You know what I wasn't expecting from a mafia romance?
To spend more time watching the mafia communicate than commit crimes.
This book was basically: 10% mafia. 90% emotional vulnerability. 100% Pietro Benetti yearning over the woman who completely ruined his entire routine by sitting at his favourite library table.
I ate this up, flaws and all. It was easy to binge, surprisingly comforting and exactly the palate cleanser I needed. I just couldn't shake the feeling that somewhere along the way the romance became so focused on explaining its themes that it forgot some of its most interesting storylines.
What worked for me (aka: Why I overlooked a suspicious amount of nonsense)
A romance built on choice, not possession
This book had one central theme and for the most part, it committed to it beautifully: choice.
For all the possessive looks, mafia power and "touch her and die" energy, Pietro consistently gave Emily agency. He asked instead of assumed. He waited instead of pushed. Every major step in their relationship happened because she chose it and after learning about her past, that made every emotional milestone feel genuinely earned.
One of my favourite aspects of their relationship was that consent wasn't treated like a single moment. It became the language of their relationship. Whether it was emotional vulnerability, physical intimacy or difficult conversations, both of them continually gave the other room to choose.
It's something I don't see explored nearly enough in romance and I honestly loved it.
Yearning: mastered. Decision-making: questionable
Pietro spent the first chapter trying to convince himself Emily was disrupting his routine.
Reader, she became the routine.
He's thoughtful, observant, quietly funny and completely, hopelessly gone for Emily almost from the moment they meet. His love language is paying attention. He remembers her favourite flowers, surprises her with a capybara mug after one passing comment and understands that sometimes the most romantic thing he can do is simply stand beside her instead of trying to fix her.
Respectfully...I folded faster than Emily.
The disability representation also felt respectful. I appreciated that his cerebral palsy shaped who he was without becoming his entire personality or something the book constantly used for emotional manipulation. I only wish that thread had remained as prominent throughout the story because it felt like there was even more to explore.
Agency: protected. Boundaries: enforced
Emily was fantastic. I loved that falling in love never meant abandoning herself.
She communicated clearly. She set boundaries. She demanded honesty. And when Pietro spectacularly ignored the biggest promise he'd made her, she called him out exactly the way I hoped she would.
Most importantly, she refused to let love become an excuse for surrendering her agency. Honestly, she had more emotional backbone than half the mafia men combined
Where it lost me (aka: The Benettis accidentally opened a counselling practice)
Beautiful themes. Heavy repetition
The biggest issue for me was pacing.
Once Pietro and Emily admitted they loved each other, it felt like the story started circling the same emotional conflict instead of moving it forward.
Apparently every member of the Benetti family moonlights as a relationship counsellor.
Everyone had advice. Literally everyone.
At one point I was fully expecting 10 year old Victoria to wheel in a whiteboard and facilitate the next intervention.
The themes themselves were fantastic. The problem was that the book kept explaining them. Again. And again. The communication remained excellent but after a while it became a lot more telling than showing, and I found myself wishing the story trusted its characters - and its readers - a little more.
So much potential...left on the table
Early on, I thought the shared academic thread was going to become one of the book's strongest features.
Their meet-cute over history books, Emily's PhD, the parallels between her thesis and the relationship and Pietro's cerebral palsy all felt like they were setting up something really rich.
Unfortunately, once the romance settled in, many of those threads quietly faded into the background.
None of them were handled badly - they just weren't explored as deeply as I hoped. It almost felt like the romance became so strong that the book quietly forgot about the other really interesting storylines it had introduced.
Third-act breakup: The flop era
I actually liked the breakup itself.
Emily's reaction was exactly what I wanted. She recognised that Pietro wasn't becoming her ex but he was making the exact same mistake: deciding what was best for her without allowing her to choose for herself.
I understood the assignment.
The book kept handing it back to me for revisions.
Instead of trusting that emotional conflict to speak for itself, the story kept revisiting it through multiple conversations until the eventual reconciliation arrived in a way that felt a little too convenient for my taste. By the end I'd gone from "Go get your girl!" to "...respectfully, can someone lock Pietro in a room until he finishes processing?"
