I recently discovered this author a few months back and read her Hell Yeah series, well most of them any way, still have to read a few more ,but I decided to take a little break and continue on later. After reading her books,I became a fan, loved her stories and enjoyed both her heros and heroines. Her characters all seem to have some sort of illiness or disability ,angst associated with them ,and some heart tugging moments. There is humor and passion,I love that as a reader.
So this story is no different with the above mentioned elements. This was a first for a hero for me.He was a champion MMA fighter,a veteran of the war and now a member of the elite team, the Equalizers,a badass tattooed sailor ,and the best yet,a treasure hunter!Have I mentioned he is handsome and huge,in more ways than one :)
The heroine, loved her and felt sorry for her with her medical condition.
Long story short.Heroine and her bff are crusading reporters having just graduating from uni.The bff is embroiled in exposing a drug cartel in Mexico and is lured and captured when she went to her homeland. The heroine,Sami, recieves a flashdrive from the bff and she goes in search of her friend. It just so happens that is the same town where a medical clinic that does alternative medicine is located, her bff had gotten an appt for the heroine for tx's otherwise the heroine will die.
While the h is receiving tx,she works in a bar near the docks disguised as a boy,she wants to get info on the cartel and ave her friend.Earlier she had witnessed a murder and was afraid they would find her.One night,in walks the hero, the man of her dreams, one that she has been fantasizing about for years but she is dressed like a boy.She had found out that he was in town for a MMA fight.
Eventually, she is found out by the cartel killers and escapes and stows aboard the hero's boat.
From then on the story steams ahead ,hero finds out that the young man is really a young woman and the adventure begins. There is passion galore, romance, guns, bad guys, attempted kidnapping, and treasure to be found.
I really enjoyed this one, started a bit slow ,H/h did not meet till after 100 pages or so,but was needed to really tell the story.
So happy that this couple found their hea and her cancer( brain) was in remission and no where to be found.
Looking forward to the other Equalizers stories.

Loved it!!!

Loved Jet and Sami together, but a few little things got on my nerves a bit... 1st Jet is a self described whore/slut at the beginning of the book ( I dislike the term "man whore" per say Coz why isn't a whore a whore ? You know like the saying " let's call a spade a spade" I mean shouldn't we just call something what it is? And is we call women who like to sleep around and be promiscuous a whore or a slut why can't we just call a man just a whore or a slut ? Being a man shouldn't change that) ( I'm soo sick of the feeling that we can sleep with or love or marry anyone we please but a woman is still supposed to be "pure" or close to it and a man is "supposed" have a slut like behavior and is only called a " man whore" is he's excessive by the slutty standards men go by... ;( Why the lil rant ? Well even thou Jet's a slut I don't wanna read about especially I DON'T want any details .... I only wanna read about him and his heroine not him and some slut he gets tot her with 5 chapters before he meets the h... No Thanks!
I also didn't like how they didn't even get to meet for 5 chapter almost 6 chapters or jet took to almost the very end of the book to FINALLY admit to himself he loved Sami and couldn't be without her.... Or the whole mentality how it's s emus you either had good girls or sluts in the world that was not in between ....
And while I adored Sami it felt odd how this sheltered sickly woman could be minute braving a foreign country to get help to battle her cancer and the next seeing someone in broad daylight be murex in cold blood, taunt drug dealers in a blog while going daily for treatments, work in a sleazy dive bar pretending to be a boy, help defend Jet knocking out a massive bully with a huge bottle of wine and then be the uber humble almost pushover with Jet when alone with him ?
Ok I she was deeply in love with him,but either she has a back bone or not ,and this overly humble I almost don't deserve to be loved thing got on my nerves at times...
Though all my complaint a side I did really enjoy the book and I will read more .. I look forward to Micah's story ( I love to see him with the Domme ;) ) but who ever she I'd like it to be a woman of Spirit who give him the run for his money he deserves!
Not another sweet EASY virgin ;(

Great story! Although I almost gave up this book when H and h still hadn't meet at 22% of it, I was glad I keep on reading. One thing I loved Sable Hunter's books was I often felt for her heroines, and I deeply felt for Semi's situation.

Alpha-male, No cheating, no jerk hero, and a lot hot scenes, what's not to like?

Loved Sable Hunter's Hell Yeah! Series!

