A fantastic insight into the world of Gerry Anderson and his worldwide success of Thunderbirds. He was a pioneer in puppetry super marionation and worked tirelessly to put his creativity into practice and into reality! Very interesting to hear of his other series and films too, some of which didn't do so well.

I first read this book about 20 years ago after borrowing it from my local library, so it was so good to receive it as a present this year and get the chance to read it all again.

I’ve been a huge fan of Gerry’s work as long as I can remember, and his shows were a mainstay of my childhood - I’m sure it’s the same for countless others. It was so good to meet the great man a few years ago too, and he was so easy-going and kind.

This biography (for the most part written by Simon Archer, who tragically died before he could complete it) was finished off by writer Stan Nicholls, and is an absorbing and fascinating account of Gerry’s life.

It’s so inspiring that this man who simply wanted to work in the movie industry and make films fulfilled his dream - but via a very different path to most others!
All his series and films are documented here up until Space Precinct, and the book is crammed with facts and information which really gives the reader an insight into how it was all done.

It touches on Gerry’s personal life too, and three marriages, and all the highs and lows of his remarkable life.

This is a must-read for anyone who loves Gerry and his amazing work, and a great tribute to a great man.
