In Valana, kingdom of the Nine Cities, evil has taken shape. The powerful demon called Draggah has found a suitable human to carry it out of the shadows and into the world of men. As Tiberius, Rafe, Lexi, and Olyva struggle to survive in the dangerous lands below the mists, Draggah unveils a wicked scheme to conquer Valana. Before anyone even knows of the evil spirit's existence Draggah springs a trap that will forever change the world of men and only the small band of friends from Avondale stand in the wretched creature's path to total domination.

Balestone, book three in the Avondale series, continues the epic fantasy adventures of a young wizard struggling to understand the elusive craft that he is so determined to master and his friends who seek to find a life outside the great city of Avondale. Lost in the blighted lands that are permanently covered by a thick mist, they soon discover the darkness of the great cataclysm is much deeper than they thought possible. With vivid characters and a frantic pace, Balestone is an action packed novel guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last page.

This story is the BEST!!!!!!!

The main characters, Tiberius, Lexington, Rafe and Olyva are just into so many different scenes in this book. They have rare good days and complete dastardly days the rest of the time.
They do come across some new friends, although few.
There is one really surprisingly, sweet, new character.
It will be an impatient wait for this reader until the next book comes out.
I have read every book this author has written into e-books. AND VERY GLAD ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!

Everything you'd want in a fantasy novel!!!

I loved this and the previous two books. There was plenty to keep your attention and interest. Just let me know when the next one is done!! I'm ready to read it now!!!

Another installment continuing the trend by its previous books. I do have to say I am disappointed at the antagonists of this story. Instead of opting for a more nuanced and interesting villain, the book features a stereotypical evil demon. There's no original motivation at all in that concern.

A good continuation to the series. Easy to read and it kept my attention. i was frustrated by how stereotypical some secondary characters where. Brutus and Olivia's mother and sisters seemed characature at best. ill be reading thw next one though
