I enjoyed this book just as much as the first in this series! Harper and Micah were fantastic, and Harper was such a relatable character to me. Amber Nicole is one of the best 'new to me' authors I've found this year and I hope she writes faster ;)
This book is absolutely adorable and I just completely melted for the couple. I love the Christian aspect of the characters and their relationships. Especially the fact that they are messy humans. Christians aren’t perfect and I feel it’s so important to highlight the real human struggles and decisions we make along the way. Even with a heart turned to God, we can make some messy situations for ourselves :) I connected so well with the FMC. We have way too much in common. Losing our focus on time with God in our productivity. The theme of Be Still was a timely reminder I needed to dwell on and I love how this book drove that home for me. And I just couldn’t love the MMC any more. I didn’t think it could get better than book one and this one may just have done that 🥹 He is so down bad for her that he can’t say no and goes along with a fake dating scheme he knows will probably break him. He’s such a caretaker 🥹 He prays over their situation and for her.
💞 He prays for her 💞 Fake Dating 💞 He carries her 💞 He falls first and harder 💞 Broken to Healing 💞 He makes her fell seen 💞Caretaking 💞 Childrens Minister x Teacher 💞 Sweet and Swoony 💞 Real Life, imperfect and messy
This was a great read. It’s the second in Amber’s series and it’s done so well. I was hoping Micah had his own story and sure enough he does! Worth the read
Dare to Fall wasn’t quite as strong for me as the first book, but it still had such a sweet message and an incredibly wholesome romance at its center. One thing Amber Nicole consistently does so well is write clean romances that still feel deeply swoony and emotionally intentional, and this book definitely continued that.
Micah was easily my favorite part of the story. He’s the kind of male lead that feels gentle, loyal, and genuinely caring in a way that’s hard not to fall for. Honestly, I’d probably fall for him in real life too, so Harper is definitely lucky. Their romance was soft, comforting, and filled with the kind of sweetness that makes Christian romance so enjoyable to read.
While I appreciated the themes and overall message of the book, I personally struggled to fully connect with the characters on a deeper emotional level this time around. Because of that, the story didn’t impact me as strongly as I hoped it would. That said, I truly think this comes down to personal preference more than anything else. For the right reader, I can absolutely see this story hitting much harder emotionally.
Overall, this was still a lovely, heartfelt read with a beautiful faith-centered message and lovable characters. Amber Nicole continues to prove she can write meaningful, clean romances with heart, and I’ll definitely continue reading her books.
And now… I’m officially excited for Olivia’s story because I I’m already invested.
Micah completely won me over. His patience, kindness, and steady support of Harper as she worked through her faith journey and her feelings made him such an easy character to love. I especially appreciated the way he gave her the space she needed while still encouraging her along the way.
One of my favorite parts of this story was watching Harper grow in her faith and confidence throughout the book. 🥹
While the pacing felt a little slower at times, the heartfelt character development and meaningful themes made it well worth the journey.
And that ending? So sweet✨ I immediately wanted to pick up A Season to Fall as soon as I finished.

I had the awesome opportunity to read an ARC of Dare to Fall and it was simply beautiful. When I read Dare to Hold, I knew I had discovered something special — and Dare to Fall proved I was right.
@authorambernicole has such a special gift for weaving romance and faith together in a way that makes you want to strive for more. I’m not sure I’ve ever related to a character more than Harper. Her struggles, her insecurities, her questions… they felt so real. And Micah brought answers, grace, and a kind of love that challenged me to grow closer to Jesus myself.
Watching Harper and Micah fall in love was more than just a romance story. It was the story of a girl falling in love with Jesus and allowing Him to write her story. And it was also about Micah learning to trust God, even when he wasn’t sure where that trust would lead him.
This story. This series. This friend group. It’s epic. And beautiful. And deeply meaningful. Amber has such an anointing on her writing.
Amber - you’re changing the world one love story at a time. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Dare to Fall is an absolute gem of a Christian romance! This was my first book by Amber Nicole, and I am officially a fan.
