I’m many things—sarcastic, ruthless, and offensively good at my job.
What I’m not is tolerant of my brand-new neighbor—Raiden Kane.
He’s infuriating, smug, and far too criminally attractive for someone who treats our shared parking like a declaration of war. Sure, I could handle all of that, but what I can’t handle is his Energizer Bunny stamina and apparent addiction to beautiful women—an addiction that plays out for hours every night through the insultingly thin wall between our bedrooms.
Raiden Kane knows exactly what he’s doing to me, and I’d dare say it’s the best game he’s ever played. My tolerance meter is wearing thin. Especially when he looks at me with those lazy bedroom eyes that suggest he already knows exactly how I taste.
Work is supposed to keep me sane. It’s my escape. Until it isn’t. Our worlds collide, and the man I’d happily strangle on principle starts turning up where he doesn’t belong.
Coincidence? Please.
There’s something off about Raiden Kane. He’s hiding secrets of his own, and I fully intend to pry them from his cocky, sinful soul … one delicious mistake at a time.
I pretty much devoured this one. I wouldn't call it dark at all, yes there's some murdery times but nothing graphic or anything that I would consider dark. Instead it was pretty light for a book surrounded by murder and assassins and the enemies-to-lovers style romance was the real focus of the story. I loved seeing how Kiara and Raiden would one-up each other with the crazy neighbor antics and I especially loved to see how all of that tension translated into some very steamy moments.
They say the line between love and hate is a thin one. Sheridan portrayed that well. Right from chapter 1 she painted those high emotions. She had us detesting the new neighbor. Naturally those quick jests turn into banter. Their antics into games. Those hot tempers and sparks, catch fire and this book get HOT.
Sheridan is amazing at writing strong, bad a$s FMCs. Kiara in this book is no different. This book will have you angry, flustered, amused. I am really enjoying Sheridan's brand of Dark Romcoms. As well as the special touch of adding character art throughout the read.
Fans of Mr & Mrs. Smith, but want spice and a bit of Sheridan's Brand of unhinged will love this book.
If you read my reviews you will know I do read quite a few dark Rom com books 😂 This one upon starting just struck me as very similar to ones I’ve previously read, to the point I actually thought I’d done that ‘forgot I’d read it’ situation. Mainly because the storyline is exactly the same with the exception of some variance in the plot line, if like me you’ve read others you will understand what I mean.
𝙸 𝚠𝚒𝚕𝚕 𝚍𝚎𝚜𝚝𝚛𝚘𝚢 𝚑𝚎𝚛. 𝙵𝚒𝚐𝚞𝚛𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚟𝚎𝚕𝚢, 𝚘𝚏 𝚌𝚘𝚞𝚛𝚜𝚎.
Now the above is not to say I’d didn’t enjoy this read, as I did, because if anything I do love me a strong FMC and Kiara is definitely that with a dry sense of humour too. The MCs tit for tat is quite amusing, their banter spot on and throw in the sexual tension that leads us into their connection it all comes together well. There are a lot of spicy times, violence, m^*der (obviously for assassins that’s a given 🤭), serious parts too, some tense moments, a twist or two all leading toward an HEA along with their two spikeys 🤣 I don’t want to give too much away, as I said it’s an enjoyable read and one of those books you can settle into in between those pitch/horror stories 😉
I love Sheridan Anne! I haven’t heard a book of hers I don’t like!! She keeps you pulled it and wanting to read more. I love how much of a badass Kiara is!! Girls rule the world lol
I would like to formally apologize to my hubby because I spent this entire book randomly giggling at my phone in the middle of the night.
