Stand-Alone Romance

Young socialite, Tiffany Thompson, seems to have it all, everything but love, that is. Guarded since her high school boyfriend’s betrayal, she wouldn’t recognize real love if it hit her over the head. Unless it’s a can of paint, and successful financier Todd Jameson is behind it.

Todd fell hard and fast for Tiffany a year earlier, but, unwilling to risk his own heart after a college sweetheart shattered it, he avoids Tiffany and vows to keep his distance. Fate has other plans, however, and changes both their minds.

But not everyone is happy with their budding romance. Unbeknownst to either of them, a vengeful enemy stands in the shadows with plans to take Tiffany, and Todd is in the way.

Halfway around the world, Angela Bartholomew, a former foe in Tiffany’s circle, is serving a year-long sentence as a volunteer in a Romanian orphanage in payment for her lying, manipulative ways. That or be disinherited by her parents. The spoiled debutante is determined to get home at all cost, but Fate has plans for her, too, and Angela is not prepared for how her life will change.

Will love conquer heartbreak, or will greed and revenge ruin all three lives?

MK has always been a voracious reader. After hitting a dry spell of reading material, she decided to write the kind of book she'd like to read.

This resulted in the creation of her debut novel, Intentional. (Award for Best Sweet Romance - eFestival of Words- August 2014)

Unintentional, her second book, is based on the life of one of the characters in Intentional. Unintentional was written as a stand-alone book.

Breaking Braydon, Taking Tiffany, The Reader, The Jack, and Famous by Default have all been released on Amazon.

Ashes, the first book in a new series of modern-day fairy tale retellings, releases in May 2022. (Five more books in the series to follow)

When she's not writing novels, she likes to spend her free time traveling the world, splashing in mud puddles (She lives in Seattle, what can she say?), watching movies and reading (!)

She LOVES to hear from her readers!

Harkins has done it again! She’s given her readers a story about two people willing to risk their already-damaged hearts in order to give love one more try. It’s a familiar trope, because we’ve all been there, and we enjoy seeing how two young lovers find their way through. But Harkins offers more than romance in Taking Tiffany.

Sure, this book gives every romance reader exactly what they’re most desperate for, a stunning young couple on the cusp of love, and a front row seat to all that dares come between them, namely their own shattered hearts and the walls erected as a result. But, as they claw their way toward love and happiness, danger lurks for Todd and Tiffany, though they have no idea there’s an enemy nearby, let alone what’s about to happen to them.

As an avid reader of romantic suspense, I often see what’s coming on the horizon, but honestly, the big reveal at the end of Taking Tiffany floored me. I had no idea and couldn’t have possibly guessed who the mystery man was. That’s rare in this genre, so I applaud Ms. Harkins on stumping this savvy reader.

But this book offers so much more than that. As with her last book, Breaking Braydon, from which Tiffany and Todd were borne, there is much levity offered in the way of humor. Just at the right moment, the author tickles your funny bone, and you can’t help but giggle in relief. But that’s not to say there’s no angst. Believe me, there’s plenty of emotional turmoil here, not only between Todd and Tiffany, but also with Angela, a secondary arc leftover from Harkins’ last novel.

We came to despise Angela in Breaking Braydon, and rightfully so. She was entitled and meddlesome. And not much appears to have changed for her in Taking Tiffany, at least not at first. But the author soon takes you on Angela’s journey toward not just self-awareness, but toward redemption and atonement, though it’s not an easy odyssey. And while Angela wants nothing more than to return home to her life of ease and wealth, she soon confronts a war within her own soul and risks losing her defiantly reformed heart to not only the man who thwarts her at every turn, but the children she’s been forced to serve.

This book will touch you on so many levels with its heart and humor, its strength and message of perseverance in the face of loss and loneliness. Taking Tiffany wraps you in the arms of love, without rubbing your nose in what’s better left behind closed bedroom doors. It’s classy and dignified, fresh and resilient. And you are so gonna love it! A+, Ms. Harkins! Well done!