I absolutely loved Harper. She is a total spitfire, constantly on the move because she believes her worth is tied to her achievements and how others perceive her. Enter Micah. He sees right through her frantic pace and realizes she’s running herself ragged for nothing. He knows her true worth lies in who she is, not what she does.
When Harper decides to win back her ex, she convinces Micah—who loves to get under her skin—to be her fake boyfriend for a school gala. The dynamic between them is perfection. She’s spontaneous, and he’s the type of guy who sets reminders for his reminders! They are complete opposites, but they complement each other beautifully.
The best part? Micah has secretly been in love with her for two years. He uses this fake dating setup as an opportunity to show Harper how deeply valued she is, while gently guiding her back to her faith.
The chemistry in this book gave me all the tingles! Who needs high spice when you have a beautifully written, slow-burn romance between two people waiting until marriage? I loved this book with all my heart.
Thank you to Amber Nicole for an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. This is my honest review.
Amber does it again. Another totally relatable story. Raw and real. More please!
This was VERY relatable for me on so many levels, so that’s a factor in loving this book.
Again absolutely love the raw and real life, with the Lord! Hashing it out on the page. Sitting through sermons and prayers. I’ll say it again like my last review, truly a blessing to be able to have faith woven into my enjoyment of a good book.
Since she preached the plain gospel in the first book (you aren’t enough and that’s okay, in fact it’s the point!), this graduated on to making your faith and relationship with the Lord deep and real. Superb reminders to be present and to remain in Him.
I would say 4.5 stars and I actually liked this book more than the first one. All of the characters are really great, but the way this one was written was just a little better. It actually progressed and the story advanced more where as in the first it felt like the same thing was happening over and over. The only negative I would say is that I’m not the biggest fan of the “fake dating to make an ex jealous” trope because it doesn’t really make sense to do that but this one was only annoying half the time with that. Super cute love story and also just a great dive into their relationships with Jesus in a real way and great Christian content throughout.
I had the pleasure of getting this book for an ARC and thank you SO MUCH Amber for giving me the opportunity to dive into Micah and Harper's story a little early!
I'm gonna keep this spoiler-free despite how much I so want to just gush about this book but if you want a book that just hits you and makes you relate to Harper's walk w God as a lifelong Christian, this book is for you! Not only does Amber touch on a beautiful romance of pining and pursuit, but she makes the girlies who grew up in church but didn't have a deep relationship with God until later in life feel so seen.
And Micah is just *chef's kiss*. A good, Godly man who pursues and is patient. We love it.
Thank you for a beautiful story, Amber and I cannot wait to see what you write in the future!
Dare to Fall was one of my most anticipated reads of the year, and it did not disappoint 😌. Once again, Amber's message throughout the book is raw and honest. She introduced us to characters who aren't perfect, many times they don't know what they're doing or if it's what they're supposed to be doing. They sometimes make mistakes, but more importantly, they remind us that even our mistakes and mess can be turned into something beautiful in God's hands.
At first, I wasn't sure how the fake dating trope could work in the book's context, especially knowing Micah since Dare to Hold. I couldn't quite picture him agreeing to do something that is pretty much deceiving. However, as things progressed, I could understand where he was coming from, and I was pretty glad to have my suspicions about his feelings confirmed 😌. I liked that when the dare was first given, the word "fake" wasn't mentioned, and that it was acknowledged that it did make things messy. Not gonna lie, I'm still questioning a certain accountability group 🤣, but I was able to buy the argument.
Now, for those who read the first book, it's great to see our beloved characters again and where they are now. It was like seeing old friends. Note: It was great getting a Pastor Jack scene. The man has one big moment, and it's one of the best in the whole book! His sermon literally stopped me in my tracks while reading and made this book an even more intimate and deep experience.
And talking about our main characters, I knew since their first interaction that they were perfect for each other, exactly what people call "soulmates," made for one another. Amber shows us this in a very particular way with her writing of Micah's and Harper's POVs, which I particularly loved! 🤗
Micah could easily be described as one of the best MMCs I've ever read 😍. He was not a perfect man, but certainly an exemplary one. He struggles, he's unsure of many things, and even doubts himself, but he has a steady faith that makes him not doubt God. He abides instead. He loves and trusts the God he knows, and by doing that, he shows strength when loving and respecting Harper. No words are enough to tell you accurately how much I loved Micah.