First of all, thank you, Sheridan Anne, for not making me suffer through the usual “he’s a manwhore and now she’s secretly crying because he’s with another woman” trope.🙏🏼🙏🏼 The second I read the blurb and saw that Raiden apparently spends his free time keeping Kiara awake with his extracurricular activities, I got nervous. I was fully prepared for 200 pages of jealousy and unnecessary drama. Instead, Kiara’s reaction is basically, “How can I make this man’s life more difficult today?” and honestly? Relatable. 👑 Every time she hears him through the wall she’s not pining after him. She’s not secretly heartbroken. She’s not wondering why he doesn’t love her. She’s plotting violence. She’s making fun of him. She’s interrupting him. And I was laughing the entire time. Also, can we talk about the fact that the secret identity plot DIDN’T make me want to throw my Kindle across the room? Because usually these books drag the reveal out until 97% and then suddenly everyone is shocked, betrayed, and refusing to communicate for the rest of the story. Not here. These two actually figure things out like competent adults. Well… competent might be a strong word considering they’re assassins, but you know what I mean. Once they know, they KNOW. There wasn’t some massive dragged-out misunderstanding that had me screaming, “JUST TALK TO EACH OTHER.” And my favorite part? Once Raiden and Kiara finally get together, that’s it. No random women. No jealousy bait. No weird scenes designed to make the heroine insecure. Just two absolutely unhinged murderers being obsessed with each other. Which is exactly what I signed up for. This book is marketed as a dark rom-com, and somehow that’s the most accurate description ever. There are assassins. There are bodies. There is murder. But somehow I spent most of the book laughing. and Kiara were chaotic, ridiculous, hilarious, and somehow adorable despite the whole serial-killer-adjacent lifestyle.
My only complaint is that it ended. I want another book. And another one after that. And maybe a security camera pointed at their apartment so I could continue watching them annoy each other forever.
If you’re looking for a dark romance that’s actually funny, with top-tier banter, zero frustrating jealousy drama, and two main characters who are equally feral, read this immediately.
The banter truly sucked me in and now I’m emotionally attached to two homicidal weirdos. 🫶🏼
When I received the email notifying me that I had an ALC for Serial Bangers, I screamed, “Yes, yes, yes!” in excitement. I was so thrilled to be chosen to review this book, and I am immensely grateful for the opportunity. I knew before I started listening that I would not be disappointed—and I wasn’t. In fact, I was mesmerised by this book from beginning to end.
The sheer power and tenacity of the female assassin amazed me. Kiara St. James is a woman who gets the job done in a swift, smooth fashion. She relies entirely on herself, free from the entanglements of friends, family, or a significant other throwing her off her game. That is, until a new neighbour moves in next door and parks their Audi RS7 over the line into her bay. Kiara is far from happy—she is murderous! Kiara only has a few things in life that are entirely hers, and her parking space is one of them. The other is her prickly cactus, Spikezilla. Let me warn you, from this point on, the laughs begin.
Raiden Kane is Kiara’s new neighbour. She meets him after knocking on his door to complain about loud moans and groans coming through their shared bedroom wall while she is trying to sleep. Audacious and infuriating, Raiden is also one hot, sexy beast. The attraction between them is instant, but the hostility remains as Kiara seeks revenge.
What follows is a game of wits, as they both get a thrill out of getting under each other’s skin with inventive ways of getting payback. The best moment is when Spikezilla becomes a casualty of Raiden’s fevered lovemaking with a woman who was encouraged to scream out Kiara’s full name during the act. There was no holding Kiara back from avenging her spiky companion by prematurely ending Raiden’s night.
The stakes only rise when they both discover what they actually do for a living. By this stage, I was in agony from laughing so hard.
"Author Sheridan Anne has a brilliant imagination for dark rom-coms and knows exactly how to craft a cackle-fest you won’t want to end. This fun is only heightened by the amazing narrators, CJ Bloom and Patrick Zeller.
Both narrators fully embody their characters, creating intense, believable chemistry. Zeller brings incredible realism to the performance, capturing the emphatic exertion and breathlessness of physical activity perfectly.
The audio quality is entirely on point throughout the listening experience. This is a definitive 5-star audiobook, and giving it anything less would be criminal!
🎧📚 Serial Bangers by Sheridan Anne Narrated by CJ Bloom & Patrick Zeller
Well… the title doesn’t lie. This book was an absolute BANGER.
From the very first page, I was laughing so hard I nearly scared the dog. Sheridan Anne has somehow mastered the impossible combination of dark romance, action, suspense, and comedy, and honestly? I ate up every single second of it.
Kiara and Raiden are hands down one of the funniest couples I’ve read in a long time. Their neighbour war had me cackling, their banter was elite, and the tension? So thick you could cut it with a knife. every argument, every attempt to annoy each other just made me love them more.