Final thoughts
Ruthless Heir isn't trying to reinvent the mafia romance wheel and honestly, I don't think it needs to.
It's softer than most books in the genre. More interested in emotional safety than violence. More interested in communication than manufactured misunderstandings. More interested in healing than high-stakes action.
Sometimes that worked beautifully.
Sometimes it became repetitive.
I genuinely loved spending time with Pietro and Emily and they're the reason this lands above a 3-star read for me. Every time I started getting frustrated with the pacing, Pietro and Emily reminded me why I was still rooting for them.
The emotional foundation was already there. It didn't need quite so much repetition to make its point.
Final verdict
A bingeable, character-driven mafia romance that proves healthy communication can be just as compelling as mafia drama...it just needed to trust its readers as much as its characters trusted each other.
Moral of the story: a book doesn't have to be perfect to be exactly what you needed.
Tropes and Vibes: • Mafia romance (light on the mafia, heavy on the romance) • Second-generation romance • Devoted, obsessed hero • Emotional safety • Disability representation (MMC with cerebral palsy) • "Touch her and die" energy • Rich man problems (featuring private planes and emergency pizza) • Found family vibes • Healthy communication • Boundaries, consent & agency • Character-driven over plot-driven • Low angst • Easy binge read • Library meet-cute • Comfort read with mafia seasoning

Pre-read:
Alessandro and Lilly raised this man...so I expect greatness. Second-gen romances either absolutely slap or leave me missing the parents 😭 Pietro....don't let second-gen syndrome humble you 🤞🏼✨️
Justo finalizando julio me estaba acordando de esta autora y me preguntaba cuándo sacaría una nueva historia. Creo que la llamé con el pensamiento, pronto les contaré más.
Such an excellent way to get you deeply engaged and yearning for more of this new series. I loved that the author hit all the check boxes, created characters that were easy to care about and left me whole heartedly engaging in a major swoon fest.
Just when I thought I couldn’t love one of RG Angel books more, she gives us an amazing second generation mafia romance that delivers on tension, emotion & chemistry that crackles from page one.
If you've read RH Angels Cosa Nostra or Syndicates books, this one is definitely for you. You don’t need to read the other books first as we get to see familiar faces throughout this one, which was an added bonus for me!
Pietro Benetti, heir to the Chicago outfit has been brought up to respect women. Most fathers in their world weren’t soft, didn’t demonstrate their love or kindness. Men in their world thought love softened boys, made them careless, weak, too easily manipulated.
Pietro has been surrounded by love his whole life. His family made him the man he is today. A strong man. A mafia man.
Pietro would officially become his father’s sotto capo, once he finished his degree. An obligation that he was born into. A life that goes far beyond the tailored suits, but one of secrets, bloodshed, a life of sacrifice & carefully constructed ways to keep the darkness from family dinners, beautiful homes & love. From his actual life & family. One that he needs to make peace with.
Alessandro instilled love, taught him that mafia men were nothing without the women by their side. His mother is the centre of his father’s world.
Routine mattered for, Pietro he craved control over everything, it made things easier, especially on days that his body reminded him otherwise due to his disability. Being raised in the outfit, his future was written in blood & legacy: finish his degree and become his father's sotto. Strategy & planning was imperative to his survival. He’d been raised to be merciless & lethal. To anticipate weakness. The first time he 💀 a man, he wasn’t in the slightest bit nervous, his pulse wasn’t elevated, his hand had been steady. He knew this was the life he was born into.
Emily Hart, is deeply unhappy in Seattle, she’s in a very unhealthy relationship, hiding bruises, feeling downtrodden. It takes immense courage but she realises things aren't going to change if she doesn't change something. She flees Seattle to gain her PhD at Hawthorne university, Boston Taking her own life back. Feeling more empowered she changed her surname & reinvented herself to become more confident, a fierce woman.
