This book was...fine. It's a very simple story with not very flushed out characters, even though the world has a lot of depth. The main two characters don't really do anything, things just happen to them.
There are also a LOT of info dumps (especially at the beginning) that I found frustrating. The story is very simplistic and repetitive.
Saying that, it was clearly written for young adult readers because there's not complex grammar and there's a lot of furigana, but because it's fantasy the vocabulary is N1+.
I would say this is a good book for N2 level learners looking to improve their fantasy and uncommon Japanese vocab.