And then there’s the chemistry…
Listen. My hot flushes were having hot flushes. 🥵🌶️ The spice level was somewhere between ghost pepper and spontaneous combustion. The tension, the payoff, the absolute chaos of these two together was perfection.
But what surprised me most was how much story sits underneath all the laughs and spice. The plot kept me hooked, the twists genuinely caught me off guard, and I loved watching the layers peel back as Kiara and Raiden’s worlds collided. Think Mr. & Mrs. Smith vibes, but with Sheridan’s signature humour, sass, and deliciously unhinged energy.
Now let’s talk audio.
CJ Bloom absolutely is Kiara. She brought every ounce of sarcasm, attitude, humour, and vulnerability to life. I couldn’t imagine anyone else in the role.
And Patrick Zeller… where has this man been hiding in my headphones? Because that voice should come with a warning label. Smooth, confident, and dangerously addictive. I’m convinced global temperatures rose a few degrees every time Raiden spoke. 🫠🎧
“I laughed, I gasped, I blushed, and I devoured every chaotic second of it.” I fell in love with the characters, devoured the story in record time, and immediately wanted more.
If you love enemies-to-lovers, hilarious banter, neighbour rivalry, explosive chemistry, action, suspense, and audiobook performances that elevate an already fantastic story, then do yourself a favour and pick this one up.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Sheridan Anne’s dark rom-com era continues to be undefe
Sheridan Anne absolutely never disappoints. How I loved every. single. thing. about Serial Bangers!
Kiara and Raiden had me hooked from their very first interaction. The neighbor war, constant one-upmanship, and absolutely elite banter had me grinning from start to finish. Kiara is exactly the kind of heroine I love from Sheridan Anne. She's fierce, hilarious, unapologetically herself, and more than capable of giving Raiden a run for his money. Oh, and I have to give a special shoutout to Spikezilla, who nearly stole the entire book. 🌵😂
And Raiden? This man was equal parts infuriating, charming, and ridiculously hot. The chemistry between these two was immediate, explosive, and oh-so-addictive. The sexual tension practically jumped off the page, but what I loved most was watching these two drive each other absolutely insane. Their back-and-forth was chaos in the best possible way, and underneath all the laughs was a connection that felt surprisingly genuine.
What surprised me most was how perfectly Sheridan balanced the humor, suspense, action, and romance. One minute I was laughing out loud, and the next I was completely invested in the twists, secrets, and danger lurking beneath the surface. Every time I thought I knew where the story was heading, Sheridan managed to surprise me.
Darkly funny, ridiculously sexy, and impossible to put down, Serial Bangers! is Sheridan Anne at her absolute best. I laughed, I blushed, and I devoured every page.

Holy moly this was hilarious and I had a blast listening to this audiobook!! Sheridan Anne did it again and I loved every second of it!! I laughed aloud a bunch of times and definitely giggled and kicked my feet so many times throughout this book!! Perfect Mr & Mrs Smith vibes. 😍
I absolutely love dark romcom and need to start searching for more books like this because it was super entertaining and I did not want to stop listening to this book. I actually listened/read this book in one day and loved it!!
Highly recommend for anyone who loves a good time, hilarious banter, action and spicy chemistry.
This book got me hooked from the start and kept me listening until the end. There was so much action and funny banter between the 2 main characters plus that hate sex was hot AF.
🎧 Now for the audiobook, it is performed in duet narration by CJ Bloom and Patrick Zeller. They did an amazing job bringing to life this book and the characters. It was a pleasure listening to them and the chemistry, banter and spice was amazing on audio!
Firstly, I don't think you understand how excited I was to get this ARC! Long time Sheridan Anne lover, first time ARC receiver!
Kiara and Raiden are neighbours. Raiden has just moved in and the first night he keeps her awake the whole night until she cracks the sads, and goes banging on his door. From that moment on for weeks, they try to outdo each other in noise and annoyance, and its hilarious.
The chemistry between these two is off the charts, and the build up is so good, not as good as when they finally decide to get down and dirty though, cause thats where all that Sheridan Anne spice comes in to play and she does not disappoint.
