perfect reset, especially since Slater has always been the easy, uncomplicated friend in her life. Evie wants forever - she’s honest about that - and watching her navigate the shift from comfortable friendship into something deeper is pure joy. She’s warm, determined, and quietly resilient, and her growth as she lets herself hope for more than “good enough” feels authentic and satisfying.
Slater is the perfect foil and match for her. As one of the resort’s owners and part of that longtime friend group, he’s always known he’s not built for forever… or so he keeps telling himself. Evie was never supposed to register as more than a friend, the last person who could complicate his carefully guarded world. Yet somewhere between a competitive trivia game and a kiss that was definitely not supposed to mean anything, he can’t stop thinking about her. Slater’s internal struggle - wanting her while trying to protect both of them from the risk of crossing that line - is handled with Chase’s signature blend of humor, heat, and heart. His eventual willingness to reconsider what “forever” might look like lands with real emotional weight.
The friends-to-lovers, secret-relationship vibes are executed so well here. The chemistry builds naturally, the banter sparkles, and the supporting cast of familiar faces adds warmth without overshadowing the main couple. Chase once again proves she knows how to craft feel-good contemporary romance that balances swoony moments with genuine emotional stakes. #Resort Kiss is a delightful, satisfying read that left me smiling and already missing Evie and Slater.
Highly recommended - whether you’re a longtime Lakeview Harbor fan or picking this one up first.
I received an ARC from the author and am leaving my review to help others find this fab story
This is the last book in Samantha Chase’s Lakeview Harbor series. Although I am very sad to say goodbye to everyone, this author skillfully creates a compelling, uplifting story with an interesting, complex plot, and lovable characters, with their beautiful long-term friendships, Their determination to rebuild the run-down resort where they spent their childhood is also very heart-warming.
Evie and Slaters both work at the newly opened resort that has recently opened. They are friends but they are very different from each other. Slater is an outgoing man who never stays in one place or job for any length of time. He never plans to settle down, get married or fall in love. His romantic activities are short emotionless casual affairs with no thought of any future.
Evie is quiet, shy and very traditional. She is looking to settle down, get married and have children. She only has meaningful relationships and considers sex an emotional for when she is involved with someone. Unfortunately, Evie has had a crush on Slater since she first met him. But she knows that she and Slater do not have the same philosophy on dating and she cannot follow his plan. Therefore she accepts his friendship as she constantly ignores her feelings for him.
However, one day when they are part of a trivia contest, Evie beats everyone. In her excitement, Evie jumps into Slater’s arms and kisses him on his lips. That unexpected gesture provokes unanticipated feelings in Slater’s head and heart. For the first time, he is aware of Evie as a woman, and he has trouble ignoring the attraction he feels for her.
After that, readers will find it difficult to put the book down. Evie and Slater continue spending time together, but now they find it difficult to ignore their need for more than kisses. One day when they unwittingly give in, and are both “in heaven.” However, even though they both know this relationship has nowhere to go, they cannot seem to stop.
Therefore, as the couple date and share a room, In the meantime will be deeply affected by Slater’s feelings and the remarkable, special and beautiful, way that he treats his best “friend.”
💕 The perfect ending to another absolutely amazing series by Samantha Chase! 💕
And honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better way to finish the series than with Slater’s story. This man and Evie completely stole my heart! ❤️
From the very beginning, I was invested in these two. Their friendship was so genuine and special, and watching that friendship slowly evolve into something deeper was EVERYTHING. 🥹💕 There’s something about two people who already know each other, who have that comfort and trust, and then suddenly realise there’s so much more between them. The chemistry, the tension, the stolen moments… I was here for ALL of it!
Slater was absolutely swoon-worthy, and Evie was the perfect match for him. Together they just worked. Their journey was filled with all those little moments that make you smile, melt and occasionally sigh at your Kindle like a complete romance addict. 😍
Samantha Chase has such a wonderful way of creating characters that feel real and worlds that you just don’t want to leave. She hooks you in from the very first page and somehow makes you feel like you’re part of the family. Her stories are packed with heart, humour, romance and characters you can’t help but fall in love with.
