All Those Summers is a great coming-of-age story for Blake Abernathy, but there is still so much to her story. I felt that this book was a great intro to Blake, Johnny, Curtis, and the rest of the friend group. The way they all met up after years of being apart, well...it certainly wasn't ideal :(
What I liked about this book is that it really reminded me of young summer love and lake days. I liked how the friendships seemed so easy at that age. Even if the friendships seemed easy, it didn't come without some drama and I did question if Blake was making the right choices while reading. The love triangle between Curtis, Johnny, and Blake kept me intrigued, but it also left me wanting more. There was some heartbreak, but I felt that for one summer, so much good also happened. I did feel that in some instances, this was love at first sight, but with teenage love, the hormones sure go crazy. I do wish present day Curtis was in the book a bit more, but I suppose we will have to wait until the next book to see his side of things and what he was up to all those years after summer 2001. I also wish we got more glimpses into what happened with Johnny after that summer.
Overall, this is a great summer read. The connections between the characters were well thought out and the book definitely leaves you wanting book 2 right now ;)

4.5 Stars!!
It’s 2018 and Blake Abernathy is living in London when she receives a phone call that will send her back home to Ontario. It also brings back a ton of memories from 17 years ago, when she spent the summer at Buckhorn Lake with friends she hasn’t seen. 17 years ago, Blake and her family went to Buckhorn Lake for the summer. There, Blake met a boy and a group of friends. They spent the summer hanging out, swimming, bonfires, bike rides, and even having their first loves. Now she’s back in Ontario, emotionally dealing with what’s happening, and facing her past and the people in it.
OMG, this was the book I didn’t know I needed when I read it! It make my heart happy (for the most part), it was nostalgic for me in the way that I remembered my first love – though I didn’t have any summers at a lake (though it sounds fun!).
All of the characters felt authentic, they were teenagers in high school and they acted like it, which I really appreciated. Blake was a great character and very relatable. The setting of the lake was perfect. I could envision all of the activities they were doing. The dynamics of the group was authentic as well. When Blake is new to the group, not all the girls necessarily like her – which happens, but then they progress and things change.
The romances felt real for their age too. I don’t want to say too much and give anything away, so that’s all I’m going to say.
Lastly, Ms. Amanda Baniuk – What is with that ending?!?! My heart was literally beating so fast, I was all in. I was leaning forward reading those last pages and then it ENDED!!!!! On a cliffhanger!!! How could you do this to us?! When does the next book come out?

Amanda Baniuk absolutely nailed the feeling of growing up in Ontario. One of my favourite parts of All Those Summers was how vividly the writing transported me back to my own youth. The references, familiar Ontario settings, and the small details of summer life felt so authentic that I could almost smell the campfires and feel the long, carefree evenings again.
The novel beautifully captures both the challenges and the joys of coming of age—first loves, changing friendships, family dynamics, and the bittersweet realization that growing up means leaving parts of your childhood behind. It felt incredibly relatable, and I found myself connecting with every character in different ways.
Once I started reading, I genuinely couldn't put it down. I kept telling myself "just one more chapter," but I always ended up reading another. It's one of those stories that draws you in completely and stays with you long after you've finished.

Amanda, what the heck was that ending?!? Like no one told me this was a cliffhanger romance! I am so invested in these characters and what happened and what is going to happen! Amanda, when does the next book come out?!
Okay, seriously to the review. This is a very slow burner, but there are many reveals that keep the story moving. I enjoyed Blake as a character. She felt authentic to a teenager going through her first love and being noticed by boys. Though she annoyed me, I appreciated her authenticity. I think she is someone my students could relate to. I even saw my younger self in her. I enjoyed the lake setting of this story as well. It leaves the summer feels of a young summer romance. At first, I was annoyed by how slowly this moves along. I was curious about the "present" time period and who Blake was going to the funeral for, but I was less invested in the "past," where readers spend most of their time. By the 75% mark, I was fully invested in the past. I wanted to know what was going to happen.
My only issue was this book was some more thourough editing that needed to happen. There were times that the missed grammar and spelling issues pulled me out of the story. But all in all, I did enjoy this one.