Harper, sweet chaotic Harper. I felt she was a relatable character for those who might have grown up in church and were taught Christian culture more than what it meant to have a relationship with God; for those who struggle with control; for those who have ever gotten lost in routine and expectations (among so many other things) and started doing things automatically, just following motions. By the time the story starts, Harper is hurt from a previous relationship, hiding behind walls, and trying to keep up performances and the idea of who she should be in front of others. How she starts to recognize her own need to be honest with herself and everyone around her, how she learns what remaining and trusting looks like, that was absolutely beautiful and touching. At some point, I felt like I needed more of that process than what we got, but it's nothing to hold against the story.
I love these characters and their arcs. I love what they learn about God and themselves. I'll absolutely be waiting for the novella and the next book! Olivia broke my heart several times in this book, but I know her story will be as healing as the first two installments have been for me. ♥️
I was blessed with an Advanced Reader Copy, (my physical copy I purchased is currently on its way though🤭) and I am 1000% OBSESSED!!!!!
OH MY GOODNESS!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Micah + Harper!!!!❤️
Seriously no notes this book was absolutely phenomenal! From the characters, to the plot, to the Jesus moments, I cannot even put into words how much I loved this book! I swear both books from the series were EXACTLY what I needed to hear when I was reading them!
Micah and Harper were absolutely PRECIOUS! I especially loved how much I seen myself in Harper, all the way down to the career. There are so few books where the FMC is a teacher AND a christian, so that made this book SO much sweeter! Not to mention all the other ways I seen myself in her and I can truly say this book has shaped my relationship with Christ in a way I can’t explain. Micah is also SO sweet! The banter between them had me laughing and swooning all at once! My favorite moments were when he would make boundaries, honoring God, and I think it really showed how complex it can be to wait until marriage, because they wanted to wait and just as much they wanted to not wait, but not waiting was never an option. Overall I thought those moments were so sweet and just so perfectly written! This book SO much more than a romance book and I could read it over and over again!
The plot as always was AMAZING when written by Amber Nicole! Fake dating is actually one of my least favorite tropes because I hate the back and forth, but she wrote it so well and I can truly say I was drawn in for every page! My favorite thing about her books though is you get the whole plot and then several chapters of them being together, where it’s not too soon but they also don’t get together on the last page, so you get to see the sweet banter too!
The Jesus moments were EVERYTHING! Like Harper I grew up in church and I’ve head John 15 100 times over but I have never truly connected it to myself until this book! It this book has helped shift my perspective in a way I can’t even describe! I have been Harper and I needed every verse and every Jesus moment in this book!
All of that to say I am OBSESSED with this series and this book! I want to say I like this better than Dare to Hold but if I were to reread it I would probably just end up going back and forth and they are both amazing in every way! I cannot wait to read “A Season to Fall” and the rest of the series! I will be DEVASTATED when it’s complete🥹 Every book in this series has truly brought me closer to Christ in its own way! I am forever grateful for this series and Amber Nicole and the calling God has given her! His grace and mercy is evident on every page❤️
A friends to more, faith-filled romance, another wonderful read from Amber Nicole. As one of my highly anticipated reads this year, I was not disappointed. Amber does a wonderful job of her characters realizing how to deepen their faith and grow closer in their relationship with God.
Harper is a kindergarten teacher who knows how to do church, to serve, and even the Bible verses but she struggles with checking the boxes over relationship with God.
After a hard breakup, she is determined to win back the guy. What’s a little fake-date to the gala to make him see what he’s missing?
Micah is the children’s ministry director at New Chapter Church and has been falling in love with Harper for the last two years. When she asks him to be her fake-date, he can’t tell her no.
What was supposed to only be one fake-date has turned into more than either of them expected.
I have read the others in this series (Dare to Hold & A Season to Hold-Novella) except for the upcoming Season to Fall Novella available June 16th. Pre-orders are open now.
