Wolf shifter Hunter McCall didn’t have time to form relationships and he certainly didn’t want any attachments that might distract him when he was on a mission.

His destiny changed thanks to the winter storm blowing through Chicago—and the curvy brunette that needed to be—Rescued by the Wolf.

Julie Monroe was content with her life. She’d recently been promoted, had friends to spend time with, a family she could count on and…well, that was about all she had. No family of her own, no man to hold her and tell her he loved her. At least she didn’t have three hundred cats. Yet.

Traveling to a friend’s wedding, she suddenly finds herself stranded on the side of the road in a snow-covered city.

That’s when fate decided to step in…

I was really expecting the next book to be about Logan the one who is looking for his mate because that is what was hinted in Jarod's book, but this is a pretty good surprise as well. Hunter is the youngest brother who's life is the military and he hasn't had the time or the inclination to look for his mate.

Hunter's reluctance to be with Julie as his mate was expected due to the fact that he knew he would have to leave his mate because of his deployment with military. So I was more understanding about Hunter's case than I was with Jarod. I mean Jarod wasn't in danger and he has a stable job being CEO of the company. He was just stubborn (and we never really got why he waited so long). I could see also why Hunter never found his mate because he was never in one place for too long. I do like the fact that he knew if he hadn't made the flight to Chicago to see his family that Julie may not have survived the blizzard. I did like the fact that even though Hunter was not wanting a mate he changed his mind in a few days and didn't let it go on for 6 months. Go Hunter!

I can't wait to read about Logan now especially since the epilogue mentioned a girl with Logan, but we don't have a name or anything. Also, this book hinted that the McCall father was not as close to the brothers especially Hunter because of his decisions, but Logan mentions that's not true. Hopefully we get some of this story in Logan's book.

Superb

Excellent book, if you like books about x-large Alfa male shifters this is a great read. The large, and in charge Alfa males will make you drool, and send shivers through your body. These are the men of most women's fantasies. Excellent story line, quite a bit of amazing sex. I know I enjoyed it. This was book two. I'll review book one right after I do this one. Then there is the last book three. I have to read that one. There are three brothers, and each book is about how each one finds his mate. They are all Greek Adonis of men, tall dark, muscles built like a brick house, you can find out the rest. Definitely a great book.

Got to love the curvy girls

Great little romantic story to make you look forward to a little snow storm. This one will make you smile when you pass that little road side motel.

While reading this, I could picture everything, even feel the cold of the snowy blizzard. Marie is such a good writer. I love the scenarios that she creates for each fated mate love story. In this case, where Hunter rescues Julie as she’s stranded in her car beneath a snow bank off the highway, he takes her to the first exit with lodging. He runs inside to get them a room, and is told there are a lot of rooms available but he tells her they were lucky to get just the one room with the one bed. Then, when she practically throws herself at him, he pulls away and tells her “we can’t do this.” She silently cries herself to sleep. Of course, as the reader, we understand that he is warring with himself about mating her and marking her because, first he wants to make sure she understands what they means, and second his special ops military lifestyle is not conducive to having a mate. But she doesn’t know that. I would have liked to have seen her find out that there actually were a lot more rooms available, get herself a room of her own, clear their room out of anything belonging to her, and make arrangements for transportation back to her apartment by herself so that he discovers her gone when he gets back from one of his excursions (he went out foraging places for food, and then another time shifted and went running off his sexual frustration). I would have liked for him to feel what it would be like to not have her in his life, and then see if he still has second thoughts about mating her or not. But this is why I’m not the author, because Marie wrote a perfect love story between Julie and Hunter. And I finally got my epilogue that was so satisfying.

This book is a lot better than the first one and that is just with the amount of grammatical errors. I didn't notice as many as with the last book, but there was still some.
I did enjoy reading this one a lot more, even though it was mostly sex, which is something that just annoys me if there is too much or happens too soon, unless I have actually picked a book like that too read.
I think with this book, the author seemed like she was trying to delve into the kinky and erotic genre, granted I don't actually know what genre this book actually falls under. But having the bloke punish her by smacking her arse until it's red before taking up the arse.
It is also explained what the hell that 'knot' thing was all about? why couldn't that have been explained in the first one.