This has quickly bumped up my favorite books list. I really loved it. Loved it so much, as soon as I finished, I went right back to the beginning to read it again!
Tiffany was adorable! Ditto for Todd. I loved them both! Their relationship was fun to read and they had so much chemistry! MK Harkins has no trouble creating cute and clever romance; she’s nailed it with Taking Tiffany. I felt like Todd and Tiffany were old friends of mine from the very beginning. I loved all the secondary characters too and now I can’t wait to go back and read Breaking Braydon, because, yes, I haven’t read Breaking Braydon yet, BUT that didn’t make it hard to get right into Taking Tiffany. I had no trouble keeping up with this story. It can definitely stand on its own without the prequel. MK Harkins absolutely kept me guessing until the end too. I tried throughout the story to guess the badguy, but it took me quite a while to figure it out.

The first time I read from Angela’s POV I wasn’t sure I’d like her. Well, actually I was sure I wouldn’t like her, but I wasn’t sure I would like reading about her. I was so wrapped up in Tiffany’s story, I didn’t care to hear from Angela. But the more I read, the more I enjoyed reading these chapters. Angela’s story was extremely interesting. I found myself looking forward to these chapters.
I can honestly say, I enjoyed both story lines immensely. Well done, Ms. Harkins! I haven’t read The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks, but I watched the movie and this reminded me of that. Two very different stories all wrapped up into one. It’s really, really good!

I can’t wait to see what MK comes up with next, until then, I’m off to read Breaking Braydon!

~ 5 Kept Me Guessing Stars ~

Talk about book full of lies, betrayal, mystery and suspense, but also had an amazing love story built into it too.

I am truly having a hard time writing this review and not because I didn't like the book, but because I LOVED it but I can't really tell you why because that would spoil the storyline. It is extremely hard to write a review that will do this book justice without giving any spoilers, but I am going to try.

This is the 4th book I have read by M.K. Harkins and I have to say her books just keep getting better. I really enjoyed this one because besides the really great love story between Todd and Tiffany we got a story that kept me guessing all the way through. Every time I thought I had it figured out, she would throw something at me and change my mind. I was happy in the end that I guessed some of the mystery, but she threw another curve ball at the end that added another element to the story. Her stories are too long but they move at the perfect pace. Nothing is ever rushed but there is never a time in the story that it drags either. Being that this book was told in Dual POV and different time frames, I thought the flow was perfect. Everything just worked well together and I liked how she told this story. My favorite part of this book has to be the epilogue. I thought she did a magnificent job wrapping up everyone's story and leaving the reader in a happy place :)

What I found intriguing about this book was it was kind of like we got 2 stories in one. This book is basically about Todd and Tiffany (Both characters from Breaking Braydon) but she also gave us Angela's story as well. She was also a character from Breaking Braydon who was the villain in that book. I was curious if she was going to be able to redeem Angela in this story after everything she did in the other book. I am not going to tell you if she did or not, you will just have to read the book.

Like I said before this book is about Tiffany and Todd. I loved their characters. They seemed to mesh well together. This was actually kind of like a friends to lovers story. Because Todd and Tiffany have been friends for over a year but during that time they have also been fighting feelings for each other, until one night one of them cracks and makes it known how they feel. You'll have to read the book to see who broke first ;) I thought both Todd and Tiffany were relatable and believable characters. You can't help but get sucked into their world and root for a HEA for them.

Taking Tiffany is a spin off from Breaking Braydon and I guess it can be read as a stand alone but my recommendation would be to read Breaking Braydon first and then this one. You meet Tiffany and Todd in book 1 and I think you get more of feeling of their characters by reading book 1 first. Plus you'll understand the dynamic of the other characters better. We do get to see a lot of Braydon, Jain and Colin in this book, so it would be nice to know their backstory as well.

So if you are a fan or are looking for a book that has an intriguing and captivating storyline and lovable characters and has the perfect mix of mystery, suspense, and romance, then this is the book to read. I think every reader should give this book a chance, there is something for all readers out there.

A book you can read in one sitting! Clean, funny, exciting and filled with adorable characters!

I received the book from the author in exchange for an honest review so, here it goes. I began reading this book expecting something completely different. To my surprise, it ended up being something a whole lot better. Somewhere around the insides of my mind I was imagining some kind of Stockholm syndrome-ish story (the title and all) and boy, was I wrong! I came across an endearing, fun story that kept me guessing all the way to end.