Some favorite quotes: (honestly there were too many to share)
“The corner of his mouth lifts, and there it is—that dimple. Just one, tucked into his left cheek, appearing only when his smile is real instead of practiced. It is, without question, the single most disarming thing about Micah Sanders, and I have spent the better part of two years pretending it doesn’t exist.”
“But I can still see the faint blush on her cheeks. And I know she’s thinking the same thing I am—that “Freckles” and “Dimples” doesn’t feel fake at all.”
“Spending time with God is a basic need. Like water. Like air. And we treat it like a bonus—like something we’ll get to when the week slows down.” He stops. “The week doesn’t slow down. You already know that. But God doesn’t need a slow week. He just needs your desire. Your willingness to say: this is my priority. This is what I want most.”
“God isn’t waiting at the bottom of your productivity list. Spending time with Him isn’t the reward you get after you’ve performed well enough. It’s the thing you’re supposed to actually want.”
“God doesn’t want your performance. He wants your presence.”
Harper Mitchell, a perfectionist kindergarten teacher, asks Micah Sanders, the children’s ministry director at New Chapter Church, to pretend to be her boyfriend in hopes of making her ex-boyfriend realize what he lost. Fake dating should be simple; they just need to play the part for one night at the upcoming fundraiser gala for her school. Micah agrees to be Harper’s fake boyfriend but he doesn’t have to fake anything – he’s been hopelessly in love with her for the past two years. What was only supposed to be for one night becomes a full-time fake relationship and the more time Harper and Micah spend together – the less fake everything begins to feel.
Harper and Micah might be a fake couple, but they don’t have to fake anything for me to love them together. The two of them are playful and tease each other before they start “dating”, so it is obvious they wouldn’t have to work hard to sell the idea that they are together. I love how their relationship deepens with each passing “date” and how they eventually become a safe place for the other to fall.
What truly impacted me the most was how the book explored faith. Harper is going through the motions of her faith and fails to understand what God’s grace truly is. Her struggle with trying to earn grace instead of accepting it made her incredibly relatable. Her faith journey felt incredibly authentic and seeing how deeply Micah wanted to help Harper truly know Jesus was genuinely heartfelt.
Dare to Fall is for readers who enjoy faith centered romance that are full of emotional depth, meaningful character growth, and a slow burn fake dating storyline. Amber Nicole seamlessly blends heartfelt romance with honest conversations about grace, identity, and faith making this a memorable read for anyone who enjoys contemporary Christian romance.
Thank you so much to Amber Nicole for giving me the opportunity to read an eARC of Dare to Fall! I was so excited to dive into this one and never wanted it to end!
Amber Nicole was my first introduction into Christian romance last year and she has quickly become a top author of mine. Her books are always filled with faith themes and characters that I relate to so deeply.
After reading book 1, Dare to Hold, I was so excited for Harper and Micah’s story! In this book, we follow Harper, a kindergarten teacher, and Micah, a children’s ministry director. On the outside, you see two people who annoy each other constantly and always seem to butt heads about something. But on the inside, we see a woman who is always trying to be enough for everyone, and a man who has loved this girl in secret for over two years.
Watching Harper navigate what she thinks she wants and realize what she actually wants was such a journey. We see her discover that it is okay to just let go of things and not have to do everything for everyone. She learns that faith is not a checklist and not something that looks perfect. It is messy, confusing, and unconditional love.
Micah becomes that person that Harper leans on, even when she doesn’t want him to be. He has loved her for so long and will do anything for her. He can’t say no to her, even when he knows he probably should. But as he sees her take the changing steps in her faith, Micah knows that relationship is more important than the desires of his hear.
I found a lot of myself in Harper and related to her a lot. I absolutely adored the rollercoaster of fake dating that she and Micah do. Lots of banter, lots of swoon, and an ending I wanted more from!! And all it took was one dare to change everything.
I cannot wait for more and for the next pair in the Dare to Love series!!