Wolf rescued

Hunter McCall is on his way home through a snowstorm outside of Chicago when he comes upon a car sitting in a snow bank. When he goes to check to see if someone is stranded, in the car, he just happens upon his mate. It wasn’t something he was looking for considering he was married to the military. Julie was on her way to a girlfriends wedding when she gets caught up in a snowstorm and runs into a snow bank. What she wasn’t expecting was to be rescued by a McCall and to also happen to be his fated mate. These two manage to find a place to wait out the storm and get to know each other in a carnal way.

Hunter is heading home for the holidays when he saves Julie from the blizzard. They end up stranded together in a cheap motel. He doesn't want a mate. He is happy with his life in the military.
Fun, sexy romance. Loved it.

Really good writing. The story just keeps moving. I can not wait to finish the series. Authentic character development makes it a smooth read.

Book 2 happens at the same time as book 1 . You don't not need to read book 1 first but book 2 does give spoilers about book 1. I liked the resume story. Hunter being in the military plus a wolf has him wanting to help others. Seeing a car on the side of the road changes his course in life. The female was a little weak at times. She had no self esteem. Did not think a guy like Hunter could love her etc. She does change during the book some. There was a little drama in the book - could have been more. She could have left and he had to find her etc. But it is a short read so more plot was not needed. Lots of bedroom scenesin the book as well. A nice afternoon read

Hunter does not want a mate, when he finds his mate stranded on the highway in a blizzard he helps her and fights his wolf about her being his mate. He ends up spending time with her whilst stuck in a motel.
Good story but unfortunately he does the typical stupid male thing and talks on the phone to his brother within earshot telling his brother he does not want a mate.
Julie was a sweetie, a bit insecure due to being a big girl and just as she starts to trust and believe in Hunter she overhears him on the phone. This of course hurts her badly.
The ending in this book should have been at the end of book 3 or this book should have been the last book in the series. It was strange to have all three brothers together but not know the third mate.

A woman stranded on Chicago highway during a blizzard is rescued by a soldier who's also a wolf shifter.

This is Marie Mason's second BBW shifter romance starring the highly eligible McCall brothers. Hunter McCall is basically married to the military, which is a problem when he encounters his fated mate on a snowy highway. Julie Monroe is on her way to a friend's wedding. Her romantic history is nothing to write home about, so she's not quite ready for her attraction to Hunter.

The setting and situation are well set out with good development for a relatively short book. The lonely, frozen roads and the motel full of stranded travelers add a lot of texture and interest to the story. The characters have a great chemistry, plenty of push-pull as they battle each other and their own inner doubts.

Hunter can get a little arrogant. And man-whorish. I'm not crazy about how dismissive he is of the women he's been with or of those who show attraction to him, like the clerk at the airport rental car counter. It borders on unkindness. I know he's alpha and all that, but he still needs to be likable. He kind of plays with Julie at first. The guy's more than willing to screw her, but he's not going to "claim" her, though he knows she's his fated mate. He tells himself that he's the one who'll suffer...the mating thing has effectively put other women off limits...but that she'll be able to go on and live a normal, worry-free life without him. Her feelings about this plan of his are of no interest.

Of course this all comes back to bite him. The damage is done, heart-wise, for both of them. No going back. It's kind of fun to watch the pair of them come to terms with this. I also love the epilogue. We get a tantalizing peek at the future--and the next book in the series.

RESCUED BY THE WOLF is a fun, sexy romance with plenty of plot and character development.