Tiffany is the epitome of an all-American heiress: beautiful, blonde, rich and fond of the fund raisers! But underneath it all, there is a vulnerable, scared, sweet, loving and pretty awesome normal day to day woman with dreams and ambitions, just like you and me. At 28, although not under the same roof, she still lives with Mom and Dad, feeling safe and cocooned under the love and protection of awesome parents, who care and worry about her well-being. She dreams of finding the love of a good man to share her life with but, being a heiress with trust issues due to past experiences can be tough!

Todd. The sweet hero. Having earned his position in life by hard work, and the overcome of his sad past is what makes him hot. He is not the typical alpha male hero, nor the badass, bad boy, man-whore wo needs saving that we are used to in recent books. He’s just real and maybe, just maybe he is the kind of man you could stumble upon someday! He has the hots for Tiffany, but after a year of being friends with her, putting up with her attempts of fixing him up with other girls, he’s tired and will do something about it. He’s guarded though, whereas believes Tiffany will, eventually reject him due to her social status. He doesn’t know, she’s the other side of his coin.

<
"She didn't know it yet, but she was mine."
~Todd

They finally get together and accept their feelings. I loved how there’s no mood of insta-love since they were dancing around each other for a year, which is important in my reads. From this point on, everything starts falling into place, or, I can say gets complicated. It seems that there is someone out there that doesn’t want them together. Someone who has a plan and, Todd is getting in the way.

The story is told using different POV’s which gives it a unique voice. It makes you feel like you’re watching an imaginary movie, where you feel the need to guess the outcome and unmask the “villain”. And as things begin to fall into place, their love grows stronger, despite the misunderstandings and those willing to tear them apart.

I haven’t mentioned Angela right? Well, she is another story altogether. We get her POV, we get her unique story. How it is connected to our main couple? If you read Breaking Braydon you undoubtedly know. In the beginning, she is probably a character meant to be hated, but as we see her walk a mandatory path to redemption, the clash of her personality and well-known flaws become a hilarious road to a deserved HEA.. maybe… (book 3??)

Bear in mind that this is a clean romance, the chemistry is scorching and the sexual tension between characters is off the charts! But that’s all. Therefore, if you’re expecting long descriptive sex scenes, this not the book for you. If you enjoy a story as much as I do, that doesn’t matter at all. Love is love, romance is romance, whether explicit or not!

I’m definitely reading more books from Miss Harkins, and will take the opportunity to read Book 1 in the series! I do recommend this book and I am grateful for the opportunity given by the author to provide this review.

Tiffany has sworn off relationships after a disastrous high school break up that still leaves her hurting. She's too busy throwing girls at Todd to notice he happens to have his eyes on her. After two run ins, they give it a shot, but there's something sinister lurking the background. An unknown person keeps interrupting their time together and is awaiting the perfect opportunity to take Tiffany. Across the world, as a form of punishment, socialite Angela has been sentenced to a year at a Romanian orphanage. After lying and manipulating things to go her way, her family wants nothing to do with her and Angela wants nothing to do with Romania. She's figured out a way to get home, her plan slowly hatching, but the orphanage may be just what she needs to find a new side of herself. This is the sequel to Breaking Braydon in the Breaking and Taking series.

Tiffany is a funny character, she's the epitome of an American heiress, complete with fundraisers, but has a vulnerable side she's afraid to show. She has dreams of her independence and finding love, but she's got a vulnerable, dependent side. Of all characters, Tiffany felt the most realistic. Todd is definitely a charmer, I enjoyed his relationship with Tiffany and how his past formed him into who he was. There was definitely some twists coming from Todd that made this book even more enjoyable. The sinister unknown person, whose POV you read from without knowing who it is, definitely brought a lot of suspense to the book. I loved that M.K. Harkins weaved their POV into the story, allowing the reader to see from their eyes and hear their thoughts. It made it just a tad bit creepier, but also made the book have so much more depth.

The Angela part of the story threw me off at first, she brings with her a lot of unknowns and of course her POV is completely separate from the others. It was an interesting way to do this book, but I enjoyed the breaks between the POV's of Todd, Tiffany, Angela, and the unknown kidnapper. I could have read a whole book just about Angela and her growth. She had this side to her that readers never saw in Breaking Braydon, so it was a welcome change. I liked the minor characters in her segments, especially the cute, brooding doctor. There are also a lot of twists within her story that brought this story full circle for me, because Angela's role in everything, both at home and in Romania, shows how much she's grown and helps close the doors on questions we had unanswered.