I mean is there anyone who didn’t fall in love with Harper and Micah right from book 1😅 such beautiful souls🫶🏾 Their banter is unmatched and their chemistry was too sweet😍
I will say that I felt robbed😭 because they were frustrating me a lot. I needed them to talk and move on from the fake dating long before they did. They didn’t have the discussion until towards the latter part of the book. And for a couple I was obsessed with, I wanted more of their genuine true and authentic feelings, interactions and love without having to put on a show for a certain someone. They had so much to offer but I feel like I didn’t get to see that😭😭😭 I still love them so much though (actually I think I’m just not a fan of fake dating) I’m thinking it’s not the genre for me so I should stay clear
Please can we give Mr Micah the accolades he deserves because when I say a Godly man, Micah is the poster child for that. I literally swooned every single time he would put aside his wants and desires and pray for Harper instead🥹 It’s the way in those two years he literally studied her and kept all he learnt about her in a safe place in his heart😊 blew my mind away honestly.
My girl Harper literally represents how a lot of us grew up in Christian homes and we’ve always felt it was about checking all the boxes but after going through all the phases of guilt and laziness, and maturing, really getting to know Christ, you find that it’s way more than just checking boxes. I will say that sometimes I still fall into that rhythm but God is helping me and I’m thankful for books like this that point you to doing better so thank you Amber Nicole for writing these type of books❤️ I love both the male friend group and the female friend group in the book. The way they love, care and show up for each other is golden✨
PS: I need Olivia’s book like yesterday🙂↔️ I feel like her book might be my favourite.
John 15:5 "I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."
Harper and Micah were introduced on book 1 and I was rooting for them, specially after how they met (iykyk). This book didn't disappoint at all. It all starts with a dare, it has a sweet romance with great chemistry, true friendships (loved revisiting Ivy, Olivia and Gray) and a beautiful message.
The author makes a good job presenting real characters with real struggles who don't shy away about making the real questions, but also gives a story with faith elements intertwined so natural in every aspect.
Micah? He was a godly man, patient and steadfast. I really appreciated how he prioritized Harper's relationship with God, listening to her and guiding her, and didn't make it about his feelings even when it was hard for him. I only wished there would've been more of his famous dad jokes.
A highlight for me was Harper's growth. I found myself relating in lots of aspects with her. I think anyone can relate with her walk with God, her doubts and how she let distractions get in the way of her time with God (following through the motions). This story is a good reminder that sometimes as Christians we tend to perform, try to do all perfectly by ourselves and keep having the control, but God only asks us to believe, surrender control, be honest to Him and remain in Him.
* This is a closed-door romance with faith-elements * No language * Thanks the author for this E-ARC opportunity. All the opinions expressed are purely my own.
Harper and Micah had my heart from the minute they met in "Dare to Hold" so of course I was waiting in eager anticipation of the next installment! While Dare to Fall is a standalone title, I HIGHLY recommend reading Dare to Hold before starting this one. Why? Because it is a delightful book, but also because you get to fall in love with Harper and Micah even earlier!
After being brutally dumped, Harper sets out on a mission to prove to her ex that he lost the best thing that every happened to him. The problem is that Harper hasn't even realized her worth apart from the "proving" she's been trying to do through the overachieving burnout game that has infiltrated her work, her dating life, and her faith.
In comes Micah, the children's pastor for her church. Micah was instantly attracted to Harper from the moment she stormed into the children's area of the church. But, Micah sees beyond the mask of perfection Harper keeps in place, and sees a heart that is longing for affirmation, for a safe place to land, and someone who will still love her when the perfectionism falls away. While Micah yearns to be that someone, he also knows Harper isn't ready.
Then comes a plan of a fake date to make Harper's ex jealous, and of course she asks Micah to help. What starts as a fake date for a single evening turns into multiple appearances together, and all the mayhem that ensues.
Dare to Fall is a delightful read, filled with moments to make you smile, to convict your heart, and to remind you of a love that is bigger than any romance author could write.
