Years ago, Rolling Stone magazine dubbed the nine collective children of the most famous band in the world “Rock Royalty.” Now all grown up, the princes and princesses are coming back to L.A.’s Laurel Canyon to discover if love can be found among the ruins of a childhood steeped in sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll.

Some people say Payne Colson has a death wish. He likes all things fast, hot, and dangerous. His life was on a rocket-like trajectory until he crashed, bringing into his life a woman from the past that he’d done all he could to protect…from himself. But she’s more temptation now and Payne isn’t sure he has the strength to turn away from her a second time.

Rose Dailey had a teenage crush on Payne, and he’s only sexier now. She’s been walking the straight-and-narrow since that one play she made for him, but now she’s ready for a visit to the wild side… And maybe ready for Payne as well.

Touch Me (Rock Royalty Book 4) What is not to love about a feisty heroine and a completely befuddled hero! The adrenaline junkie ladies’ man Payne Colson does not know what to do with his sweet little assistant hired by his brother to help him as he completes his recovery after a terrible crash. Watching Payne scramble to 'get a grip’ when Rose his high school girlfriends' little sister enters the picture is priceless and endearing. Rose does not back down from her teenage crush and meets him and his emotional challenges head on. A heartwarming, at times laugh out loud, steamy romance that will have you cheering them on!

Nice story. The hero is recovering from a bad car wreck while racing on a track somewhere. He's not following his doctor's orders so his siblings hire the heroine to run herd on him. They knew each other back in high school, when he dated her big sister, and she had a major crush on him, with an unfortunate encounter one night. So that's still echoing around. It's a good story. I liked it.

We know from Break on Through that Payne and Rose have history. I want to know what happened between them instead of these constant hints. I am well into chapter two and the innuendo is killing me. Hints are dropped in subsequent chapters and it is getting annoying. Just tell me what happened when Rose was fifteen.

“Cotton candy-colored pumps?” What color cotton candy? When I was a child cotton candy was either pink or blue. If an author is going to describe a color, please be specific. A good editor should have caught this.

As a knitter, I know for a fact that when someone holds a hank of yarn so someone else can wind that hank into a ball, the hank is never looped over wrists. It rests on the hands which are perpendicular to the floor so that the person holding the yarn can lower or raise one hand or the other to assist the person who winds. Any of us who work with yarn are certain to be annoyed that Ridgway got these detail wrong.

In chapter six now and I have to confess, I’m bored. Ridgway has a formula she repeats in each book of the series. The first half is the sexual tension between Our Heroine and Our Hero while the second half is conflict of some sort. While I finally know what happened between Rose and Payne when she was fifteen, I no longer care. It was dragged out too long before the big reveal. Now there is a new item that is probably going to be dragged out for too long: Payne doesn’t kiss on the mouth.

The will they/won’t they go to bed together drama is overdone. We know, of course, that they will because it’s a romance novel. And we know they will fall in love, Payne’s issues will be revealed and relieved by her Magic Hoo Hah and her sweet kisses and they will end up engaged. However, I feel that story getting us to that point ought to be interesting and I am just plain bored. I wouldn’t finish it except I am under the obligation of an honest review in exchange for the free copy of the book.

These people are doing much of anything except fantasising about each other and I am tired of that. They seem to be investing very little energy into actually getting to know each other.

One detail that keeps bugging me is this. When and how did Payne learn so much about cars? Sounds like growing up in the Velvet Lemons compound it was pool parties and inappropriate behaviour for teenaged boys. He didn’t learn about cars in high school or college, which he dropped out of.

Related to this detail is the question of how and when did Payne learn to run a business, let alone be so successful at it?

We know from Light My Fire and Love Her Madly that Bing and Brody were busy building various treehouses all over the compound when they were kids so clearly that is how they became involved in construction. But how did Payne acquire his skills? It’s really bugging me. Then about two chapters after I wrote that, I read that Payne had always been fascinated with cars, driving one of his father’s car at the age of ten.

Really? Mutual seduction in that disgustingly dreadful office? Seriously? Oh just yuck. Fortunately, they were interrupted.

I don’t think much of Payne’s vaunted lovemaking skills. Never really felt it.

Turns out the only conflict in this story is Payne’s sense of self and how that changes. Oh sure, there is a sorta bad guy.

I dutifully read it. Meh.

MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE OF THE SERIES!!

