The invasion is reaching its final stage. And one young boy may be the key to all of it.
After escaping the underground prison, the survivors return to a world that barely resembles the one they left behind. The invaders are coming. People are disappearing. And something is spreading through reality itself—something that makes it harder to tell memory from truth.
As chaos closes in from every side, our heroes are pulled toward the center of the nightmare. There, they begin uncovering fragments of a hidden connection between themselves, the invasion, and a boy lost years ago.
Invaders 5 is a dark, emotional finale filled with cosmic horror, desperate survival, and revelations that will change everything. Perfect for fans of Dark, Stranger Things, and Arrival.
I write stories about the apocalypse so that I don't need to work a real job. I grew up reading Stephen King and still haven't fully recovered. I'm currently ending the world in my new series Under the Breaking Sky.

Invaders 5 is the final installment in the excellent Invaders series years in the making, and, wow, was it ever worth the wait. Invaders 5 has everything an alien invasion thriller should have, with an extra emotional punch as the book reaches its almost unthinkable climax! Every character is changed, profoundly through the act of simple survival, even more so than in many other series in the apocalyptic survival thriller/alien invasion thriller. There are plenty of surprises, and no-one who has followed the series will be disappointed! Overall, 5/5 hard earned stars. This series should be at the top of the TBR pile of any adult reader of survival thrillers of any variety! Kudos to Clausen for a phenomenal finale!
When I started to read the very first Invaders book I didn’t think I’d enjoy it, not my cuppa tea. But after reading a couple chapters I was hooked! This whole series is really good, exciting, funny, sad and well worth reading. Well done Nick! Another great series written by your hand!! 👍👏
We got everybody in this book. POV's from 7 different people, and it kept mixing things up. Felix and Tim remain the biggest characters of the series and they do everything they can to make sure everybody survives and makes it through. Nick has a way of making you instantly route for or against someone within a single chapter, and can convey such different people whilst keeping it succinct. A great cast of characters. Although I wish some of the older ones from previous books would've made an appearance.
Storyline:
After book 1 I felt the story fizzled out a little and then hit a bit of a slump with books 3 and 4. This one however picked up from that bog cliffhanger and it didn't take its foot off the pedal at all until the very end. New things were thrown at us, questions were answered, and a vivid world of how useless we would be against a more intelligent being was painted with ease. A great continuous buildup of worry and unease.
Pacing/writing:
The pacing was a lot better for me compared to books 3 and 4 (which I felt dragged on a bit). Chapters were the perfect length, nothing was talked about too much and it flowed perfectly. I have a small gripe about continuity - Helena's age was much older in the previous installments I'm sure. Oswald and Miriam seem to change a bit too. It's not huge but a small bugbear.
Ending:
A great ending. It both answered all of my questions, made sure all character storylines were finished, and we even had a few chapters after the event to round it all up.
Emotional impact:
The author has definitely built up a lot of emotional attachment to the characters in the last four books so you go into this rooting for them. There is moments of unease, dread, sadness, and always a little bit of humour.
I've read a lot of Nick's books & series, and his writing is a major player in me being as big of a reader I am today. This was a really great one that felt like his work, but was unique enough to not feel too similar to any other story he's told.
Without giving any spoilers for the series. Having book 4 being almost an entirely different horror/thriller story subplot was a huge change of pace for his books that I really enjoyed. The horrors that humans make up in a time of chaos and crisis are all too real.
Nick has a way of mixing different sci-fi/horror/cult-like properties and backstories into his books, and this was one that went in a direction I definitely did not see coming. I flew through all of these as the plot flowed so well, and there's no time for the characters to rest and have a lull in their story. Really enjoyed this and highly recommend Nick as an author to check out!
I have enjoyed the whole Alien Invasion series and this one is the icing on the cake. I loved the characters and I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see how it would all turn out, which is way better than expected. Wish I could say more but I don't want to spoil it. Highly recommended.
I was hooked on the whole series. Could not put it down. No dead time, no pun intended. Loved the character and story line.A rollercoaster of fear and excitement. You will not be disappointed.
Una historia de invasores extraterrestres que no puedes dejar cuando la has empezado. Con un ritmo frenético, con personajes sólidos y un final sorprendente que a lo mejor es el único posible. Disfrútenla.
Started the first last week and finished the 5th last night. Each book is so good you just have to start the next. And the final comes with a big twist. Highly recommend.
