All fell victim to not staying one step ahead of the competition. On February 2014, I had 3,000 followers. By March 2015, I reached 100,000. On March 24, 2018, I had 376,000 Twitter followers and grew at a rate of 500 daily. The landscape on Twitter has significantly changed since then, however, with the new update, I’m still able to grow my account by 100-200 followers a day. You can verify my followers count @mistersalesman. (Copy and paste) In March 2015, when I realized that I had discovered a system where I could gain a ton of followers organically, I published How To Gain 100,000 Twitter Followers, Secrets Revealed by An Expert. I thought about all the businesses and individuals who’s been struggling to establish a presence on social media and how this book would instantly solve their problems. At first, people were skeptical because of the title. So, I had to wait until the results rolled in. Now, 238 reviews later, the book has helped Twitter users gain over 5 MILLION followers, and that’s just from customers I know about. Here are a few who have gone from a few followers to the 100,000 mark. @DoriCreates 303,000! @TableOfferings 300,000! @JuliaGrantham2, 203,000! @NashFargo 178,000! @goodsolitaire 136,000! @bobbyblaze744 134,000! @PsychicHealerC 139,000! @EroticaTiffany 128,000! @osideo 127,000! @Tammysdragonfly 112,000! @rafaelwrites 101,000! @AmyJRomine @AReeceAuthor 101,000! @Randomitable 100,000! Please verify their count on Twitter and see how many followers they have now. Many people who reviewed the book say they’ve doubled their followers in just a few hours or days. Can all of them be wrong? Of course not. Amedeus Hines @Rafaelwrites said, “I read How to Gain 100,000 Twitter Followers and didn’t quite make the 1-year time-line but gained 100K followers in 13 months! Thanks, M!”@RolfBlaser, "I've purchased the book How To Gain 100,000 Followers and I have to say, I was a little skeptical. Even when I started to read, I thought, oh well, no news. However, following your Six Powerful Factors systematically proved successful–I've gone from 1,350 followers to 2,127 and counting within one week, and I haven’t even finished the book yet. Your recipe works truly amazing, even if it sounds trivial." @wileylaw2 "Well, 9 days in @MisterSalesman and his system–I have now gone from 650 to 4,010 followers! I'd say it's a success! Before I get to the book's elaborations on Twitter a quick note about general concepts: 9 out 10 times when I see an author using quotes in their book the book does not impress (unless the book was published by a traditional publisher who acquired the right to reprint the quotes).
Quotes are copyrighted! The end! Hence, authors who use quotes violate others' copyrights. Any author who acts with diligence can find out this fact in less than a minute. Google offers more than half a million articles about this topic.
Consequently, authors who use quotes without permission either (a) don't care about legalities or (b) try using famous persons' words to boost their own content. This author quotes John Steinbeck, Jimmy Hendix, Jim Rohn, John Wooten, et al.
I am inclined to believe that LeMont doesn't know much about the basics of publishing because his nonfiction writing style is not up to par. He also writes, "... Since I value your time, I will not supply you with an explanation why something works or not..." HUH? Hint: That's what nonfiction books are all about.
Le Mont's "proof" is his Twitter account and the number of his followers. So, I checked them out: An Yemeni teenager, who tweets in Arabic only and tweeted the last time on 16 May 2017. A Tunesian girl, who follows 181 people and has 3 followers, LeMont being one of them. A young man, who follows " three things in life. (1) Knowledge, (2) strategy, (3) Execution ..." yet has never tweeted a single tweet. A Nigerian young man whose tweets are protected. Is he maybe a Nigerian prince? And, thousands of similar accounts.
Of course, LeMont claims "... When you have a lot of followers, you're perceived as a social media influencer; someone who knows their shit and who everyone wants to follow..."
I am not so sure about that. Equally, I am suspicious of LeMont's credo, "... Never follow people who don't follow you. There are no exceptions. My Message) "Why follow people who don't follow you? Stop making stupid people famous!"..."
Hmm, ... Author Stephen King follows 71 people and has 4.61 million followers.
So, by this author's account, an author who follows Stephen King would be making a stupid person famous? Personally, I think that Stephen King is a lot smarter than a person who calls King stupid. I also believe that any author would be wise to follow Stephen King because he might learn something from the master. Be this as it may, this book has other problems.
One part of the author's plan to gain more followers is to follow the people who retweet your tweets. The basic idea is that if they retweet your tweets they "might be" interested in your content hence these are people you should follow. If they don't follow you back should unfollow them.
