Tabian Garr has a secret life outside of the Rogue Pack. He’s been hiding what he does for a career, and for a very important reason. But when a beautiful human in a coffee shop talks to him, he thinks it might be time to expose what he really is. She’s mysterious in ways that call to his wolf and makes him want to find out everything about her. She’s dragging a lot of baggage, but for Tabian, the hard parts of her life are right up his alley. A little damage on a gorgeous woman is so sexy to a man like him, and especially if he can rise to the challenge of earning her trust. Tru has some big secrets of her own though, and they could change the make-up of Tabian’s entire Pack. She’s dragging danger with her, and now Tabian has to figure out where to take them from here.

Tru is at rock bottom and trying to dig out of a hole that her ex put her in. Tabian is the exact creature she has been searching for, but not for herself. She needs a werewolf to help the boy she’s been raising. When Tabian sets his sites on her, however, she is equal parts excited and terrified. He is a monstrous werewolf and she’s been around his kind before. They are brutes, but Tabian seems different. He seems like the kind of steady she has always wished for. Trust is impossible for a woman who has been through what she has, but the more Tru pushes Tabian away, the more he is proving not all men are bad. And maybe…just maybe…if she tells him why she is really hanging around, he can save her from certain disaster.

Don’t miss this full-length emotional and exciting fifth installment in T. S. Joyce’s bestselling Same series, where alliances are tested, friendships are on the brink, love runs deep, loyalty is everything, and war is always on the horizon.

****Content Warning: Explicit spicy love scenes, naughty language, territory line disputes, some violence, and piles of sexy shifter secrets. Intended for mature audiences.

There was something oddly sweet about this one. From how Tru and Tabian met, to how they started talking, to Tru always being in Bay's corner, to Tabian and the rest of the group having Bay's back form the minute they met him. Sure it wasn't pretty at first, but it was tough love and needed. I really liked how this one ended, loved seeing everyone happy and family declared.

The H is a loner who streams camping trips to human audience. Human h is raising a shifter boy when she meets the H and she falls for him. Took a while for them to find their way forward. Good story.

my New Favorite

This ended up being one of the strongest books in the series for me. It reads like a true slow burn—not because the romance is lacking, but because the relationship is built through trust, stability, and emotional growth rather than constant intensity or focus on physical connection.

Tabian and Tru’s dynamic really worked. From the beginning there’s tension and misunderstanding, but what stood out most was how quickly the story shifted into something more grounded. Instead of relying only on attraction, it became about partnership—what it actually looks like to function as a team when things get difficult.

The introduction of Bay added a deeper emotional layer to the story. The situation surrounding him immediately raises stakes, but it’s how Tabian responds that changes everything. His willingness to step into Bay’s world, advocate for him, and push for better conditions—especially around isolation and schooling—reframes him as more than just a romantic lead. He becomes someone capable of real stability and care.

That shift is what makes the romance work. Tru realizing she doesn’t have to carry everything alone, and that Tabian can be steady in chaos, is one of the most impactful parts of the book.

There’s also a subtle meta moment where Tru is reading a shifter romance within a shifter world, which adds a fun layer for long-time readers of the series. It feels like a small wink to those who have followed the author’s earlier “Gray Back” era into this larger interconnected universe.

Overall, this is a 5-star read for me. A slower, emotionally focused installment centered on healing, trust, and found-family dynamics. One of the more memorable entries in the series.

All these characters are super well written. The MFC has been gaslit and manipulated by the previous boyfriend and the MMC is grown up enough to handle it.

“I’m sorry,” she murmured.
“Don’t apologize, Tru. I’m not fragile and I get that you were hurt.”

I didn't think most men even realize when they are being fragile. I love his ability to be direct.

“No, no, no, he texted. You do not get to light me up for something I’m not doing and then ignore my call to fix it….Answer my call and woman up about getting onto me. I have a right to listen and then say my piece.”

His being direct and asking for what he wants allows her to be the same and know she is safe to do so.

The teenager is also super well done. He's so angry and hurt and understandable, and it makes sense why he responds to the MMC's guidance (eventually).

“He’s got the demeanor of a honey badger with a bee sting directly in his eye, that slept on the wrong side of the bed, had a bad week at work, fell down some stairs and landed in front of his crush, got dumped, and ran out of snacks.”

The dynamics of the pack are lovely and, as usual, I’m filled with envy. Also, nod to the MMC's line of work which is such a peculiar moment of our day and age. I almost wondered if he was going to have an Only Fans page and wondered how the author was going to work that out….

I'm somewhat unsettled that 10:10 got changed to 11:11. Bruh.

A surprise for the Rogue Pack

I am enjoying reading this series following the Rogue Pack. This book features Tabian. He is pack but feels removed for some reason. He has been working on himself and making his own money to get a new home similar to his other pack mates.

One day in a coffee shop Tabian feels someone staring at him. He does not know why, so he approaches her, Trudy aka Tru. Well Tru is very nervous about meeting Tabian. She does not tell him the whole truth, at first, but she is surprised that she is attracted to Tabian. This is why their journey starts.