Each book by Amber Nicole is just unique with its own message, reaching deep, thought provoking and drawing one closer to God as it causes one to examine their walk with God. When I started it, I didn't know what to expect and oh yes it starts with a dare again! Harper has a confident facade, showing up always and her interaction with Micah always seems to be an explosive encounter. Then the dare...Harper needed help for what she thought was best for her and Micah who holds a secret torch for her can't say no. What follows is a mind-blowing journey to discovering happiness and true love; God's love and a beautiful love story between two people. Dare to Fall is a book that inspires and reminds one that God does not need performance to be worthy of His love. One simple task- abide in Him fully, trust Him and let Him carry the burden. The past can give perception and belief that to be worthy of God's love, there must be proof that one is worthy. He does not need all the activities but spending quality time with Him. Harper encountered God truly for herself and not the motions of being a child of God as well as realizing that she does not need to doubt herself or measure her worth against others and Micah support all the way is amazing. Gray, Ivy, Olivia and other characters.... brought God's love in every page. I enjoyed the way we see growth in the three friends as they go through different phases of life. I am excited for Olivia's story and it promises to be one awesome read. One book to have and read over and over again. I voluntarily read a copy of this book and the opinions are mine. .
Dare to Fall by Amber Nicole is the second book in the Dare to Love book series. This book can be read as a standalone.
I typically go into most books without reading the blurb. I like to go into them without any hints of what the story could be about.
As I started reading, I quickly figured out this was a fake dating trope. I normally don’t love them. But…..I gave it a go anyway and I am glad I did.

Micah was my favorite character hands down. His patience, kindness, and steady support of Harper as she works through her faith journey.
This is my first book I’ve read of Amber Nicole’s and over all I really enjoyed it. I appreciated the themes and overall message of the book.
This was a good and heartfelt read. It had a beautiful faith-centered message with lovable characters as well as not so lovable characters. That being said I did feel the pacing felt a little slower at times (more so towards the beginning) but the character development and meaningful themes made it a worthwhile read.
When I read the last word of the book, i wasn’t ready for it to be over. I immediately wanted to know more about Harper and Micah’s story. I cannot wait for A Season to Fall to read more of them.
I’m excited to continue reading more of Amber Nicole’s books.
Thank you for the opportunity to read this as an ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
From the moment we first saw Micah and Harper together in Dare to Hold, I was hooked. Their banter was absolute perfection, and I just knew right away that their romance was going to be a good one. Needless to say, I had high expectations going into this one... and thankfully, it met and exceeded them all. Oh, Micah and Harper... I just loved them so much! First, the romance... I love a good fake dating story, and this one was done so well. She needs a fake date to make her ex jealous... and he's been pining for her from the time they met. No risk for complications there at all. The chemistry between these two was really sweet, and I couldn't help but love all that yearning. But what I think Amber Nicole truly does so brilliantly is mixing that swoon worthy romance into a story that is also unapologetically Christian, always pointing it right back to Jesus in a way that feels genuine... these characters aren't perfect Christians and don't always get it right, but I love that they're not afraid to ask the hard questions and to strive to figure it out. It's relatable and beautiful, and I absolutely love it. I cannot wait to see what is going to happen next in this series!
Dare to Fall is a Christian romance with kisses only and no language. It is the second full book in the Dare to Love series. While you might have some better understanding of some of the friendship dynamics (AND you'll get to see Micah and Harper's meet cute), this could probably be enjoyed as a standalone as well.
**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.
Ever since reading Dare To Hold, I’ve been impatiently waiting for Micah and Harper’s story. It was everything I hoped for and more. This may be my new favorite in the series.
Micah and Harper are complete opposites, but they balance each other in the best ways. Their bickering and teasing banter had me hooked from book one! Micah knows exactly how to rile Harper up and has fun doing it. But he is also patient, kind, and gentle—a complete green flag. I loved how he wanted to support Harper regardless of what their relationship looked like.
Harper is a spitfire with a huge heart. I loved watching her grow in her faith and confidence. I could completely relate to her ADHD struggles, and watching her start to see Micah differently was so satisfying.
If you’re looking for perfect Christian examples, you won’t find that here. Micah and Harper are real, relatable, messy, and flawed. They mess up and make questionable decisions—like agreeing to fake date, aka deceiving Harper’s coworkers. But they pray for guidance, seek accountability, and pursue a genuine relationship with Jesus. I love how Micah puts Harper’s relationship with God above his own desires. Amber does an incredible job weaving Biblical truth naturally throughout the story. Pastor Jack’s message was a timely word for me, and I appreciate Amber allowing God to lead her as she pours her heart into these stories.
