Requiem. A mythical kingdom whose people could grow wings, breathe fire, and rise as dragons. A kingdom all but forgotten. The Cured Temple now rules over the ashes of that fallen nation. Yet some still remember Requiem. Some still carry the magic inside them. For the first time in a hundred years, dragons take flight. For the first time, they cry out the forbidden name of their "Requiem! Requiem!" The paladins of the Cured Temple gather their armies. They take flight on the backs of firedrakes, mindless reptiles of the sky. They seek to slay the last dragons of Requiem . . . and to erase all memory of that ancient realm. The skies burn with war, with rage, and with dragonfire. The kingdom of Requiem is reborn. _______________ THE REQUIEM Dawn of Dragons Book 1: Requiem's Song Book 2: Requiem's Hope Book 3: Requiem's Prayer Song of Dragons Book 1: Blood of Requiem Book 2: Tears of Requiem Book 3: Light of Requiem Dragonlore Book 1: A Dawn of Dragonfire Book 2: A Day of Dragon Blood Book 3: A Night of Dragon Wings The Dragon War Book 1: A Legacy of Light Book 2: A Birthright of Blood Book 3: A Memory of Fire Requiem for Dragons Book 1: Dragons Lost Book 2: Dragons Reborn Book 3: Dragons Rising Flame of Requiem Book 1: Forged in Dragonfire Book 2: Crown of Dragonfire Book 3: Pillars of Dragonfire Dragonfire Rain Book 1: Blood of Dragons Book 2: Rage of Dragons Book 3: Flight of Dragons

Daniel Arenson is a bookworm, proud geek, and USA Today bestselling author of fantasy and science fiction. His novels have sold over a million copies. The Huffington Post has called his writing "full of soul." He's written over forty novels, most of them in five series:

EARTHRISE — They came from deep space. They came to destroy us. Against the alien onslaught, Earth stands alone. But we will fight. We will rise. We will win. Start reading with Earth Alone, the first novel in this military science fiction series.

REQUIEM — Welcome to Requiem, an ancient kingdom whose people can grow wings and scales, breathe fire, and take flight as dragons. Requiem is explored in six trilogies, which can be read in any order. If you're new to Requiem, you can start reading with Requiem's Song (you can download it for free). For fans of dark, gritty fantasy like A Game of Thrones.

MOTH — Discover Moth, a world torn between day and night—its one half drenched in eternal daylight, the other cloaked in endless darkness. For fans of classic fantasy worlds such as Middle Earth and Narnia. Start reading with Moth, the first novel in this epic fantasy saga.

ALIEN HUNTERS — Got trouble with aliens? Call the Alien Hunters. A group of scruffy mercenaries, they'll remove the pest for you. Low rates. No questions asked. Start reading with Alien Hunters, the first book in this space opera series. For fans of Star Wars, Firefly, and Guardians of the Galaxy.

KINGDOMS OF SAND — Enter a world of sand and splendor, a world where gladiators battle in the arena, where legionaries and barbarians fight for glory, and where empires rise and fall.

Book 19/75: Dragons Reborn (Requiem for Dragons #2) by Daniel Arenson. Still full of adventure, violence, sexual tension and intense storyline. But I was thoroughly disappointed at the amount of inconsistencies and typos. "anecdote" when he meant "antidote", mentioning the stillborn of a daughter only to let the character slip it was a son and the next page back to it being a daughter... And there was no timeline at all. No idea that months would pass between certain battles, it just felt like they never rested properly after being crazily wounded. These books feel like the fast food of the dragon lore fantasy genre. Easy to read, but about 3/4 through, I got irritated enough to write this review before finishing the book and to add that we GET it! The amount of times the colours of the dragons came up as they were fighting.... oof....

Note to the editor: one counters a poison with an antidote, not an anecdote. Please correct that for the next edition.

The novelty has worn off from book one. The characters are compelling, but don't develop much. It reads like some highly predictable YA fiction.

The supposedly terrifying firedrakes are more and more beginning to resemble the stormtroopers from Star Wars. They miss every opportunity and lose every battle. 'Six of us against a thousand firedrakes?- sure, let's go for it.'

I will read the third book just because I want to see how the story turns out, not because of any literary brilliance.

I read book 1 and gave it a reluctant 4 stars. I started on book 2 but by the time of the sea battle, it started to annoy me too much. It's the strategist in me who can't get past the idea of shape shifting, flying, fire spitting dragons who claim to be intellligent but are too stupid to think about strategy for a second before going to war.
I say "they" but ofcourse I mean the author. He didn't think this thru very much, did he...
Anyway, I left this sinking ship (pun intended). Not finishing it and not starting with book 3.

A fascinating world of were dragons. The plot and characterisation are good. However, the writing style rankles in places. I was surprised see the author is both prolific and prize-winning. To me it reads like a self published book from a keen amateur. Most notable was the obvious lack of proofreading/editing. I was thrown out of the story by autocorrect errors such as “how do we deal with a poison when the anecdote has been stolen.” Erm, surely that should be antidote? Disappointing.

The High Priestess and her daughter, Mercy (what a misnomer!) go on a rampant war against children born with the weredragon gene, "saving" them from a terrible fate. So they say. But there are those who refuse to be "purified", and they join forces against those who claim to fight on the side of the great Spirit. Beautifully written.