Let’s move onto the banter. This is a rom com, so of course there is witty banter. The Banter is TOP TIER. Kiara is full of sass and she does just not give a flying rats left testicle. She’s so hilarious, and the things she does to Raiden are brilliant! Raiden is also talented in the scheming and banter department and he absolutely gives her a run for her money.
This book is a mix of hilarity, darker themes, appreciation and a great plot.
Im so glad I got to read it, and I am absolutely going to listen to the audio, because I know Im going to be laughing the whole time!
Call out to Spikezilla and Needles. Solid work as the back up characters too!

Kiara is a hitwoman used to travel the world for her work. When she returns home after a long day, hoping for a few days to rest and recover, she is dismayed to find out that a new neighbour has moved in, and insisting on keeping her awake at all hours with his revolving door of visitors making his headboard slam on her bedroom wall. This begins a weeklong rivalry, which each of them doing everything they can to make the other say mercy, but while he makes her crazy in every way, she can’t help but wonder exactly what being with him would be like.
Raiden is an international salesman with an ego to match his bank account. While he’s been intrigued about his neighbour since the moment she first pounded on his door, he’s having too much fun trying to make her cave to make a real effort. He knows there’s something about Kiara that sets her apart from other woman, and one taste will never be enough.
I received an early copy of this book from the author and it had me laughing from the dedication. Raiden and Kiara are polar opposites and yet more similar than either would have imagined. As always, Sheridan Anne combines a dark sense of humour with so much spice, and a great story to go with it. His sunshine meets her darkness at every turn, and will leave readers simultaneously in stitches and in awe. Some connections are stronger than anything, and this couple will walk through fire, literally, for each other.
this book had me laughing sooo much. Kiaras a hitwoman who just wants to relax after a job buttttt her new neighbour Raiden has other plans. his headboard is constantly bangin against her wall which starts an all out war between them and it was lowk pre funny. Kiara is suchhh a great fmc like she holds her own sooo well even when Raiden just loves to annoy her and I kinda loved reading that.
The pranks they pull on each other were really creative and funny like what starts as simple annoyance escalates quickly andddd their banter is soo sharp throughout. the tensions building every time they talk even when they're just trying to one up the other.
The chemistry between them is soooo good but ofc they both refuse to admit they're attracted to each other which makes their eventual hook up sooo good. I actually loved the whole plot like kiara being a hitwoman and raidens mysterious job which then collide which creates some amazinggg suspense and action, these were also twists I didn't even see coming but it kept me turning pages till like 3am.
spesh mention is Spikezilla who's Kiara's pet cactus and my fav parts. Her dedication to this little planty plant is really funny and kinda endearing.
This book is fast paced and pre funny. I read it in basically one sitting bc I couldn't put it down.
🔪Assassin fmc 🌵Cactus planty plant 🤥Betrayal x Deceit 🤣 Witty banter 🌵 neighbour rivalry 🔥 enemies to lovers 💥 action x suspense 🌶️ spicy dark romcom
Thank you to the author for the ARC all thoughts are my own.
She’s done it again! 3 Chapters in confirmed the moment the MFC & MMC met they had me scoffing and I knew we were going to be in for a good time… in more ways than one 😉 🪵 📱
I don’t know what Sheridan puts in her in books but they are an addiction.
The character banter is so funny I literally had tears from laughing so hard. Immediately crawled into Sheridan’s DM’s because I had to share with someone!!!!
I loved our MFC ….. she really did make the book even more hilarious especially when she was tormenting our MMC. Or maybe it’s because she used a tranquilliser on him to teach him a lesson for being so loud 🤭
Raiden and Kiara was everything I hoped for and so much more. I was laughing so much that I don't have to do abs anytime soon, and more importantly my bladder is still holding strong (get older and you will appreciate this statement). I think I made annotations with the majority of this book. It was just that good. I read the ebook so I can not wait to hear the audiobook for this. Even though the voice actors are different than the Hide and Seek series, I have no doubt that CJ and Patrick hit this out of the park while bringing this story to life.
The banter, practical jokes and innuendos were all so well placed and well played, I could not get enough. The spice was spot on with palpable sexual tension, earth shattering highs and chafing, lows isn't a good way to describe it, but leaving you hanging is kinda a low for the one left high and possibly dry.