She swore off men. That was until she met Pietro in the library. The spark she felt was instantaneous. As their friendship/relationship began to grow it was apparent that he was good for her. Pietro encouraged her to be herself. He respected her, made her feel equal in every way that mattered.
He’s so patient, devoted & determined to make her feel safe, cherished & listened to.
Unaware that Pietro was the son of a mafia capo.
Danger hides in the shadows, the world that Pietro has introduced her to, threats to her safety are very real. He believes that if he loves her carefully enough he can protect her. He underestimates her ability to make her own decisions & choices. Which causes some conflict threatening their relationship.
The Benetti family have welcomed Emily into their world. Offered her a choice to step inside with full knowledge, she wasn't surrendering or disappearing into his world. She was choosing this life with her eyes wide open, choosing him, choosing the family that had made her happy without asking her to become smaller first.
I Ioved seeing how Pietro & Emily evolve together & how they navigate their way through complications, conflicting circumstances
I genuinely couldn't find any flaws in this book & thoroughly enjoyed it from beginning to end! The chapters are short & fast-paced, making it a great read if you enjoy a combination of dark romance, suspense with an obsessively morally grey lead then you’ll devour Ruthless Heir. A definite top read of mine for ‘26 🖤 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Trope: Next gen Angst: 😱😱😱😱 Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥
This book was everything I was hoping it would be. I am a huge fan of the original series, But you're never really sure how the next gen books are going to go and this one did not let me down. It was pretty angsty with characters you couldn't help but fall in love with. I loved seeing all of our favorite old characters, but they weren't so involved that they overwhelmed the story. I loved all the witty dialogue. I can't wait to see who gets their book next!
RUTHLESS HEIR is the first instalment in RG Angel’s contemporary, new adult STIRPE erotic, Mafia romance series, a next generation series set in the author’s THE SYNDICATES and the COSA NOSTRA worlds. This is heir to the Benetti Crime Family, twenty-three year old ,university student Pietro Benetti, and twenty-five year old university student and TA Emily Hart’s story line. For followers of RG Angel, Pietro is the son of Alessandro and Lily Benetti (HER HEARTLESS SAVIOR 2)
NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Pietro and Emily) RUTHLESS HEIR follows the building romance and relationship between our story line couple. Pietro Benetti doesn’t do relationships but something about Emily Hart draws Pietro like a moth to a flame. Pietro’s legacy and future is set in stone but his attraction to someone outside of their world, is troubling for our story line hero. Emily Hart is a strong-willed heroine who is determined to prove Pietro is worthy of love but when Emily is targeted, Pietro struggles with the possibility of losing the woman with whom he has fallen in love.
The world building focuses on the threats to the Benetti family, as well as the threats to our story line heroine but Pietro will quickly discover a darker connection to the past, a past that refuses to let go. Pietro often finds himself called back home to deal with threats, as his father prepares our hero to take control.
The relationship between Pietro and Emily is one of immediate attraction but Pietro battles between head and heart, refusing to acknowledge his attraction to our story line heroine. Love in the world of organized crime is seen as a weakness, and Pietro already has one weakness that threatens his ascension into power. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
The colorful and familiar secondary and supporting characters include several of whom crossover from the author’s interconnected series including Matteo and Elena Genovese (Cruel King / Cosa Nostra), Alessandro and Lily (Her Heartless Savior), and Pietro’s sister Victoria, Hoka and Violet (Her Ruthless Warrior / The Syndicates 1) as well as Pietro’s right hand man Oliverio Moretti, Emily’s parent, her sister Sophie, Emily’s ex Adam, and several members of the Albanian mob.
RUTHLESS HEIR is a story of power and control, vengeance and retaliation, family and relationships, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is dramatic, edgy and ; the characters are animated, charismatic and determined; the romance is seductive and fiery.

Ruthless Heir is a second-generation mafia romance novel in which Pietro Benetti, heir to the Chicago Mafia, is about to become the Soto Capo, or underboss, to his father. He has always challenged Pietro but not in a negative way, he surrounded Pietro with love and taught him that when he found his special one, he should only ever give her the love she deserved.