"... 5. Attract other retweeters who will reciprocate by retweeting your tweets. (p. 44). .."
Though LeMont offers other strategies this one item already shows that he is making empty promises. LeMont has 375K followers, yet a closer look at his Twitter feed showed me that the most one of his postings had gotten retweeted was 7 times. Most interestingly, a reviewer who reviewed this book in November 2015 mentioned the exact same data: Maximum 7 Retweets and most often no retweets. That's interesting. I read this book more than 2 years after the reviewer mentioned the exact same numbers. Could this be coincidence or does LeMont know the 7 accounts who retweet his tweets?
Now, let's do the math: LeMont believes that at all times only 1% of followers get to see your tweets. 1% of 375K = 3,750. If indeed, 3,750 people see LeMont's tweets and only 7 retweet, the RT rate is 0.18%. Why work 3-4 hours per day for that?
More proof that LeMont doesn't know how to write a nonfiction book: LeMont also tells personal stories that don't relate to the content of his book "... I went through a pretty nasty divorce that was worse than the War of the Roses. The final divorce decree said that I must leave the house at 5pm with my clothes, jewelry and shoes..."
HUH?!? I may have my issues with this book but I did not want to be informed about the details of the author's third divorce...
Also quite revealing is the author's first guess regarding the question, "...FOLLOWING 500 Followers 90,000? Answer: Well, that profile could mean a couple of things. First, they could have purchased the names of followers and that's why their following count is so low..."
PURCHASED? That's the first thought that comes to his mind? If I would have been asked this question, I would have asked, "Does this Twitter account belong to a celebrity?"
Then again, since LeMont already mentioned this topic I wondered where all his followers who follow accounts that don't follow them back came from?
Remember, LeMont's most important rule is: "... Never follow people who don't follow you. There are no exceptions..."
Still, hundreds of his followers follow a few hundred people though they are being followed by less than a dozen. Plus, they never tweet or retweet like LeMont recommends. Isn't that weird?
1 star, There is nothing to be gained from this book. I believe LeMont's real strategy is to drive up his own Twitter followers so lots of people read his book from A to Z and he gets a higher share of the Kindle Unlimited fund. The fact that he priced his book at $9.99 and also put it in KU supports this idea.
There is a formula for finding and retaining the right sort of followers, according to this guide and, not to be a hypocrite, I intend to give it a go. However, much of this book is filler - testimonials about how brilliant the inventor of the system is, and some terribly depressing stuff about how none of your friends wants you to succeed because you’ll leave them behind.
All the way through, I had a feeling that the author was just counting my money. This feeling did not go away when, towards the end, there were a couple of deals for his consultancy programme ($1000) and his mentoring scheme ($3000).
The book could have been significantly shorter and if you’re going to depress me, don’t charge me so much. I suspect, when I bought this, what I really wanted was a guide to creating compelling enough content to attract a mad number of followers.
I’m sure there are people who regard success on social media as following the same sort of numbers as are following you. Sadly, that’s not me. I think success on social media does not mean following thousands and thousands of people.
Very informative and exactly as described. It's an interesting thing to tackle though, as the rules surrounding Twitter seem to change by the hour. That said, not knowing anything about how things work on this platform, I found quite a number of valuable tools and resources to increase the number of followers which, not surprisingly, will take time and effort. Lots of both. One of the biggest challenges is that Twitter has cracked down on a number of the shortcuts and secrets listed in this book, including the use of the Crowdfire app, which appears to be a big part of the strategy to increase followers. It can be done still, but much of it has to be done manually, which again, takes time and effort. Nothing against the author or the app, however, since this is outside their control. All I can say is it's a brave new world these days!
Why are there not more reviews for this book on Goodreads?
I came across this book back in December of 2017 when it appeared on my twitter feed. As I consider Twitter my main platform to reach new and current readers, I wanted to find ways how I could improve my follower count. Turns out, I was doing most of the things mentioned in the book, wrong. Using the invaluable advice, I gained 250 new followers within the first 24 hours and am continuing to clean out non-followers who are doing absolutely nothing for me.
If you are wanting to learn more about Twitter and its interworkings, I recommend you giving this book a read.
I started reading this book yesterday and completed it today. I immediately began implementing the strategies M LeMont outlines in this book as the Six Powerful Factors. At first, it all seems so obvious and you will think, "Well, duh. I do that already." But do you? DO you really? I certainly thought I did, but I saw proof right away that I had not been using these factors to the best of my ability. It has not even been a full day since I purchased this book and my Twitter following has increased by almost 100! If you want to get your name out there for your books (or whatever), you NEED this book!
