Saving You is the kind of doctor romance that doesn’t gently invite you in — it grabs you by the scrubs, drags you down a fluorescent hallway, and says, “Sweetheart, we’re doing emotional triage today.” Stacy Sterling really woke up and chose medical chaos, romantic tension, and characters who are one bad shift away from screaming into a supply closet.
The leads?
Oh babe, they’re giving “I’m fine” energy, which we both know translates to “I’m barely holding it together and also I haven’t slept since 2019.” They’re trying to save patients, save each other, save themselves — and failing at all three in the most endearing, chaotic way possible. It’s like watching two exhausted koalas attempt to build IKEA furniture without instructions.
Their chemistry is warm and bruised and messy, the kind where you can tell they’re both carrying emotional baggage but also pretending it’s just a cute tote. Every time they almost communicate, the universe throws a medical emergency at them like, “Not today, babe.”
And the angst?

It’s lurking in the corner like a stressed‑out intern.
You’re reading along, vibing, and suddenly a chapter hits you with feelings so sharp you have to put the book down and stare at the wall like you’ve just been personally victimised.
Does the pacing wobble?
Absolutely.
Some scenes wander off like they’re looking for snacks.
Occasionally you want to grab a character by the shoulders and say, “Use your words, sweetheart, you’re a doctor, not a cryptic crossword.”
But the emotional payoff is worth it, and the romance lands with that warm, cosy glow that makes you smile at the page like you’ve just been handed a puppy.
It’s giving:
hospital chaos, emotional reinvention, two people trying to save everyone except themselves, and just enough drama to keep your heart rate uncomfortably high.
A chaotic, heartfelt 3.5–4 stars, because even with the wobbles, it’s engaging, sweet, and absolutely worth the read — especially if you enjoy yelling “STOP MAKING YOUR LIFE HARDER” at fictional medical professionals.

This book was published two weeks ago. It has one actual review and no book blurb. I haven't read this author but thought I'd try it. You know how we have read too many bad stories and cautiously approach a new author. Well, I am glad I did. This is a good story. This is a love story about second chances - his to reclaim his role as Harper's father, Sarah to step out of her sad story and reclaim her future. There's 0 'steam'; a few kisses; a 3rd act breakup but only because of a jarring plot twist.
I like a slow burn because it gives time for the characters to become real. This is a very nice story about family. Sarah is a trauma survivor who is working to reclaim what she lost. Connor also has a sad past with a complicated present life including a dead ex-wife and a custody battle. I'm not usually a fan of nanny stories but this one seemed right for their situations. Harper is a delightful 6-year old who brings life to the family.
I do have questions about the author though. All 7 books listed here were published in 2026. Only a couple of the early ones have reviews where readers questioned if they were AI written because the writing was so bad. I've decided if the writing is good, the story is good, I'm not going to question it. If AI can write this good, then we're all screwed. I will read an earlier one to check it out.

Connor is a very busy heart surgeon and a divorced widower. He’s put so much into his career, his wife divorced him and then she was killed in a car accident. He’s left with his daughter but he’s still too involved in his career.
Sarah works as a janitor in the hospital. She also went through a tragedy and her life fell apart. She was studying to be a doctor but she left everything behind, moved to another city and has decided to study and finally become a doctor. She and Connor meet one night in the cafeteria where she is on break and studying medical study cases. Connor notices, sits down to help and they become friends.
One early evening while Sarah is working, she meets Harper, Connor’s adorable young daughter and it’s instant love between Sarah and this lost and lonely little girl.

I enjoyed a lot of this book. Connor and Sarah's relationship was well developed, and Harper was great.
I took 1 star away (which is completely me and nothing to do with the author). I despise coincidences in books, and I won't give anything away, but it pertains to Gracie. I stay far away from books that mention in the blurb how "I walked into my new job, and the guy I had a one night stand with a week ago is my new boss). It's not authors, they could write how they feel the story should flow. I personally don't think a good story needs a coincidence to make it better.
I took another star away because of the last couple of chapters. In my opinion, that was unnecessary drama that didn't need to happen. Again, just MY opinion.
The writing was good, the characters were well developed, but the two above things are what I don't like in a book. I hope if you're reading this, it doesn't take away your excitement of reading this book.

