Wow! 👀

Not only is this my new favorite story by Mila, it’s one of my favorite audiobook performances of the year (so far).

I was completely captivated by the story, gothic vibes, and the actual darkness in the retelling of Emily Brontë’s classic love story, Wuthering Heights. The dark, yet whimsical feel kept me from being able to push pause, and the slight sound effects created almost a visual experience for me. I was entranced with everything from the storytelling and characters to the twists and revengeful moments. I absolutely loved this audio.

Performed in a duet narration, Heather Firth, JF Harding, and James Cassidy were brilliant. Their performances gave an explosion of emotions and had me locked in from start to finish.

Wainscott Hollow is a dark retelling of Wuthering Heights that had a twisted and depravity feel, yet kept the dark whimsical tone. There’s revenge, forbidden love, naughtiness and of course spice. The narration was incredible and I cannot recommend this audio enough.

The audio was delicious and narrated by Heather Firth, JF Harding and James Cassidy who nailed this. Degradation is Mila Crawford’s strong suit, so if you are here for a spicy good dirty talking time, this is it.

This is a Wuthering Heights reimagining with a dark romance edge. I wish there was more of a mafia explanation though, and while it is labeled a “bully romance” the bully isn’t the love interest. Unfortunately, for me, the plot felt messy and rushed, but come for the spice and you’ll be grand.

Ahhh!! Forbidden Romance always seems to hit! 🖤

Mila continues to bring what I refer to as the all-encompassing dark romance experience in a four-hour audiobook. If you’re looking for a quick read/listen that satisfies that dark romance appetite, Mila’s books will do it every time.

Adopted siblings Heath and Kat, who bonded through trauma, abuse, and neglect, pulled me in from the very beginning. The two having to hide what they meant to each other while trying to navigate their feelings was heartbreaking.

I always recommend listening to Mila’s books because she has an incredible talent for curating the perfect cast, and once again, Wainscott Hollow is no exception.

Heather Firth as Kat and JF Harding as Heath are two of the most criminally underrated narrators in the audio space. They delivered exactly what I’ve come to expect from them every single time; emotion, yearning, heartbreak, and insane spice, all perfectly wrapped up with a bow. And JF narrating the degradation? Phew. I wasn’t ready. My goodness. 😮‍💨🔥

James Cassidy portraying more characters than I’ve ever heard him perform in a single book? He brings a level of immersion that only James knows how to deliver. At this point, I’m running out of adjectives for him. He’s just that good.

I will never get enough of Mila’s books. They are deep, dark, depraved, emotional, and oh-so-damn spicy .

This book is Dark, Obsessive, & Completely consuming.

From the very first line, I was hooked. This isn’t your typical romance—it’s raw, twisted, and filled with a love that borders on dangerous. Watching a broken boy grow into a man fueled by obsession, pain, and the need to reclaim what he lost? It was intense, emotional, and honestly a little unhinged in the best way.

The story pulls you into that push and pull between love and darkness—where nothing is simple, and everything hurts just a little too good.

And the audiobook Absolutely phenomenal.

J.F. Harding DELIVERED that obsessive, possessive energy flawlessly. His performance was gripping—you could feel every ounce of pain, control, and desperation in his voice.

Heather Firth brought such emotional depth and vulnerability. She made you feel every moment of tension, heartbreak, and conflicted love.

And James Cassidy added that extra layer of grit and intensity that made the entire experience even more immersive.

Together, this cast didn’t just narrate the story—they brought it to life.

Okeeeee im not okay :')

i went into this expecting the usual mila crawford darkness but this was different like it was the same Mila darkness buttttt it was heavier and it's also just sad like really sad bc at the end of the day it's just this story about two people who have this forever love and they can't let it go even when they probably should.

heath and kat idek they just completely took over my brain. their love isnt cute, it's rly complicated and tbh kinda toxic at times but i was sooooo invested.
there's this constant ouchy feeling through the whole book you can just feel the years of hurt and longing and i literally could not put it down bc i neededdd them to find their way back. i needed that hea so bad :') i couldn't stop till i got it.

heath is really possessive and obsessive and morally grey but you can still see that broken lil boy who just wanted the one person who ever saw him, i wanted to hug him and also maybe shake him at the same time.

