Devon Sinclair loved her life. As one of the biggest parasites in DC, she spent every day bribing officials and ruining the American dream for the working class as she lobbied politicians on behalf of her clients. At the top of her game, she was highly sought after by every dirt bag corporation and scum with their own agenda to ruin America for financial gain and power.
None of them had a clue who her true employers were. The truth was, she had chosen sides in the hidden, dark war consuming the world long ago and she had never regretted it. Until she stumbled across the strange alien who literally walked into her path outside her house and set her heart and body on fire.
Drago fle’ te’ Trugh had come to the strange city of Washington, DC to help his brother Viper’s mate find a Prime hunter and to help track the traitorous Prime who had attempted to kill one of their own. He’d been in town only days when he ran into the beautiful, strong and enigmatic woman who short circuited his energy and left him aching to touch her. The more clues that Drago and his brothers uncover, the more convinced he becomes that the woman of his dreams is among the members of the Relian cult trying to destroy the world and the human race.
With a Prime traitor close on their heels and the depth of the betrayal becoming clearer, Drago will have only one chance to save her, but only if he can convince her to turn from the cult determined to destroy them all.
I loved the other books. this one I didn't care for all that much. I found the story line contrived. as if the original menace wasn't sufficient now we have a second megalomaniac out to destroy humans...one who is a sadistic sociopath torturing women to turn them into soulless killers. we also find our heroes, many of them, are bigots against a minority of their own people. No, I didn't like this story line at all.
Can't wait for the next book. I have read every book so far in this series and they are awesome. I have no complaints other than the dark prime needs to die.
I didn't realize that I was reading the book out of order by letting my Kindle tell me next book so be careful. There are a couple of twists in this book. There's still a lot of action and a badas$ heroine. Drago can be so tough and there are some gruesome scenes but yet get years in his eyes with emotions. Getting the next book in the series immediately.
All I can say is that this book wowed me! The situation with the Valendrans, the hybrid Valendran/Relians like Grai and the other Valendran hybrids becomes even more complicated. When it is discovered that a Dark Prime is loose in Washington Lara, the main Prime, decided to do a reconnaissance. From then on it tea?my becomes confused but in a good way. This one keeps you guessing all the way through.
I really like the First Wave and Second Wave series. Drago is part of the Second Wave series. Drago's is the calm one among his brothers and it shows in Vipers book; and in his story we get a more in-depth insight into his personality. Devon gave off mixed signals, and I wasn't to sure about her at all. I have to say hats off to the author cause I didn't figure it out till the battle. I know I should of figured it out sooner but I was so into the story I didn't see it. We get introduced to two new groups of individuals as well, and there were a few surprises along the way. I really enjoy this author and these "two" series BUT I would really recommend you reading the books in order, starting with First wave. It will give you more background on the entire story.
This was Drago and Devon's book and if you (like me) are into your alien love story every once in a while then this is a MUST read !! I think I liked the First Wave series best, but the Second Wave stories have been equally great x You will not be disappointed !!
