Cuanto más compleja es la historia, más importante es contarla simple.
Y cuando lo que se cuenta es demasiado triste, la mejor salida es el humor. Más o menos por ahí va.

‘Que se vayan todos’ is the debut novel by Argentine writer Ramón Starc, published in 2026 by Editorial Candaya. It’s set during the Argentine crisis of December 2001, when the ‘corralito’ froze people’s bank accounts and massive protests erupted. The book is ‘coral’, meaning it weaves together multiple characters’ perspectives like a bank heir, a Chinese shopkeeper, a retiree, a lawyer, a journalist, and a young rock fan who all cross paths around Plaza de Mayo during the turmoil. One distinctive feature is that it’s divided into seven chapters that can be read in different orders, emphasizing how understanding those events depends on one’s viewpoint. It’s less a political manifesto and more a look at how a national crisis reshapes everyday lives. The author mixes fast pacing, humor, and irony to tell a very dramatic story, avoiding an overly somber tone. If you lived through the 2001 crisis in Argentina, or are curious about that period, it will probably land with an impact.

Un librazo. Contar la crisis de 2001 en Argentina a través de 7 historias en paralelo es una apuesta arriesgada, y acá funciona: cada personaje te mete en un ángulo distinto del colapso, y las líneas se rozan sin cruzarse del todo, lo cual le da al conjunto una fuerza tremenda.
No cae en el golpe bajo ni en la nostalgia solemne. Hay mucho humor y humanidad, así que a pesar de lo durísimo del contexto, se disfruta muchísimo. Me reí, me angustié y terminé súper enganchado.
Cada voz tiene identidad propia y el pulso no decae.
Lo recomiendo fuerte.

Esperaba un libro que hable de política y macroeconomía, y, por suerte, tiene muy poco de eso. Es un libro que habla de amor, de relaciones heredadas, de justicia, de ética, del bien y el mal. Usa un contexto histórico, único, e irrepetible para trascender sobre los instintos más genuinos del ser humano llevado al extremo.
Es irónico, gracioso, impredecible y profundo. Me reí, me emocione y me cuestione al leerlo. Me encantó.

Impresiona pensar que se trata de un debut.

Tiene una prosa tremendamente cuidada, voces entrañables y una variedad en ángulos que se complementan muy bien.

Será un autor al que seguir la pista.