I honestly thought reading this was going to be wasted time. I was wrong. I'm glad I took out the time to sit and read this book. It is packed with information that I will be able to use. My favorite chapter is twenty-seven. I read it on the day I launched my book, Murder By The Book. I needed that pep talk. This is one of those books you will keep coming back to until you get it right.
I found this book amazing. It was my first book on this topic. Follow the guidelines and you will be SUCCESSFULL. Mr. LeMont teaches you lessons beyond Twitter. His final chapter touched my heart. He is a true human in a computer world. I feel this is the only book I need to read and then self discovery after that. My twitter results are amazing. Thank you. Sir LeMont. Don William Burrell.
Like a mixture of Tony Robbins and Rhonda Byrne's the Secret mixed with Twitter. Can't miss, this is a must read for anyone who wants to grow their audience on twitter or otherwise
I already knew of some of the things this author suggests, but I did learn a few new tips from this book. It is a quick and enjoyable read. I have started implementing a few of his ideas and have benefited already.
I am new at Twitter so this book was really helpful in understanding how it works and what it takes to get many followers. Some good examples are shown and basic steps, basic but important.
I was expecting more tips in this book. It was useful and I have implemented the main point in my own Twitter use. I was expecting a little bit more warmth in the ideas, but then I guess if you want to get to 100,000 followers then you have to be a bit brutal!
Read this once read this twice and as many times as it takes for you to succeed on x because you can and you Wilson much good advice in just one book kudos keep reading and doing it and stay safe
I enjoyed this book and found some amazing tips. Some I had already implemented on my own but many I hadn’t thought of. If you want to grow your following read this book
Not sure about the follow-unfollow strategies. Or unfollowing those that won’t follow you. For the most part the book was agreeable to me and I learned a lot.
Rarely can I say that a book has made such a profound impact on my life goals. M LeMont's book HTG100k is a book that anyone who is looking to understand the world of social media and its marketing power, should read. Since I have implemented what LeMont teaches in this book, I've been able to establish growth rate that I know how to speed up or slow down.
For an Indie Author, this is a life changer for me. Every Indie Author has two hustles. One is to write quality books, the second is to know how to market your books to your target audience. I highly recommend reading and applying what is taught within these pages.
M LeMont, Thank you for sharing this insightful information. You've helped me to unlock a powerful took that I have been able to contribute to increased exposure and sales of my books. This has been a game changer for me. I'm grateful to your willingness to not only share this valuable information, but to continue to practice what you preach.
I can't thank you enough for this amazing book! Not only was I doing it all wrong but it helped me understand it all so easily. This was jam packed with information you can use throughout without fluff. I could not get trough it without a notebook and pen in hand to take notes. Notes! I know something I haven't done since college but this was something I couldn't miss. After trying a few things the results are already coming in. I look forward to anything else you write and I send all my friends recommendation emails to check it out. Well worth the read I thought I knew my way around twitter pretty well boy was I not using it to its full potential. Great job well written and so easy to understand even I got it
Comprehensive! M LeMont is a straight shooter that gives you the facts and a plan of attack to use on Twitter to gain follower and grow your business! A must read for every Twitter user, learn the in's and out's, the analytics, and how to not only survive, but thrive on Twitter! Read proven testimony from his beta team who I have personally watched grow leaps and bounds ahead of the pack. This book is bountiful with information, websites and lesson that are comprehensive and easy to understand. I can't wait to implement what I have learned! The sky is the limit!
I like this book because I felt like it is an honest and ethical answer to the question of how to quickly grow your Twitter followers. So many of the things that you see online obviously are questionable. I really like this book, and highly recommend it.
Using the methods that are on this book, I grew my Twitter following by 250 in 24 hours and I cleaned up hundreds of non followers who were doing noting for my Twitter life. So this book will get me to 100,000 in no time.
Easy read and very comprehensive method. This book has been created for people with basic knowledge of Twitter looking to understand the tool and the way it works. Very insightful!
The author describes six steps to get 100K followers. His system definitely works, and I've gone from 3K followers to almost 8K in two months. Here's the deal, too, it's not like you follow people and then unfollow. His program is genuine and you follow all that follow you, etc. Finally, this author is still very active on Twitter and I (and I assume many others) interact with him daily.