And that’s what I love about picking up a Samantha Chase book — I know I’m going to get a story that makes me feel something. ❤️ She always manages to leave me with that happy, satisfied smile when I turn the final page, while also making me wish I wasn’t saying goodbye to these characters just yet.
Truthfully, you really can’t go wrong with any of her books, and this one is definitely no exception! Slater and Evie were the perfect couple to bring this series to a beautiful close, and I absolutely adored every minute of their story.
✨ A beautiful friends-to-lovers romance, a swoony hero, a lovable heroine, plenty of feels and the perfect happily-ever-after. ✨
Another Samantha Chase series finished, another group of characters I’ve fallen hopelessly in love with, and another book that left me smiling long after I turned the final page. ❤️📖
Yet again, Samantha brings us back to Lakeview Harbor for Slater and Evie's story! You do not want to miss out on this one! These two will steal your heart and not let it go! 5 Lakeview Stars for this one! Slater has been at Lakeview Harbor doing the hiking tours. It's the longest he's ever stayed in one place, but having his best friends there has made it easy! When Milo needs to head back to grab his assistant and tie up some lose ends, and bring her back to Lakeview Harbor to help him with their new office he's opening there, Slater offers to fly them up there to help bring Evie back. He must admit he does have a crush on her, and having her close by will be tempting. After watching her get rejected by a jerk, he wants her to feel love and wanted, but his past and how he feels he will be just like his super star baseball legend dad, a womanizer, he treads lightly with her. Can he overcome his fears, and let love in this time? Evie has had enough with being everyone's door mat. The one who everyone comes to, when they need help organizing something, including her own family. Now in Lakeview Harbor, she's spending time with Slater, and yes, the attraction is there. But he's already said he's not a relationship kind of guy. She wants a relationship, she wants to find love like everyone else. If only Slater would let down his guard. The time they spend together at Lakeside Harbor, is filled with great times, including some amazing nights together! But will he let her truly in? This is the final book in this series, and I've loved them all, but this one completely touched my heart! I can't believe we are here at the end, so if you haven't started this series, what are you waiting for! Grab it asap!
I can’t believe this is the end of this series. I feel like we just got to the resort and met these amazing people and now it’s time to leave and I’m not ready to go. What a perfect story to end this series with. Really liked Evie and Slater’s friendship and ‘innocent’ flirting, who knew that all it would take is a trivia contest and a hug that everything would shift into something more and who knew that it might be something that would change each of their lives for the better. Wonderful book from beginning to end of course I loved seeing Evie and Slater go from friends to something more but then we have everyone else, some who might have an inkling about them and when it all comes out everyone has their opinions. But that isn’t new because it was the same for every couple that came together. I have to say not really a fan of Tucker or Slater’s father but the way everything came together was kismet. We have some updates with our favorite characters in this story and I have to admit that at the end with the concert, I was kind of hoping that is who it would be the whole time so that was a fun little easter egg and the whole surprise during the play, amazing. I don’t want to say goodbye to this series or these characters. We most definitely need a check-in with them in five years to see what everyone is up to as well as the resort itself. I have enjoyed every book in this series, but there was something, in my opinion, a little extra special about this one. Great book!!
Samantha Chase has done it again. The perfect ending to an amazing series. A group of friends with all different backgrounds and childhoods brought together to keep their “family” together. Slater and Evie were great together. They started as friends as some of the best relationships start. Evie has always felt something for Slater but learned when they met he as not a relationship type of guy. More of a one-night stand type of guy. She was the total opposite and realized it was better to just be friends. Slater never stayed in on place for long. Always searching for that new adventure, always searching for something but neve really finding it. Wasn’t a relationship guy because of his upbringing. Now being at the resort the more time he spent with Evie the stronger his feelings for her became, something he was not used to. He normally was a one-night stand guy but with Evie he wanted more. He knew their time at the resort had an expiration date but he wanted to spend every moment with her. Live for the moment and don’t think of tomorrow. He started to realize that she was the something he has been looking for. I never wanted their story to end let alone this series. The friendships, the romance, and the family. They may not have been bound by blood but rather a childhood and a resort that brought them together and formed a bond that would be unbreakable.
#Resort Kiss is the fifth and final book in the Lakeview Harbor series and it was a wonderful addition to the series!