This is the second book in the Equalizer series by Sable Hunter. It was awesome. This story is about Jet, our resident sailor and treasure hunter and Sami, a young lady with cancer disguising as a man. I love the way the story developed for both of them but I especially loved the part where Jet is questioning himself about his attraction to Sam the bartender and then surprise. Can't wait to find out what happens at Sami's next doctor appointment. I have a feeling (pitter patter). I wonder who the Jaguar is? Get this book and enjoy the voyage.

As always an exciting, action packed series with hot alpha men
and strong female lead.
This is different from some of the others in the series.
We see Sami in great depth before she meets Jet.
Her strength of character shines through the book.
I loved this couple, and what a wonderful adventure.
I always love Sable and Ryan's books, but this one is special.

Jet Foster is a man of many talents -- Special Forces, an Equalizer, a motorcycle riding MMA fighter-- and part pirate.
He has just christened his boat "Sirena" and is ready to set sail looking for a treasure. Before going on his treasure quest he settles a fight with a challenger once and for all.

Jet has always been a man who controls his own destiny. That is until he walks into a club in Veracruz and meets Sami, the shy bartender, who he assumes is a boy.

Samantha Cabot has two reasons for being in Veracruz -- her health and finding out what happened to her best friend. When a fight breaks out at the club Sami realizes her life is in jeopardy and flees looking for a safe place to hide. That place just happens to be on Jet's boat as a stowaway.

Imagine Jet's surprise when he discovers that Sami is not a boy. He has always had a superstition about women on board a boat. This sea voyage will become one steamy adventure with some danger thrown in for good measure. They both find treasures unimagined.

Once again, Sable and Ryan have written one heck of a story. It is full of mystery, intrigue, adventure and love. Jet knows there is something about the young boy in the bar that draws him in. When Jet finds him on the boat, he could have taken him back. He finds out the mystery, Sami is a woman. Now the adventure begins.
I have read the whole Hell Yeah series before. Each time I read them, I figure out I missed something the first time. They just get better each time I read them.

The irresistible force meets an immovable object. In this case, the force is a small and mighty woman, and the object is a large MMA champion who never met a woman he couldn't walk away from. Jet is one of the Equalizers, a military vet and treasure hunter who loves and leaves scads of willing women. Samantha is the only child of a wealthy couple and has more than money to concerned her. This improbable couple is on a collision course and every minute is dangerous for multiple reasons.

What a Great installment of the Hell Yeah - Equalizer Series.

We find out that Samantha Miguel is in Mexico is a Bar tender in a very dangerous town.

A few things come to mind with that statement,
1) Samantha is under cover as a “boy” named Sam;
2) She is in this Drug Cartel town to find her best friend Marisol, who has gone missing after she left Houston and came here since her mother was killed and now her best friend is missing and she is determined to find her;
3) Sam has brain tumor that is cancerous and there is an alternative treatment clinic in this town and she is going for the hail Mary because if this doesn’t work, she will be dying soon.

To say that Sam’s life is a little complicated is an understatement. In the mean time, we are reintroduced to Jet Foster, one of the Equalizers and treasure hunter. We met Jet and several other Equalizers in a couple books in Hell Yeah and of course the last book (13) about Kyle Chancellor and his team that were all Seals and now Kyle is the Governor of Texas and he and Hannah now have a baby. We get caught up on the McCoy’s, specifically Isaac and other Equalizers members.

The background on both characters was great. No one fell into bed and declared love in 4 chapters. In fact the book went back and forth between what was happening to Sam and then switch to what was going on with Jet until about 40+% and finally Sam and Jet meet. This time allowed Ms. Hunter to develop the characters in a lot of details and when they did meet, you felt like you knew both of them and their backgrounds.

When Jet meets Sam, he thinks she is a boy, but somehow was drawn to her and sad because the patrons of the bar were not kind to her/him. As time goes on, and a fight breaks out in the bar and a Cartel member intends on kidnapping Sam and kill her, she slips away and stows away on Jet’s Ship.

Jet is not aware of his stowaway until the next day and Jet and his father have one rule, NO WOMEN allowed on a ship during a project –EVER. After all, Jet’s mother left his father and him and never looked back. So, does Jet go to the first port and drop her off, or does he take her on to Florida to meet his father and other Treasurer Hunters for this mission off the coast of Florida

When Jet finally figures out that Sam is not a boy but a beautiful woman, the attraction is just too strong. Sam keeps the knowledge that she has cancer and decides that since she does not know if the alternative sessions worked, she will just live in the moment. She decided that when she got to Florida they would both go on their seperate ways and never see each other again.

