— SUMMARY
Alden’s company has developed an app to help omegas in heat find an alpha. Elliott is a journalist writing about the app. When Elliott, an omega, matches with Alden, an alpha, the two begin chatting and enjoying each other online. Alden seems like the perfect alpha, even drawing up a “heat plan” to make Elliott’s heat more comfortable.
Tyler is a researcher trying to find ways to help omegas gain control over their bodies. He is also an alpha and Alden’s best friend and roommate. Tyler considers himself demisexual, as he has only ever had urges toward Alden, and only during his ruts… at least that’s what he tells himself. Alden, however, has been in love with Tyler forever… but when Tyler’s ruts end, he denies further attraction to Alden. Two alphas together… that’s just not supposed to happen.
When Elliott is supposed to meet Alden for his upcoming heat, the heat starts early and Elliott finds himself lost nearby where he is supposed to meet Alden. But instead of Alden, he runs into Tyler who ends up helping him through the first pangs of his heat.
— REVIEW
This is my second omegaverse book, and though I’m still getting used to the animalistic mating, I’m really into it… and when one of my favourite authors, Thea Verdone, steps up to the plate under a new pen name to join in the Heat Seekers universe, I had high hopes and I was not let down.
The connection between all three of the characters was intense… as was the tension due to unspoken emotions. Both Tyler and Alden are sweet and caring alphas who want the very best for each other and for Elliott, who is spoiled in the very best way. Tyler goes THROUGH IT in this story, and the complex relationship between him and his best friend becomes a focal point for the second arc of the book.
What I love about Thea’s writing is that she makes everything seem so real. Her characters have distinct personalities that even in a short novel come out beautifully. Alden’s kindness, Tyler’s passion, and Elliott’s humour all intermingle to create a glorious MMM romance. Thea usually makes me cry, and this was no exception, but I cried WAY less at this version of her writing… and I laughed a lot. This book left me with a big smile on my face at the end.
If you enjoy contemporary omegaverse, this book is right for you!