Evie Parker is Milo's executive assistant and works for him in Seattle. Since he is setting up a satellite office in Lakeview Harbor, she comes to help him as he gets it off the ground. Her plan is to stay for a month and then head back to Seattle to run the office there.
Slater is the guy who has never put down roots and he's starting to feel the itch to get on the road again. He promised to stay at the resort to help out, but that time is coming to an end. When Milo is ready to come home, Slater offers to fly out to pick him up. What he doesn't expect is to have Evie on board too.
Evie and Slater were only ever supposed to be friends, but one kiss changed the entire trajectory of their relationship. Both of them have things from their pasts that make it very difficult to trust, or to believe that they should be in a long-term relationship. Have they each finally met their match?
I loved how Evie and Slater's relationship unfolded and I also enjoyed having all of our favorites back in the mix with their story. It's sad to leave our friends at Lakeview Harbor Resort, but I'm excited to see what Samantha Chase has in store for us next!
**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review**
I have really enjoyed this series and this is my favorite. There was something about Slater and Evie, and how there was an underlying interest that neither one acknowledged that drew me in. Slater had never had a serious relationship, he doesn’t want to be like his dad. He has always like Evie and they have a great friendship, so he is looking forward to having her come to Harbor Town to hang out. Evie has always been the responsible one, but when her boyfriend tells her he never saw her as his girlfriend she is humiliated and decides to go to Harbor Town to get away and help her boss.
I liked how they started as friends and grew to be more. Slowly they opened up to each other and started wanting more. Neither wanted to rock the boat, so they never mentioned their real feelings. He helped her realize that she doesn’t always have to be the responsible one and that she is awesome when she stands up for herself. She helped him realize that he does deserve to be loved and he is nothing like his father.
When she has to go back home, they both are dreading it, but neither knows how to make a relationship work. I loved his friends and the advice they gave. How they make it work and realize they want to be together was fantastic. I’m going to miss this town and the characters. I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.
Slater has been one of my favourite characters throughout this series, so I had been eagerly waiting for his story—and he was absolutely worth the wait. Evie was everything I wanted in a heroine. I loved her in Milo’s book, so I couldn't wait to see her get her happily ever after. Their friends-to-lovers romance was beautifully done, filled with emotion, chemistry, and all the feels. I loved returning to the resort and spending more time with this incredible group of friends. The girls have added so much to the dynamic of the group, and I loved seeing those relationships continue to grow. We also learn more about Slater’s childhood and the experiences that shaped him, which made me love him even more. Evie’s unwavering support during some pivotal moments was incredibly moving and truly melted my heart. One of the things I've loved most about this series is the importance of friendship, and this book showcased that perfectly. Seeing the boys rally around Slater when he needed them most was a wonderful reminder of the strong bonds at the heart of these stories. I'm going to miss this resort and these characters so much, but I can't wait to see where Samantha takes us next. A perfect ending to an unforgettable series.
Welcome back to Lakeview Harbour Resort … sadly, for the last time 😩
Samantha Chase is one of those authors who gets you hooked on her characters immediately, which is great because most of her books are series so we get more of them throughout.
I’m very sad that this is the end of this series. The same as when I left behind all her other ones, I’ll feel empty for a while - until she brings us a new batch of characters to love!!
This final book, #Resort Kiss, was a great closing to the series. Our activities guide Slater, who bounces from girl to girl and place to place, never planning to settle, is having a hard time deciding to leave the resort for his next adventure… especially when his friends assistant (also a sort of friend of his), Evie, comes to the resort for a couple months to help Milo set up his local office.
Slater and Evie end up hiding the spark of a relationship that pops up… and as the reader, I was rooting for them to figure things out, and one to admit he was ready to settle down. After so much time together and hiding everything from the friends (her boss Milo can’t find out!), of course we know how that ends, she gives us a beautiful conclusion as well as wrapping up the series so brilliantly.
I loved this story (and series) sooo much! I wish they had more friends, to get more books!! I know we’ll get new faves soon, but I will sit in my book hangover for a while, until then. I so very highly recommend Resort Kiss, but best read in series order.
Thank you to the author for the advance copy. This is my honest feedback.