The setting was a huge part of why this worked sooo well, Wainscott Hollow has this gothic almost suffocating depth to it that matches the story perf like you feel it in every scene and the spice is spicing and it's dark but it works bc mila doesn't just throw it in, it's not just for shock you feel all their history and pain in every single moment.

this book had me feeling everything, i was angry, heartbroken, stressed, hopeful and just sobbing until the last page.

Audio version was really good! 3 great narrators recorded in multi cast duet narration.

The book was a fast listen. Had some dark elements but was pretty light IMO but I have not found a book yet that triggers me.... I say dark elements because I know some could be triggered. So if you worry about triggers or have them check them out. I didn't even listen to them at the start of the book I find TW to sometimes give spoilers.

Anyways I normally give good reviews on books has to be total trash for me to find something so bad there is nothing worth liking. Some DNF books I have given ok/good reviews just because if the book was not my cup of tea does not mean it's bad. I did find this one to be predictable. With as many books I do it's almost impossible to find one that is not predictable in a lot of ways. I did not predict everything in this one but most of it I did.

With that said this book has a few errors mostly in epilogue, there were a few others. But nothing that ruined the book. I have read so many reviews from so many people who freak and give 1 or 2 reviews if a book has minor errors like the ones listed below. I find them kinda funny and cute. Authors are people and writing is an art. Art is not perfect or can be perfect for one and horrible for the next person. Yes sometimes I find them annoying if they change the whole timeline or contradict the plot. These I didn't find bad or that they ruined anything. I multitask when listening to audiobooks so minor things like below can sometimes pull me back into the book. I will stop and question if what I heard was correct or not. Sometimes go back if it was not far back. The items in the epilogue listed below were so close together it was nothing to hit the skip back button a few times and check.


Few things I think that could have given this book a little push to be better were some major plot points/turs did not on page (or in ear, in my case). The storyline skipped forward 5, 10 years or hours. This book would not have been as fast of a listen/read. Just over a 300 page book and just over 5 hours is not a "short" book but definitely not long. But would have enjoyed some of the bigger plot events to happen on page.


I found the book enjoyable. The Audio was done really good. I love that Mila Crawford has her audiobooks mostly recorded in duet with two or more narrators. I picked this book for the Author and the narrators. This was the second Mila Crawford book I did in 24 hours. Second of Mila Crawford's books that had Heather Firth and James Cassidy, but this one also had J.F. Harding, so win win there!

Epilogue I went back and checked to see if I missed something. But how can someone rip off a sun dress watch it hit the dirt below to a few minutes later after a chase in woods then rip yoga pants of the same person? Also later that day sitting by the fire drinking wine ... The MMC "I want kids and dog". MFC "you want kids and dog... I'm pregnant" maybe this FMC is a drinker while pregnant, seems totally out of character. But I didn't create the character so I could be wrong. Also maybe she wears yoga pants under her sun dress...

Main trope: This is a dark, taboo romance.

Summary: This story follows Kat and Heath. The book begins in the current timeline before going back to when the main characters were teenagers, highlighting a couple of significant moments in their lives as well as the progression of their relationship from friends to more, despite the taboo aspect considering the MMC was technically the adoptive brother of the FMC since her father chose that option after the MMC lost his mother.

This time period also recalls some interactions between the main characters and the FMC’s biological brother who is a horrific human and we learn the full extent of that later in the book. When the FMC’s father passes away, she is still underage which makes her brother now her legal guardian and he wastes no time showing her how things are going to be. The MMC knows they just need to graduate and become of legal age and they can leave the horrible situation they are in. The night of graduation, the MMC is hurt causing him to slip into a coma for several months. When he wakes up, he’s ready to move forward with the plans him and the FMC have made but instead, she ends up breaking his heart and leaving him.

Ten years later he has returned to make sure those responsible for all the bad that happened pay for what they did. He believes this includes the FMC until he learns the truth but not before her brother decides he has some unfinished business of his own, and this time the FMC doesn’t know if she will survive it. After all this time, she should have known to never underestimate the MMC, because one things for sure, no one touches what belongs to him.

Final thoughts: Okay, so she’s dark and slightly taboo. Let’s be honest, they were close friends on the verge of more thanks to teenage hormones before his mom passed away and the FMC’s father decided to adopt him. So technically it is what it is even though it doesn’t feel like it.

