Fifteen months ago, twenty four alien ships landed on Earth without warning.

For weeks, humanity attempted to make contact, having convinced themselves that doing so was the peaceful route — but they were wrong. Because when the ships finally responded, they unleashed a nightmare that brought civilization to its knees.

For Vespera Aguilar, an ambitious artist with a stubborn personality and little patience for anyone who doubts her, the invasion meant abandoning her comfortable life in Seattle to find sanctuary in the Olympic National Park. But when she stumbles upon alien symbols and begins attempting to decode them, questions surrounding the invasion arise. Leaving her to wonder why the extra-terrestrials invaded earth in the first place.

And that’s only one part of this story.

Long before the invasion took over the sky and Vespera's need to understand the aliens arose, she found herself torn between Soren Graham, the childhood best friend she'd always found comfort in and River Ashford, the man who loved her sister first

As the past and present collide, every answer uncovers a piece of a larger mystery, forcing Vespera to confront the truth that this discovery will have the power to change everything — including her.

The instant I finished Alpha reading GENESIS back in June, I knew it was special. It's nostalgic, and for the readers who crave the high of Twilight. But, it's the fresh take on the types of relationships we can still encounter at the end of the world, that'll make you inhale it cover to cover.

Dystopia is my favorite genre to read because the switch from human to animal, is instant. It's either do or d!e. And in most cases, it's unfortunate how a genuine pure heart, can derail perfectly set plans. While this is a romance forward story, I found that the affection towards a blood relative/found family, was stunningly portrayed. As if begging us to remember that there is someone to care for, someone to still love.

I know that as adults, we have all transitioned to "why choose", but the reason love triangles are still deeply adored, is due to its consistent game of "who is the right choice?" Can you imagine how Vespera feels? From the moment River enters the chat, you as the reader, can feel his magnetic pull. When he meets our FMC by chance for a second time, there's no denying their untapped chemistry. And because life isn't fair, he picks her older sister. Soren is no stranger to how Vespera calls to him, but it's either- losing his best friend or the love of his life. And I don't know about you, but having been there before....this pulled emotions out of me that have long been buried.

The dual timeline takes place in the past and present, remarkably painting who the characters were before the aliens arrived, and why they become who they are in survival mode. Forced to grow in ways they wouldn't before, the plot slowly unravels under our noses. I have so many theories and questions, and my excitement for book 2- should be studied.

GENESIS is out on 12/7/2026. E-book and physical preorders are live!

That book just wrecked me.
Yall be ready for Genesis 12/07, book of the year.
You’ll be down bad, love the friendships, root for the underdog, may even wanna shake sense into characters at times, the plot will have your heart racing and you won’t be able to stop reading once you start. I promise you.

WOOOOOW. This book had me SAT. Going into it I was totally team River, but getting to know Soren and his dynamic with Vespera and Celeste kinda had me rooting for him. But if I’m being honest… this was the first book where the fmc actually pissed meee off so bad 😩😂😂 and I love that cause V is so fucking human!! She really took me on a ride when she would express herself, I couldn’t help but feel for her. This book was so damn good, it gave me anxiety in the best way. I would definitely say this book is one of a kind, truly. I’ve never read anything like it and I couldn’t stop reading. The relationships portrayed in this are so relatable, from the sisterhood between Celeste and Vespera, it doesn’t get more real. There were moments that felt so close to home like when V needs a favor from Celeste so to get on her good side she makes her favorite meal and cleans the whole house that’s sooo real and if you know, you know! I don’t want to say too much and give things away but you definitely will not be disappointed with this in the slightest, and there’s a favorite character for everybody.

Thanks so much to the author for the advanced ebook copy!

Ok, I’m really on one with the love triangles right now and this one sa-ti-s-fied. If you’re looking for a bit of brat as a protagonist, the gentlest social worker soft Dom, and the most frustrated hot best friend, you’re gonna want to pick this one up. Not to mention there’s the threat of an ongoing alien invasion?

I can’t pretend this is all sunshine (it’s set in Seattle for gods sake) and for a romance reader’s romance there are quite a few bittersweet moments! Genesis will knock you on your ass and have you searching for clues (much like Vespera) in no time.

One part road picture, one part sitcom with mismatched roommates, two parts desperate yearning from people already boning, and one part dire apocalypse, Genesis is a lot of fun in a little package. I did read a fairly early copy so there’s a chance I missed some things… like… some of the sex scenes… but I’d be delighted to read again when the book’s out just to make sure I got it all.

4.5 from me, such a fun read!