I have been waiting for Evie and Slater's story, and it was worth every minute. I loved every page of this friends-to-lovers romance. It was a slow, sweet burn that kept me completely invested, and when they finally got together, the chemistry was absolutely electric. Evie is a total book nerd and the ultimate fixer. She's the person everyone depends on to keep things running smoothly, and somewhere along the way she forgot to live her own life. Slater, on the other hand, is the complete opposite. He avoids routines, is always on the move, and lives life one adventure at a time. What I loved most was how they balanced each other. Slater encouraged Evie to step outside her comfort zone and discover parts of herself she didn't know existed, while Evie made Slater believe that putting down roots and building a life in one place could actually be possible. They truly understood each other, and together they just fit. As always, the side characters brought plenty of humor and heart, making this cozy, feel-good story even more enjoyable. This was a wonderful addition to the series, and I'm so glad Evie and Slater finally got their happily ever after.
I always hate when a series I love comes to an end, and this one did In spectacular fashion. It has been so special getting to know this group of friends and the family they became owning and running their resort. I loved it and loved this book! Finally, it is Slater’s turn at finding love after all his fellow co-owners already have, and Evie is just the one for him. Friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes. It’s adorable how she is at Trivia night with him which leads them into stepping out of the friend zone they’ve been in for a while now. Oh they try and say it will just be while she is there for the month helping her boss Milo, who is one of the co-owners of the resort too, but we all know what is going to happen. And it does in the best of ways. I loved every moment of Slater and Evie’s journey, even the rougher patches. Thankfully they communicated when they really needed to before it was too late and with a little help from their friends. Sweet story with an amazing new beginning for them even as it was the end of this incredibly entertaining and heartwarming series. All the romance, all the joy! Loved it!
The final book in Samantha’s Lakeview Harbor series, and it’s such a great addition and fitting end!
Of all the friends who came together to fix up Lakeview Harbor resort, Slater has always been the most restless and is the only one to not find love. That’s fine - he doesn’t want to, anyway, he’s moving on soon. But then Evie enters the picture…and he just might change his mind.
Evie has known Slater for years as the friend of her boss, and grew to become a good friend of hers, too. When she needs to travel to the resort to work temporarily, her and Slater start to spend time together and the sparks fly. But she’s moving back to Seattle for work, so it can only be a fling.
Friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes, and this was a fun twist on it. Evie and Slater had such good chemistry and their story kept me engaged and having a blast reading! Samantha Chase is one of my comfort read authors and Lakeview Harbor seems like a great location to vacation, work, and fall in love. This is a fun series for a reader who enjoys found family, a bit of adventure, and swoony romance. I received an advanced reading copy, receipt of which did not impact my review.
Evie and Slater. I loved this book. These two characters are in each other’s orbit way before there is a couple. They both have a mutual friend in Milo. And they have always had a friendly connection. Until they are in the same location for more than a blip. Then that kiss. That kiss changes everything. I loved Evie’s character. She is strong and independent even though she wishes she could have the kind of relationships she sees happening all around her. She is hyper aware of past boyfriends that took her for granted. That changes her views on what her and Slater might develop. Can they agree to having something right now? Slater is complex but so simple. His MO is to get as much adventure as possible then move on to the next one. He doesn’t do commitment in any fashion. The only exception is to his childhood friends. Until Evie. She changes him in ways he didn’t see coming. She makes him look at what he thinks is holding him back. She finds the Slater he never knew was there. I loved how this was a “let’s think about right now” that turned into a “what will I do without you” situation. Slater and Evie shouldn’t work but they most certainly do.
#𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐊𝐢𝐬𝐬 is the 5th and final book in the Lakeview Harbor series by Samantha Chase, featuring an entertaining friends to lovers romance for Slater and Evie, where one unexpected kiss and a passionate night together changed everything. I’ve been waiting for Slater’s story, and it was a fun blend of sweet romance, emotional family drama, and a priceless found family vibe brought to life by this engaging group of friends that I have loved to get to know throughout this series. I’m always down to read about a committed bachelor finding his game changer, and Evie was definitely that for Slater. At the same time, Evie deserved a man to recognize and appreciate her true awesomeness, and Slater was just the man for the job. Despite their issues with their own families, they were exactly what the other one needed. The small town summer activities, banter, and swoon was just what I needed at the moment, and the epilogue tied everything up so well.