The way this book has you laughing one minute then crying the next. The way Harper came to life the minute she found Sarah. The way Connor and Sarah silently fell in love with each other. It was honestly just a beautiful story.
The twist in the book-maybe I was just blind to it but I honestly did not see it coming. But in the end when William stands up for what is right was perfect. The separation was a healing period for both of them. Did I think it should have moved faster? Yeah but that was just because I wanted more of them together-selfish.
But honestly, everything about this book was just good. I don’t usually read books unless theres a morally grey character in it with a lot of 🌶️. This book didn’t have those things and did not need it.
So good go read it.

Read it in one sitting.
This is the first book I’ve read by this author but it won’t be the last. I loved it. Connor is head of cardiothoracic surgery, divorced, single father. Sarah is a janitor at the same hospital while she studies for final exam to be a doctor herself. The two meet randomly in a hospital breakroom while she is studying and he begins to help her. A chance encounter with Connor’s daughter brings Connor and Sarah to a new level. As in any relationship, complications arise that challenge them and raise questions with difficult answers. I loved the characters in this book. Connor, Sarah, Harlow, Joseph and Bea are so well developed and the story is so well written. I usually like more spice in the books I read but this one didn’t need it. Loved it.

I liked the story, but sadly I'm fairly certain it's AI.
This story is based in Massachusetts. Now, I'm a MA Native, but I don't expect a non MA native to know all the states quirks. I do expect an author to do basic research though, and calling Worcester a small town? That tells me the author didn't do any research.
For context, Worcester is the 2nd largest city in MA, and it comes in 2nd to Boston. I mean, It's the 2nd largest city in all of New England coming in again at 2nd to Boston.
Yet as big as Worcester is, if you live in Worcester, you're not flying to Boston. I can't even describe how ridiculous and expensive that would be. There's maybe 50 miles between the two cities so unless her parents are Talor Swift, they're not flying to Boston. You'd either take the T or drive.

This was a first time read by the author for me. Didn’t go in expecting much but the blurb really pulled me in. I love single parent romances and this one was beautifully written. Connor and Sarah were sketched out really well. The emotions going through these two were written very well. It’s was nice to read about a FMC who goes through trauma and decides to brave it all on her own. It’s a choice that she made instead of being forced into it. Harper has to be the sweetest child there is. Loved how Connor helped Sarah without knowing who she actually was and then didn’t stop helping her once he realised it either.

A few bumps to be had along the way, but it was so satisfying the ending. Just a wonderful read…. On to the next one….

This is only my second Stacy Serling book, but let me tell you I’m obsessed with her writing, story telling, character development, and the biggest twist you never see coming. I got a glimpse of Sarah and Conor’s story by accidentally reading “Healing You First”, but let me tell you that it made me want to read about their story. Sarah learns what forgiveness means and how to have hope. Conor learns that there’s still time to do better and to fight for those you love.

Easy short read - I don't know how I came across two books now back-to-back that has a lot of grief and recovery from that - but somehow, I did. I did not care much for the timeline in this book, the timeline didn't make sense to me with the large gaps (especially the time apart) but over all it was an easy read and had enough drama and heartfelt moments to keep me locked in.

loved this book !
I couldn’t put this book down. Sarah and Connor have so much chemistry. Love Connor’s little girl Harper. She kept me laughing. Sarah had gone through so much as Connor had. But in the end they worked everything out . Great ending to the story. Look forward to the next book.

I wanted to read this just because the book reel itself. It hooked me as soon as I saw it. You know going in that it may be intense from the book summary. It is that as well emotional and a great read. Harper, Sarah and Connor feel like there meant to be. I wish there was more story but this also was enough to be a great HEA.

such a beautifully written story
I absolutely adored this book, its storyline takes you on a journey through highs and lows.
It’s beautifully written with such detail and emotion, I was completely hooked from the very beginning.

A lovely story of broken pieces finding their truth. The developing love story was never rushed, and the redemption arc was necessary to cement the ending. I’ll read the next book in this series.

This book has some big emotions. It doesn’t shy away from hard topics. Fully a hurt/comfort book and it makes it that much sweeter.

This is a heartfelt slow burn. The way grief can come in and cause so much damage and pain is written down beautifully and accurately it healed something in me. Helped me make different choices today.

Great read!
Loved this story! I was hooked from the start. Sarah and Conner are perfect for each other, then add in Harper and it's a beautiful family. Story didn't drag at all and ending was beautiful.

So, this book was a pretty good book. However, there was a lot of romance and lovey dubbie. Getting over grief and the plot twist. However, if you are looking for any spice or anything like that, there is none of that in this book
