I won a free Kindle copy of this book via a Goodreads giveaway win and would like to thank anyone who had a hand in making that happen.

I was expecting something different based on the synopsis of this - something tinged more with some kind of conspiracy theory. Instead this is actually a fairly straightforward coming of age story about a young man in his mid twenties trying to figure out his path in life. This is very well written and has some beautiful moments. I found myself frustrated by Kyle's obtuseness like how did he not realize how toxic Crystal was and dump her and how he should have quit his horrible job and gone to see his Dad for Thanksgiving while he still had the chance but enjoyed reading about him discovering his true passion in life. I loved how everything turned out in the end, especially with Hippo, who was my favorite character!