This is a novella so the fact that I found it dragged in some places doesn’t speak highly for the writing. But it was dark and very easy to listen too and I thought the narrators did a good job in duet format so for these reasons, I would recommend.

I received this ALC by Mila Crawford and as I am always when I get an ALC from Mila, I was super excited and she did not disappoint. This audiobook was narrated by Heather Firth, JF Harding and James Cassidy. When I say these narrators embodied these characters, they really brought them to life. I really liked the audio sounds that were included as well; it made the book all that more realistic.

This book is a Wuthering Heights retelling, and I have always been a Bronte fan. This was the retelling that I didn’t know I needed BUT this was freaking amazing… Wuthering but with all the spice 🌶️ I LOVE!

This book follows Kat and Heath who have become best friends after he and his mother move into Wainscott Hollow after the death of Kat’s mom to help raise Kat and her brother. Then more tragedy happens and Heath ends up losing his mother and Mr. Shaw decides to legally adopt Heath. Just when you think things are going to be okay for Kat and Heath, more tragedy befalls them but this time everything changes and not for the good.

The story then picks up 10 years later and Heath has set the stage for revenge. This story had me on the edge of my seat! Knowing how Wuthering Heights ends, I was prepared for heartbreak and tears that I still had, but not in the way I thought. The spice in this book was in true Mila style – PHENOMENAL! This book was about more than just the spicy scenes; this was a beautifully written book that weaved dark themes and into a beautifully told second chance romance. This book has the ending that I needed from Wuthering.

I just LOVE Mila’s writing and I’m never disappointed and if you pick this book/audiobook up, you won’t be disappointed either.

I thought Wainscott Hollow was going to leave me overheated… I wasn’t prepared for it to leave me heartbroken too.

If there was ever a sign that the book gods were smiling down on me, it was getting my very first ARC from Mila Crawford. And did I immediately abandon all responsibilities to read Wainscott Hollow? Absolutely. Without hesitation.

When you hear Mila Crawford, you already know you’re about to get pages packed with scorching chemistry, obsessive devotion, and enough heat to leave your Kindle begging for mercy. Wainscott Hollow delivered every single thing I expected… and then somehow gave me even more. My Kindle survived. I’m not entirely sure I did. 🥵

But here’s what I think readers sometimes overlook when it comes to Mila’s books: the character work.

The spice is phenomenal, yes. We all know that. But what makes it hit so hard is the emotional foundation underneath it. Every glance, every touch, every moment carries weight because Mila makes you feel these characters before she makes you fall for them.

And Heath and Katelyn? They absolutely wrecked me.

Their story is raw, messy, heartbreaking, obsessive, beautiful, and painfully human. At its core, this isn’t just a romance—it’s a story about a love that refuses to die, even when life does everything possible to tear it apart.

There were moments when I was gripping my Kindle so tightly I thought I might crack the screen. There were moments I was smiling like an idiot. And there were moments when I was genuinely sobbing, whispering “no, no, no” into the void because my heart simply could not cope.

Wainscott Hollow is proof that Mila Crawford doesn’t just write spice—she writes stories that consume you. Stories that burn. Stories that hurt. Stories that stay with you long after you’ve turned the final page.

And honestly? I’m still emotionally recovering. ❤️‍🔥

👀 What did I just listen to?!? How do I describe this??? It had classic, VC Andrews romance vibes, but if it was DARK AF in a way that only Mila Crawford can do😈.

I went into this after reviewing the trigger warnings, and I’m glad I did. If you’re unsure, Read. The. Triggers! I promise it won’t spoil the story, but it gave me a little warning before jumping into the deep end.

I have read all of Mila Crawford’s Darkly Ever After series and a bunch of her dark romances, but for some reason this was darkest for me. Maybe it was the drastic swing from light to dark, but wow. 😮 This was basically a pitch black romance IMO. I absolutely adored it 😁

It’s was a wild ride from the prologue onward. I had no idea where this story was going. Mila zigged when I thought she was gonna zag. It was such a crazy listen. (Mila does say that it’s loosely based on Wuthering Heights characters, but I’ve never read it, so I don’t know if that would have helped understand where the story was going… Probably not, tho. 😂)

Heather Firth and JF Harding were perfection! I would love to see some of their outtakes from this recording 🤭. My flabbers were gasted just LISTENING to this story. I can’t imagine how crazy it would be to perform it 🫣 They rocked as Kate and Heath!