I received an ARC for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️
Slater has always been the one to keep his relationships with women casual due to what he has seen when love goes wrong. He doesn’t put down roots and is always thinking about where he will go and what he will do next however Lakeview Harbor isn’t feeling that way. When his friend Milo brings Evie, his assistant, to help he starts having feelings for her that he has never felt before,
When it comes to romance even though she hasn’t had the best of luck she knows that she is unwilling to settle for anything less than love. Even though the feelings she has for Slater only grow stronger as they spend together she isn’t sure if he will be prepared to give her what she really needs.
This series has centered around friendship and love, and this story is no different. As Slater struggles with his feelings for Evie his friends are there to provide guidance to ensure that he doesn’t allow his fears to hold him back from the woman he has come and the life they could have together.
#Resort Kiss is executive assistant Evie Parker and tour guide and activities director Cal Slater’s entertaining and engaging journey. It’s a bittersweet read because it’s the final book in the Lakeview Harbor Series and it touched me in so many levels. Evie’s boss Milo is opening an office in Harbortown and he has convinced her to come along and help with the set up. Problem is that means spending time with Milo’s friend Slater the man she has crushed on since their first meeting. When they find themself as cabin neighbours and are then paired together in the trivia things get real interesting and when they win the trivia she spontaneously kisses him…. What follows are a lot of heart to heart conversations as this couple start realising they both want more than friendship. This is a beautifully written love story that touched my heart, it’s heartwarming and captivating and once I picked it up there was no putting down.
I always loved reading the Lakeview harbor series and for the last one to be slaters book is awesome.
they have been friends for a few years but when she comes back to the resort to help set up a remote office both didn't know that was when things were going to change
Slater who's always been by proxy under his dad's shadow and didnt want to be who he thought he would be because of his dad's actions really didnt know till he meet evie those few short years ago would be the one to make him realize hes not his dad and breaks free of the shadow that clouded him
evie has always had a good relationship as fiends with slater over the years but feels like she was never to be the one any one chooses. little did she know slater was about to change that.
while at the resort you can see how these two change and become the couple you cant get enough of.
Slater and Evie have been friends for a couple of years, so why does he suddenly want more? Slater has never been the forever type, preferring friendship—or the occasional short fling. Evie, on the other hand, believes in lasting love. She’s at Lakeview Harbor Resort helping her boss establish an East Coast office, but being dumped by her boyfriend in front of Slater definitely wasn’t on her bingo card. Thankfully, she’s tenacious, incredibly organized, and always ready to solve whatever problem comes her way.
I’ve been waiting for Slater’s story and to discover who would finally bring him to his knees. This friends-to-lovers romance captivated me from the very first page, and the slow-burn journey to their happily ever after was completely heartwarming. The banter and easy chemistry between Evie and Slater perfectly showcased the deep connection they’d built over years of friendship.
As always, this close-knit group of friends steals the show. Their humor, unwavering support, and genuine affection for one another are what made this series so special to me. Samantha Chase has a wonderful way of writing stories that leave me feeling content, smiling long after the last page, and excited for whatever she writes next.
Evie Parker is a corporate executive assistant who works for Milo in the Seattle office. Since he is setting up a satellite office at the resort he owns with his buddies, she is going there to help get it going.
Slater is one of the owners and is the adventure guy, never settling or putting down roots. He has been at the resort helping out but is ready to move on. When he flies out to pu Milo he is surprised to see Evie with him.
Evie and Slater are friends and she has crushed on him from the beginning. They are the single ones in the group and hang out together. After a crazy game of Trivia and Evie kisses Slater things take a change in their friendship and it becomes more. "Evie Parker, you are my greatest rush."
But Evie is only there for a month and he doesn't do relationships, so where do they go from here?
4.5 ⭐️ A romance full of sweet moments and growth for both Evie and Slater. They have known each other for a little while and have developed a friendship, but now that she’s spending a month at the resort they get to spend even more time together. That time reveals more than just friendship. Despite that Slater doesn’t do relationships, he can’t resist his attraction to Evie and that this feels different. They have tons of chemistry! She hasn’t had great dating luck but wants marriage and kids, but Slater works to show her that she is lovable exactly how she is. She is driven, sweet, and adventurous. Slater has moved around a lot and avoided commitment but he wants more with her. As their month comes to an end, will they do long distance, find something else, or figure their relationship ran it’s course? A perfect summer read!
