Hi, I’m Violet Kensington!

I write dark romance and psychological horror. If you enjoy obsessive love, emotional damage, supernatural chaos, and the occasional snort, you’re in the right place.

My office is usually occupied by dogs demanding attention while I’m trying to convince my characters to make better life choices (they never listen).

I have a weakness for gothic aesthetics, anime, rainy days, and creating fictional worlds that readers can disappear into for hours. Whether it’s vampires, warlocks, werewolves, cursed magic, or dangerously possessive love interests, I believe every story should make you feel something.

Thank you for stopping by my little corner of the darkness. I hope you find a story that keeps you awake far past your bedtime.

Happy reading!

I really enjoyed this book.

Rome & Slate chemistry was through the roof, just pure fire 🔥.

I also loved the female characters; Thirty-two and Twenty-seven, and I can not forget Gertrude. They are all bad asses!

Full review to come soon.

I love this book so much!! It was my first cyberpunk gothic book I’ve ever read and it was amazing!! The secret society was so creative to me and disturbing which is what made it so interesting. There’s a lot of action and mystery. Plus the creatures or the infected I should say sound so grotesque. Lol! I just love how Violet writes her characters and the dynamic between them all. Slate and Rome’s enemies to lovers/stepbrothers/unknown partners trope was so good and there was some really agonizing emotional parts to this book but that’s why I love this authors style! You get sucked in! Absolutely a must read!!🙌

I thought the reviews on this book may be too generous because it’s such a new book and had a few reviews but I actually really enjoyed it but I do have a few points that I just wanna make that I do have as constructive criticism.

1. Some repetitiveness in using phrases such as “bisexual panic” “strawberry blonde hair” “silver eyes” - the bisexual panic use being so repetitive at the start was just too frequent for me. As for the descriptions they only really needed to be used once but were used multiple times, different adjectives to describe the hair or eye colour

2. I love the cover are BUT it’s AI and I wish it was real art. I understand there can be a const associated but I think it would truly be worth it.

3. Rome does start the book as so dislikable for me that I almost DNF’d but glad I stuck w it bc I actually was surprised by how much I enjoyed the plot and character development

This was my first “cyberpunk” gothic romance, and I was not disappointed, the plot was good, and masked men are my weakness and the spice .. 🫠

Step brothers Slate and Rome are step brother, enemies, they hate each other, but in the secret society they’re just numbers no one knows, they work together and they’re lethal.

Romes dad is sovereign of the mirror society, he controls the entire city and Rome’s life, he has betrothed Rome to Omen, she loves someone else entirely,
Collectively they need to find a way to sabotage the sovereigns plans from the inside.

The story was good,
the “infected” were gross,
Slate and Rome are 🔥

“To be known is to be vulnerable, to be vinerable is to be dead”