Bless all the readers of this book's hearts....... I'm so sorry you had to endure it like I did.
this is a series about the brothers mccall- shifters (yeah) who mate with bbw (yeah as i'm once myself) but OMG!!!! this fell short on so many points- spelling (does writer not have spell check? or a grammar program to run the story through?) UGH!
hunter the marine shifter meets his mate when he finds her stranded in the blizzard in Chicago- would have loved some details about how it looked, felts, etc... but nope it was cold and icy winds blowing.
after rescuing said bbw whom he 'scents' as his mate NOW he must take care of her it's his duty.
I have several Laugh Out Loud moments with this book- the spanking, the anal sex (makes me wonder what the writer was thinking). not sure if it was this book or not but there is one part where 'she wraps her hand around his member and her fingers wont touch'- OH MY!!! I'm thinking so she's had some experience with loving a well endowed man but the scene just made me roll my eyes. (if a well endowed man doesn't know what he's doing he can send his partner to the er- and man is that embarrassing to explain)so maybe next time a little less of the pounding UNLESS he's short n stubby (but for this story I envisioned him being LONG I just realized the description of his member was sadly lacking)
what is up with giving shifters big packages (man I wanted to read about the purple helmeted thickly veined russell the one eyed muscle). maybe if the writer reads these reviews she will improve by giving more backstory and the his version, her version unless it's done well can make a person seasick.

no recommendation other than invest in a grammatical program that you can feed the future stories through and get suggestions on grammar and edits.
so for that I give it one point of one star.

So, Hunter is WAY different from his brothers. He's not thoughtful or sweet. Total brooder and gruff and rough around the edges. I think he's been that way for awhile. Military does that. Not that he isnt caring and loving in his own way. Just not the traditional way. He's very dominant and domineering at times. Which Julie kinda likes. Has spanking in it as punishment for her doing something stupid and scaring the crap out of him. He doesnt want a mate but cant help himself. He doesnt wanna make such a sweet woman like Julie deal with someone like him who has a bit of darkness in him due to what he does for a living. He's a career Marine. Highly decorated. Julie is really soft and has a definite innocence to her. Not a virgin innocent but fairly sensitive. Everything he says kinda hurts her feelings and she misinterprets a lot. He's definitely not perfect but having her will balance him out. She can be stubborn but cant help but obey him. I think shes a bit submissive when it comes to Hunter. He's kinkier than his bros. LOL. She takes it and actually ends up loving everything he does. This had a lot of sex in it. Not much of getting to know you type of stuff. Which I kinda missed. There really was a bit too much sex in this one. Ha at the end in the epilogue I laughed at his reaction to her little secret. His brothers kept it from him which pissed him off but he's ecstatically happy and is retiring from the Marines. So, HEA and I really liked Hunter and Julie.

2.5 stars *.....I've started , so I need to finish....

There was some improvement in this story line from the first book, plot a little better laid out, but still missing a back story to both characters. This takes place during the same snow storm as the first book..

Hunter, Alpha shifter, is a marine on leave and finds himself rescuing Julie, who was on her way to a friends wedding and gets stranded in the snow. They get holed up in a motel for a few days. After getting his knot on (it wasn't on ration!!!) they did manage to squeeze in some miscommunication, which causes a little drama. It's at this point that some internal dialogue from Hunter would've been welcomed, the only reason you know he is in a dilemma is he speaks to his brother and says he doesn't want a mate because of his military career. Julie didn't start off simpering, she needed to keep her backbone out and proud. The couple of times she tried, she was thwarted....she wasn't the kick-arse I thought she'd be.....this was very insta-love in the end.

It finishes on a HFN and the last couple of paragraphs were an epilogue of sorts and it ends on a happy.

CATIVATING & ROMANTIC:

Rescued by the Wolf-A fabulous romantic story.

This story features Julie, a curvaceous, sassy, beautiful human; Hunter is drop dead gorgeous, has women flocking to him like magnets, and his powerful alpha attitude would have the HULK bowing to him, a wolf shifter and US Marine; becomes moonstruck after meeting Julie...

“Timing is everything” a horrific Chicago blizzard alters the lives of Julie and Gage....