Pietro is who he is because of the leaders in his life. He has followed them in so many ways, including in this situation, where he adores Emily Hart and will do anything to protect her.
Emily has a traumatic past and Pietro is determined to help her overcome it. He doesn’t override her choices, but he does see that he wasn’t allowing her to choose everything for herself. Of course, it was out of love, but wrong nevertheless. This is the protective nature of these men. I was truly taken aback by how insightful Pietro was and how he handled Emily. It wasn’t an easy task to be admitted to a mafia family.
I absolutely loved how this author didn’t shy away from the harder topics like Cerebral Palsy; she embraced them, and I felt she turned them into a positive experience for readers, as it should be. Detailing how carefully Pietro’s father, and the other mafia dons, came together to help while he was growing up. If you haven’t read the first-generation books, then I urge you to do so, you will be pleasantly surprised. It’s not an urgent requirement before reading this book but it does add a few little things.
It had been a while since this author released a book but it’s sure been worth the wait!
★★★★. Thank you so to the Author RG Angel for this ARC! I only trust a few authors with mafia romance and I have to say RG is one of them! Thank you for bringing awareness to Cerebral Palsy and writing it with delicacy. She continues to write a plot driven story with a building romance done properly! This review will contain the mildest spoilers so please read carefully! I absolutely loved the fact it was second generation and the author didn’t ruin any bonds between the parent and son. How she continued to show the love the father and mother have for the son.
Emily, my girl. She was so precious. I loved how she stood up for herself and knew her worth after what happened and was not allowing anyone ever again to speak for her. Her heart is so pure and her accepting Pietro and his lifestyle was done so well. Her relationship with the sister was my favorite. I love how RG didn’t side cast Emily’s trauma and focused on it.
Pietro, I loved him since his father’s book and now I love him more. He’s a real man who yearned for his woman and wasn’t afraid of leaving the mafia world for his woman! He was willing to leave everything and fight anyone who stood in his way. His backstory which we knew if you read his father’s book is so sad, but I loved seeing him still go to his family when in need.
For my safety readers, completely safe. Both aren’t virgins (I think). Pietro never says he’s been with other women yet I get the understanding he has been, but been a long time. No other woman drama. Some other man drama with Emily’s ex.
“I’m not promising you forever tonight,” I said. “I’m promising you honesty, and a real chance. That’s what I have.” When he opened his eyes again, something in his face had gone almost unbearably open. “For now,” he said, “that’s more than enough.”

I love second-generation books. At least when the first generation is still alive! And yes, they all are 😍
I still remember Pietro as a 10-year-old boy in his wheelchair. The small boy who was missing his dad so often... I won't say much more, because if you haven't read "Her Heartless Savior", you really should; it's his dad and mom's story 🥰 Oh, and actually, you should read the whole first generation. That means, first the "Cosa Nostra" series, and then the "The Syndicates" series. This way, you will get the full experience because you will meet a lot of the couples again. For example, his uncle Hoka.
OK, I actually should say things about Pietro and Emily, but I'm just so overwhelmed about all the previous characters 😎 But on the other hand, they made Pietro the man he is today. A strong man. A mafia man. But on the other hand, Alessandro showed him how to be a loving father and husband, too. And not to forget his uncle Hoka 🤣
Emily's a strong woman. She went through some 💩, but she managed her life. Still, the wounds are there, and it's not easy for her all the time 😟 And yes, that definitely is a huge problem between Pietro and her.
I'm so happy Pietro found his HEA 🩷
I have to confess I'm a bit afraid of Victoria, Pietro's little sister. She's such a feisty little girl, and she's only 10 🙈 OMG, she's Pietro's "age" 😱 But they really are so different. I hope there will be a book with her. I really need her. And I already know it will drive Alessandro crazy 🤣
Thanks to the author for trusting me with an ARC 🩷
It feels like forever since I last dived into an R.G. Angel romance, and I can honestly say it was worth every second of the wait. Even better, she’s kicking off a brand-new series! As soon as I discovered The Stripe Series was a second-generation Mafia romance, I knew I was in for something special—and R.G. Angel certainly didn’t disappoint.
