OMG THIS WAS AMAZING!!!!! This book was so different than what I usually read, but boy am so glad I did because this was the greatest. am so grateful I was giving the opportunity to advance read this.
Let me start by saying this book had shifters, and so much love, passion, and spiciness that I had to kick my feet and giggle a little.
The fact that a coyote shifter and sheep shifter was in this was amazing. I felt it was so unique and different which is what I loved.
Now on to lavender & Jack both characters were absolutely amazing. Lavender was a sweetie pie and just a strong FMC. Then jack was a green flag man if I have ever read one. Together they were so perfectly together.
Now the world building was fabulous, for a fantasy paranormal romance. I really enjoyed how as you read you can really see the attention to details the author puts in her book. The way the way everything flowed together seamlessly. I am just blown away reading this I never would have ever imagined this was Author Sable Shadow debut book. I am now hooked I am truly excited to see how this series continues because Lavender and Jack were a hell of an amazing start.

I received this eARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
This isn't a genre I typically reach for, but I wanted to support the author. And I wasn't disappointed. This read is like a Hallmark movie shown on HBO (IYKYK). There's so much love and healing and a ton of sex lol.
You wouldn't guess it was her debut novel with how well the story is executed. The pace is even and the writing is great. And the world building. I don't know if it's common in many paranormal romances, but it added so much more depth for me. By world building, I mostly mean creating whole brands and names of places that don't exist but in a world that feels like our own, it makes it feel more real in its own way. And I'm no zoologist so for all I know, there could be some inaccuracies, but I could see the research that went into animal behavior. Not all of it was accurate I'm sure. They are shifters after all. ;)
You can see the passion and love that this work has been made of and that really sells it for me.
Lavender is a cutie patootie who looks like a cinnamon roll, but is actually more like a good cupcake (IYKYK): sweet on top with a solid foundation. Sure, it doesn't start super solid because of past trauma, but as she grows, she gets there. I love Teddy and wish I had a friend like him in my life, for sure.
And most importantly, we. love. men. written. by. women! Jack is a girl's man. He listens. He pays attention. He lets her fight her battles when she needs to and steps in when she doesn't. He accepts her for all of her and while I love my husband (he's no deadbeat either), Jack is every girl's dream.
I even read the acknowledgements. And I just wanted to say that the author did an incredible job and I'm super proud of her and she absolutely should be proud of herself and I wish her all the success in the world <3

I am honored to have been allowed to ARC read this book.
Had I not followed the author through her writing journey, I never would have thought this was her debut. It’s so fully formed and well written with characters you come to love (and hate).
Coyote shifters (and sheep shifters) are new to me, but I find that I loved the differences. I also love the way the author described the different types of shifts the characters could achieve, and I LOVE Lavender in one of hers (and no, I won’t be elaborating). 😉
While this book has spice (and a good amount of it), it’s a romance through and through. I really enjoyed the way we watch the MCs grow together, learn each other, and figure out what their very unique relationship means to them. No one was one-dimensional, and there’s more than one side character I NEED books for (Teddy? Carter? Honey?).
The author really did justice to the FMC and her relationship with Daddy dearest. Strained parent/child situations are never easy, and aren’t exactly easy to write, either. That strain and the way the FMC reacted felt real, authentic.
What also felt real was the way the characters all had flaws and high points, things they could be proud of and things about themselves that were disappointing (to themselves, sometimes justified and sometimes not).
I already can’t wait for the next book in this series. I’m sure I’ll devour it as hungrily as I did this one. 🖤

Sheep shifter/coyote shifter love story!!
He falls first from the very beginning
This was such a cute cozy shifter romance! I’m so honored that I got to be one of the first readers of this debut novel. Sable Shadow created such a beautiful world. I enjoyed seeing how the story developed! The way she portrays the shifters and their different types of shifting is unique and I enjoyed it!
I loved the slow burn when it came to the romance between Jack and Lavender but I think my favorite part was seeing how they helped heal one another with their love. Both of them having their own trauma that made relationships hard on them but pushing through to support eachother. It was so beautiful. There were moments of humor that I loved and moments where my heart broke. Also LOVED TEDDY! We all need a teddy in our lives if we don’t have one already haha!
If you are looking for a book that has all the feels, this is a good one. It’s not super spicy nor super dark which is why to me I classify it as a cozy shifter romance with some light humor and a few moments of “holy shit that guys an asshat”. Thank you Sable for letting me dive into Jack and Lavenders world! Can’t wait for more!!!

The ex was honestly not a good fit for Lavender and it even shows in how he treated her. Jack was so in and the fact he added clauses in contract to still be in the babies life was swoon worthy.
The ending was perfect in my opinion. I also loved the side character Teddy he was such a supportive friend.

This was such a cute story. It was like reading a hallmark movie but with a lot of sex. Who would ever think it would work out between a coyote shifter and a sheep shifter? I love that even though it wasn't supposed to be a long term thing that they actually fell in love. Jack was so sweet and patient and protective of Lavender. And even though in the beginning Lavender was kind of a pushover she learned to hold her own in the end.

Unique Shifter Romance!
I absolutely loved this take on shifters! Unconventional shifter species (sheep/coyotes) and even more unique partial/half shifts. This was a fun and fast read. The MMC was possessive in all the ways. Blood doesn’t always mean family that supports you, and Vows & Teeth did a fantastic job of showing that. Highly recommend!
