I made it about 100 pages into this book before I DNF it. The story nor the character were compelling to read about.
The MC is summoned by a young noblewoman who should have been a countess, but her uncle stole her title from her. So she sacrifices a cow and a magical amulet to a particular goddess and the cow transforms into a naked man, our "MC". I put MC in quotes because too much of the story is told from the noblewoman and her maid early on. The MC is a soul mage, but he's basically back to the beginning of his power/abilities because he has to make new tools to use is magic better. His personality is boring, and I felt no urge to root for him.
The noblewoman and her maid are just bland characters. Neither did a thing for me. The book appears to be headed for a lot of political intrigue, and without compelling characters, those are a snooze fest to me. Which is why this book failed with me.
I saw no reason to continue being bored, and thus there is no reason to consider reading further, much less a sequel.