I would like to ask the author just what was that ending complication with Zane? He was so lame. The next book features Bridger. Read On!

I liked this book until about 75% in. There was a huge continuity discrepancy that I could not get over.

Tru is caring for her stepson. She says in Chapter One that Bay's mother has "passed away" and that the father signed over rights to her. However, in Chapter Fifteen the storyline switches and Bay says he speaks to his mother and was texting her as recently as a year ago. I thought that the difference would be explained that she "passed away" within the last year, but it was never addressed.

I have read a lot of TS Joyce books and have never seen an error like this before. Very odd and out of character for her writing.

Same One - Tabian & Tru

Same One - Tabian & Tru

‘Sometimes family wasn’t blood. Sometimes a person had to go through a lot for a long time to land where they were supposed to be, and to appreciate it properly.’

An underlying theme in each of TS Joyce’s stories is the beating heart of family and every time we watch individuals, both human and shifter, find their heart.

Tabian is content with his new Rogue pack, yet something is missing that has a hole shape inside him. When he unexpectedly meets Tru, a single stepmom raising teenage wolf on her own, they find a way to fill that hole and create a family that becomes a part of the pack.

I absolutely adore these stories!

Absolutely Loved It

I'm a huge fan of TS Joyce's books but every once in a while one of her stories hits a special spot. This is one of them. Tru is a human trying to raise her ex's teenage werewolf son on her own. She loves Bay like her own but he's dealing multiple issues. Parents who abandoned him, attending a human school where everyone is afraid of him, and trying to deal with his wolf on his own. Then Tru meets Tabian and both her life and Bay's does a complete turnaround. Suddenly they have a family and a pack that becomes everything. Their happy ever after leaves you smiling. Definitely a book worth reading.

Really liked the direction this story went

I liked that this book had a more intimate and sensitive view of the Rogue Pack Not as violent and warring as the others and a deeper look into exactly how lonely being different can be. Tabian and Tru showed a different dynamic where the Male really had his head on straight and the female needed a little work to be whole and secure, then add a difficult teenager and the story just grabs all the feels.
As always this book and author is well worth my time and $$

Tabian's strength

T S Joyce has created another series with storylines that draw the reader in and provide satisfaction of a just conclusion.
Tabian is part of the rogue pack but still holds himself slightly apart. Meeting Trump and her stepson opens a new path for all of them to find that part of themselves that needs connections and understanding. Well written and very enjoyable.

TS Joyce books are like comfort food. As soon as a new one comes out I drop all the other books to read it. This one was as good as the others in this series. Tabian and Tru were so sweet together and it was amazing to watch Tabian heal her hurts from previous relationships. Where do I find one like that? Tears and giggles reading this one. I'm sad there's only one more left in this series. I've really enjoyed this crew.

It takes a village

It takes a village to raise a child and it takes a Pack to raise a werewolf pup. One of my fav books of the series. The love story of Tabian and Tru is a story of how a good man who is loving, patient, kind and “present” when things are tough….can heal a broken woman and her stepson, Bray. The support of the Rogue Pack in helping Tru and Bray heal is so heart warming, a real feel good read despite the hard road this Rogue Pack” has traveled.

okay

Different read, but good. Pack dynamics to raise a basically orphaned teenage werewolf..
Good story, but a bit too much teenage angst and not enough personal time between the main characters. Always one intimate scene and then move on to pack issues.

Not a favorite of mine from this author.

Tabain and Tru

Oh my goodness. I don’t think that I have cried while reading a book at the happy parts in forever. This was such a beautiful tale of two people coming together and showing how a partner is supposed to show up. Tru is strong, a bit broken, capable, beautiful and wicked smart. Tabian loves her and is there for her and her stepson. Love this pack and this couple.

As expected!

Loved the emotion and angst brought forth through their story. I only wish there had been just a smidge, more action and intensity, but it did not diminish the quality of the book. As always, she is an author I would recommend again and again. Can’t wait for the next book.

My favorite author does it again! I absolutely loved all of the characters but Tabien was my favorite. I love me a spicy book and the spice in this was low but it was done so well that I didn’t even miss it. I can’t wait for Bridger’s story and hopefully get a glimpse of how Bay is doing! <3

I liked Tabian. He was in and patient and ready to communicate and just put himself out there. Tru is being torn in two different directions, but she’s loyal to a fault and trying her best. There’s a lot of to and froing, the best of found family, and the pack is seeming more settled.

Another one to get lost in

Same as always, I.e brilliant.
It is truly hard being a teenager, being a werewolf one definitely harder. It’s at least 50 years since I was one but I could relate. But that’s T s Joyce’s cleverness in making us relate with her characters.

a different take on who was the broken one in this Rogue Pack

Again, another wonderful story of a broken wolf, a deep love that had to go through it, and the love that pulls a family together. I just loved Tabian, Tru and Bay’s story. The Rogue Pack keeps growing stronger.