(I did receive a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review)
Payne Colson is an adrenaline junkie going 100+ miles an hour in everything he does, whether it’s racing cars or bedding women, not exactly the poster boy for commitment. Growing up at the compound of the rock band Velvet Lemons, Payne did not exactly get the life lessons normal children receive from their parents, so his current lifestyle could be surmised as a result of his upbringing. If Payne was a lazy, self-centered jerk, this might be true, but he is really anything but. (& ok, I love Payne, so I’m biased here, lol). What he is, is a self-made business owner whose daredevil stunts are an attempt to outrun his past. Unlike most of the kids of the Velvet Lemons, he’s stayed in touch with his youngest sister and his mother (who enjoys the guilt trips she’s continually laid on her son for his father’s lack of fidelity).
Rose Dailey has had a crush on Payne since he first dated her older sister in high school. Although he never looked at her as more than a little girl, she never forgot the way he made her feel nor the embarrassing pass she made on him when he’d broken up with her sister. Payne’s days of running may be coming to an end. After a bad racing accident leaves him house bound, his ‘family’ takes it upon them to hire Rose as his Personal Assistant. Is this book hot?? (Hint: Rose shows up to her first full day of work in a French Maid costume). Things don’t move super-fast, but this is definitely the hottest in the series so far.
You’ll get to see more glimpses of the rest of the Lemon clan, too, and I don’t know when Payne’s sister, Cami’s, book is coming, but I cannot wait! These books can definitely be read as stand alone, but you’ll want to read them all after reading this one!

Rolling Stone magazine once dubbed the nine collective children of the most famous band in the world “Rock Royalty,” years ago. All the princes and princesses are coming back to L.A.’s Laurel Canyon now that they are all grown up. They are also trying to discover if love can be found among the ruins of their childhoods that was steeped in sex, drugs, and rock ‘n roll.

There are those that believe Payne Colson has a death wish. He likes all things hot, fast and dangerous. Until he crashed his life was on a rocket-like trajectory. Now the one woman from his past he has done everything to protect from himself is back in his life. Payne isn’t sure he has what it takes to turn away from her a second time especially as she is more tempting now than she has ever been before. When Rose Daily was a teen she had a crush on Payne and he is even sexier now as an adult. Once she made play for him and ever since then she has been walking the straight and narrow. Now Rose is ready to visit the wild side and just maybe Payne is ready too.

This story is engrossing and shows the reader more of the past of the Rock Royalty. Seeing Payne work to get past his past issues makes for a fascinating read. It also proves to be a hard story to put down. Rose and Payne end up bringing out the best in each other and watching them get to their happy ever after proves to be one very wild ride that is both emotional and fun to read. This is shaping up to be a very good series and while each book can be read as a standalone they prove to be much better if read in order plus it also gives a fuller back story to the Rock Royalty than the reader would receive reading the books out of order.

What happens when you are an adrenalin junkie and that comes to a halt because of an injury? Ms. Ridgeway gives us the answer in Touch Me the forth story in her Rock Royalty series. We are about to be introduced to Payne and Rose as they get to know each other and heat up the pages. Ren who we met in the first book Light My Fire is Payne’s brother. These were two of the children whose fathers were members of the Velvet Lemons.
Ren had to find an assistant for Payne because Payne was injured while driving his racecar. He is also the owner of several junkyards. Payne liked living the fast life but at some point he needs to slow down and this injury is the time to make him slow down. Into his life comes Rose hired by as I said his brother Ren.
Rose an accountant by trade is looking for something more fulfilling to do with her life. Helping Payne is just what she needs. After all she used to have a crush on him when her older sister dated him in High School. Payne it seems was crushing on Rose all those years ago but he always felt she was too good for him. Now Rose is ready to show Payne that she has a wild side and he is all she wants.
I once again found this a very engaging story not only as we learn more of Rocks Royalty but also the way Ms. Ridgeway seems to find the perfect match for each of the boys. Each of the stories is good on their own but together they weave a strong storyline and characters that become family.
I found this to be another entertaining story as I watched Payne face his demons realizing he can do relationships and Rose as she finds out that being a little wild can spice up your life.
Settle in for another enjoyable read from Ms. Ridgeways Rock Royalty series.
Now I am off to read Wishful, Sinful….