I enjoyed Taking Tiffany, even if I did get confused by the switching POV a time or two. The twists are totally unexpected, the romances heartwarming, and the character development phenomenal. M.K. Harkins writes a great, clean, and funny story with great characters. You won't want to put this one down.

Wow, Ms. Harkins, did it again, with the delightful suspense romantic novel or the way I saw it, "Sheep in wolves clothing", "Taking Tiffany"..We met Tiffany in the book "Breaking Braydon"..The plot of this amazing book is that someone is plotting to kidnap Tiffany, but not only for money, but for something more destructive ...Tiffany is young beautiful woman who comes from a wealthy and adoring parent's and a fiance who ended up cheating on her with her best friend that left her more than a broken heart..
Todd Jameson is Braydon best friend, who fall hard for Tiffany, from the moment he met her, but stay away from her because just like Tiffany, his heart was broken by the woman he once loved..
Tiffany and Todd, start to have feelings for each other but scare to open their heart to one another, this 2 souls who desperately want to fine love but deciding not to gave into their feelings, specially with their personal demons hanging over their heads and enemy's lurking in the shadows and who are these shadows, friends or foe????
This book had me laughing and smiling and anxious at the same time, of who the man plotting to kidnap Tiffany and every time I think who might be it, I was wrong, Ms. Harkins had me guessing...As the climax of the book start to unfold and the enemy's are revealed, I was shock to learn who was behind it, because wow, never saw that coming, love when I don't see it coming and take me by surprise..
And to top it off, we also have another character from Breaking Braydon, the loathing and the disgusting character of Angela...Ms. Harkins take us into the world of Angela and the journey she take and the lessons she learned to become a human being...We learn why Angela is the way she is and people who helped her heal and teach her the power of love or is a plot to make people think she redeeming herself and what does Angela has to do with Tiffany and the plotting to the kidnap????
Ms. Harkins, wrote a wonderful story about love, revenge, redemption, is about friendships and is about malice and jealousy...
I highly recommended this series, starting off with Breaking Braydon..
Congratulations Ms. Harkins, you did it again, you keep me on my toes :-)

A book with ALL KINDS of feels and a guaranteed book hangover!!!

I loved EVERY single page of this book! It was a fun, funny, mysterious, heartwarming and addicting read. Taking Tiffany had me anticipating the story going in one direction but finding myself going in the complete opposite direction about my predictions.

Now, true to MK Harkins fashion, the story has multiple POV’s so you know what each character is going through, what they’re thinking and how they feel. She also likes to add the element of surprise with the mystery POV. It can mess with your mind sometimes, but I think that’s why I enjoy it so much; it keeps you guessing.

I can’t tell you, without spoiling the story, how much I loved these characters and their stories. As soon as I finished this book, I cried from how wonderful it was and how touching the characters were. I’m not kidding at how much I was moved by one character in particular. It literally blew me away!

MK Harkins has a special place in my heart and I always loved her stories, but Taking Tiffany, WOW! It is my favorite!!! Will it ever be replaced as my favorite MK Harkins novel? I highly doubt it. Worth the read, all the feels and tears you may cry.

Tiffany, Todd, Braydon, Jain, Colin and Angela, oh my! Man, MK Harkins bring her A game with Taking Tiffany. Not only are we following Tiffany and Todd, but there is all kinds of other stuff going on as well and I loved every page of it. The book can be read as a stand alone, however I recommend reading Breaking Braydon first to get the full effect of the characters, meaning Angela.

Tiffany first appeared in Breaking Braydon as a socialite that runs in the same fundraising circles as Braydon and Todd. While she's from money, Tiffany is very down to earth even if she is named after a jewelry store (ouch MK Harkin, ha ha). Knowing Todd for the past year through Braydon, Tiffany has admired him from afar, never letting her true feelings for him show.

