This book should replace our next year through with Memoria Press Kindergarten when the next child gets there in place of Sra Phonics 1 . Flipping through it now it looks to be exactly what AppleBlossom needs and much more interesting with more relevant images and illustrations than the SRA book. It also provides more varied activities on a page with tracing, copywork, line connecting, circling and more. The two color tone images also provide a much more appealing tapestry to spend time with than just the black and white pages of SRA and Core Skills. It appears that Level A was republished for 2013, Level B for 2014, and I'm going to assume that Level C is in the works to be republished as well. A is blue and black/grey type, while B is red, and C is brown. This is all very attractive to the eye and not overly distracting as a full color page would be. However if full color is your thing it appears that there is a supplement (now on my wishlist) called 'Hearts and Hands' that is in full color in the second edition copyright 2013 (while the first edition is a similar two-toned illustration and lesser price).

We've spent most of the half year of Kindergarten using SRA 1 and have not been a fan. Picking this up now it looks exactly like the level she can accomplish. I'm very excited.
