This book surpassed all of my expectation love Aubery Darks Books.

His Ransom is the continuation of His Gift, a 3 part serial that Aubrey released 3 months ago. This is a review of His Ransom, parts 4-6.
Street artist and tomboy Lacey, entered a very different world the day she met the wealthy playboy Jake Carville. His world is full of beautiful women, old secrets and old hurt. Orphaned at a young age, Jake has never found a woman he can open up to. Not until Lacey. She’s the only woman he cares about. His gift. His love.
… and that’s why she’s the perfect hostage.
Unbeknownst to the both of them, shocking family secrets are about to be revealed, and because of her involvement with Jake, Lacey plays a pivotal role in the events that take place in in the most romantic city on Earth: Paris.
Looking back at the review I wrote for His Gift, I couldn't help but smile. I may have mentioned that His Gift wasn't as dark as Aubrey's two full length novels - and that much is still true. However, those who have read Mine, will recognize the name Rien as the surgeon who is a cold blooded, government sanctioned killer & who enjoys carving up is hapless victims. Luckily, Lacey never learns the full extent of what this man is capable of when their paths cross...
As it turns out, Rien has a debt to pay, and the man he owes his debt, is someone from Jake's past. Personally, I never saw that one coming. I am sure that those of you who have read Mine have wondered how these killers are recruited, and here we get our first glimpse of who these men are and what kind of backgrounds they have. It explains why they are invisible, untraceable. It was an enjoyable little twist.
You'll be glad to know that the romantic setting isn't wasted on our young couple, either... You'll have to read the installments to understand what I mean.
All in all I give His Ransom 4-6: 3.75 stars.

I'll review the series, because each book has like 60 pages and....
So, thank GOD for Kindle Unlimited, because i don't think i would have paid money for this series.
As i have said before, i don't really like short novels. They all seem rushed. This one included. BUT, this one has something new: a billionaire, but like to dress up in hoodies and paint graffitis through NY or Paris. Seriously?
Anyways, something in all this smells a lot like FSOG. Alpha male handsome billionaire, who likes kinky stuff (BDSM, of course), sad childhood, meets young virgin whom he starts to fall in love with and .
I must admit, it was intriguing and i didn't dislike it. There was just sex, so it was ok.

Ahh, the dreaded DTF. Lacey might not know what they are, but at least she's going to enjoy the ride...or should I say plane ride! Jake whisks Lacey off to a dream location to conduct business and while there, Lacey has to fight her own bouts of jealousy. Because who is she to have the attention of the wealthy, enigmatic, artistic, handsome Jake Carville?
But what happens when she catches the eye of someone else? Someone equally mysterious, handsome, artistic and seemingly wealthy? Little does she know that this stranger, who seems interested in her art, has some deep secrets, too....
Short, sweet and spicy as usual. I enjoyed the added drama with Jake being gone and this new guy. I almost wanted him to make Jake jealous. Lol!! I loved how Lacey stood her grond and didn't swoon at his feet, even though there were times where it seemed she would. I wish she would have spoken up more. Yes, Jake came on business, but he was also neglecting her. I wanted her to just grab him and kiss him sometimes to let him know she was still there, but I guess it was all for the story, so I can't knock Aubrey's process :)
Can't wait to read Book 5!

This is Part 4 of a Dark Billionaire Romance and Lacey still has some trust issues and Jake is set on making her trust him.
Lacey is thinking that Jake is going to be surrounded by beautiful women in Paris. Little does she know what Jake has in store for her. She is about to face a lot of the fears she's had all her life and the one she has now.
Jake just can't seem to make Lacey realize that she is all to him, so he decides to take her with him to Paris since she is having issues with him going on this business trip. He is going to show her that he has eyes only for her, his BBW.
This story is getting better and better.
I was gifted this book by the author for an honest review.

This was a great series. Quick, fast paced story. Easily pulled into and engrossed in the roller coaster ride this story puts you on. Fun and emotional with romance and sexual tension, everything you need. Will be looking into this author.

