Written Life

Rate this book
Written Life takes a whimsical swing at poetic conventions as it delves into the intricacies of Midwestern life in the twenty-first century. It asks the hard questions, like, God, who are you? Death, when will you come? Dog, have you been let out lately? Introspection and humor, joy and sorrow, murder and pyromania are all fair game in this life; this Written Life.

Cool collection of poetry that I can only describe as 'quiet'. It's descriptions are the parts of life that are whispered or subconscious; the stuff no one talks about but everyone thinks/feels/lives about. The collection portrays truth and experience that's relatable beyond the Midwest that the book is set. I'd recommend to anyone wanting a simple poetic perspective on the things in life we are all familiar with.

Relatable poetry with heart, humor, wisdom, and ordinary goosebumps. Landwehr paints the Midwest with a skilled brush and draws family close and loving.