I think I hated every single character that James Cassidy played in this audiobook, which a testament to how versatile he is as a performer. Well played, sir 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 He is such a good bad-guy.

And props (pun intended) to PinUp Audio. This production company has single handedly made me enjoy sound effects in audiobooks. I didn’t think it would happen, but they converted me 🫶🏽

Overall Thoughts: After listening to this reimagining of Wurthering Heights by Mila, I’m not sure if I want to read the original or watch the movie, because I liked this version so much. I think the story it is based off may be a let down after listening to Wainscott Hallow. Since I can’t compare it to the original, I’ll say how much I enjoyed Mila’s version. It had emotion, turmoil, and angst. Plus, all the things you would expect from a book by Mila, darkness, depravity, and high heat. Heather was excellent as Kat, sweet and innocent in the beginning, and the tortured emotion she exuded throughout sucked you in. J.F. Is perfect as Heath, soft when he needs to be and ruthless when it calls for it. James was excellent as the mix of male characters he voiced and took this book to another level.

I went into Wainscott Hollow expecting obsession, toxicity, and enough sexual tension to short-circuit my headphones. What I didn't expect was to have my chest ripped open while simultaneously questioning every morally questionable decision Heath made because... respectfully... I'd let that man ruin my life too.

This audiobook absolutely consumed me.

Heath and Kat's story is messy, devastating, obsessive, heartbreaking, infuriating, and somehow still incredibly beautiful. The angst? Suffocating. The yearning? Illegal. The chemistry? My headphones deserve workers' comp.

And can we PLEASE talk about this narration?!

They didn't narrate this book—they performed it.

J.F. Harding's Heath had me kicking my feet one minute and clutching my emotional support blanket the next. Heather Firth perfectly captured Kat's vulnerability, strength, and heartbreak, making every emotional scene hit even harder. And James Cassidy slipped into every supporting role so effortlessly that the entire production felt cinematic.

Duet narration should honestly be the standard because THIS is how you make a story completely take over someone's brain.

Yes, the spice is absolutely filthy (thank you, Mila 😌), but what makes it hit so much harder is how deeply these characters love, hurt, and destroy each other. Every intimate scene carries years of longing, resentment, grief, and obsession behind it. That's what makes Mila's books stand out for me. The spice is incredible—but the emotional damage is what lingers.

Please, PLEASE read the content warnings before diving in because this book goes to some very dark places, and they are not there for shock value.

Final verdict?
I came for the smut.
I stayed for the emotional devastation.
I left with trust issues and another fictional man permanently living rent-free in my head.

Mila Crawford... respectfully... don't you EVER stop writing books exactly like this.

Once again Mila delivers, because she always does and I needed this after my last.

Wainscott Hollow tells the story of Heath and Kat, former childhood friends, then foster siblings, and finally young lovers as teenagers. Growing up and living together only to be separated for years after an incident lands Heath in the hospital for months. A decade later, he returns to Wainscott Hollow in a revenge mission against those who wronged him.

Inspired by Wuthering Heights, Mila slayed the writing. The descriptions of the landscape (swap the gloomy Yorkshire moorlands for the beaches in Montauk), the mansion and its symbolic relevance, the way the characters express their emotions…Honestly, only during the dialogue was I reminded this is the 21st century. And that was fantastic because, as much as I hope my English Lit professor never finds this while I acknowledge the weight Bronte’s novel has, boy did I revel in the fact that someone finally made these two fvck their hate out of each other.

Mila always has the best choice for narrators. The chemistry between Heather Firth and J.F. Harding was off the charts. You can feel the desperation and love their characters have for each other. The yearning was so intense, ugh, I loved it!

Don’t even get me started on the spice. This was a dream k!nk list for me. And Harding delivered like a king. Heath’s dirty talk was top tier and more than once I needed a timeout because it’s hot enough as it is, and I don’t fit in my freezer.

