This is a fair assessment, I think. Clearly a gargantuan amount of research when into this piece of work, which is really impressive. But this is really oddly edited, almost distractingly so. They don’t explain their methodology for finding this new information about his online behaviour until nearly Chapter 10, and the chapters themselves seem to jump back and forth all over the place.
An essential read for anyone wanting to be informed. I was introduced to another world which scared and dismayed me. This book is well researched and the evidence presented logically. The failings of our NZ processes are hard to read.
This book contains important information and raises disturbing questions about the March 15, 2019 terrorist attack. It questions the official findings that Tarrant acted alone and that there was no possible way the massacres in Christchurch could have been prevented. According to Wilson and Dziwulski, the 2020 Royal Commission was not justified in reaching these conclusions. The book vindicates the analysis made by the World Socialist Web Site, which denounced the Royal Commission as a whitewash and a coverup of the state agencies, even though Wilson and Dziwulski refrain from drawing that conclusion.
To understand one of our country's darkest moments, we must understand the individual behind it and how they reached that point. This book clearly shows how easily someone can be drawn into the world of the far right, and the damage that can result. In the current climate, I believe this is an incredibly important story to understand.