"She didn't know it yet, but she was mine." ~ Todd

While attending the same function, these two finally stop dancing around their feelings to see what happens, which is a lot. MK Harkins has a way with insta-love that makes it work. Todd and Tiffany never made a move for the other in the past year, however when they finally did, it all seemed to click. They now make up the powerful foursome with Braydon and Jain and of course things can't seem to go smoothly with them. Between Tiffany's father, their past baggage weighing them down and somebody not wanting them together, things get messy quickly.

This is where the book really picks up steam and I couldn't read it fast enough to see what in the heck was going on. It's well written from various points of view to get every side of the story. A story that played out like a movie in my head really. There was the sweet romance between Todd and Tiffany then the dum, dum, dum, of whoever is set on keeping them apart chiming in every other chapter or so.

Taking Tiffany is a great addition to the series and Angela is set up nicely if her book is next. Or maybe it's time we learn more about the oh so friendly Colin. Wink, wink.

M.K. Harkins put a smile on my face again.
First of all, even though you don’t need to read the first book in the Breaking & Taking series, I think you should. It’s good to have the background on some of the characters and it’s like catching up with old friends. An added bonus is that her books always put you in a happy place.
M.K. has once again artfully combined the elements of a sweet romance and suspense in Taking Tiffany. I ‘met’ Tiffany in Breaking Braydon. I liked her then, now I want her as my best friend. Todd was very quiet during BB, but after reading TT, I’ve now fallen in love with him and I’m sure anyone who reads this book will, as well.
But don’t get me wrong, there are characters in this book you are not going to like. There’s even one that disappointed me and surprised me at the same time. I never thought I would feel sorry for this character, but I did. And I even had a change of heart regarding another character.
Taking Tiffany is definitely not predictable and it’s full of twists and turns which will have you turning those pages as quickly as you can and you may even lose some sleep while you rush to reach the conclusion.
I gave Taking Tiffany 5 stars and I’m also hoping there will be more books in this series.

MK's best book yet!!
This book may be read as a stand alone, but I recommend reading Breaking Braydon beforehand, so as to get a bit more background. Not necessary, but makes the reading more fun! You will get an inside edge than other readers who have not! ;) Haha!! Anyway, this is a wonderful book and my favorite of MK's so far.. There is plenty of mystery, romance, laughs & a few sighs. I recommend this to everyone who loves a good book!

Thank you Netgalley for the copy in exchange for an honest review!

Taking Tiffany follows the story of Tiffany and Todd. Both Tiffany and Todd have lost faith in an honest relationship, after both were previously betrayed. But when they meet, things could be different. A year after meeting, Todd finally makes a move. But outside forces seem hellbent on keeping them apart. Then, when Tiffany is kidnapped, all of the pieces finally fall into place. Will Todd be able to save Tiffany from being harmed so they could live they're life together?

I thought this was a really good book. I really enjoyed the storyline and the suspense that came with it because it left me wondering all throughout the book for what would happen next and when. I loved that it was told from several perspectives, including the kidnappers. I really enjoyed all the characters, even Angela, whom I didn't think I would like at the beginning but I loved how her story turned out as well. I'm happy with the ending of this story and the way it unfolded. I would definitely be interested in reading more from this author and this series if she writes more. Overall this was a very good read and I would recommend!

I feel this book should be rated a 10! Tiffany, Todd, Jain, Braydon, Colin awesome characters. Tiffany and Todd, two people who have a hard time to give into a trust, love relationship again as their past relationships left them devastated and hard to love someone again. But the mystery in this story is quite intense, this Author keeps you in suspense, and the shocking turn of events, holy cow, WOW. Now Angela is something else, but she definitely surprises you also. I have read other books by Ms Harkins, but Taking Tiffany is my favorite. I can't wait for the next book. Another bestseller. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read this. I hope you like my review, I didn't want to spoil it for anyone. I have recommended other's to read it when it comes out. You have a special gift. Thank you

Taking Tiffany is a spin-off of Breaking Braydon, this can be read as a stand alone but if you have read Breaking Braydon, you will get a chance to keep up with those characters.

Tiffany and Todd, both have problems trusting others but have fallen hard for each other in a couple of months. No matter how much they try someone is always trying to break them apart. This is written in several different characters POVs, Tiffany's, Todd's, Angela and the mysterious kidnappers. It flows nicely and the story line is well written. The characters all seemed a little too perfect for me but I did enjoy reading their story.

