Review of advanced readers copy gifted by the author.
This was a proper pageturner. I loved the mystery, the suspense, the buildup and the characters in this story. I would have loved to see more of the podcast snippets, I found those elements really interesting!
I especially loved Bartholomew and his inner struggles throughout the story. The push and pull around what’s right and wrong, good and bad after having been brought up in a cult (or community as he would have corrected me).
The ending felt a little bit rushed to me (but I often feel that about thrillers).I would have loved for that to be a bit more fleshed out and maybe show some of the aftermath after what went down. Could maybe have been added as parts of the podcast material.
This was my first Lucy Brighton book, but it won’t be the last. Can recommend if you’re looking for a fast paced thriller read.

This is, without doubt, my favourite Lucy Brighton book so far. It has everything I have come to expect from her writing, but she has approached this one from a completely different angle compared to her other work. Rather than relying on the conventional twisty thriller format, this novel leans heavily into its psychological impact, forcing you to question your own perspective on everything that unfolds.
Without giving too much away, Finding Grace follows Bartholomew as he searches for his missing friend, Grace, after she disappears from the isolated cabin and religious cult they have grown up in. Alongside the search, the novel explores his beliefs as he slowly comes to realise that something about the life he has always known is deeply wrong. It is a gripping psychological thriller that keeps you questioning everything.
If you want a book that leaves you unable to breathe from beginning to end, read this one.
.Every single page had me in a constant state of suspense and anxiousness that, if I’m honest, I still haven’t managed to shake. I have never read a book that has consistently made me feel so anxious and on edge while also making me experience almost every emotion imaginable. It is one of those books where you almost don’t want to keep reading because it feels emotionally devastating, but you simply have to because the story is so compelling - you’ve just got to keep turning those pages.
The character development is some of the best Lucy has ever written, in my opinion. Every single character is nuanced, layered and full of personality, and each one managed to evoke an audible response from me - which i promptly had to share with Lucy!
I definitely had my favourites, but there wasn’t a single character who didn’t leave an impression.
What I loved most was that just when I thought I had a chance to recover emotionally, something else would happen to pull me straight back in. There is always another revelation, another emotional blow or another moment of tension waiting around the corner, so I recommend not breathing throughout the entire book.
I devoured this in just over 24 hours, and by the time I finished, I felt completely emotionally exhausted in the best possible way. Even now, I’m struggling to put into words the effect this book has had on me because it took me on such an intense psychological and emotional journey. It felt like I experienced every emotion imaginable, and I still don’t think I’ve fully recovered from it.
In terms of reading order, personally, I would say that you could technically read this as a standalone book, however some plot points of Finding Home would be slightly spoiled for you so if you definitely want to read that, do so before reading this one. Although you can still enjoy the story of finding great without having read the first book.

Wow I loved this book. Another fabulous read from Lucy Brighton . It's a dark psychological thriller which keeps you guessing and gives you an insight into actual cult behaviour .
Without giving away too much it's about Bartholomew who lives within this cult commune. His friend Grace has gone missing and he's doing everything he can to find her. Bartholomew has obviously been brain washed by them and fears and believes the leader of the cult. There are lots of twists and turns and it keeps you on the edge of your seat. Finished it in 24 hours as didn't want to put it down.
Love the style of Lucy's writing. Definitely not a slow burn keeps you wanting to turn another page.
It's a must read.

It perhaps wasn't quite as twisty as I would normally like my trillers and I also found some of the dialogue a bit stilted at times. But otherwise, it was really enjoyable and I would recommend.

Wow! What can I say about this book? First of all, thank you to Lucy for the arc!
I loved everything about this book from beginning to end. I have always been fascinated with the cult topics and finally someone wrote an amazing book about one! This book was so gripping and had me on the end of my seat. I was not expecting that ending at all, the twists and turns were flying at me from all directions! I rate this book as high as I possibly can and I immediately want to reread because of that feeling of being in such an immersive world! The topics were handled very well and the structure of the book was perfect! So happy that this book is coming out because I loved it !!!