This was 4.5 stars for me. The nostalgia I felt during this whole story was insane.
All Those Summers follows a group of best friends who met as teenagers during the summer on vacation. There are two different timelines that we follow - 2018, which is supposed to represent the current time, an 2001, when the teens first met.
The story opens with the devastating news that one of the members of this close-knit group of friends has died. Everyone is coming back together for the funeral.
We then flash back to when they all first met. The story dives into a coming of age tale for the main character, Blake Abernathy. We see the close, life-long friendships she's made and discover her first love.
This story really brings back the excitement of summer vacations with family and friends. The laughter, the tears, the summer nights, swimming, campfires, movie nights, and all things that we tried to cram in before the start of another school year.
The ending left on a massive cliff hanger, though!! I'm anxiously awaiting the release of the second book in this series!

5 stars. I took my time to read this one.
What a great summer romance filled with funny and heartwarming experiences between a group of teens discovering life. But most of all, how Blake started to discover herself and find her way to fall in love.
Love triangle? You have it.
Summer experiences? Yep.
Friends for life? All of it, it makes you go back in time and want to experience your life again!
The lake makes everything magical and the FMC is so funny! There’s way she doesn’t think and just keep talking to herself in her thoughts were hilarious and made me think on my young self.
There’s a very sad event that brings the group together, but it was necessary to make the experience of reading this even better.
This book also has a great pace and you’ll get involved on their adventures and romance. And you know what? This book ends on cliffhanger!!! I need to know what Curtis is going to say 😩

This was such a great summer romance that will hit you all in the feels. It is full of friendship, funny moments, first loves, and all of the emotions. The setting of this book is so good being at the lake and gives the perfect summer vibes. I love Blake so much and her self discovery. But that cliffhanger?!?!! I need book 2 now please!!

The strongest aspect of this novel is its atmosphere. The lakeside setting feels vivid and immersive, making it easy to remember those carefree teenage summers filled with bonfires, boat rides, laughter, and the feeling that life could last forever. Baniuk writes with warmth and authenticity, creating relationships that feel genuine and emotionally grounded.
Blake’s journey is one of reflection, healing, and confronting old regrets. Watching her younger self discover confidence and belonging while her adult self struggles with unresolved memories creates an emotional contrast that keeps the pages turning. Although the pacing is gentler than I usually gravitate towards, it suits the reflective nature of the story, even if I found parts of the middle a little slow.

July 1, 2026Such a fun and nostalgic read! Many of the scenes in All Those Summers could have been lifted from my life it was such a trip to experience!
What I loved most was that not only is Blake discovering what love might look like for her, but also how important her family and friends are in her journey. Blake has to navigate these relationships - which can be tricky at the best of times for any 15 year old - alongside budding romance. Furthermore, Blake has to navigate what is important to HER in these dynamics and that is so damn refreshing! This is so often overlooked in a YA and I’m so thrilled we got to know these characters so well! A true coming of age story!
I also appreciate how REAL Blake and her friends are! We see the full teenage experience which had me laughing and cringing at times while reading it - felt just toooo real! And dare I say… effective?!
With some questions left unanswered, I’m dying to see what is in store for all of my beloved characters in whatever Baniuk has coming next!

Wow… well I want to start this off by giving a huge thank you to Amanda Baniuk for choosing me as a physical ARC reader for this book.
I was super excited to read this one. I’m super familiar with the area that this book takes place in and I just knew it would be the perfect vibe for me to read this summer.
The vibes? Immaculate. I could picture these trailers so clearly, it’s kind of insane. I feel like I lived this life with these kids and I’m attached. No, like I need book 2 yesterday. 😭
This is predominantly a sort of slice-of-life teenage drama sort of book, with adulthood and how those relationships evolved mixed in. That’s the exact kind of cozy book that I love and it really hit the spot for me. I just want to hug this book so close, it means so much to me.
The relationships between these characters, especially a certain couple of characters, is still a question mark, which will definitely have me coming back for more.
Without spoiling anything, be ready for a lot of summer fun down by the lake, some relationship drama, and a brutal cliffhanger.

This story had high potential and completely fell flat at the end. It’s a dual timeline that occurs over a short time period that in either timeline doesn’t fully resolve or conclude what led our characters to this pivot point. When I reached the last chapter, I thought finally we will find out the main conflict surrounding our characters and instead…the book ends. Disappointment can’t describe how I feel. I was engrossed in this story thinking we were moving forth to be fall face flat. There was no warning—is it not finished? This storyline for these two characters in particular doesn’t need to be spread out into more than 1 book. The book title says All Those Summers but it truly only covers 1 summer, it references time periods that something happens but as a reader—we don’t hear/see it. I feel left out a conversation but I’m reading this from a first person perspective.