This one if book 4 in the author's Rock Royalty series. This one is about Payne (one of the Velvet Lemons offspring) and Rose. When the story opens Payne, who is an adrenaline junkie, is recovering from serious injuries received while driving a race car. Recuperation has been slow and he's restless, frustrated, and bored because he's been pretty much housebound. Doctor's orders don't allow him to drive yet, a stipulation he would've ignored if his brother hadn't hidden all of his car keys. His family hires Rose Daley to be his personal assistant, taking care of chores he can't manage yet and being his chauffeur. Rose recently resettled in L.A. after living in Seattle for several years, where she moved with her dad after her parents' divorce. Payne briefly dated her older sister Lily when they were all in high school. He was always kind to and protective of Rose, and she had a crush on him. That crush led to an embarrassing situation in the past which has haunted both of them (for different reasons), although they hadn't seen each other for years. When Rose re-enters Payne's life, they both find themselves struggling against a residual attraction and intense chemistry. Like all the Velvet Lemons kids, Payne feels damaged and incapable of being part of a lasting relationship due to the legacy of his upbringing. Rose has her own issues and demons. But they do eventually find their way to each other, and the HEA (Happily Ever After) brings a sense of satisfaction. Looking forward to the next installment in the series!

Touch Me by Christie Ridgway continues the saga of the Rock Royalty Set. If one is expecting one of the rock musician lover boy type books that seem to be so popular now in 2016, then there will be disappointment. However, if one is interested in an interesting story about how the children of said rockers who lived larger than life and were more than a bit narcissi then this series is a treat. Now all seven children are grown, dealing with the fall-out of their childhood in the different ways. All have trust issues but have become productive individuals.

I think Payne has chosen the most unique careers of the seven. Starting out in the limelight as a racecar driver is not unusual but being an entrepreneur of junkyards is. I like how none of them fit any particular stereotype. Enter accountant Rose Dailey. They have somewhat of a history having known each other in high school. She has her own issues from childhood too. What follows is an intriguing romance where both must past their past and their fears. You can’t help but want them to be as successful in loving each other.

This is the story of Payne Colson and Rose Dailey. I was really looking forward to reading this book and I was not disappointed.
Payne runs several successful junkyards, having just bought a new one. He is an adrenaline junkie, who was injured while driving a racecar. He is still recovering, so he needs someone to help him, enter Rose.
Rose Dailey is an accountant who is trying to find her purpose in life. She is trying on all kinds of hats, trying to find something that fits. This is how she ends up being hired by Ren, his brother, to be Payne's personal assistant.
Payne and Rose have known each other since high school. He dated her sister, was kind to her and protected her and Rose's young heart fell in love with Payne. She still has some residual feelings for him. Payne has a firm philosophy with women, he never gets close. Rose forces him to look past his hang-ups, which does not make him thankful.
This is book number 4 in the Rock Royalty series and they keep getting better. Can't wait for the next one!

Great story! I really wanted to know what happened between Payne and Rose and what the tension was so was very excited that this was the next story. I was drawn in from the beginning and love how Rose refuses to give in to Payne and his jerk tendencies. He is doing it to try and scare her away from him because he doesn't want to give in to temptation and doesn't think he deserves her.
This story flows very well through the story line and keeps your attention. Yes it has similar themes but no it's not just like the others in this series. It is a different story line and something that will keep your attention. I was drawn to the characters and the 9 Rock Royalty and want to read all of their stories. The stories are different because their personalities are different. They are complex characters all the way around. I love how we get to see all of the Rock Royalty group and not just the one that the story currently follows. I can't wait to read the rest of them.

2nd Chance Romance with a Twist
Touch Me is the fourth novel in the Rock Royalty series, which focuses on the 9 kids of the band, the Velvet Lemons. This book is about Payne, a salvage yard owner and race car driver, and Rose, the younger sister of Payne’s high school girlfriend. Rose is hired by Ren (Payne’s brother) to help Payne convalesce after a race car crash. Payne and Rose were friends in high school and Rose always had a crush on him. Rose quickly becomes a constant in Payne’s life with some help from the rest of the Rock Royalty. Payne fights his attraction whenever Rose is present. This wasn’t a typical 2nd chance romance, but I enjoyed it all the same.
Honey and Walsh’s book will be explosive if their interactions in this book are any indication.

Touch Me by Christie Ridgway is another romance in the Rock Royalty series and an excellent addition. Payne Colson is sexy and dangerous. He lives life on the edge and never gets attached to any of his lovers. Rose Daily had a teenage crush on Payne and has never gotten over him. Now, they are forced together while he recovers from yet another of his dangerous hobbies.
Payne's and Rose's attraction is both sexy and heartbreaking. Both have strong attraction to one another and the fear of heart break. You will find their story compelling and moving.
Touch Me is a wonderful addition to the Rock Royalty series. Christie Ridgway never disappoints. I just love her writing which is always moving with wonderful complex characters. I can't get enough of her and the Rock Royalty series. The whole series is a must read!!!!

description

Touch Me is Payne Colson’s story. We’ve heard Ren’s and saw his happily ever after with his now fiancé, Cilla, and now it’s time for this brooding man.