I was lucky to have ARC read this book and it did not disappoint! The story has you guessing, with so many twists and turns. It kept me on the edge of my seat,you feel every moment, it even gave me the creeps at times. The ending was so cleverly done that it could pave the way for a potential sequel ( maybe there will be!? ) but I would definitely like to revisit these characters and find out where this could possibly go next. Lucy is a phenomenal writer and I will unquestionably be reading more from her. If you like a good psychological thriller then this book is for you!

WOW what a book! If you like a psychological thriller that revolves around a person going missing in a mysterious cult, then this is the book for you!
You join the story as Bartholomew finds out his best friend Grace has disappeared, no-one is acknowledging her strange & sudden departure, just carrying on as if everything is normal & dismissing his questions & enquiries! But he knows it's not right & won't stop until he finds her or gets answers, before the impending snow storm rolls in!
There was an authenticity to the characters that will draw you in & become invested in their journey, especially Bartholomew as he battles with all the contradicting views that he's been raised to believe & never question whilst trying to find his friend. For me, every character, whatever their role in this novel had a purpose to it's progression, whether it was a nosey shop keeper, a dismissive 'community' member, to those in the more prominent roles within the 'Community', each adds a layer of suspense, stress or anxiety to the overall atmosphere of the book.
The pacing is fast which helps build the tension throughout the plot arc. There are multiple fascists to this book, not only giving the normal thriller-esq plot twists & turns, but also criminal intrigue & addresses moral issues, grooming, manipulation & abuse - so be warned before you go opening the pages to this psychological thriller.
Overall, for me this book is outstanding, it is respectfully written around the harder impact subjects, but also doesn't shy away from bringing them to the forefront creating an honest, gritty narrative - Would 100% recommend this book.

The story captivated me so much that I devoured the book in two days.
I didn’t even know what expectations or ideas to bring to the book. But the mystery vibe really surprised me. Normally, I’m not a huge fan of stories where God plays a major role. This thriller, however, captivated me with the moral questions surrounding faith. The cult and its beliefs really shocked me, and its methods were terrible.
That made it all the more exciting to follow Bartholomew as he questioned everything and repeatedly doubted himself about what was right and wrong. He was a very authentic, if mysterious, character who tries to do the right thing. I also really liked Andrea, and I could relate very well to her despair. A particular highlight for me was the podcast chapters. I loved the interviews and would have liked to hear a few more of them. Also all the other members of the cult have been really memorable and everyone had an individual personality.
The story was gripping from start to finish, and I just couldn't put it down. The pleasant writing style also contributed to this and made it very easy to read. Plus, there were a few plot twists in the book that I didn’t see coming at all and that surprised me a few times. I also really liked the ending, even if it felt a little rushed. I was lucky enough to be selected as an ARC reader for this book and I am insanely grateful I was. I am not a huge thriller reader (Ive read a couple of Stephen King and Frieda McFadden), but I am a hugeee psychological thriller, true crime tv/film person so after reading the blurb of this book I knew it was going to be one for me.
An isolated religious commune!? A missing girl!? Trapped in by a snowstorm!? Literally what could be better than this combination. If you’ve ever watched ‘Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey’ or ‘Sins of our Mother’ then you will 100% love this book. If you like reading books with twists and turns that you will not guess then you will 100% love this book. If you have never read a psychological thriller and are new to the genre… you will 100% love this book.
I was hooked from the start and read this book in less than 24 hours. I did not guess a single thing correctly and felt so tense (in the best way) reading it. Those last 100 pages are a rollercoaster that you just do not want to get off.
Lucy Brighton you are absolutely absolute genius. I think I am going to be stuck on thrillers for a while now.

Ok so you have you ever gone into a read with zero expectations but found yourself completely blown away??? Well that’s exactly where I found myself when I finished Finding Grace. I’ve never read any of Lucy Brighton’s work before (shocking on my behalf and is in the process of being corrected!!) and I primarily signed up because if Meg’s involved, I knew it would be worth it.
This book had me HOOKED! Literally unputdownable (not a real word but is now). We have an isolated religious commune, a missing girl (Grace) and they’re trapped in by a snowstorm….anxious yet?? I know I was!
It’s pure brilliance in terms of a psychological thriller, it’s fast paced, there’s plot twists and turns that you will not see coming and I found it impossible to predict where the story would take me and that kept the pages turning real fast.
The last 15% of the book is WILD! I was nervous, anxious, excited and low key sad tat it was coming to an end. You are in for an absolute treat. Add it to your TBR, you’ll thank me after!