James Cassidy did phenomenally. I’m so used to him playing the dominant MMC type, that listening to him as a pathetic, weak, unlikable villain took some getting used to. He made my blood boil for very different reasons than usual and I’d rage internally whenever Henry’s character was in the scene. That said, Eddie’s character being degraded like the POS he was…top tier experience.

This was such a fun ride and it was only 5h long so perfect for a snack in between! Totally recommend!

Kat & Heath are adopted siblings & bestfriends growing up. But as much as they try and deny it, they end up falling for each other. After the loss of her father, Kat does what she can to protect Heath from the wrath of her unhinged older brother Henry. So she tells him that she never loved him, and tells him to leave.

10 years later... Kat is married to Eddie whose a "freind" of Henry's. Honestly, Eddie seemed like a cool dude in the beginning and turned up being an abusive rape fantasy husband and that threw me off a bit.

Heath worked hard the past 10 years to get where he is and to get revenge and that is exactly what he did & he got his “sister” back🥵..

Overall I enjoyed the audio, the performance was chef’s kiss👩🏻‍🍳💋.. The spice, degradation and dirty talk I have nothing to say = TOP TIER.
But the story was a bit messy, I didn’t really get a feeling of a bully romance? Her brother was a jerk/bully but never the love interest. Heath became part of the mafia to obtain power, that felt off. Henry apparently abused Kat & “wanted” her so he killed their mom, dad and Heath’s mom. I would have wished there had been bread crumbs in the beginning to imply what Kat was going through. It felt a bit rushed/info dumping at the end. And I actually would have wanted a backstory to why Eddie all of a sudden became a husband who rapes, was it just because her heart belonged to someone else or? The epilogue was hot, I love a good primal play & JF knows how to put 🥵 in some dirty talk.


I would definetly recommend it, if you’re looking for something that’s easy to follow, has minimal plot and is on the taboo side✌🏽

If Wuthering Heights went to therapy, ignored everything it learned, and then came back hotter, darker, and somehow even more emotionally unhinged, you'd get Wainscott Hallow.
This book had me wandering around my house like a Victorian ghost muttering, "These people need help," while immediately turning the page to see what terrible decision they'd make next.
The gothic atmosphere is absolutely dripping from every page. The setting feels alive in that creepy, beautiful way that makes you want to move in and immediately regret it. There are secrets, tension, emotional damage, and enough yearning to power a small city.
The romance is not for yall looking for green flags. In fact, the flags have been burned, buried, and probably cursed. The characters are messy, obsessive, and make choices that had me yelling, "Girl, stand up!" and then five minutes later, "Actually, wait, let me see where this goes."

The Wuthering Heights retelling is impossible to ignore. The same dark, consuming love. The same emotionally catastrophic energy. The same feeling that everyone involved desperately needs fresh air and healthier coping mechanisms. And yet, I ate it up.
Mila always does an excellent job creating characters who are deeply flawed but impossible to stop thinking about. Even when I disagreed with them (and trust me, that was often)I was completely invested in their story.
Wainscott Hallow is perfect for those who enjoy dark romance, morally grey characters, and relationships that make you question your life choices while reaching for more popcorn.
Would I recommend it? Absolutely.
Would I survive being in this book? Not for a single chapter.

The forbidden romance of Wuthering Heights is one of my favorites stories of all time…. So you can imagine that me anticipating getting to listen to a @milacrawfordbooks interpretation of her own “version” of this timeless tale had my head spinning.

Wainscott Hollow takes place in Montauk on Long Island in NY. The main characters, Heath and Kat, grow up together where untimely fate makes them “adopted siblings”. Due to their horrible upbringing, they bond and eventually become lovers. I absolutely devoured this audio. Mila’s written story, her dialogue given to the intense characters, the unique plot, all of the description and detail…. Utter perfection.

The voiceacting is incredible. A true duet narration, @j.f.harding soley narrates Heath. His timing and deliverance of some breathtaking quotes by Heath had a chokehold on me. The talented @heatherfirthnarrator narrates Kat (and other various female voices) - when Heather has to display grief & sadness, it is always so moving, her inflections in her tone always on point. And my personal GOAT @jamescassidyromance as all “various male voices” - I’d personally hire him for this indefinitely if I could. Not only did he narrate like a dozen male voices (all done uniquely different too), but his delivery of two utterly horrendous villains, Henry (Kat’s brother) and Eddie (her husband) had me so uncomfortable, I had to laugh just to break the tension. He’s just…. brilliant.

