Ascended by Ingrid J. Adams completely swept me away. From the very first chapter, I was hooked by the immersive world-building, compelling characters, and the constant feeling that something incredible was just around the corner.
The pacing kept me invested throughout, balancing emotional moments with plenty of suspense and surprises. I loved watching the characters grow and face impossible choices, and every twist left me eager to keep turning the pages. The relationships felt authentic, adding just the right amount of heart to the story.
What stood out most was how effortlessly the author blended action, emotion, and mystery into a story that was both exciting and meaningful. By the time I reached the final pages, I wasn't ready to say goodbye.
If you're looking for a captivating read filled with adventure, unforgettable characters, and a story that keeps you thinking long after you've finished, Ascended is one I wholeheartedly recommend. I can't wait to read more from Ingrid J. Adams!

What can I say…
It’s been a wonderful journey for the whole series. This is fair warning that the books do need to be read in order, but I highly recommend starting.
The nostalgia and history that is woven through out the series but particularly Ascended makes this a special series. I loved the little tidbits along the way connecting dots that were the whole series in the making.
I know this one is daunting with the higher page numbers but take it from me, I enjoyed the whole thing. There was a purpose.
I also loved how the series was wrapped up. Not only closure for Indigo and Cordelia but every one of the characters we have come to love.
Keep this series in mind for your next summer binge session

I truly wish I could give this entire series more than 5 stars. If I could, I would give this series 100 stars. Ingrid J. Adams did such an amazing job writing this series, and it still lives rent-free in my head to this day, and I can’t wait to re-read it. Actually, I plan to listen to it rather than read it again. I will say that you do HAVE TO read/listen to this series in order, or you’re not going to understand what’s going on or what’s happened, and you're not going to know what the characters are.
The Descended Series is a MUST-READ in my opinion, and I can promise you that you won't regret picking it up. You’ll find yourself just as enthralled and engrossed in this world as I was.

Whelp. Another EMOTIONAL ROLLER COASTER read from Ingrid J Adams. Shocker.
It is really hard to write this review without spoilers because it is truly the perfect ending to this series.
So much happens. My jaw dropped MANY times. I BAWLED more than once. I giggled. My heart ached and it soared.
These characters have truly grown so much from when I first met them in Descended.

It is really hard to write this review without spoilers because it is truly the perfect ending to this series.
So much happens. My jaw dropped MANY times. I BAWLED more than once. I giggled. My heart ached and it soared.

The last book in the Descended series by Ingrid J Adams gives readers the conclusion they were hoping for. This entire series is intense and keeps you guessing throughout, but Ingrid has truly poured so much into concluding the series. A romance that transcends beyond time and space, the strands braiding amongst different timelines and lives lived. From book 1 Ingrid creates a world that pulls you in and holds your attention. With vivid world building, amazing characters throughout the series, and a love that refuses to go out, this book needs to be read by anyone who calls themselves a fantasy fan.
With a quick recap of what has happened thus far, readers are dropped right back into the action that the previous book ended in. Ingrid’s writing lures you in with spectacular world building that goes from one end of the spectrum to the other. While the world unfolds, I never knew what to expect, but every detail stood out. If only Ingrid could write the romance as well as she did the world. OH WAIT!!!! The romance in this story is one of the most beautiful, well written connections I have ever experienced in a book.
Indigo and Cordelia have gone through so much to work. Not only once, but over and over again. These two are the epitome of soulmates and everlasting love. Each book brings new challenges, yet each one is faced head one, as together as they can be, and neither one stops fighting for their love. When it seems everything is created to keep you apart, but keep fighting for that love, a good story is definitely going to unfold.
If you are looking for a new fantasy series, this is it. With a total of 4 books, you can binge read it as it is a completed series. Ingrid gives fantasy lovers everything we love in a fantasy series. Layered, complex characters; a villain who is absolutely insane; and a plot line that gets better with each book. I had never read anything by Ingrid before and now am ready for whatever she creates. This book and this series is a wild, wonderful journey that I highly recommend!

"In this and every timeless now, 'til my last breath, and beyond"
The descended series has come to an end and I am feeling all kind of ways about it. I read this story slow and savoured every last word because I truly didn't want it to end. I feel like I got to witness these characters grow up, and grow into their own over the last few years.
Ascended was everything I could have asked for in the finale of this series. Ingrid couldn't have done these characters and their stories more justice. This was an absolutely beautiful and heartfelt ending, filled with everything we've come to expect from her storytelling - action, cool magick, twists and turns, scenes that make you cry, just the right amount of heat, and a whole lot of love.
It's difficult to talk about this book without spoiling it, but I will say that I cried a total of 7 times, we got to meet some new characters (including getting a POV for Emmett), and the US government as well as some natural disasters and world events were so uniquely woven into this story. Think magick + conspiracy theories! Cordelia's POV is prominent as she struggles through her new life. I wanted to hug her so badly, but I was also so proud of her. We get to see Nash and Aurora's characters blossom - this was one of my fave parts of this book. I was in a love/hate relationship with Robbie. Reinenoire is up to her usual 'pick me' mean girl act. And I was so happy for both Raf and Scarlett in this one. I loved that the story was both in the past and present, and that we got more knowledge of Indigo + Cordelia's past lives. This story jumped all over the world - but I loved the storyline that took Cordelia and Raf to New Orleans to dig up the past.
My heart was bursting at the seams through the last chapters and epilogue. After a roller coaster of emotions, I'm so satisfied and obsessed with the finale.
I'm truly going to miss these characters so much, and the descended series will forever hold a special place in my soul.