Payne acts as though he’s invincible. The man faces things at full speed – literally, he races whenever he can, and it lands him in the hospital. After many broken bones and a lot of internal bleeding, he has been instructed not to drive and to take it easy. This means no long hours at the scrap yard and no racing, or driving in general. The Lemon kids, while willing to rotate responsibilities in taking care of one of their own, decide that having a constant “nanny” there would be best....

Payne, is a golden god, I'm not usually that fond of the blonde heros, but this guy....just plain HOT. As per the other Rock Royalty books, he has some issues, he grew up where the sex and the drugs were free and easy and he thinks he doesn't deserve love. This book is a little different because his mother was a presence in his life, and not a good one as she always told him he was just like his dad...a true dawg of the rock world. Along comes Rose, his old girlfriend's little sister, she wants to break out of the good girl mode and she chooses Payne to help her along. This book is about growing up even though they are both adults...it's figuring out that you are your own person and you can be different from your parents. Loved these two and am looking forward to the next book in the Rock Royalty series.

I received a free kindle copy of this book from the author. It is the fourth in the series of the Rock Royalty. This book opens after Payne seriously injured himself race car driving and his siblings and best friends think he has a death wish. His sister hires Rose, recently having returned from Seattle, to assist him in recovering at home and with his businesses. At fifteen, Rose had a crush on Payne, which she never got over. Because his mother was always bad mouthing his father and telling him he was just like him, Payne grew up believing it. Rose helps him realize that he is his own person; that he is lovable and can love. This is a delightful series, with quirky characters, witty dialogue, intrigue, some danger and romance. What's not to love?

Payne had dated Lily, Rose's sister, in high school. Rose had a big crush on Payne and had tried to act on in it when she was 15. He sent her away, but not for the reason she thought. Payne didn't want his terrible life to touch someone as good as Rose and so he left after that. Rose moved to Seattle with her dad and did everything he asked her to do. Until she found out her fiancée was sleeping with a neighbor. She decided it was time for a change and so she moved back to California. Payne had been in a terrible accident and needed someone to help him out and so his family decided that Rose would be a very good assistant. It is really hard for Payne to be noble when he is so attracted to Rose.

I was given this book free in exchange for an honest review.
This fourth book in the Rock Royalty Series by Christie Ridgway is incredible. The relationships of the characters just keep getting better and better. Rose had a crush on Payne when they were younger. She threw herself at him one night, but he was determined to keep her away from the depravity that was his life at the time. Years later, she is hired by Payne's brother to be Payne's assistant while he is injured. The close proximity to her drives him crazy. He can only keep his hands to himself for so long and then POW! Unfortunately, Payne believes himself to be just like his father and unable to have a normal, loving relationship. It then becomes Rose's job to convince him he's wrong.

Great Series!
This is a great series; this is the fourth book in the Rock Royalty series by Christie Ridgway. Payne Colson has always liked all things fast, hot, and dangerous, until he crashed bringing a woman from his past. Rose Dailey has always had a teenage crush on Payne, but he is way sexier now that he has grown into a man. If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the other books in this series.

This was the 4th tale in the Rock Royalty series- romance stories about the children of the fictional rock band the Velvet Lemons. In this story, Payne Colson is recovering from a car racing accident and is assisted by Rose Dailey, the younger sister of his high school girlfriend. Some of the plot seems familiar (teen crush, getting past a tainted past, and of course the sweet romance contrasting with some explicit sex scenes), but still entertaining.

Book 4 of the "Rock Royalty" is of Payne whose struggle with past influences of excess and entitlement drive him to adrenaline fueled action. As with all the "prince's" he too feels that he doesn't have what it takes to give love or fidelity and sabotages what might be by confusing what was! Each of these unique stories blend sexiness, heartbreak and stubbornness with sassy and emotive dialogue and situations and leave you wanting more! Thank goodness there's nine prince's and princess' stories to be told!

Payne has always been a risk taker. But his bravado takes hit when faced the biggest risk of all-LOVE. Rose is everything Payne wants but feels he is not capable of having. An impetuous act in her youth broke her heart. Payne's rejection stung and sent her life in her different direction. But recent events are causing her to question giving up so easily. When two immovable forces but heads explosions are sure to follow. Christie Ridgway's Touch Me is smart, sensitive and tempestuous.

With a fast paced life full of women and cars, Payne Colson only watched for a green light so that he could go full throttle. He never expected that the checkered flag at the end of the line would be waived by sweet and innocent little Rose. His past came speeding by him and right into the path of his future.