This is a book that has a little bit of everything: suspense, mystery, and maybe a lot of love for spouses, friends and family.

Got this book from Netgalley for an honest review:

When I started the book I was a little interigued and annoyed that it started from the kidnapper point of view but then as I got into the Tiffany and Todds points of view I understood why it was written that way and actually loved it. I am also glad for Angelas point of view and see how she turned out. This book was great on so many levels from where you get to see both the characters grow from being broken hearted and all that to being able to work together. Some of the stuff they got into especially with Colins and his behavior did I laugh. They had fun and meaningful conversations and have a loyalty for each other that I absolutely loved. The ending shocked me not knowing who was the kidnapper and what they could have wanted revenge for.

I went into reading Taking Tiffany, without having read Breaking Braydon. It is also the first book I've read by M.K. Harkins and I'm proud to say that I wasn't disappointed. Todd and Tiffany had such amazing chemistry from the start, and the side characters were fantastic and easily loveable. M.K. Harkins had me guessing all along as to who was behind trying to keep Todd and Tiffany apart, and I never would have guessed until the final moment it's revealed.

A fantastic read, I'll be sure to be reading more by this author.

From the start of this book, I had an easy time coming to know & love all of the characters. The author does a good job of making sure you know all of the characters. I do wish that I had read the first book in this series, Breaking Brayden, before reading this book, as I feel that it would have made me appreciate Brayden & Jain more. This could absolutely be a stand-along book though.

Kindly provided with an ARC in exchange for an honest review via Netgalley...........

This is Tiffany and Todds story and it was interesting that both our leads were at the exact same point in their lives with respect to staring a relationship.....wary and not fully on board. Was this the ideal point to start something between the two I hear you ask ?. I must admit I thought the same.

Boy was I wrong. I had not read book 1 in the series, so I did not have the back story. Although this can be read as a standalone, I would say it probably would help fill gaps. You might be just like me though awesome and able to do that without the previous book.

Anyway, there is multiple POV and each offer something a little more adding to the overall picture of this tale. Finally the pieces fall into place and voila all is revealed.

Its quite the intricate plot and has many points of heightened suspense. Its not your atypical guy meets girl, they struggle with their fears and feelings and all's well that end's well. Nope peeps, its a sit on the end of your seat gripping your kindle kind of read. I loved it all !!!.Plus just for those faint hearted like me *cough* all does end well for these two xxx

Well worth an read and a big well done to MK for providing a gorgeous love story with plenty of wow factors !!.

Many thanks for this opportunity x

Later peeps xx

I loved this book. I have become a fan of MK Harkins. She captures me with her characters. I was impressed with her ability to make us love Tiffany so much after book 1, Breaking Braydon. The storyline with Angela was just as enjoyable.

I highly recommend. Lovable characters, surprising plot twists and smoldering chemistry all make Taking Tiffany a must read.

This was a good stand alone book. I didn't even realise it was a sequel to Breaking Braydon until the end where the authors notes are. I did see the phrase Breaking Braydon a few time in the book but I thought it was in a reference to a TV show similar to The Bachelor.... Anyhow, it was a good love story, and mystery in one. I enjoyed it very much.

I really enjoyed this!

This was a great spin off. The character development really worked. It could have been a stand alone. The chemistry was great!

