Alexis is back and she's going hard for what she wants. She's determined to get her life back and isn't taking no for an answer. With not a care in the world, Alexis plans to live her life her way, and no one can stop her. But it's not as easy as she wants and with Alexis, trouble just seems to be drawn to her like a magnet.
With nothing but murders and betrayal at every turn, Alexis is going to use every trick in the book to get out. Secrets are revealed, and Alexis doesn't know who to trust. What she does know, is that she's not going down without a fight; and for her to win, she has to play dirty.
i usually find urban fiction a bit much, but this author has talen the genere and made a classic. she tells the story with a great pace you never want to stop teading till the end. i cannot wait to read part three.
EXCELLENT... just as good as "It Ain't Trickin If You Got It Part 1." This book will have you on the edge of your seat. It's grown. It's sexy. It's reckless. It's traumatic. It's a whirlwind. Once you pick up the book, you won't be able to put it down. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It was an emotional roller coaster for sure. And the ending? Chiiiiiiiiiile. I'm glad I have Part 3 and Part 4 in my possession. I can't wait to dig in, because Part 2's ending was wild as hell. Off the charts wild. I DAMN NEAR THREW THE BOOK ACROSS THE ROOM when I finished the book.
This book may really resonate with you if you went to North Carolina A&T State University or Bennett College in Greensboro, NC, as the story takes place at A&T. HBCU students in general will love this book because it's so relatable. If you're a prude, please steer clear. This book DEFINITELY has adult themes.
The storyline bananas the characters well-defined clearly crazy I love Alexis no matter what she goes through God steps in and see what a great way to tell a story homeboy is crazy straight up strung out crazy manipulative abusive and downright evil person they got him behind bars now but let's see how long he stays well-written the drama field action pack all that out freaking standing
This was a great book can't wait to read the next book in this series. Man I tell Alexis went through some stuff in this book just when you thought things were looking up for her something else happened to her. This was a page turner!!!
I'm not sure how I feel about part 2 of this series. The summary lead me to believe that Alexis' actions would now play into the title. Being a bit selfish "using what she's got to get what she wants" aka trickin'. (or was her brief dalliance with Malik the trickin'????) hmmmm I guess I like for the title, summary and actual story to connect, but I am sure there was some sense in the madness for the author. And I thought okay all that happened in part 1 would harden her heart and she would come out as a bit of a bad ass- less victim. Alexis still has not realized/accepted/acknowledged any responsibility for her actions in all that occurred. The stand out in this book was Ariane. i was thinking Alexis who? I was more interested in how Ariane went from a 16 year old baby mama to having the money to pay for Shawn's legal fees AND keep his commissary "stacked" and then to killer. What was her thinking behind killing Colin? Did she want to blame Shawn all along or had she set out to frame Alexis thus getting her out of the picture by sending her to jail-that was her ultimate goal right? Atleast it was before she finally wised up to the real Shawn. The only thing that made sense was Shawn killing Tamika out of revenge. And Ariane setting up Shawn once he betrayed her. Again not sure how I feel about the story, but i applaud the author for putting her craft out there for everyone to experience.
Poor Alexis couldn't catch a break. No matter how many steps she tried taking forward something always got in the way and changed the course of things. Ariane proved to really be dumb. She should've listened when her family warned her about Jayshawn, but she had to learn on her own. Jayshawn was still doing too much. His obsession was crazy and his behavior to get what he wanted wasn't any better. I felt bad for Collin because sometimes being nice and helpful can be a persons downfall if they're not careful. Tamika and Alexis were very stubborn but I was glad they could get things right. There were so many times I wish someone would knock some sense into Alexis. No matter how much a situation didn't seem right, she still managed to be caught up in some mess. Smh at Malik. That wife is crazy. I know it's always said it's not tricking if you got it, but sometimes one fails to realize the consequences. Now I'm ready for part 3. Will Ariane's role be revealed, what more does Jayshawn have up his sleeves, who's about to catch themselves in the altercation based on the ending, Alexis ever be able to live a normal life after everything that's happened to her, and how much more Alexis have to endure because of her ways?!
Alexis can remember when Ariane was over to Jayshawn's house but how can she not remember that was the same girl with Colin? Killing Colin was stupid. How can that little girl do all of that..... Hopefully Alexis can finally get herself together and get the life she deserves
Following up from part 1 I felt that this book fell short for me. The various issues were to dragged out. I don't think I'll be reading part 3. I'm still a fan but this series had extremely to much going on.