This was everything I needed, and didn’t know I needed, for this series finale… and so much more.
First, I have to say how much I appreciate Ingrid including a recap at the beginning of each book. With such a rich cast of characters, and a variety of locations, it made diving back into this world so much easier.
This ending absolutely rocked me to my core. Every storyline, every timeline, every character arc felt intentional and beautifully woven together. You can feel the care Ingrid put into crafting this series from beginning to end.
Nash and Aurora shattered my heart more than once. My heart was broken for Robbie for the choices he made with the misinformation he was given.
Cordelia and Indigo…
That “1 year later” page absolutely broke me. I genuinely had to close the book because I couldn’t imagine how my heart, or theirs, could possibly recover. But somehow… it did. And it was worth every tear.
It took me a lot longer than usual to finish this book because life was life-ing, but in a way, that made this story even more cathartic. Ingrid has officially earned the title of highest cry count per book, and per series for me. 😂😭

I’ve said this before, but the concept of the Discarnate and twin flames is one of the most beautiful ideas I’ve ever encountered in fiction. Whether you read it spiritually, metaphorically, or simply as fantasy, it offers such a hopeful perspective on love, purpose, and why we endure darkness life offers before being able to find the light. It is a belief that has stayed with me since finishing book 1.
I honestly could keep talking about this series for hours. It has been unlike anything I’ve ever read, and each book brought something unique to the journey.

This book is long, coming in at almost 800 pages, but it never felt that way.
You must read the others in this series first. So if you haven't, turn around and start from the top.
I have read several romantasy books this year that follow the 'New Moon' disappearance of the MMC and every time, I found myself wanting to skip ahead to get to the part when they return.
That didn't happen here. This is Cordelia's story. Her story of survival, sacrifice and finding her strength amidst overwhelming grief. Everyone is rising from the ashes in this novel. Nash is still needy and horny, but in the most loveable way. Aurora steps the hell up and becomes a friend we all need. Honest, brash, and loyal.
It is difficult to write a review without spoilers, but every inch of this book threads the past with the present. The side characters bring their own sense of identity to the story and it is impossible to want to get back to the main story line, when the background is so rich.
Ingrid gives her fans exactly what they needed, a deep sense of nostalgia, an epic ending, and a resolute love too big to be contained in one lifetime.

A fabulous conclusion to the series! Ascended absolutely caprured my attention from the beginning, with the terrifying perspective of Indigo's death and Cordelia's grief.
The first part, with Cordelia's road to acceptance of Indigo's absence is heartbreaking.... And her struggle to get him back by all means is inspiring! She diggs through memories, searches through time just to find a way to reverse everything, to get to Indigo's last moments and warn him, to do something and not feel so helpless...
Cordelia finds her strenght, that is all I can say. She finds her origins,her strength and her love, across time and despite everything that stands between her and Indigo.
This four book of the series closes the circle and connects lose ends, explaining actions and connections. The world build is extraordinary and all we find out in this last novel is well explained in context.
At long last,the circle closes!

Wrapping up this series almost doesn't feel real.
We've laughed, cried, UGLY CRIED, and had our hearts broken.
Following Cordelia through book 4 feels like the perfect ending.
It's hard to write this review without spoilers, but honestly the author does such a good job of closing off all the loose ends. We don't have a hollow empty feeling when it's over. I don't wish for more from Cords/Indy. I would LOVE more from Nash. But this series has come to its rightful and complete end, with a heartfelt finale.

After reading the first three books, I was excited to read the finale. Ascended starts with Indy being dead (although we know he's not because that's not how books work!). As we learn more about Cora's heritage, we get closer to the inevitable battle of good vs bad.
I've really enjoyed getting to know the characters and seeing how they handle things. There are several great surprises that definitely made me love the ending.
Highly recommend this series!

This final book in the Descended Series contains more twists and turns that I thought was even possible. There are so many tears shed in this book, as the characters go through their stages of grief. We find out the origin of Cordelia and Idigo's love story, which brings even more sadness to this story. If you love the first three books, this book is a must read. It really brings closure to the entire series.

I really really enjoyed this series, the characters and all their different stories, how the story spanned over time, the references to the 90s and real events but with a twist to them. The last book really wrapped everything is so well. I’m gutted there’s not more but it was so well written and rounded up

Now that's a finale well done! I loved it! The first 3 books were ok for me but this fourth book blew me away. It's not easy, it's hard and dangerous and heartbreaking. Little Kaia had me howling in laughter. If you enjoy stories with soul mates and Curses, angsty coming of age, add some magic and found family, then you'll like this series. I do recommend it!

I was left completely in awe with this one. The world building was phenomenal. I loved the time lines and how they were touched with so much realism but weaves with twists. The characters were amazing. They felt so real, so relatable. I was completely invested in this one and I’m sad to see this end, but it was definitely worth the read.

An inevitable battle, betrayal at every turn and a bond so sacred that nothing can stop their pull. It was a riveting story full of emotional entanglement that add to the complexity of this plot. The characters were intriguing and their growth continously strengthened. I could not put this book down. I loved it all.

Omg I can't believe this is actually the end😭 this whole series is beautiful and it will forever be imprinted on my soul. A love story the stretches over lifetimes and will tear you apart emotionally and then put you back together again.

Cordelia goes through time and place as she hunts for Indigo. The pace of the book was perfect. Cordelia uses every means she can in her hunt making her journey realistic and plausible. I loved the world building as Cordelia and the rest of the characters go between Australia and the US on their search for how to get Indigo back. Ingrid's writing between the different eras is flawless as she writes reminiscent of the time Cordelia is. The plot twists are amazing, though I did see some of them coming. I loved how Ingrid intricately weaved some of the characters through the timelines, not just Indigo and Cordelia. I love this whole series and felt Ascended tied everything together perfectly.