Ruthless Heir is a gripping, emotional, and tension-filled start to the series that effortlessly draws you into a world where family loyalty, power, and love collide.
Pietro Benetti will steal your heart. He may walk with a cane, but don’t let that fool you. As the heir to one of the most powerful Mafia families, with his father still reigning as Don, Pietro has spent his life preparing for the future that awaits him. Strong, determined, and fiercely protective, he’s a hero you’ll be rooting for from the very beginning.
When he meets Emily at college, everything changes. Unlike everyone else around him, Emily has no idea who Pietro really is, and that’s exactly what captures his attention. But Emily has secrets of her own, and as their worlds begin to intertwine, the danger grows, the emotions deepen, and their undeniable chemistry ignites every page.
R.G. Angel perfectly balances suspense, romance, witty banter, and heartfelt emotion, creating characters you quickly become invested in. As the foundations of this new series are laid, you’re left wondering who can be trusted and eagerly anticipating what comes next.
What to Expect:
* 🖤 Second-generation Mafia romance * ❤️ College romance * 🔥 Sizzling chemistry * 🤍 Hidden secrets * 💥 Family loyalty and power struggles * 😍 Protective hero * 📚 The start of an exciting new series
Welcome back, R.G. Angel! You’ve reminded us exactly why we fell in love with your Mafia romances, and Ruthless Heir is the perfect beginning to what promises to be another unforgettable series. I can’t wait to see where The Stripe Series takes us next.
Ruthless Heir : A Second Generation Mafia Romance ( Stirpe Book 1 ) A Brand New Series that starts off with a bang !!! Oh my gosh guys just when I think I couldn’t love a R.G Angel book or series more than her previous ones . Well let me say I was so proven wrong . The darkness , the spice , the sexual tension, the second gen mafia trope , the love , the passion, the pain , the morally grey characters, the opposites attract vibes , the non stop action, the family , the friendships, the obstacles and the moments that will shatter your heart in pieces , keep you on the edge of your seat devouring every single word ,smiling, laughing, crying and cheering so freaking hard !! And somehow by the end all those pieces that were broken apart were somehow mended right back together again . Words cannot describe how captivated I found myself with Emily and Pietro . All the layers and complexities to their characters and in their relationship phew I could not get enough. The way both had flaws and challenges just like we all do . I loved how both had so much strength, I loved how both had secrets and a side that they only showed one another. Without giving anything away in regards to how it all plays out , I’m just going to say ( I really was just taken on the ride of my life and completely blown away in all the best ways .because R.G nailed it and delivered one of the best books I’ve read this year
Several years ago, when I finished the Cosa Nostra and The Syndicates series, I thought, “How I’d love to read the stories about the children and see my favorite characters together.” And that dream came true several years later. When I found out that R.G. Angel was going to release a second generation series, I went crazy, and I’d constantly check her profile just to see if she’d posted any updates about it. Reading this book fills me with excitement and nostalgia, because I got to see all my beloved characters again, and see that my little Pietro is now a full-fledged man. I really enjoyed Ruthless Heir and couldn’t put it down until the very end. I was expecting a dark romance, but I found a beautiful story that also knows how to play with the emotions and inner conflicts of its protagonists. There’s a lot of chemistry between Pietro and Emily. I liked how they resolve their differences, how they talk things out and reach a compromise or solution. Obviously, there are complications and separations, but that’s what adds spice to the story. Pietro and Emily aren’t perfect characters, and that’s precisely why it’s so interesting. The heroine has a strong personality, knows how to stand up for herself, and doesn’t let anyone make decisions for her. I finished the book feeling like I’d been on an emotional roller coaster and eager to keep reading this series and to get to know the other characters.
I have previously read the syndicates series as well as the corrupted dynasties series from the author, so to say I was eager would be an understatement. Pietro and Emily's story was unputdownable for many reasons, but mostly because how fast-paced it was.
