Ok, I knew there was a cliffhanger coming. I love the Lentari books. This one is no exception. Citizens of Lentari are disappearing. Steve and Sarah are summoned by the King of Lentari to help with the investigation. Then there is a pesky unstable portal. There also potentially pesky time paradoxes. The portal is random as to time and location. This book has dwarves, dragons and one very nasty bad guy. I am so glad I have the sequel at hand.
The traveling back and forth in time through an unstable portal was an interesting idea. The story was entertaining and yet, I did not particularly appreciate Sarah and Steve being separated. The editing was pretty bad in this one too. And for the first time that pulled me out of the story…I think because I was not as engaged as I was in previous books.
I do believe the second time reading this; that it was even better the second time! There was so much I didn't catch or simply forgot. Again great job!