Bravo to all three.

This is a MUST LISTEN! And like all Mila’s books and audios…. The trigger warnings are BLACK! 🔪🔪🖤🖤 Be prepared going into it that if you have triggers, it’ll probably be in her stories.

The blueprint is simple: two deeply broken people who would rather burn the world to ash than spend a single day apart. But let's clear up the real threat matrix in this house. Heath isn't Kat's greatest danger. Eddie and Henry are. Heath isn't the one trying to destroy her. He's the darkness waiting in the wings while she survives a house full of vipers. And this isn't a story about a woman waiting for a white knight. It's about a woman realizing that, when men like Eddie and Henry are your reality, maybe a monster of your own is exactly what you need.When touched by darkness, sometimes the best adaptation is to embrace the darkness itself. Kat doesn't simply survive what Eddie and Henry do to her. She evolves because of it. She transforms from victim to willing accomplice, recognizing that the only way to stop living in the shadows is to stand beside the one thing the shadows fear. It's messy. It's deeply uncomfortable. 🎧 Audiobook review (ALC)

🎙️ Narrators: J.F. Harding, Heather Firth & James Cassidy (duet)

Like in all Mila’s audiobooks, the narration was top tier and the narrators did an amazing job of bringing the characters and story to life.

I liked getting the backstory to Heath & Kat when they were younger and how they grew up together. In my opinion having the backstory there was good for character development and also helped me to understand the characters and where they were coming from a bit better. And I liked how the part about them as teens wasn’t rushed.

The 10 year time jump on the other hand left me with some confusion and unanswered questions, like how Eddie, who seemed like an okay person before the time jump ended up being this abusive husband with rape fantasies, or how Heath ended becoming a part of mafia. Especially the whole mafia part felt like it was just thrown in there without any real explanation.

There was a lot of information towards the end and the pacing felt a bit rushed compared to the beginning of the book. Not a bad book, but not my personal favorite. The spice was spicing, like in all Mila’s books, but the plot felt a bit messy.

Also, as this was labeled as bully romance, I personally thought the bullying would’ve happened between the love interests, instead of a side character bullying the FMC.


I received an ALC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review. Receiving ALC didn’t affect my opinion of the book.

Can we take a moment to appreciate Mila Crawford's ability to cast audiobooks? Because somehow, every single time, she manages to assemble an absolutely perfect lineup of narrators.

For Wainscott Hollow, that dream team includes Heather Firth, JF Harding, and James Cassidy—and they absolutely deliver.

From the very first chapter, this story comes out swinging. It's vicious, unsettling, obsessive, and completely unapologetic about what it is. While it's inspired by Wuthering Heights, this is not a retelling that plays it safe. In fact, I've tried multiple times to get into Wuthering Heights and never quite connected with it. Wainscott Hollow, however, had me hooked from the start. It's modern, darker, and far more accessible while still capturing that same destructive intensity.

And James Cassidy? Absolutely phenomenal.

He brought the villainous elements of this story to life so well that I found myself equally fascinated and horrified every time he spoke. His performance was magnetic, and honestly, I'd listen to him narrate just about anything.

This isn't a romance filled with grand gestures and healthy communication. It's a dark, chaotic exploration of possession, longing, trauma, and obsession wrapped inside gilded cages and impossible choices.

If you're looking for something sweet, this isn't it.

If you're looking for something dark, unhinged, emotionally devastating, and impossible to stop listening to, Wainscott Hollow absolutely delivers.

I had the pleasure of getting this as an ALC and let me tell you it did not disappoint. I swear Mila has some of th best books on audio its an experience.

This one is no different. This is childhood friends to adoptive siblings to lovers to strangers to lovers. And as always check your triggers because this has some dark themes.

Health has been in love with Katelyn for as long as he can remember. He’d do anything to see her smile and even worse things to keep her. The problem is Henry.

Anything Henry touches he breaks. People, relationships, the family fortune you name it. Henry is whats wrong with society another rich boy who won’t let anyone touch whatever he deems his. That includes his sister.

When Katelyn gets caught in the middle of doing what she wants and doing whats expected of her the choice feels impossible but her love for Heath will always win out even if that means leaving him to get him off Henry’s radar.