Pietro is the heir of the Alessandro Benetti, and right after his degree, he plans to go back home to become the sotto capo. But as life would have it, he sees Emily, a PhD student, and he simply cannot look away. Emily was strong, fierce, and despite her trauma, willing to take a chance on Pietro. Their romance was so well-paced and the plot was great too. Both Pietro and Emily had their own mental physical obstacles, but they went through the hurdles and came out stronger. The entire older generation was there, and it was awesome. I also loved Sophie and everything we saw of her and i'd be remiss if I missed Olivero! All in all, a great read!
This second generation mafia series is starting out with explosives from every corner for me.
If you haven’t read the first-generation books, then I suggest that you start there first, you can totally read this as a stand alone but you will understand more background and details if you do so.
I love this author so much and for me, I read anything she writes but I love her mafia stories.
I loved how Pietros family opened their hearts to Emily. And I loved watching her lower her walls and trust in Pietro and his love.
Pietro has some issues and struggles in his life but I just see him getting stronger because of them, and he has such a great support system from him family.
And together Pietro and Emily just grew stronger, their chemistry was so amazing that I couldn’t outcross book down from start to finnish. They both made my heart bleed and blossom.. I highly recommend this one.
Emily and Pietro are probably the two most intellectual and intelligent main characters I’ve read in a long time. They’re witty, clever, funny and deep thinkers. They have interesting discussions about power, control, violence, money and family. And that’s all before Emily truly knows who Pietro is.
If you’ve read the books about Pietro’s parents, his uncle and other friends of his parents, you’ll be happy to know they make appearances in this book. The plot isn’t complex. They do break up several times, in the sense that they take time away from each other to process. Emily doesn’t know how to handle Pietro’s family and future. Pietro is confused about his feelings for Emily. They both have control issues but in different ways. It’s realistic and mature how they deal with it.
Of course there’s plenty of family drama and interference. Dual POV. No cheating. Some really hot scenes. Lovely HEA.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE ARC!! I was asked to leave a review without spoilers so I will definitely come back on this novel’s official release so I can give proper attention to some VERY beautiful lines in the novel!!!
I was VERY excited when this author announced she was writing another mafia novel. Not only this, but it would be the next generation!!!
Pietro and Emily have my entire heart. Pietro was the perfect and I mean this PERFECT choice to start this off.
I believe we got to see them briefly in the epilogue to Sandro’s book …?
Anyways, this book had everything!!
The romance and the pacing?
The sacrifice and the realization of what it meant for them to be together?
Also got to see some of my favorites ❤️
Can already tell that Sandro’s daughter and Matteo’s son is going to be my favorite!!!
I loved that this is a second generation mafia novel from the previous series focusing on Pietro. I loved the first series so much, this novel did not disappoint. I was excited to jump into this new series. It did not let me down. From the first chapter this novel grabbed hold of my attention and held on tight for the entire novel. I loved Pietro and Emily's story. Their chemistry was so so good! My heart hurt for Emily and all she had been thru in her past. I loved how Pietro was so patient and protective of Emily. I loved how his family opened their hearts to her. I loved watching Emily lower her defenses and walls and trust in Pietro and his love. Once I started reading I could not put this novel down. I stayed up most of the night reading but it was well worth losing sleep over. I loved it! I can hardly wait to see what this author has coming next. So so so good!
What I truly loved about this mafia romance by RG Angel is that the story is more focused on building the couple's relationship than mafia stuff. Not that it's ignored, but Ruthless Heir prioritized the emotion and intimacy than anything else - including the spice. That said, I hadn't read the first gen books in which this story takes place, but was still very able to enjoy and appreciate all the characters. I mean, so many of the elders and the things they teased makes me want to go back and read what I missed! If you like your romances angsty and emotionally rich, with low spice, Ruthless Heir is absolutely for you.
Thank you for gifting me an advanced reader copy. Review reflective of my personal opinions
Ruthless Heir by R.G. Angel is the story of Pietro and Emily. O.M.G!!! How could you NOT love these two totally mismatched people. They meet at the university library. She doesn’t take his stuff. She doesn’t care about his physical issues. But, she also doesn’t know the truth. That truth could drastically change her ideas about him.