Jake and Lacey paint a medium burn romance work of art. Beware ladies more things than street art get painted in vivid color is this story.

Box set starts with Shannon Jacoby is a mystery shopper and has to evaluate where ever she is shopping at the time it is a coffee shop this morning she is evaluating her coffee and roll she is looking tacky because she was not planning to be there but someone couldn't work the job this morning and she had to get up and make it to 10 different coffee shops this morning as well as evaluating the restrooms she is on her last one and she sees this handsome sexy guy come in and speak to the guy behind the counter and get his coffee and walk past her she notices everything about him but of course he doesn't notice her she doesn't think that he would because she is a firm size 16 on a good day she day dreams until he's out the door she watches the mens room and then she knocks on the door goes in and starts her eval with the app on her cell phone she is still day dreaming and then just as she is almost through she is almost done someone is coming in the door she goeses the stall door and sits on the stool while waiting she makes a sudden unexpected move and drops her phone into the nasty toliet she almost falls off the stool but the person who came in steps into the stall and grabs her before she falls but she does scoop up her phone and has toliet water up her arm and on her pants now the person who helps her happens to be the man who just bought a cup of coffee and she was drooling over this is the beginning of the relationship between Shannon and Declan McCormick son of one of Boston's resident Billionaires with all the ups and downs and her crazy outlandish mother her wacky friends and a boss who seems to be able to get her to do some of the craziest things along with her dangerous half human cat. This is a exceptional box set and worth the cost. Very enjoyable.

Lackey has such a bad image of her body. I get the insecurity but when super sexy Jake is constantly worshipping her body, she should at least start to believe in her beauty to him.
He's leaving for Paris on business. He'll be around models & her insecurity is growing by leaps & bounds. He's giving her the most erotic experiences & pushing her limits. Again worshipping her! She knows he's in control in the bedroom but it seems to her that he wants to control her art as well. She wants to be able to handle her an art sales. It will help her to feel equal to him. She's having second thoughts about staying in NYC due to her insecurities. She loves Jake. He only tells her " you're MINE".

I throughly enjoyed the first three books in this series, His Gift, so I was very excited to read this continuation of Jake and Lacey’s romance. I was not disappointed by the direction this story is headed. This book shows how Lacey is struggling with her art and insecurities about her relationship with Jake. Jake works hard to put Lacey at ease and help her face her fears. True to form, Ms. Dark treats us to some hot and steamy scenes and leaves us wanting more with a cliffhanger ending to Part 5 in the series!

The angst and drama of Jake's past still seems to be as fresh at 30 years old as if it just happened, instead of when he was 4... No matter how traumatizing, that many years would dull and numb any memories and pain. To carry around the severe amount of angst he currently is would be exhausting, and far too taxing on any human body to sustain.
Not much really happens in this book. A lot of it is Lacey's internal struggles with self doubt and artistic insecurities.
I'm not sure why this series is labeled a dark read, because there isn't really anything at all that has been dark so far.
At book 4 in this series, I'm still waiting to see where it's going.

Excited that Lacey and Jake's story is continuing. Lacey is in a rut with her artwork. She has worked so hard to be independent but now feels like Jake is giving her too much and she doesn't give him anything in return. As she copes with her insecurities, Jake continues to sweep her off the feet with intensely passionate and challenging sexual encounters. Their chemistry is electric and we get another amazing encounter involving a canvas and paint … oh the master pieces they create with their passion! I love how this ends with Jake sweeping Lacey into another incredible surprise.

This was pretty good. I completely got why Lacey felt inferior but she needs to stop comparing herself to Jake. He's a friggin billionaire. A successful business man. And he's 10 years older than her. That's 10 years more life experience. She should just be grateful he's willing to guide her art career and stop bitching at him before he decides to guide someone else.

who can't love Jake?
Jake is so sweet, Lacy has many insecurities that at first bothered me but I think most girls could relate... I so far have really enjoyed their story and I am looking forward to their next instalment.