The dedication was absolutely perfect. Sheridan, you deserve it all ❤️. Thank you for my early copy of this book, I can't wait to add the audiobook and physical copy to my collection. This is my honest review.
Now I am off to search for a new planter for my cactus since I was provided some really good ideas. If only I had a name for my prickly low maintenance love.
Really quite enjoyable. I love an unhinged FMC especially when she’s pitted against an (almost) equally unhinged MMC.
We don’t get any character back stories (which I would’ve loved and maybe a few more spicy times as well) but we get a lot of fun, light hearted scenes for all that they’re very murdery scenes.
What would you do if you were challenged by a neighbor like Raiden?
I was a little grossed out by his man wh0rish ways, but he earned my forgiveness for how hard he falls and when he fell.
2.5 🌶️ we have smexy times, not overly explicit, not overly spicy and not very adventurous besides maybe where they chose to get busy sometimes. 🔥🚗🔥 IYKYK
4/5 ⭐️ I quirked a smile a few times, I chuckled on the inside a bit at their antics (though I would’ve appreciated a few more details to the more impressive pranks lol) and didn’t feel cheated at the end— but I didn’t find myself laughing out loud the same way I did with Sacred Vow.
.5/5 🖤 murdery assassin times
New rating
3/5 💥 for all the action scenes we got. Really enjoyed that!
All in all a well rounded quick read. I would’ve loved more insight into both of our characters and how they found themselves in their chosen careers. So maybe take away .25 of a star because I like more back story and details.
Why am I not surprised that this book was absolute chaos? Sheridan Anne will always be an author I know is going to take me for a spicy, chaotic ride.
What happens when two assassins become neighbors? These characters were absolutely feral for each other! The tension was so thick and when they finally gave in?? It was the beginning of a game no one was ready for 🫣🤣
The way they drove each other nuts, tried to ruin each others targets, and tricks they played on each other was absolutely insane. But what makes it better?? It was basically foreplay for them 🫠🤣
I have to give it to her, Sheridan Anne somehow put a dark romcom, spicy, action packed romance together and made it work! If you love straight chaos, A LOT of spice, and two characters that are absolutely insane, and even more so when they’re together?? This one has your name written all over it!!
Thank you to the author for gifting me the ALC to listen and review, CJ Bloom and Patrick Zeller were amazing with this intense book! The chaos and thrill this book gives was evident in every chapter of this audiobook. I highly recommend!!
If you’re looking for a dark assassin romcom packed with chaos, chemistry, and laugh-out-loud banter, Serial Bangers needs to be on your TBR immediately!
Kiara is a contract killer hiding behind a travel blogger persona, and her life gets a whole lot more complicated when a cocky, infuriatingly attractive neighbour moves in next door. What starts as an all out prank war quickly escalates into a hilarious game of one upmanship, undeniable attraction, and plenty of explosive situations.
I absolutely adored Kiara and Raiden. Their chemistry was off the charts, the banter was perfection, and their constant rivalry had me grinning from start to finish. The blend of action, humour, suspense, and spice made this impossible to put down. Every time I thought things couldn’t get more chaotic, Sheridan Anne proved me wrong!
Tropes you’ll love 🥰 🔪 Assassin 😂 Prank Wars 🔥 Hate to Love Vibes 🖤 Morally Grey Characters 💥 Action Packed Adventure 🌶️ Spicy ✨ Touch Her and Die Energy 🚁 High Stakes Chaos
UUGHHH YES! Looking to get into something dark but also want to laugh, look no further! We start with this young, badass assassin who is thriving, until her new asshole of a neighbour shows up, and his favourite thing to do is see how much he can piss her off!
Radien Kane. Ruthless, cocky, arrogant and down right bad, can do no wrong! Kiara St. James. A woman that knows what she wants and has the stamina to back it up (in and out of the bedroom)
The banter, action, steamy tension, competition, ruthless neighbour wars, all added together with hilarious and swoon worthy moments. Think Mr. & Mrs. Smith but hotter and funnier.