All Those Summers is an emotional, nostalgic story about love, heartbreak, and the people who never truly leave our hearts. I absolutely loved the dual timelines, which wove together the past and present, as well as the beautiful lakeside summer setting that made the story feel even more special.
I especially enjoyed following Blake’s journey. After building a life for herself in London, she’s unexpectedly drawn back to the place where she spent every summer following a tragedy within her close friend group. Watching her confront the past, old friendships, and unresolved feelings made for such an emotional read.

This book is the perfect summer read, filled with summer romance, funny and heartwarming moments. The best part of the book is how Blake self discovers herself and the way she fall in love, very beautifully written. The friendship in this book is so heartwarming that I actually wanted to have my own friend’s meetup, loved it. The summer lake setting of this book everything looks perfect and I really enjoyed this book. FMC so funny the way she talks her thoughts it was hilarious. This book will pull you so much in the romance and story that you will enjoy this.

This book is the perfect summer read, filled with summer romance, funny and heartwarming moments. The best part of the book is how Blake self discovers herself and the way she fall in love, very beautifully written. The friendship in this book is so heartwarming that I actually wanted to have my own friend’s meetup, loved it. The summer lake setting of this book everything looks perfect and I really enjoyed this book. FMC so funny the way she talks her thoughts it was hilarious. This book will pull you so much in the romance and story that you will enjoy this.

Summer romances can be messy.Especially if its a teenage romance.Immaturity can often come in the way, added up with miscommunications, lack of understanding. But what remains is the friendship. And that goes a long way!
Years after the FMC leaves her country to build a life in London, she receives a call to know one of her best friends/ex-boyfriend "Johny" is dead. She takes the decision to go back to her town although she know, that she has to confront her past.
Memories of friendship, shared moments of her group brings her joy, makes her feel nostalgic, and guilty as well for leaving all of it behind. But that's thebane of adulting.
She finally chooses to face the reality rather than escaping it.

I love a second-chance romance book and this one has a love triangle too. I feel like I don’t read coming of age stories too much. Something big happens at the beginning of the book but you aren’t sure who it is about so there is a bit of mystery to it.
I did enjoyed that certain chapters were about the past and the present. There were certain times in the book I wasn’t a huge fan of. I don’t want to spoil anything for the readers.

It has friendship, nostalgia, personal growth, and real emotional depth. This really made me reflect on my teenage years and all the exciting and indecisive feelings. This was a slow burn that had me wanting more of the present day storyline but needing the past buildup also. But the cliffhanger?! I didn’t know we’d be left like that! It’s safe to say we’re all waiting on book 2.

All Those Summers is a trip down memory lane for a group of friends. We get dual time lines as Blake and her friends recall the nostalgic summer they first met and how their life was changed. This is a calm and relaxing read. I’m looking forward to more from this author.

I am a sucker for a good summer romance! One of my favorite places to be is on the water, so I instantly felt cozy and at home in this book! I loved the love triangle aspect, I loved the comedic parts (warning, they will leave you physically smiling), and I truly enjoyed the writing style that the author has. If you're looking for a good summer romance read, this is something you should grab and sit by the lake while reading!

I received an advanced copy from Books and Bloom PR and the author. All Those Summers by Amanda Baniuk was a book that explored friendship, identity, and the complicated ways our past shapes us. Amanda Baniuk captured that bittersweet of nostalgia, growing up, and figuring out who you are with such tenderness that I had to sit and think who I had become. Honestly this was a perfect summer read! Also, this had a gorgeous cover!

What a great summer read! I loved the lake setting of this book. I always love a dual timeline story, and this one did not disappoint. I loved all the characters in this book and the ending had me flipping the page back and forth needing to know more between our main characters and their story! I can’t wait for the next book in this series.

All those summers is a book that made me ugly cry to be honest. I read it in a few days because I couldn't put it down. we start the story big and we have crumbs of answers during reading it. Honestly I had some ideas, but I wasn't sure until the end, the end that made me cry. but in general it was a really good book, a heartbreaking story with a love triangle, second chance romance and it was always you romance.

Things weren't easy for Blake and her crush back then, and they are not easy now.
This was the book I needed at the time I needed it. I loved the nostalgia and I can't wait to learn more about Blake and her friends.
