Crowned In Flames: The Kidane Dynasty Series

Rate this book
Makeda Kidane is powerful, feared, and next in line to rule—but her biggest challenge isn’t the throne.

It’s the bond she never saw coming.

After a mission gone wrong, she finds herself tied to two wolves—Zareb and Nuru—men who shouldn’t exist in her world, yet feel like they’ve always been a part of it. Their connection is intense, undeniable, and strong enough to challenge everything her kingdom was built on.

As her power grows and her control is tested, Makeda quickly realizes the danger isn’t just outside her walls—it’s within them. Betrayal is brewing, secrets are unraveling, and the closer she gets to the truth, the harder it becomes to trust anyone.

Now, with her mates at her side and her enemies closing in, Makeda must rise into her power before everything is taken from her.

Witches, elemental powers, werewolves, royal drama, betrayal, bonded mates, and a FMC that does not play? I ate this up in less than 48 hours 😮‍💨🔥

The FMC is headstrong, powerful, and refuses to let anyone control her, even when everyone around her seems to fear her strength. Except her loving family. I loved the family dynamics, the magic system, and the why choose element with the two mates. The tension, betrayals, and twists kept me turning pages.

Now that ending?? Absolutely criminal 😭 I need book two immediately because I still have questions and I need answers.

If you love fantasy romance with strong heroines, magic, werewolves, spice, betrayal, and “who can I trust?” energy… this is the one

Babyyyy Crowned In Flame by Lala B had me hooked from page ONE! Betrayal, magic, steam, dark fantasy romance, and somehow TWO MATES involved?! Yeah… I was over here screaming WTF the entire time 😭🔥
Makeda is definitely THAT girl, but baby the secrets and drama surrounding her? Whew! Lala B knew exactly what she was doing with this one. And let me tell y’all now… there’s supposed to be a BOOK 2 👀 so don’t say I didn’t warn y’all when you end up obsessed and needing answers immediately after finishing!
⚠️ Please make sure y’all check those trigger warnings before Reading

This was such a fun, addictive read. The world building, the political drama, the romance, the tension… it all kept me hooked. Makeda was the kind of FMC I love baby she was powerful, stubborn, and lowkey one bad decision away from burning everything down 😭. And the romantasy vibes? SO good. I especially loved how messy and emotional the relationships were while still giving epic fantasy energy. Definitely one of those books that pulls you in fast and has you thinking about the characters after you finish.

Crowned In Flames is about Makeda, the eldest child/daughter of a royal witch family (may have a few spoilers). Makeda is a strong, confident witch, but she is also delusional. The person closest to Makeda has started to seem more like an enemy than a close friend, and Makeda notices, but high-key still believes they would never betray her because of their long friendship. In the midst of this, the Witch Council Court is pushing for Makeda to find a mate and force a grand ball for all those of royal blood to come to see if she is their mate. But really, the ball was a setup in my opinion to force Makeda to claim her situationship in front of her subjects as the next royal pair. In the fire that burns inside of Makeda, she makes the right decision, in my opinion, and rejects the control the Witch Council wants to have over her. Furthermore, Makeda had to face reality real fast with the ambush her and her brother faced on the mission and with finding her mates, Zareb & Nuru, at the same time. With Makeda finding her two mates that betray her, she keeps "denying" it is front and center, and there's no hiding from the facts in front of her. I will say Makeda is strategic in how she handles the betrayal and keeps a cool head about it until it's time to act, after stopping being fully delusional. Along the way, Makeda and her mates start to build their bond and figure out a way to get Zareb & Nuru back to "normal," and when they do, it's like the universe knew what was needed and showed them the way. With that, Maked, Zared, & Nuru's powers continue to grow each day, but with that growth comes more corruption and betrayal. The powers that be are showing their hand more now, and it comes to a head when Makeda has to face the one person who's been by her side for so long, and they clash. This clash has been brewing on the surface for a long while for one side, and it just had to happen sooner than that person expected. More hidden agendas, secrets, and traitors are revealed, and Makeda must decide how to act to address all this as the future Queen or as a scorned woman who has been through so much in a short time.