The romance had me grinning, the faith content both challenged and encouraged me, and Micah completely stole my heart. If you love romance that points readers back to Jesus, add this one to your TBR.

Thank you Amber Nicole for the gifted ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I have to be honest, I think I enjoyed the tropes and execution in this book even more than the first one in the series! We get a wonderful fake dating situationship between two people who work together in church and are constantly at each other's throats. But the ultimate swoon-worthy twist? The MMC has actually loved her the entire time! 😭💖 Seeing his incredible restraint and how their relationship beautifully blossoms from tension to love was just so wonderful to read.
The character growth here is phenomenal, especially for the FMC. I deeply appreciated how the author handled her realistic struggles with her faith. Watching her transition from just mindlessly performing and serving in church to actually cultivating a true, budding relationship with God was so inspiring. I also really loved the dynamic between her and her friend group!
While I absolutely loved the story, my main constructive observation is about the dialogue. Just like in the first book, I felt that the writing style could have been a bit more refined because the dialogue sometimes felt a little too mechanical. It was hard to distinguish the characters based on their speech patterns since they all sounded quite similar. Sometimes it felt like they were preaching to each other rather than having a natural conversation, and I really wished I could have seen a bit more raw humanity in their words.
Overall, the book was absolutely wonderful. If you love fake dating, "he fell first" vibes, and stories of genuine spiritual growth, definitely pick this up!
Clean, Christian Romance that can make a 22 year old swoon, cry, and actually enjoy/relate to the characters is in my opinion hard to find some days. It’s not that Christian romance isn’t out there, it’s just that the more known authors writings are harder as a Gen Z to relate to. I found the Dare to Love by pure accident a few months back on Tik Tok when Amber popped up on my for you page advertising the first book in the series Dare to Hold. I was skeptical but after reading fell in love with Amber’s work. Dare to Fall though has a special place in my heart because it follows Harper, a kindergarten teacher and lifelong Christian that struggles most days to spend time in the word. This is the first time I’ve seen a story like Harper’s be told, and it gutted me. I found so many times throughout my read where I identified with Harper and her struggles, especially with feeling worthy of love. One of my favorite quotes from the book is “Pray about it. But also trust that maybe God’s already been answering your prayers. You just didn’t expect the answer to come in a pantry.” I huff out a quiet laugh. “Yeah. Maybe.” In my annotations I put how often do we see God answer our prayers and don’t recognize or appreciate it because it didn’t happen the way we wanted. I feel like it’s more often than not. I absolutely adored this book.
In Dare to Hold, we got a glimpse of Micah and Harper and I felt like they had more to them to come which is exactly what the author did in Dare to Fall.
What started as fake dating dare from Ivy and Olivia, Harper’s two best friends turned into a life Harper never imagined. Micah, all around perfect man. He’s a children ministry leader at New Chapter Church. He’s also Gray, Ivy’s husband and his best friend. Micah has been in love with Harper since the day he met her. They never get along though. So when her best friends dare her to ask Micah to a gala, Harper uses this as opportunity to make Collin her ex boyfriend jealous. Can she keep from falling for Micah and can he keep from getting heartbroken.
This was a beautiful story of grace and faith. I feel like we as Christians are all Harper a lot of the time. We try to perform and be perfect and people pleasers. Trying to always strive, but God doesn’t need us to be something we aren’t. All He asks of us is to believe and ABIDE. That word, Abide means to Remain.
I can honestly say I gave this ALL THE STARS IT DESERVES.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and was not required to give a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are all my own.
Amber Nicole is one of the authors I don’t bother reading their book blurb because I know it’s going to blow my mind and guess what? It did! More than I expected!
I already the book one of the dare series months ago and I promise you I haven’t recovered from it. Now book two? Sweeeettt.
I feel like at one point or the other in our lives, we are like Harper, struggling with being still in God’s presence, i love how realistic this is. And I love how her growth was in progress not sudden.