Make sure you read this book and find out what happens when the Drug Cartel follows them, wants to kidnap Sam and steal the treasure that they have found.

During their journey they find out that the passion they both feel is the first for both of them. Of course, with Sam’s illness, she was still a virgin, so now the bar is set really high for any man after Jet. Find out what happens with Sam and Jet and their dangerous journey.

What a fantastic addition to the Hell Yeah!-Equalizers series. Sable Hunter and Ryan O'Leary have once again written a book with a great plot, smoking hot sex scenes, and lovable characters. The hero and heroine did not immediately meet, instead the writers gave us their back-story. For me this amped up the anticipation of their first meeting. Oh, what a meeting that was, with Jet thinking that Sami, was a boy, and Sami's reaction to Jet, all witnessed by Micah, priceless.
Jet is a strong, sexy as sin, alpha male, who lives by his own rules, and is not afraid of anything or anybody. Sami, despite her reasons for being in Mexico, is a sassy, feisty, petite female, that gives as good as she gets. When fleeing from trouble, she ends up on Jet's boat as a stowaway, and he is not really happy when he finds her there, still thinking she is a boy. Just imagine his surprise when he finally realizes she is female, and that he will have to break one of his own precious rules, because he just can't throw her overboard. They still have to bring up treasure from a sunken ship, so the trip is just beginning.
This book is loaded with suspense, action, romance. I laughed out loud, and even shed a few tears. As always, Sable gave us a glimpse of the McCoys, in this book, which I always love, and she even let us get to know more about some of the other Equalizers, and that was exciting. Cannot wait to read more about them. Loved Sami's friend Marisol, and since I am a cat lover, Polly was a great addition to this book. If you love Sable Hunter, like I do, then you know that this is a must read. If you have not read any of Sable's books, then I highly recommend that you do, you want know what you are missing if you don't give them a try.

'One Man's Treasure' (Hell Yeah: Equalizers) by Sable Hunter & Ryan O'Leary is an amazing read. In this book we get to hear Jet's story. This book is packed full of action, suspense, romance, humor, adventure. I absolutely loved getting to know more about Jet. Meeting Samantha (Sami, Sami Jo, Sam), Marisol, Nemo, and Victor. Getting to catch up with Kyle, Hannah, Micah, Destry, Saxon, Tyson, and Issac. This is a great addition to the Hell Yeah and Equalizer's series. This story had me cracking up laughing, on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next, teary eyed a few times, and sighing. Jet and Sami's story is a must read! Highly recommend to all fans of romance, action, suspense, adventure. I'm anxiously awaiting the next book in this wonderful series! Another awesome story from Sable Hunter and Ryan O'Leary.

Anyone loving alpha males, (lots within and friends of the equalisers) strong, damaged females, all winning against the odds, will love this book/series. Sable Hunter and Ryan O'leary have a skill, a way of drawing the reader into the story, helping them lose themselves. You'll laugh, shout, gasp, argh (the saucy scenes are HOT) and even cry through this story, couldn't ask for anymore, a brilliantly written, enthralling, unputdownable read. Couldn't give more stars, or recommend highly enough. My go to author, automatically purchase, no blurb necessary, the books are that good!!!

This book is a Treasure!

Romance., sex, action, mystery! Hidden Treasure, Mexican drug cartels, sail boats and adventure on the high seas. We gals know that when Sable and Ryan tell a story that it will deliver beyond very high expectations, it's one that even guys will not put it down. My suggestion once you read it, to show him how good Sable and Ryan are as a team, offer your better half cash to read it.

When in the mood for sexy-hot romance, I can always count on Sable Hunter. This book met all my expectations. I love how she writes romance with swoon-worth alpha H's and their envy-inducing h's.

I have one criticism, though. This is the third author I've recently read who mis-used "calvary" when "cavalry" was the correct term.

Sable Hunter is by far and away the best writer of cowboy romance I've read. Every book in her Hell Yeah series is a must read. My only derogitory comment would be on the cover. I really don't like the look of that guy at all. He doesn't give me the vibe of the leading man at all.

The real treasure

Sami has admired Jet for a long time. He's given her the fight to battle cancer even though they haven't met. When she gets into trouble she accidentally stows away on his boat. He has to figure out if she's the real treasure he's been hunting or just a bad omen.