This was my first thriller and I really enjoyed it. It was interesting seeing Bartholomew’s perspective as someone who grew up in the that community, as opposed to Celest who did not.

I am so glad that I got to be an ARC reader for this. I am a huge fan of Lucy's writing and she has not disappointed me.
This was an effortless read. It drew me in from the prologue and kept me on tenterhooks throughout. It links in with Lucy's other books and has solidified that Cederthrope will not be somewhere I will be going for a vacation!
I loved how the story was broken up with podcast dialogue- such a fun structure and added some great ominous foreboding. The pacing was strong and Batholemews character was well written and his diversity handled sensitively. I really felt his conflict around what the right thing to do was. It hurt my heart 💔❤️🩹

I first came into contact with this authors work, on the platform Tik Tok, where She had Finding Home in her Tik Tok shop, I love psychological thrillers always my go to for many years and this book caught my eye, now getting to her “ soon to be released book” this was just as intense however an easy book to read that took you on a journey. The second thing that grabs my attention is it’s based around a religious cult, you can easily get drawn into that subject t matter for sure.
I find that her characters are so 3D dimensional that they actually become real, solid, and implanted in your mind. Love her hate them.
The twists are carefully crafted, with you lapping at wanting more.

I was super excited to be asked to be on the tour for this book so thank-you to meg and Lucy for a copy of this book! This is my first book by Lucy and I love the short chapters. easy to read and follow writing style and I did generally love the book! This is a cult thriller, and I am not sure the genre is for me! This follows Mainly Bart who is trying to find his friend Grace, who has disappeared for their cult home. This was incredibly fast paced and I read this so quickly! It is a short book too so a great slump buster too! I definitely didn’t expect this to get so unhinged but I loved that! There was some language in the book that I found difficult to read (down to personal reasons) so that did cause my rating to drop but definitely recommend you give this a read!

I was accepted by Lucy Brighton to be a part of the ARC team for Finding Grace and below is my honest review.
This had me on edge the entire time, it was so creepy. I was turning the pages quickly to see how the story developed.
Finding Grace is a cult thriller and we get the POVs of Bartholomew who is trying to find his best friend Grace and Celest who is not all she seems. It’s a snowy, isolated setting which makes it feel claustrophobic.
This was fast paced, unhinged, has a podcast element and has short chapters - everything I like in a book! I think the last 20% or so felt a bit rushed but overall, a really good read!
If you have any content triggers, I advise you to read any trigger warnings beforehand.
I recommend this to anyone who enjoys an atmospheric cult thriller.
I give this 4 stars!

It took me a little longer to get into this book than Lucy’s other ones, but once I was in I was scarily hooked! It showed the way the cult completely brainwashes the people within the community, to the point they’re frightened to do or say anything other than what the leaders say…… someone is always watching, listening, the fear is real !
The last few chapters had me gobsmacked, transfixed…. I did not see that coming.
Well done Lucy, when’s the sequel? Xxx

Wow I loved this book. Thank you Lucy for this ARC. I loved the premise of this book and I was hooked from the start. I finished this in a day which is the fastest I've finished a book in a long time!! Bartholomew was a really interesting character with a lot of depth. He was really torn between belonging and doing what was right. This book had me guessing until the end which is what every great thriller should be!

This is the best book Lucy has written so far. I wasn't sure at first if a thriller involving a missing person in a cult would be something I'd like, but this was so good.
There were plenty of twists that kept it intersting, and the pacing was spot on. Highly reccomend this book for those that want to be kept on the edge of their seat.

This was so much better than I was expecting! I kept wanting to read chapter after chapter and I flew through it quickly in less than 2 full days. Filled with suspense, the setting is centered within a cult and a member who has gone missing. This was my first read from Lucy Brighton, but not the last.