I enjoyed reading about Harper so much, maybe because I could relate to her struggles with her relationship with God. The conversation with Micah that Sunday evening about John 15 felt like a reminder. It felt like a warm hug just for me.
I hate that Harper felt she had to settle or change to be who she isn’t to be loved. At point, I literally want to jump into the book and speak some sense into her.
Micah is such a sweet man🥹🥹🥹 A man that patiently wait for you even when his emotions are trying so hard, pray for you, pray with you and encourage you. I’m SATTT! What a man!
I love how his struggles were portrayed and not just some perfect man who doesn’t sin.
Overall, this is a great book! I love the romance, the faith theme and the lessons
“Dare to Fall” is a story about Harper Mitchell, a kindergarten teacher, and Micah Sanders, a children’s ministry director. Harper and Micah meet in book one of this series and they do not immediately hit it off. They definitely don’t hate each other, but they’re not best friends either. When Ivy and Olivia dare Harper to ask Micah if he would be her (fake) date to a school district gala, things start to change. I loved seeing their relationship (along with their faith) progress throughout the book.
Like book one, this book is filled with so many faith-related conversations and moments, and I found Harper’s struggles to be super relatable. The main message throughout is to abide in Christ and to stop trying to do everything perfectly all by yourself. I like that Harper was asking hard questions and that she knew Micah would be willing to listen and talk through answers with her. It was also nice to see Gray and Ivy again and hear about their life together as well as see them encouraging their friends. We learn a bit more about Olivia’s story as well, which makes me excited for the next book!
There were so many sweet moments in this book, and I highly recommend checking it out💚
Thank you to Amber Nicole for the ARC! All opinions are my own.
Absolutely incredible book. It tackles so many topics that are incredibly relevant to today's church culture. It serves as a powerful reminder for all of us—whether lifelong Christians or new church members—that it’s all about having a true relationship with Jesus, not just putting on a "show." It’s easy to get caught up in the presentation, the lights, and the constant busyness of volunteering, but this story beautifully highlights that being truly present in my personal relationship with God is what matters most. I absolutely loved the dual POV! It was wonderful to see both the man's and the woman's perspectives throughout this journey. On top of that, the character development from the first book to this second one was incredible. Amber Nicole has now written two books in this series, and they have both been absolutely amazing. She shows so much vulnerability, touching on serious topics that many churches and Christians shy away from because they're considered too "taboo." She has a beautiful way of putting these heavy themes into words, using them as a powerful tool for her readers to learn and grow.
2.5-3 ⭐️s I liked the spiritual growth elements in this book, and seeing the characters change. But there were a couple major errors. THE SCHOOL BENEFIT GALA (that has been discussed a lot early in the book and is the reason they’re faking being together) - THE DAY CHANGES! It is supposed to be on a Friday night, then it changes to a Saturday night the day of, but then the next day is Saturday so it’s like it switched back to being Friday night again?! There were also some day mix ups regarding the kindergarten art show.
Also, Micah supposedly meets with his accountability group of men every fortnight but we never hear about that again after their first meeting where he mentions saying yes to the fake dating. He was supposed to be being open with them and letting them know how it is going. He fake dates for like 6 weeks or so, we should have gotten a few more meetings with the men over that time.
I really liked the Christian elements, and I don’t like having to give low star rating for Christian fiction but this book definitely needed more editing and checking before being published.
I love Harper and Micah’s book so much. They just fit together so well, while Harper is chaotic and energetic, Micah is calm and collected. I loved the pace of the story, Harper went through such a big moment in her faith while leaning on Micah, who’s always there to listen and guide her. I also just love how selfless Micah is in term of putting Harper and her faith first, but also praying and trusting God on a side. He’s such a true example of godly man.
It’s such a faith filled story, I feel like I’ve been going through the motions like Harper a lot and John 15 really made me to slow down and just remain. I also love all the friendship moments between each of their friend groups, how important it is to have friends and especially godly friends to support and guide you. I just love this book so much, maybe cause I can relate a lot. But it’s just so good, a must read and definitely my favourite Christian romance series.
I am so excited for “A season to fall”, I already preordered it, can’t wait😊
thank you so much for in you ARC list, forever grateful❤️
