Mya’s one and only long-term relationship taught her not to trust — and she was a quick learner. Never one to make the same mistake twice, she knew that no one could hurt her behind the barriers she put up. She felt nothing and preferred it that way. Mya’s life was fine — just fine. Until Asher Dawson, the most notorious rock star in the world, came crashing into her life. One day with him and her walls came tumbling down...
But how could she take a chance on him, of all people? He was a known bad-boy and she had been burnt before. His past was littered with terrible decisions that he revealed with unrepentant honesty… But he would tell her nothing about his origins, or how he came to be in foster care along with what would later become his band mates. Dark secrets aside, Asher made her heart sing. Emotion restored and heart on the line, would her choice end in disaster for them both?
C.S. Moore grew up in a small town and always had her nose in a book. She was raised by a detective, which didn’t leave much room for normal teenage shenanigans! So she had to read about them instead. She found her love of writing while performing stand-up comedy, and humor is something readers will find in everything she writes. Ever the hopeless romantic, she met her husband — and 30 days later, they were engaged! They now have two beautiful children and live on five lovely acres.

“I want to be more for you. I want to be more than who I am or who I’ve been. I’ve mad enough mistakes in my life, and I don’t want to make one with you.”
This was a new adult contemporary romance, about a girl and a sexy rock star!
Mya had been hurt before by her awful ex-boyfriend Josh, and I felt really sorry for her because of it; he treated her like dirt, and cared only about money, which was a horrible thing to do to her. Asher had also had a difficult childhood, and I felt really sorry for everything he had had to go through as a child, and he was really lucky to have had such a supportive foster family.
“I remember it like it was yesterday – this beautiful boy with sad dark eyes immediately found his way into my heart.”
The storyline in this was mainly about the romance, and Asher and Mya made a cute couple. Mya wasn’t the sort of girl to throw herself at a guy, and she wasn’t swayed by Asher’s money or fame which was nice to see. The romance in this built slowly and believably, and this was a pretty clean story, with sex behind closed doors.
“Mya bit her lip. She wanted to kiss him so badly it hurt, but she wasn’t ready for more than a kiss, and she didn’t know if she’d be able to stop herself there.”
The ending to this was good, although it seems clear that we should hear more from this pair in the future, I have to say that I really disliked Asher’s foster brother Paul though, as he seemed to have really thrown a spanner in the works for Asher and Mya! 7 out of 10
I don't read many of bikers books or rock star based books because they were all sounding much of a muchness. BUT when I saw this one, by C S Moore and knowing I have read a previous book by this author, I agreed to it.
We have Mya, whose long term relationship with Josh ended, she is very badly hurt and bruised. Instead of jumping from one guy to another she decides to look after herself for a bit. Even the guy that tries to date her in her home building doesn't get a look in and continually gets the 'brush off' but he keeps trying nevertheless.
One night her friend urges her to dress up [she helps her] and got see this rock band. Sitting before the show along waiting on her friend she eyes Asher Dawson at a distance and tries to make herself less noticeable.
Asher Dawson is the lead in the rock band, he is well known for his past reputation.
Myra makes a refreshing change from the females he is used to, she doesn't even know of him, his past, let alone his present. He is a changed man! Although others in the band were not.
My thoughts:
I thought this a lovely angle on the rock n roll image that is so widely known and thought of. It was great to see a female who was not 'throwing her panties' on the stage, being like a groupie and seriously had respect for herself.
I salute the author, as I loved the way the entire story was handled. Myra was a lovely girl, honest, true to herself and when we got to know Asher, and the depths his life took from young to now, it endeared me to him even more. I could see why Myra would fall.
I have read and loved the other books C.S. Moore has written. When I saw this one on Amazon I didn't hesitate to buy it and couldn't wait to read it. I was not disappointed and I really enjoyed it. I loved Mya and my heart broke for her and how she was treated by her ex. Understandably she is a bit gun-shy when it comes to guys after her experiences. Enter the Rock Star. I liked how the story flowed. I like the characters and would definitely recommend this book.
The romance grows well over the story, and the conflict between Mya and her ex, as well as the conflict within the band add twists and turns to the story that keep it from being just yummy fluff.
Moore put together a spicy page turner! I love that part of the book takes place in Boise, ID. It's fun to be familiar with the setting. I need to get my hands on the follow-up novella to see what happens next.
AMAZING! I have loved all of this author's works, but this has been my favorite. Asher took my breath away more then once and the ending made me cry... Also I really want a book about Andrew, please!!!
Steamy book that had me fanning myself without blushing too deeply. I love a sexy read, but I hate when a book gets too graphic, it takes me out of the moment. This book was the prefect balance of sexy and sweet. Rock and romance.
This was my first book by this author and I absolutely loved it. The story was amazing, the characters were strong and likeable and I cannot wait to read more of this series.
The author’s writing style exactly matches the content of the story, in as much it is almost musical. Mya’s philosophy is simple, ‘Once bitten, twice shy.’ And when Asher Dawson, the bad-boy of the popular music world explodes into her life she sees no reason to change. Her life is safe, her world predictable, and Mya intends to keep it that way. With more than a little help from Asher’s chief security man and her best friends, Mya’s life turns topsy-turvy. Miss Moore shares Mya’s past with her reader’s. But they and Mya journey together to discover what shaped Ahser and how much is hidden behind his public image. Ms. Moore brings her characters sharply to life on the page. She takes her readers on an emotional roller-coaster from start to finish, and in between creates convincing backdrops both for her characters and the situations they find themselves in. The sub-story between her secondary characters is implicated more than shared, but still drew this reader in all the way, hoping things would work out for them too. This is the first book of C.S. Moore I have read, and will be adding her to my ‘author-to-look-out-for’ list. I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review.
