Which leads me to believe it is not a novella about the main characters

Threshing Day already has me excited, especially knowing we’re getting 13 stories from the Empyrean universe. I can’t wait to return to this world and see what Rebecca Yarros has in store for us.

Being back in my favourite world made my heart so happy and made me so emotional. I love them all so much and seeing one of the most important days in their life from their perspective was truly a gift!!

Some of them were hilarious, some gave me certain insight and some made me ugly cry.. We got to see how deep some connections go, some yearning and insecurities that broke my heart, bonds that matter more than anything, grief that consumes and we had some fun too. Also, I don't care what anyone says about Dain and a certain someone, I see it and I support it!!
I'm not going to dwell deeper as to not spoil anything, but just know that I loved all of the stories and the only thing we truly know is that we know nothing about the dragons...

Overall, this was such a great addition, I really enjoyed it!! I will honestly eat up anything that brings me my baby Xaden back, I love that man to pieces!! His villain era will be iconic!!

Thresing Day was 4 stars for me—and honestly, all thanks to Ridoc and Imogen. Okay, Garrick too! And yeah, yeah, I love Xaden and I’m completely biased, so obviously Xaden gets some credit too! 😂

Some of the POVs went pretty straight into bonding with their dragons, and I LOVED getting to experience all of these different perspectives.

Brennan was SO cute. I would honestly love to be inside his mind more! And his dragon, Marbh, is awesome.

“There is no longer an ‘I,’ there is only us.”

AHHHHHHH 😭

Mira being the middle child!! And there is SO much more to her than just that.

“Your brother is your mother’s son and your sister is your father’s daughter, so whom do you belong?”

OH GOD. 😭

Honestly, whatever I thought about the individual POVs, the lines were SO GOOD. Every POV had something that made me stop and stare at the page.

And then… XADEN. 🫠

Xaden is SO HOT. And Sgaeyl absolutely ATE when she burned Alic. Like… HUH?! 😂

“You need not question me. I see your soul, every hunted memory, every vile thought, every malevolent desire for revenge. I am cognizant of your downfall, and yet I see the potential of everything you can become. I see it all.”

My obsession with Xaden is honestly unhealthy at this point. If he breathes, I’m listening. If his POV says A–Z, I’m reading every single letter. 😂

Garrick’s POV felt like such a little Easter egg, and I loved it. And Chradh is SO grumpy.

“You are testing my patience.”

And then:

“I know, yet another reason I have finally chosen to be with your kind again.”

I love a grumpy dragon. 😂

Dain’s POV had me resisting the urge to roll my eyes because he was thinking about being with Violet again, BUT I’ll admit his POV was actually really interesting. And General Aetos? Annoying AF.

Cath asking:

“What truly owns your allegiance?”

Cath, PLEASE. We need to know too!! 👀

Bodhi is definitely obsessed with Xaden. His brain must literally be Xaden, Xaden, Xaden, Xaden 24/7. 😂

And Curi saying:

“See that you do. My choices are not tied to yours.”

I’m sure, Curi. You just got stuck with Bodhi. 😂

IMOGEN!!! I loved her POV so much. I already love Garrick and Imogen together, and getting more of their bond made me LOVE them even more.

“Say the word and I won’t so much as look at another woman.”

GARRICK!!! 😭😭😭😭

And Glane saying:

“You’re mine.”

She is PERFECT. 😭

Rhiannon and Feirge were okay-ish for me.

I’m also not gonna lie, I wasn’t a huge fan of Sawyer’s POV with Sliseag.

But RIDOC. 😭

I could listen to Ridoc yap FOREVER. I love how he takes everything unseriously while somehow still taking everything seriously. He is just RIDOC, and I love him. And did I mention I LOVE RIDOC?!

And Aotrom is officially one of my favourite dragons. 😭 I LOVE how Aotrom constantly riles Ridoc up. They are such a chaotic duo.

“Catch me if you can.”

Ridoc:

“What are you, a damn cat?”

I’M CRYING. 😂

Honestly, this whole section was SO GOOD, and Ridoc deserves all the credit. And did I mention I love Ridoc? Because I do.

Then we get to Liam and… Deigh. 😭

“Are you ready to be a rider, Liam Marie?”

HOW?! HOW CAN THEY BOTH BE DEAD?! 😭😭

Sloane was another one I really liked. I love that Dain breaks the Codex for her and then reports it himself. Like okay, Dain, we see you. 😂

And Thoirt:

“You don’t want to wield now. I will give you what you deeply need: choice. Only when you’re ready will I channel to you.”

And then:

“And if I choose never to?”

“Then we will be excellent companions.”

😭😭😭

And finally… Aaric.

Molvic:

“I am not my brother.”

Aaric:

“This is why I still allow you to breathe.”

EXCUSE ME??? 😭

And then no one in his family even knows he’s missing yet, but he’s coming for them all?!

WOW. AARIC. JUST WOW.


Also, I swear I have a theory that all the dragons have their own secret group chat 😂 because HOW ELSE does this make sense?!

It was so obvious that they were looking for specific people to bond with, like they already knew exactly who they wanted. They were probably in the dragon group chat like:

“Okay, who’s bonding with Ridoc?”
“Aotrom.”
“Obviously.” 😂

They KNOW their riders before the riders even have a clue what’s happening. And the way some of the dragons seem to understand their riders so deeply makes me think there is definitely some dragon-to-dragon communication happening behind the scenes that we’re not being shown.

Like, imagine the dragons having their own little meetings and deciding:

“You take her.”
“I already chose him.”
“Absolutely not, he’s mine.”
“Fine. I’ll take the chaotic one.” 😂

Honestly, I NEED a chapter from the dragons’ perspective because I refuse to believe they aren’t gossiping about their riders 24/7. 😭🐉

Overall, Thresing Day was such a fun little collection of POVs. Some worked better for me than others, but the dragon bonds, the character insights, and especially all the little dialogue moments made it worth it.

Now PLEASE give us Book 4, Rebecca Yarros. And PLEASE, PLEASE give us multiple POVs because WE DESERVE THEM. 😭🐉