Taking Tiffany is the second book in the Breaking and Taking Series by MK Harkins. I was really looking forward to this book after reading the first book in the series, Breaking Braydon! This could be read as a standalone book but the characters from book 1 are featured quite a lot so I think that this one would be enjoyed even more if you have read the previous one. The book is really well written and I loved that there were two storylines running at the same time, it wasn’t confusing to read and they were connected to each other so they made sense. It was also written from multiple POV’s which is my favourite writing style! I love to hear what all the different characters are thinking and feeling. I particularly liked the chapters from the ‘enemy’ as I just couldn’t guess who it was! It was great that their identity was kept quiet until the end!
The story is mainly about Tiffany and Todd. Tiffany Thompson seems to have it all, except for love that is! Guarded since her high school boyfriends betrayal, she wouldn’t recognise real love if it hit her over the head. Unless it’s a can of paint and successful financier Todd Jameson is behind it!
Todd fell hard and fast for Tiffany a year ago but after a college sweetheart shattered his heart he is unwilling to risk it again so he keeps his distance. Fate however has other plans and changes both of their minds. Unfortunately not everyone is happy with their budding romance and waiting in the shadows is a vengeful enemy who place to take Tiffany away.
Halfway around the world Angela Bartholomew, a former foe in Tiffany’s social circle, is serving a year-long sentence as a volunteer in a Romanian orphanage in payment for her lying and manipulative ways. She is determined to get home at all costs but fate has plans for her too and Angela is not prepared for how her life will change.
Three lives are going to change but will love conquer heartbreak or will greed and revenge ruin them all?
I loved Tiffany and Todd together! They were both afraid of the same thing after being hurt by their previous relationships. Their story had a kind of friends to lovers feel about it as they have both been secretly fighting their attraction to each other for over a year whilst being friends. I know I was definitely rooting for them to have their happily ever after!
I was really interested to read Angela’s story and for those who haven’t read Breaking Braydon she features a lot in that book and did some pretty awful things so this book features on her punishment. I already knew I didn’t really like her and was looking forward to seeing if this story changed my mind about her! We did get to see a different side to her in this story and I think I was able to understand her actions a little bit more! I’m glad that the author included her in this story and I’m definitely hoping that she carries on and writes Stefan’s story!!

Taking Tiffany by MK Harkins is just another book by an amazing author that truly shows us readers her amazing talent. She gave us a story about to people that have such damaged hearts and pasts and wants to give them the last chance at finding love. But this again like her other book I have read, so much more than a love story. She gave us lies, mystery, and added in two people that needed and wanted each other to complete another amazing book. One thing I have noticed about this author is her ability to know when the readers need some humor and makes me giggle outload.
Tiffany has it all being a young socialite but what she does not have is love, being that her heart was broken at a young age by a boyfriend, then she meets financier Todd Jameson. Todd fell for Tiffany right when he might her, but he too had his heartbroken and isn’t sure taking a risk is worth it. But finally when they both decide to take the risk with each other they learn that not everyone is happy with the romance between them. Someone doesn’t like that Todd is in the way with Tiffany.
What I liked about this book is a third character was introduced to us a third main character, Angela. She used to the enemy in Tiffany’s group of friends, Due to her evil ways she was sent to work in an orphanage half way around the world. She wants to get home so badly but fate decided to show her just how much her life can and will change.

I truly again was able to get lost in this book just as I was the Breaking Braydon, where Tiffany and Todd were introduced and loved being able to read about them was amazing. At first I did not like Angela but she really did grow on me. I love the talent of this author with her writing style and her words just draw you into the story. I again give this book 5 stars! Thank you again for another amazing read!

Taking Tiffany by M.K. Harkins
5 stars

This book can be read as a stand alone, but includes characters and gives a follow up from Breaking Braydon. This book keeps you engaged every page you turn. There are several stories getting juggled at once that all intertwine. MK Hawkins does a seamless job of transitioning the different POV’s and storylines.

This story has jealousy, regret, forgiveness, loyalty, love, friendship, revenge, acceptance, redemption and so much more….hang on for an incredible ride of emotions.

Tiffany was betrayed by Fletcher back in high school and has guarded her heart ever since. Her friends and parents want to see her happy and in love, but she just throws herself into work. She's had her eye on someone for the past year, but is sure he has zero interest in her.

Todd had been jilted by love four years ago and still hasn't been able to move past the betrayal. He thought he had it all until Savannah chose her families money over being married to him. Now that he is successful he still is afraid that money is what women are after and not him. Anytime he thinks about Tiffany and possibilities of a future of happiness he has a painful reminder of Savannah and shuts down his emotions so she won't see his interest.

While Tiffany and Todd dance around their feelings (that they think they are hiding from everyone else) ...someone is in the shadows who wants to keep them apart. Will Tiffany and Todd break each other's walls down and give love a chance? Will outside forces keep them apart and take their chance of happiness away? Is their fate love or will revenge win?

“Nothing would stop him. Twenty million dollars wasn’t the only reason he’d taken this job, although it would be put to good use. Something much more powerful motivated him. Revenge.”