When Heath left Wainscott Hollow he had nothing but love to offer, but now he’s back and he’s going to make them pay for keeping her away from him.

In true Mila style Wainscott Hollow is intense.

After the passing of Kats mum, Heaths mother being hired to help with Kat and her brother. They soon became inseparable. So innocent and unaware of what their future holds.

My heart hurt for Kat and Heath they go through so much. Their childhood love turnt raw and messy so fast. Years apart, Years of Kat suffering, Years of Heath hating her but building himself up to get back to her.

Heath comes back 10 years later with a vengeance. Ready to win back his girl and destroy anything in his way.

I was angry, i was worried and scared, I was cheering for Kat and Heath to find their way back together and I was praying for cold vengeance.

I immersive read this book. Reading the ARC while listening to the ALC. My heart was in my throat through most of the book. There where moments so intense they made the hairs raise on my arms.

Heather Firth & J.F Harding Narrated this book to perfection. I could feel their emotions with every word. James Cassidy has my skin crawling at moments with the characters he narrated. I felt like I was in the moment with these characters.

The whole team that puts Milas audiobooks together need applauding, every sound affect, every flash back, the scene breaks are all put together perfectly.

ALC & ARC review

ALC - this was ATE UP by the narrators they did such a good job, while I’m a James Cassidy super fan it was nice to hear how good J F Harding & Heather Firth worked together 👏 the story is inspired by wuthering heights and in true Mila style it is dark depraved and doesn’t shy away from real life situations/ problems and the treatment of women in general. Firth really brought kat to life and at some points her narrating was so good I was stood still just soaking in the raw emotion. So thankyou for that 🥲

ARC - do I love reading the dark dirty things that come out of Milas mind? YES … yes I do. Honestly I’m so used to Mila having multiple partners in her books that this was was abit of a shock only being MF and while it kinda in the beginning had the potential to be more I feel like the MMC just went in to burn the world. Having never read wuthering heights i can’t comment on how close it follows any story line but this book might just persuade me. Mila never shys away from shedding light on real world problems in her books and honestly so many of the situations make you think and feel so please check your triggers 🫶

Mila has outdone herself with this one!!!!

I absolutely LOVED it!!! It was so gut wrenchingly beautiful I couldn’t put it down. Heath and Kat are true soulmates but they are sure put through the wringer!!! What they both had to endure was so heartbreaking 💔 Their bond proves that true love overcomes all even if you have to walk through fire for it to happen!!! The chemistry between them was so intense and it definitely made the spicy times that much more SATISFYING 🔥🥵
The sides characters are beyond evil and deserve every single comeuppance!!
I loved this book so much!! Highly highly highly recommend this phenomenal book!!!

The talent that Mila has for choosing her narrators is like no other!!! Each character was PERFECTLY played & brought to life. You can tell she put so much time into making this audiobook exactly as it was intended to be and I am still blown away by how utterly brilliant it is!!!

This book is a dark romance with dark themes it was well written. I was literally screaming like NOOOO! Whyyyy! Omg! These were some of my reactions.

Mika Crawford is a new to me author I love the writing style the story telling. It had its heartbreaking moments but it also had its tender loving moments. I’m looking forward to reading more.

I wish we got more meat of the story, like the brooding years in between that made Heath. To me the ‘bully’ was toeing the line of not quite bully romance but allllmost there 😂 I feel like they just forgave too quickly. And I wanted more, I’m greedy.

Going into this audio, I knew my expectation was high and getting the chance to listen to JF Harding and Heather Firth was amazing. Both of them bring the characters to live is absolutely amazing. It was absolutely delicious. Absolutely good. It was a gift to me. It was a different pace of how I usually go into reading Mila Crawford‘s books and that’s OK because these books that she keeps writing always captivate and bring me more and more into her books. Plus getting to hear more of James Cassidy even though he has played other male characters he always bring it and always bring out the characters emotions. I love that about him.

The characters in the story I really wanted to fight lol because that’s how I am when it comes to characters when I’m reading a book I really want to go in there and just beat them all up for what they had done to these two beautiful souls, and it was a roller coaster for me .
I definitely enjoyed this one. It was a really good read a really good listen and I am excited to see where this next part of the series goes.