“I swear to God, you are the most chronically exhausting man I have ever met in my life” “Baby, you haven’t been chronically exhausted until you’ve felt what it’s like to truly fucked by me”
“So you and me?” “There’s no you and me. There’s just us. That’s it. That’s the only version of this that exist anymore”
This book was an absolute five star read for me. I was cackling from the first paragraph. This book somehow manages to blend dark themes, laugh out loud humor, and incredible chemistry into one wildly entertaining ride. The banter between the characters was top notch. Every conversation felt sharp, witty, and completely natural, making it impossible not to become invested in their relationship. What really stood out was the dynamic between the characters. Their interactions had the perfect mix of tension, chaos, humor, and heart. I found myself grinning through some scenes and kicking my feet through others, all while enjoying the darker edge woven throughout the story. If you're looking for a book that delivers dark romance vibes without taking itself too seriously, with characters who keep you laughing as much as they're keeping you hooked, Serial Bangers absolutely delivers. A perfect blend of dark romance and rom-com energy, and one I'll be recommending for a long time.
What happens when 2 people who shouldn’t like each other let alone fall in love unexpectedly? Friendly competition and utter chaos that’s what. Knowing that I’ve loved everything I have read so far by Sheridan Anne, I knew I was going to love this just as much. What I wasn’t expecting was for this to take a top spot in my favorite books read this year! This story follows Kiara and Raiden and their crazy antics as contract killers. From the straight up feral savage retorts from Kiara or the brazen cocky attitude that Raiden has, this book had me laughing out loud the entire time. The way that Sheridan wrote the competitive nature of these two to the sexual tension buildup was pure gold. Kiara and Raiden’s adventures had me on the edge of my seat the entire time and I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next. If you are looking for the perfect combination of romantic comedy, witty banter, spicy scenes with a redwood of a man; this book is for you! OUT NOW!
I listened to the audiobook version of this story and I loved the combination of humor and action. Kiara and Raiden are delicious together. The Mr. & Mrs. Smith vibes were amazing!!! The way Raiden antagonized Kiara throughout the entire book made this enemies to lovers story so satisfying. Like yes, he protected her but he made sure to make her mad every time. And Kiara being a total baddie made it even better. She went toe to toe with Raiden the whole time! And then gave us the best smexy times ever! So freaking hot!! The plot was super interesting and the pace was perfect. The narration by CJ Bloom and Patrick Zeller was phenomenal. CJ is one of my favorite female narrators and she excelled at this one! Definitely a great rec for those who like spicy enemies to lovers romances with lots of banter, plenty of action, great humor, and amazing narration.
It’s no secret that if Sheridan Anne wrote me a parking fine, I’d probably still rate it five stars and Serial Bangers is no exception.
I finished this in less than 24 hours and I’m not lying when I say I was cackling so hard my bed was shaking like a shopping trolley with one dodgy wheel! 🤣
If you like your romance dark, chaotic, slightly unhinged and packed with laugh out loud banter, put this one straight on your TBR!
A hitwoman FMC, a cocky neighbour with an ego the size of his bank account, a prank war that spirals wildly out of control and chemistry so good it should probably come with a warning label? Say less!
Kiara and Raiden were absolute perfection. Their banter was top tier, their rivalry was hilarious and the tension between them had me kicking my feet one minute and wheezing with laughter the next. Sheridan Anne somehow blends dark humour, action, suspense, spice and genuine heart into one gloriously chaotic package!
Serial bangers has entered the top 3 Sheridan Anne books in my opinion! Perfection and a damn good time!
Kiara, a independent contract killer gets a new neighbor, Raiden. Raiden and Kiara start off with a massive dislike for each other. Their stubbornness and competitive nature makes for an unusual situations. These situations lead to their undeniable attraction that detonates at one point in the book. This book had me laughing so loud my husband looked at me and asked me if I was alright! The banter in this book is top nodge, so brilliantly done, I loved it. The spice was hot and explosive, just like our characters. I found it a perfect match for them. The whole prank war between our two main characters was so entertaining. Sheridan writes with a fast pace and managed to keep me locked in. Just like she did with her previous books. This is a perfect book for lovers of dark, steamy rom-com books.
I don't know what Sheridan puts into her books, but I am absolutely addicted! This book had me in stitches from chapter one 😂
Kiara and Raiden were the perfect pair. Their banter is unmatched, and their chemistry was through the roof (or is that Kiara up there scheming? 😏👀). The prank wars were easily one of the highlights of this read.