Taking Tiffany is a standalone but is spinoff to Breaking Braydon. I have had M.K. Harkins books on my kindle for a while but this is the first one I actually sat down and to read and of course I manage to read the last one instead of the first. I will be fixing that and reading the others I already have soon.

Tiffany Thompson is a twenty-eight-year-old socialite who acts like anything but a socialite. She works part time as a social worker and works for a charity that assists people and families dealing with ALS. She is a genuinely nice and caring person but someone wants to kidnap her for revenge.

Todd Jameson works with Braydon and has been smitten by Tiffany since he met her, but after getting his heart crushed by his first love Savannah over money he isn’t willing to try and pursue Tiffany. He still watches her when she isn’t looking and hopes no one has noticed. Tiffany thought attracted to him, keeps trying to set Todd up with her friends and tonight is no different. She introduces him to an old high school friend Monica who ends up being nothing like the other girls but just to mess with Tiffany he goes to dance with Monica. Feelings are hurt and Colin points out her interest in Todd to her.

Tiffany runs into her ex-boyfriend Fletcher while trying to assist Braydon during the auction. Todd overhears the conversation and being the gentleman steps in to help Tiffany and they end up in a kiss and unable to deny their feelings for one another.

I thoroughly enjoyed this entire book. I do wish I had read Breaking Braydon first but so enjoyed getting to know each of these characters. I cannot wait to go back and read her other books. This is an author I will be putting on the top of my list from now on.

Tiffany Tiffany sweet funny innocent good hearted Tiffany. As much as I love this character someone in her world does not. There’s a plan brewing to kidnap her, hence the name of the book, Taking Tiffany. This story is quite an adventure. Tiffany doesn’t trust easily, especially men. Dating isn’t something she looks forward to so she doesn’t take any risks when it comes to dating. Tiffany is looking for a kind of love her parents have, something “spectacular”. Her best friends, Colin, Jain, and Braydon, of course want only the best for her. After a disappointing breakup in high school, Tiffany continues to protect her heart. Until she meets Todd. Todd is a co worker and has been watching Tiffany for a year, slowing falling for her. But because his heart was crushed years ago he too wants to protect it. Remember that plot to kidnap Tiffany? When Todd and Tiffany decide to date the kidnapper isn’t happy. Will they discover the plot before it’s too late? While this is happening, Tiffany’s former friend Angela is forced to volunteer in an orphanage in Romania. Not the usual high society party and life that Angela is use to. She’s ready to seek revenge and escape her “punishment” but plans change when love enters the picture.
I loved the plot twists in this story. Just when I thought I knew who was the “bad guy” something would happen to change my mind and make me accuse someone else. There’s adventure, mystery and romance, as well as greed and drama.
While this story is a standalone it does contain characters from Breaking Braydon. I am looking forward to reading that story as well as others by Harkins. Harkins added a note about an upcoming story that I really hope she’s working on! Definitely recommend this story and author!

Taking Tiffany – By M K Harkins – 5 Stars
This book is the second one in this series and although it could be read as a standalone, I would definitely recommend reading “Breaking Braydon” prior so that you get some background to Who the characters are in this book.
Tiffany Thompson comes from a wealthy family and as such attracts all the glitter and glamour this entails. However, after being betrayed by her High School boyfriend, she is finding it difficult to trust and open herself up to love again. But nobody told her that her feelings growing towards Todd over the past year would leave her falling for him.
Todd is Braydon’s best friend and business partner, after being left heartbroken by his first love, he avoids the wealthy and keeps his heart protected. Tiffany, is everywhere he looks and goes and his feelings seems to be growing every day.
After volunteering to help his friend’s wife, Jain, he literally ends up in a tangled green mess with Tiffany and neither of them can deny their feelings any longer.
A second story is enveloped within the relationship of Todd and Tiffany as you get the background of what is happening with Angela after the end of book one. She is serving a yearlong sentence in a Romanian Orphanage in order to pay for her lying and manipulative ways.
All is not as it seems as the story transpires and will the love between Todd and Tiffany finally grow or will others ruin it before it can develop.
Another fantastic read by MK Harkins, I love the twists within this story and how all the characters are so entwined with each other that you feel they are all part of a larger family.