I loved being back in Lakeview Harbor and am not ready to say goodbye to this crew! I am so happy that we were given Evie & Slater's story as I love these friends! Slater is a guy that tends to want to roam whenever the urge strikes and he was feeling antsy again and Evie was in Lakeview Harbor to help set up an office for her job as she normally works in Seattle but wanted to help her boss. Loved how Slater was not expecting to see Evie arrive with her boss Milo in Lakeview Harbor but he was very happy. Slater is one of my favorite characters in this series and it was nice to see what his life had been like, experiences he had to realize why he likes to roam at times. When they kiss during a game it totally changed their relationship and my heart melted. This is such a sweet book and the absolute best finale for this series.
I am a longtime fan of Samantha Chase and the worlds she creates. This story is a charming friends-to-lovers story set against the backdrop of the Lakeview Harbor Resort. We are able to visit the characters we have come to love and witness the genuine emotional depth of their friendship. This story is the perfect blend of humor and romance; this book is an irresistible end to the series.
Evie and Slater's friendship provides a solid emotional foundation that allows the slow build of tension until they combust together. Their relationship is filled with moments that will make readers smile, laugh, and swoon.
Lakeview Harbor feels like coming home. There is an amazing sense of community, familiar faces, and unconditional love. The happily ever after is everything. I highly recommend this series! You'll fall in love with each of the couples as they find their happily ever after!
The 5th and final book of the Lakeview Harbor Series, even though I’m sad to see the series come to an end, I have enjoyed all the characters and how they have all grown.
Evie and Slater from friends to lovers, Evie who has had a secret crush on Slater since they met years ago. But after a brief relationship fails, Slater invites her to come and stay at the resort. Slater, who thinks he is not able to trust love or relationships finally gives up and lets Evie in for her to show him he is capable of finding a person.😏
This series was such a great easy to love romance and will be adding this one to the collection with the other ones. Now we wait to see what Samantha comes up with next…☺️
What to expect: 💜Opposites attract 🌸Close proximity 💜Enemies-to-lovers 🌸Found family 💜One night stand
In the conclusion of Samantha Chase's Lakeview Harbor series, we have Resort Kiss. This is Evie and Slater's story. Evie is Slater's best friend's assistant and he sees her at her lowest getting dumped by the man she "thought" she was dating. Slater suggests coming to stay at Lakeview Harbor for a month and just relax. They have always been friends so they can spend some time together and really see the resort. After some thought she jumps at the chance. Once there, Evie and Slater start spending more time together and after an intense trivia game she innocently kisses him in the excitement. But now he can't stop thinking about her, and not in a friend way. Slater has never looked for a lifetime with someone but it is all he can think about with Evie. Taking a chance may be the best thing either of them has ever done. This is one of my favorite series!
Samantha Chase did it again!! This story captured from the very beginning. I could not put it down. I love stories like this one that capture me and I keep revisiting long after I have read the last word. This story is about Slater and Evie, who have been friends for a few years. Let me say Slater isn’t a forever kind of guy while Evie is a happily ever after type of girl. Doesn’t sound like they are each other’s soulmate or are they?? Their banter and chemistry tells you they could have something deeper with very little effort. I loved that they had a slow-burn relationship they could not turn away from even if they wanted to. Their close knit friends with their humor and support help seal the deal. This is definitely a must read.
They say you save the best for last and Slater's story was just that. Finding out he has a famous father that he never wanted to be like, never one to put down roots for very long until Evie comes to visit the resort. Evie and Slater have been friends since Slater and his friends started Lakeview Harbor. Evie's boss is getting ready to settle at the resort and Evie helps come to get him settled. Once Evie is there Slater finds himself wanting to spend time with his friend in more ways than just friends. Can they make it work or will it end when Evie heads back to Seattle? This was such a good series from the first book on. The friends that came together to make the resort work and the significant others they found a long the way. Great characters, great small town feel.