Packed full of action, suspense, and spice 🤌🏼🔥, this one was chaotic in the best possible way, and I could not put it down.
I'm already wanting a reread of this unhinged duo, and I'll definitely be doing the audio ASAP.
If you like your reads a little dark with a side of hilarious one-liners, top-tier banter, and a pet cactus 🌵, then add this one to your TBR immediately.
Red hot and deliciously funny! A true enemies to lovers that had me seriously roaring with laughter. The fiery chemistry between Kiara and Raiden was out of this world. From the moment she heard him banging woman after woman next door they’ve been at each other’s throats. Kiara has a soft spot for Spikezilla (her beloved pet cactus). After that come designer bags and a completely normal, definitely not concerning attraction to weapons lol. While Raiden’s favorite pastime is tormenting Kiara for his own amusement, beneath all that chaos he’s completely, utterly, and adorably gone for her. Their banter, tension and chaotic dynamic made this such a fun read. Please please please write more dark romcoms Sheridan Anne as I have thoroughly enjoyed this one!
I say this with every book and will die on this hill every time but here we go again. Sheridan's writing gets better with each book and each character/story is *chefs kiss*
5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Definitely a LOL read.
Kiara and Raiden characters are honestly one of my favorite. It's got all of Sheridan's themes with a lot of spice and comedy.
I limited myself to 25% per day because I hate reading the end of Sheridan's books she always leaves me wanting more.
Check you triggers and add to your TBR you don't want to miss out on this TOP 5 of 2026. With 2 others of Sheridans being in the top spots. I honestly think this is going to my TOP book of 2026.
From the very first page, I just could not stop laughing. It is absolute GOLD! This dark romcom is hilarious and full of so much banter, but not just any banter. Such quick wit, they volleyed those responses and hits back and forth like they were in a match. I probably only stopped laughing for the action moments where they dominated every situation, and when Raiden was so sweet and loving towards Kiara. He was quite the dirty dog in the beginning (and I loved it), so HOT and I where can I get one. That man fell so hard and fast for her and though he is very smart, he is not what you think. Kiara is just as she appears, smart, sexy, observant and vulnerable underneath it all. Her constant denial of her feelings and her response for love was endearing, comical and so her. I enjoyed every single part of this book so much! This just took the spot as my favorite dark rom com of Sheridan’s.
I NEED a Spikezilla in my house and maybe a Needles friend.
Magic... Sheridan Anne is Magic Once again she has popped up out of nowhere with a surprise release and it was an absolute BANGER (pun intended) Think Mr & Mrs Smith vibes but with way more sass and spice. Not only was this hot as hell and absolutely hilarious, but the story kept me hooked and I just embraced the chaos.
🖤 neighbour rivalry 🖤 professional unalivers 🖤 top tier banter 🖤 over the top shenanigans 🖤 action and suspense 🌵 cactus mum
Absolute must read... you need to jump right onto this. I know i'll be adding the audiobook asap.
Thankyou so much Sheridan for the arc. I have adored every single word of yours I have read and you can bet your ass I'll be back for the next book.
From page one to the last page of this book kept me locked on and deep into the the story. The banter, chemistry, spice and action was amazing and absolutely hysterical. This is a dark rom-com and I tell you I laughed the whole way, even through the dark sides, thats when the banter becomes even better.
Keira and Raiden are the perfect book Mr and Mrs Smith. Though not married and Raiden is an absolute dirty dog that makes you love him even more.
The audio features the amazing CJ Bloom and Patrick Zeller. I could listen to him read it to me over and over non stop. Their narrations bring this from 5/5 to 10/10! It is so much better and brings the story to life so much more.
Let me just start by saying I love the strong FMC energy that is portrayed right from the beginning. She doesn't just sit back and take whatever is thrown at her, she gets feisty, fires right back, and holds her own.
This story was fun, fiery, and the spice was definitely spicing. There’s also a secret identity element woven throughout the story. The tension, the secrets, and the constant push and pull between two people who are keeping major parts of themselves hidden made for such an entertaining read.
And Raiden... whew. The confidence on this man. He knows exactly what he's capable of and isn't afraid to show it. But just when you think you've got him figured out, you discover he's been holding back and isn't even revealing the full extent of who he is.
