Off Limits

Narrated in duet!

Chelsea thought sending her youngest off to college meant rediscovering herself, quietly. But when her 18-year-old son’s best friend, Julian, ignites a spark she hasn’t felt in years, her world is turned upside down. What begins as a single reckless night, a silent agreement to keep their desire hidden, quickly becomes something dangerously real and infinitely more complicated.

Caught between undeniable passion and the weight of societal judgment, Chelsea and Julian must navigate a connection that challenges every boundary. Their love story isn't just forbidden; it's a test of whether some risks are worth losing everything for.

Some desires are too dangerous to ignore.

Writing found Lynne Solisse later in life, and never let go. She writes romance that doesn’t flinch, centering on women who are fierce, loyal, and unafraid to demand more out of life. Women who want to reclaim passion on their own terms.

Whether contemporary, fantasy, or even proving that love can still burn bright in a gritty post-apocalyptic world, her stories are raw but sweet, fun and emotionally charged, threaded with just enough tension to keep your heart racing.

She lives in the Southern US with her three boys and two spoiled cats, and believes it’s never too late for a second chance. Or a plot twist.

This is my first MILF book, I don’t typically enjoy reverse age gap but i was actually lowkey liking it.

The only thing I didn’t like was the insta-love. Giving that it’s a novella it’s pretty fast paced and of course I was expecting insta lust but when they both got all lovey dovey it was a little cringe. Overall good, fast paced novella and pallet cleanser!

‎"Fun. Wildly inappropriate. But fun."
‎
‎💚 A divorced physiotherapist FMC
‎💚 Newly graduated high school MMC
‎💚 Son’s best friend
‎💚 First person single POV
‎💚 Midnight "talks" 😏
‎💚 Empty nest syndrome
‎💚 Realistic ending
‎
‎My, my, what a fun little snack! 😋 I just realized that before this, I’d found plenty of best friend’s dad romances written from the FMC’s side. But when it comes to role reversal suddenly it’s like we’re trying to communicate with aliens. Where are all my sugar mommy books??? 👀
‎
‎Okay, okay in Off Limits, Chelsea isn’t exactly a sugar mommy. There’s no money involved, just an arrangement. She’s your usual best friend’s mom tha will lets you use her pool and orders pizza ... Except she catches the eye of Julian Sanchez, her son’s best friend who flirts with her and makes the first move 😩 Please note that Julian is legal. So as taboo as it sounds, there’s no underage situation here and everything is consensual 👌
‎
‎In just 12 chapters, we get a glimpse into Chelsea’s life: her kids, her ex-husband. I loved that despite everything she’s been through, she isn’t bitter about life. Julian is also such a lovable character. He openly admits his inexperience, yet learns quickly like the good boy he is 😳
‎
‎What I liked most though, was the ending. It doesn’t force a happy resolution just to please readers, but I wouldn’t call it sad either. More like bittersweet?? 🤔 It made me love Chelsea even more because in the end despite knowing it would hurt, she still chose to do the right thing.
‎
‎My only complaint and the reason I docked one star is the classic novella problem: the length. Too short. Too fast. ‎This book would’ve been even better if we got more of Julian’s friendship with Chelsea’s son, more background on her ex-husband, and more gossip with her best friend, Claudia. I like their chatty dynamic at the beginning!
‎
‎I strongly recommend downloading the extra chapter at the end of the book. Even though it’s just chapter three rewritten from Julian’s POV, it’s cute, and it clarifies that what Julian felt for Chelsea wasn’t just something impulsive. Pick this if you want a quick read! 💚

This was such a wonderful palate cleanser! It was a super quick read and the perfect blend of sugar and spice. It was nice to read about an older FMC who was willing to be patient with the younger MMC (without being weird about it). I don't typically find myself reading reverse age-gap romances but the dynamic between the two main characters worked really well despite the circumstances. This story had such a bittersweet ending to it and I hope to see more of Chelsea and Julian in the future. I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to read an ARC copy of this book and I'm voluntarily leaving this review! :)

Reverse Age gap
Single mom
Son's best friend

Duet narration - Lynne Solisse & Carson McCamy with supporting cast not listed
Great narration I liked their voices.

This was a good, short, and spicy listen. I stumbled upon this book on Hoopla seeing it is duet narration I gave it a try and I was not disappointed.

She is a divorced single mom and he is a friend of her son. He has the hots for her and shoots his shot. She teaches him things and they have a good time together. She says only this once but we all know its never just this once...

Overall, this was a good time listen. Spicy and a little sweet. Love a reverse age gap.

A short, spice little read.

In this book, we meet Chelsea, divorced Physical therapist, whose son just graduated high school and Julian, her son’s best friend. Julian gives Chelsea a proposition a few days before he’s set to leave for college. To each other, they are both “off limits” and work through those feelings while going through with the proposition.

This was the first reverse age gap that I’ve read. While I enjoyed this book, at first it was a bit weird and inappropriate for me. Maybe a little more backstory or Julian’s POV more would help make it a little less uncomfortable at first. Overall, a good quick read in between books

What can I say but that this novella is was a great little ride. I loved it. It was a breath of fresh air to see a reverse age gap for a change.

Chelsea and Julian were freaking adorable. In true realistic fashion, just because you have mutually agreed upon terms, doesn’t mean things pan out as planned. I loved that both characters showed a lot of vulnerability with each other.

This was a beautiful mixture of fun and spice. I definitely recommend picking up this novella. It makes a beautiful, quick palette cleanser.

Off Limits!! What a ride. Chelsea a divorced mom in her late 30s falls for her son's friend Julian who is about to leave for college. Will one night be enough for either of them?

5 stars! It sucked me in from the beginning!

This little novella has all the spice, very sexy but also sweet! I really enjoyed Lynne's writing; I ate this up in an hour and was just as upset as Chelsea and Julian it had to end. This might be wishful thinking, but it would be fun to read more about them maybe a summer novella!! Can't wait to read more of Lynne's books!!

Thank you Lynne Solisse for the ARC copy of Off Limits. I loved that the older person in this relationship was the FMC, and what a wonderful person she is. This was a very spicy pallet cleanser, and I would love to find out what the future holds for Chelsea and Julian

Thank you to the author and team for the ARC and allowing me to read this in exchange for a review.

This was a spicy and interesting age gap romance. While I found myself saying “oh my” sometimes just because of the age gap, their story was fun and actually kind of sweet.

Fun flirty novella

If you want a spicy short read, then add this to your collection. Bonus points for the FMC not being a teenager. I enjoyed this one for sure!

Bittersweet ❤️

4.5 ⭐️ Lovely reverse age gap. Chelsea and Julian were so sweet to each other. I'm definitely going to hunt down that extra scene with Julian's POV 😊 I need more.