Pietro is hopelessly unaware. He wants to be everything and ends up being nothing. But, danger lurks. Lives are shattered. Promises are broken. There is no redemption. Then there’s Emily. Strong, caring, and she comes with expectations. But, what happens when everything comes crashing down…Freaking LOVED everything about this story and these tragically flawed characters. These two shattered my heart!!!
I just love a second gen book and I have been desperately wanting Pietro's book since we met him as the cute little boy in his father's book. He loves so hard and i am there for it. He definitely gets hearts in his eyes for Emily as soon as they meet , they are just so adorable and sweet together , I just love them both. I'm keeping everything crossed we get more second gen books especially if we get to see all these hot Mafia dads In action. I loved seeing all the familiar faces again and it got me wanting to go right back to the start of the universe. I swooned throughout , you will not be disappointed if you read it.
Ruthless Heir completely wrecked me. Pietro is a different kind of dangerous—quietly savage, composed, and deadly accurate. He is lethal to the world, but the way he treats Emily—wanting her to feel chosen instead of owned—is pure, dark obsession done right. It is beautifully brutal and deliciously gritty. I couldn't look away from the pages if I tried. If you want a dark romance that actually has a soul plus a side of danger, prepare to get completely consumed.
Please read trigger and content warnings.
I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advanced copy.
This was SO freaking good! I loved these two. Pietro has had some struggles in his life but those in it made sure he was strong and capable. Emily had been through a lot as well and didn't realize how strong she was. Pietro made her even stronger. The way he loved her gave her a quiet confidence. It came out when needed. I tend to not like third act breakups, but this one was well done and for a pretty good reason. They both needed this growth. I absolutely loved their story from beginning to end.
I received a complimentary copy and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This is the first book ive read from this author. What got me hooked was the smart banter and intelligent dialogue especially when main characters were just getting to know each other. The mature way both parties spoke but still able to inject humor. I only hoped the characters were in their early 30s instead of being in their early 20s because at that age, they would still be teenagers. Thats just me though.
I might have to reread this book. Also will check out other books from the author.
4* Pietro knows what's expected of him when he finishes his exams. However meeting Emily is unexpected especially as she's sat at his place in the library. Emily is glad to be away from her past and is finally healing. Meeting Pietro is unexpected and exciting. He knows she's his but needs to prepare her. Someone isn't happy about the situation and trouble hits. I loved the characters and the storyline I definitely recommend reading it.
Pietro has his life all planned out. Finish his degree and then return home to be his father’s sotto. Only life doesn’t always go as planned. He didn’t know he’d meet Emily.
Emily isn’t part of mafia world but she soon becomes a huge part of his world.
Will she accept him for who he is? You will have to read to find out!
This next generation are just as intriguing as their predecessors. (Which I’m still catching up on reading) This story was a great introduction to this series. It had drama, a little action and fantastic characters.
R.G. Angel shook up the world of mafia romance with this book. Not only was this a second generation story but it was absolutely incredible. Pietro, born into a dangerous world meets Emily, who has escaped a hurtful life. Their connection is instant and full of passion. I loved how these two were able to see each other for what's beneath the surface. This was a wonderful story that I could not put down.
Neither character were what I expected. Both had their own issues. Emily was a lot stronger than most FMC in some mafia and wasn't sure about how she would fit into his life. His family was welcoming and his sister om goodness she was something else. A little hurricane and when was talking about marrying Nicolo and him being handsome I was cracking up. Like she was ten lol. Anyway she is a handful. Emily and Pietro were like magnets and really enjoyed the story
The banter and chemistry is so incredible. I loved Pietro from the moment he sat by her on her date with another man. He's so witty and charming. Emily is phenomenal. She is incredibly smart and has a quip for everything said to her. She fits beautifully with Pietro. I stayed up til 3 a.m. reading this. Then I added the physical copy to my delivery. It's a unique twist on mafia love. You need to read this!