The stories characters are impressive and engaging, the banter is superb, vivid scene descriptions powerful, pent-up desires skyrocket, earth-shattering-heart-throbbing romance, and a heart-warming ending leaving you wanting more.

Incredible story by a gifted author-had me laughing and cheering. Julie is charming and I loved Hunter's unwavering devotion and protective nature. The conversations between Hunter and his wolf psyche is powerful-making the story that much more believable in the nature of alpha wolf attitude. The passion is well defined. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more by this author. Without reservations I highly recommend this book and the author.

This had a good storyline, interesting characters, and a lot of hot sex. There were several things that I liked about this book, and overall it was a good, quick read. There were several editing errors, that it took away from the story. This definitely needed a really good editor, as the mistakes were beyond just misspelled words or typos. I felt as if there wasn't much background on the characters, most of it was about the H's family, their business, his military career, but very little depth. There was hardly anything about their pack, but at least his wolf made an appearance, unlike book #1.

This was a good story, but it seemed to be missing so much that could've made it great. It felt as though it was mostly about his brothers, mating, sex, and very little else. I have no problem with a lot of sex included in a story, but I do want there to be a strong plot as well. These are just my opinions, and maybe I'm hoping for too much. If you're interested, I suggest that you request a sample to see if this is something that you would enjoy.

Pretty good story...but HORRIBLE TYPOS!

This book was pretty good. I liked the story in Saved by the Wolf much better, this one just didn't seem to flow as well. And I am not a woman that does well being bossed around so I know that colors my perception of this book. I also may have enjoyed this story more but the GRAMMATICAL ERRORS AND TYPOS ARE SO INCREDIBLY ANNOYING!!! I'm not sure this book was even read through again after being written. How could you leave it in the sad state it is in if you'd attempted to read through it?! The story was pretty good despite the bossy, domineering man and the woman accepting it making me cringe, at least the sex was hot. But really, do your readers the respect and courtesy of proofreading your work.

A good hot story you shouldn't miss!

Julie and Hunter have a great story, and although it moves fast, the story was tight. These two characters were fully developed and their situations were believable. I loved this story because even though it called Rescued by the Wolf, I really think she kinda rescues him too. Did I mention the hot, knotty love? I probably should because it is so wickedly hot. A bonus for me was that this is a stand alone, not a cliffhanger. Marie Mason knows how to write smooth addictive prose. You should probably read everything she writes, it's on my list of stuff to do. Buy this one for sure!

Loved this instalment in the series! Hunter and Julia had some pretty hot chemistry, even if Hunter did resist at first cause he thought she deserved better then an absentee military mate. Loved that in this book unlike the last) we get a little bit of an epilogue, letting us know how they progress and giving us a glimpse of Hunter's brothers and their mates so we know their relationships are going well still too!

Again, lots of typos (such as Navel base). This really annoys me when the errors are so simple and the story so short. They should be picked up during editing. The characters were ok -- I liked Hunter better than Jarod, but the girls in both this book and Stranded with the Wolf were a bit too "curvy and mousey" (read "plain") to be remotely likely to catch the interest of millionaire hunks. Even for a paranormal romance it was a bit too far fetched.

This book was: good, but it could have been so much better.
Would I recommend this book? Yes/no? Why/why not? No, there are so many other books to choose from that's loads better; so if I wanted to recommend something similar, but something (I think/thought is) better, than I would recommend to choose another book.

This book was scorching from the moment Hunter met Julie, and it continued to get hotter from there. I loved that while Hunter and Jarod (from the first book) were brothers, their personalities and actions are so different, it made for a great book and the characters had a depth that I liked. It was a great read for the character's, the scorching sex scenes, and the romance.

Simply Loved It!!

Rescued by the Wolf was a fantastic story. I absolutely loved Julie and Hunter's characters. Being stranded in a snow storm is a wonderful twist, especially as it coincided with Jarod and Sarah's story. I am looking forward to r www adding Logan's story!
